The room I'm renting doesn't get heated as well as the rest of the house, so I set out first to buy an electric blanket. However, upon further research I discovered most electric blankets in my budget range were either poorly made or made of a fabric that leaves fuzzies all over you and your bed.
I came across this little gem in related products, and while I was wary of a pad vs. a blanket, I haven't been disappointed. NOTE: The biggest difference is the pad may not seem like it's warm enough upon first use. I don't want to be frying all night, and if you're looking to feel like your blankets just came out of the dryer, you will have to crank it up to 9. While it's nice to get into, it's too hot for me to sleep with. I found leaving it on 2 or 3 kept me exactly as warm as I prefer to sleep.
On those especially cold nights, I found turning it up high while I'm getting ready for bed and leaving the blankets over it made it cozy to get into, then I'd turn it down to 2 or 3 for the night. Plus you save on utilities. I now prefer it to an electric blanket.

We have had this product for over 2 years now, and we have not had any complaints with it. We leave it on the bed year round and just turn it off in the summer months. I have read some comments that some people complain that it does not heat that well, and that is because it is not supposed to be a heating blanket, but a bed warmer and it will be a little warmer at your feet and less warm up closer to your pillow. There is no better feeling than slipping into your bed with the sheets already warmed up (especially at your feet). Another person was concerned that the control box was at the feet, and yes there is a plastic piece at the bottom between the two sides (I guess that would be in the middle), and at 6 feet tall, I was able to feel it if my feet were in the right position, but I just pulled the end of the cover a little farther down and the piece was positioned where i could not feel it anymore...problem solved. The blanket has duel controls which was a great feature because my wife likes it warmer that I do during the night. The only problem I had with the blanket was that when I was ready to go to bed, if I forgot to come in and turn it on earlier, it would still be cold when I slipped into bed. But I did come up with a simple solution that works great. I purchased a electric timer, the kind you use on your lamps when you go on vacation, and a splitter cord and plugged both sides into it. I set the timer to come on a few hours before my bedtime and also to turn off in the middle of the night so I did not get too hot during the night. This works great and that is how we have been using it since the beginning. Great Product, I imagine we will have one of these on our bed for the rest of our days on this green earth. Enjoy!!
