Early July 2013: The new version of the fan with the exact same brand name and model number...is wimpy. On High it has a slightly noticeable output at 3 to 3.5 feet. Yah, it's there....kinda. Beyond that meh. I wouldn't want to rely on this for any kind of heat respite on a hot day.
The only good things I can say about the new fan:
1. You can turn the fan at a 90 degree angle from where it's clamped. The old fan could not do this exactly could approximate it. However the old fan had another joint which gave it more flexibility in other ways.
2. This new July 2013 fan is physically smaller and able to fit into smaller places where an extra 1 to 1.5 inches might be a dealbreaker for install or positioning.
3. As crazy at it sounds I can think of some situations where I might want a more "wimpy" fan. For instance, if I go to sleep on a hot evening I don't want there to be a chill from the fan after the ambient temperature has cooled down 4 hours later. This fan's output is just enough to generate some * subtle * air circulation in say an 8 X 10 room without being too noisy.
But like I said, if you want as a fan for direct "give it to me" relief from a hot day... like clamped to a desk pointed directly at you: it's piddly.
Summary: Caveat Emptor hardware changes on models of items that still manage to be given the same model number. Especially on imported stuff. DON'T tear up the box until you've tested it and decide you like it. This fan was so inexpensive, it wasn't worth the hassle to return it. I won't buy any more of these however. Over and out!

This fan has low quality parts and stopped working within 2 months. I would not recommend this fan as it is terrible.Best Deals for Comfort Zone CZ6C 6-Inch 2-Speed Clip-On Fan
I am unable to return this broken fan that worked for about a month. It worked ok, then one day just made a fizzle sound, got extremely hot and was barely spinning. When I plugged it in again a week later to see if it had just been a fluke it started spinning slowly and got extremely hot to the touch. I unplugged it and put it in the trash. It was nice while it was working but would waste money on something that wont' work for long, (and might start a fire).
