We've really loved our Coleman plug-in cooler which we've had for seven years, but recently the fan motor stopped working. The motor that is advertised as fitting the majority of the Coleman thermoelectric coolers (like the 5615/ 5232/ 5640/ 5641/ 5642/ 5644 models) is no longer available anywhere so I thought I'd give this motor a try since it looks so much like the one in our cooler. Amazingly it works on our 5640 cooler so I'm guessing it will work on any of the models listed as fitting the old universal motor. It is a little louder than the old motor, but it works great and we didn't have to shell out $100+ dollars for a new cooler. Success!

This Roadpro Replacement Fan Motor for Deluxe Snackmaster RPSF-5234 Cooler/Warmer Roadpro RPSMM, was bought to replace the burnt-out motor in another type of 12 volt thermoelectric cooler an Igloo KoolMate 36. The unit's shaft was slightly shorter than the original Igloo motor's shaft but the two fan blades from the KoolMate fit easily on the RoadPro motor, and once the Igloo cooler was reassembled it worked perfectly once again. The RoadPro motor is quieter and more powerful than the original unit so the repaired cooler now actually cools faster yet seems to draw to draw less 12 volt current than it did before the fix. This is an excellent choice to return an older Igloo KoolMate 36 back to service after its original fan motor stops working.

All over the web people are saying this motor will replace the motors on the Igloo Koolmate 36 and similar units.

This is a bunch of bull! The shafts are too short and the diameter is too small. There is no way to fasten the motor the the cooler. I spent hours trying to fabricate adapters to use the original fans, but no way could I find a way to adapter the different shaft sizes and get the fans to balance. It's better to trash the old units and buy a new cooler.

Bought as a replacement for my Coleman cooler. It is a little noisier but it is a lot faster, so my cooler is cooler than it was before. I just hope, because it is so much faster that it still lasts as long as the old Coleman motor. It has a slightly thinner shaft and longer. I had to trim the longer end to fit the Coleman. Fill the fan shaft holes with epoxy and redrill for the thinner shaft. $26 and a little work beats $100 for a new cooler.

Addendum : It lasted from Nov. 5 to Aug. 10, a little over 9 months. I am a driver and this cooler is on 24 hrs. a day 5 days a week. The original Coleman motors lasted about 2 yrs. I just bought 2 more, hopefully by the time these wear out they'll have a better cooler.
