The wax will melt entirely, so most likely you will not be able to light the candle again because the wick will drift, and you'll probably want to entirely remove it with tweezers or tongs. What you'll find is that even though the amount of wax will stay fairly constant, the candle scent will weaken over time, so you may want to try adding some essential oil prior to turning on the warmer or blending several candles together. If you want this for daily use around your home, you may want to pick up a few warmers and also look for some good deals on small jar candles. Since the wax will melt entirely, you can get creative and combine candles taking care not to burn yourself because the melted wax will be hot. You cannot burn the candle and use the warmer at the same time. The other nice thing about this warmer is that you can take it with you when you travel because it's lightweight and won't take up much space. It is also suitable for use in a bedroom, dorm room or other place where an open flame would not be a good idea. You can also use candle tarts or scent tarts if you put them in a glass container, but it is generally recommended that you melt 3.5 oz. to 18 oz. of wax at one time. Enjoy!
I still love these and I have them distributed around my house. They work really well, and you will get a lot more hours out of your candles if you use this warmer. They make a great gift for anyone!
I bought 3-oz. candles at CVS (pumpkin, sugar cookie, evergreen, Christmas spice) for $1 (or less when on sale) and they last and last. CVS sells these seasonal scents from Candle-lite and they work perfectly with this warmer.
The other thing that you need to know is that the on/off switch often requires you to turn it on several times until you see the red light. Also sometimes if the power goes off and then comes on, these warmers will turn on as well, so it's good to place them where it will never be a problem for them to come on when you aren't expecting this to happen.
I definitely advise against metal tin candles, but they will work in a pinch.
Highly recommended product.
June 11, 2012 I still highly recommend this product. This is a very good solution for adding fragrance to your home. The CVS candles for 99 cents are a good way to have long-lasting scent. One warmer can scent two to three adjacent rooms. I keep one in the kitchen and it "wafts" into the dining room and living room.

I really dig this candle warmer. I guess it doesn't immediately scent the place as the one writer complained, but I like the "set it and forget it" feature. After awhile, the scent fills the whole floor. I don't mind waiting a little bit for the scent to form. That's good enough for me -plus, you don't have the hassle with sooty air conditioner filters, dirty air, and open flames. I use the very large Yankee candles and I haven't had to wait long for the scent to fill the air. Maybe there might be a problem if you use the small candles. I used to go through candles so fast but using this candle warmer, the candle seems to last forever. What a cost savings!! I bought an extra one to use in my office as a coffee warmer for a big mug of hot coffee. It really keeps it lovely and hot. Plus, I love the auto shut off feature -it's hard to find that in a coffee warmer. Update Mar 2013: My warmer is still chugging along and I use it several times a week. It's a winner.
