Understand that when you receive your box, the filter itself will be unwrapped and will not have any identification on it. If your box arrives unsealed (and 2 of my boxes have) you may suspect a scam when the outside package is genuine, and an unscrupulous reseller has replaced the contents with junk.
Nordic says that they don't print the Nordic name on their product to save money. They do print the size and air flow direction, so adding their name won't change their cost. At best, it allows them to manufacture for bulk sale to other companies. Wonder who is reselling re-branded Nordic filters, and do they cost less???
Printing an ID on the filter...
1) Adds marketing push to the Nordic brand,
2) Assures the consumer they've received the quality they think they are purchasing, and
3) Puts the Nordic name in front of the consumer when filter replacement time comes.
I can't assure you that I received a MERV 12 filter, but it does resist airflow more than the MERV 8 filter I replaced does. This could just be thicker filter material or reduced surface area, not better material that will stop more and smaller particles. Nordic, despite the product picture, doesn't identify the filter as even Nordic, let alone MERV 12. {Minus 1 star.}
PS: Other vendors such as Honeywell have upgraded their standard filter MERV rating. If I re-order the part number on Honeywell sticker on my furnace, I will now get a MERV 11 instead of the old MERV 8, and pay the lower MERV 8 price. {Minus 1/2 star.}
PPS: What Nordic calls a 4" filter is actually 3 1/2 inches thick. Other vendors 4" filters are actually 4 3/8 inches thick. Measure your old one, and read the manufacture's dimensions CAREFULLY. {Minus 1/2 star.}

These filters appear to be doing a good job. We're seeing less dust around the house which is great.One comment once I got the filter out of the box there wasn't any info on the filter itself documenting the MERV level, and in fact the shipping box was somewhat unclear as to whether I had received a MERV 12 or MERV 13 filter. To Nordic's credit they answered the phone, talked to me about the product and how they make it, and I was convinced I made a good purchase.
I will certainly look to Nordic Pure as my go to filter in the future. Very nice company, good product, good price.
