Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I got this for my husband because he and my son are often in the garage in the middle of winter and it can get nippy there. I admit that I had no idea what it meant that it needed a 240 volt outlet. I thought it just plugged into a regular socket but my husband informed me this needs a special receptacle, one that most people would probably not have in their garage. So be forewarned!

Luckily, despite my ignorance, we DID have a 240 volt outlet (we recently had renovation done and my husband had asked the electrician to install it) and wound up making good use of it. The thing is very warm and even though our garage is bigger than 400 sq. ft, it still kept them warm because it can swivel to point to the area where they're at. My husband likes that it has a thermostat and he's very pleased with it.

I did notice that while it runs quietly most of the time, on occasion, it will rattle. We've only recently had cold weather so I will report more once it's used more often.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I will start this review by saying that I did not use the brackets that came with it. I used it as a stand alone. I am always doing stuff outside in garage in the dead of winter so I was excited to be getting this item.

I plugged it on and shut the garage door-I have a 2 and half garage size-and came back about 15 minutes later to see how warm it got. I was impressed my garage was so warm and cozy. I did not think it would warm the whole garage but I was wrong. Now I dont have to freeze my butt off this winter when I am outside.

Great space heater!

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This NewAir G70 Garage Space Heater is fairly compact (smaller than expected) but does a very good job in our, formerly, 500 sq/ft heaterless kiln room in our small shop. The Kiln room already had the correct 240v receptacles so setting this up was very straight forward using the included bracket.

As noted above our room is about 100 sq/ft larger than the 400 sq/ft rating of this heater, but it did managed to bring the room up to a comfy 65-degrees from about 45-degrees in under an hour.

The heater is generally quite and the little noise it does make is not an issue for use since it is in a work room.

This is a good choice if you have a 240v outlet!

Highly Recommended!

Honest reviews on NewAir G70 Garage Space Heater

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This heater is a lot smaller than I thought. It's just a little bigger than my PC!!! It's also lightweight. Very impressed with the size and weight. I have a two car garage and I usually exercise there. In summer time, everything is okay but during winter, it's really cold in the garage. It's still quite hot now, so I tested it early in the morning when the temperature is about 65 F. I turned it on for half an hour and about 20 mins later, the temperature was brought back to about 70 F. Quite happy with the result. Given it's small size, this one will be perfect for someone working in a garage or small warehouse.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I was very excited to obtain this for review as we actually have an additional 220 and 240 outlet in the garage and laundry room so thought this would be an easy install plus very needed item. Boy was I wrong. So, this arrived and it's much smaller than anticipated...not a bad thing per se because that makes it more manageable and easy to work with while putting out the same amount of heat. Here in Florida, we don't have horrible weather but do have several nights below freezing where the concrete floors and walls of the garage make it rather miserable.

So, right out of the box the first thing you will notice is the plug...it's not like any other plug I've seen and certainly not the same plug used for my laundry room, garage or any other 220 or 240 volt. Fair enough, this is a 230 volt. So, I look up the instruction manual to determine the right plug to purchase for a retrofit...and immediately see that the plug listed in the manual is NOT the plug on the unit. The plug in the manual is the same as that of my own units...this one isn't that plug whatsoever. The picture doesn't match. The plug doesn't match anything. Okay, so the manual isn't going to help.

I go down to the local hardware story lugging this little beauty in tow...by now I'm really glad it's no bigger than it is...only to find they don't carry that plug and haven't actually seen one like it either. At this point I'm getting a bit bent out of shape because apparently to purchase the right plug, I have to go to a specialty electric store which seems rather ridiculous for a product like this. Why put a specialty, hard to find plug on an item intended for the consumer market? In fact, why make so much extra work and effort...just use a standard plug! Even worse, if you are going to use a non-standard plug, by all means, actually note that in your own instruction manual and remain consistent.

I have the feeling that this ended up on Vine because of this exact type of inconsistency...the wrong plug for this device/market/instruction manual. Not sure if others experienced the same but plan on adding about $35 plus the time to track down the right plug should you get a unit like mine then add in the time/money to retrofit a plug etc. Additionally, this plug is apparently NOT conforming to US devices. All in all, a completely unnecessary, time consuming and costly device. Stick with a ready-made version instead.
