Celiera 12000 BTU Ductless Mini Split Air Conditioner + Heat Pump Review
The unit was easily installed by my contractor, the finish quality looks average but the remote control looks cheap. It was for my garage office so I didn't mind. Unfortunately, the unit I received is a lemon. For cooling function the air circulates well but when switched to heat, no air comes from the unit. I contacted the manufacturer's tech support and was given clear instruction for trouble shoot but still no function at the heating mode. I contacted the technical support again and was told the unit propably is low in freon and need to inject freon and double check all connections. I have no clue on technical issues and beginning to question my contractor's installation. Since the unit is installed and I hate to remove it for return, I hired an AC expert with over 30 years of experience to trouble shoot. At the first glance, he can tell the unit is manufactured in China and he have never heard of this brand over his life long experience is servicing AC units. After a detail inspection and trying to inject freon to the Non-standard connections of the unit, he concluded the contractor's installation is correct but either the compressor in the condenser unit is not functioning or the condenser unit's inside connections have problems. There is no compression at all and the cool air at the cooling mode is only the circulating air. In fact, my office is warmer than my garage even when I set the cooling temperature at 61 degree. This inspection costed me $200 just to make sure the problem is with the AC unit intself. I am requesting to return the unit through Amazon.Got the 3/4 ton unit to begin with and amazon did not have the outdoor compressor. After a quick phone convo with them I was able to order the 1 ton unit. It has been working like a champ. Got it for a sunroom and love the sleek look it gives it rather than a window unit. It will freeze you out of the space. Installed it myself and I have ZERO hvac experience. Worth the money!
