This product looks great in pictures but leaves much to be desired in person. The metal fire bowl is so small that unless it's pitch black outside there is no visible flame. This item also begins falling apart after a couple months outdoors so you can't just leave it sitting on a patio table. Overall, the concept of this item is far superior to its actual existence.

I loved the idea of this, especially a portable heat source that adds ambiance. The reality doesn't quite live up to what it is, though. I would recommend it for outdoors only. The glass and fire effect is pretty. The detraction why I give it 3 stars:

1) The main departure is that it is not really a clean burn in that if used indoors, one does smell fumes. The odor is not overly strong but it is noticeable and present. Where there are fumes, there is something a person is breathing besides clean air.

2) It's a sterno can basically. When indoors it looks like one because the rim is higher by about 1/2" over the stones (which is not seen in the ad photo). so when looking at it, unless you pile a lot more rocks up, you see the can. If you're using it on a patio, that would be less noticeable.

3) It's a little overpriced for what it actually is, and the fuel is hugely expensive for about 2 hours or less per can.

If you're having an outdoor party and want some nice jumping flames for a couple of hours, then this is good to consider as decor, maybe lining up three or more of them.
