While the fireplace container itself, and the fake flame looks really nice, I was quite disappointed in the heat output. Maybe the space I'm trying to heat (1/2 finished basement) is too large, but it seems like the fan didn't throw the heat out far enough to heat seated locations that are only about 10 ft away. By the time the heated air gets that far, it's already at the ceiling (only 7 ft high), so while standing up you can feel some heat, seated you are still cool, even after it running for a couple hours. I'll probably try moving it upstairs to my living room, which is a smaller space. Maybe it will heat that room better.

I ordered this unit on May 10th and was told I would have it by the 21st; I received it on the 16th! In testing the unit's heater I only turned it on for a minute or two before it was too hot to test further, considering it was a 80 degree day outside. I have no doubts that it will heat the first floor of my home. The flames do, in fact, look relatively realistic considering. The remote works well, even though it is cheap looking. The wood cabinet looks like a quality piece of oak, considering it really is pressed board. I will never own another piece of furniture that is pressed board, but this unit will fool most people in believing it is real wood. The casters are fluid and roll smoothly across my wood floors. There are many types, sizes and varieties of fake fireplaces that cost a lot more then this little unit, however, for only $349.00 to get all the feature you get with this unit (remote control, shut-off timer, adjustable flame brightness, and built in thermostat) you are getting a great product.

After 3 returns of a similar fireplace that arrived with huge gashes and tears in the boxes that were sold from Amazon, we decided to try one more time to purchase a fireplace from a different seller. So glad we did!!! This arrived in a protective cardboard box, the fireplace has no damage at all and it works great!! The oak cabinet is very nice also!!! It's quiet, and the flames look real!!

On a side note, Amazon was very understanding about us feeling uncomfortable accepting the previous fireplaces in the condition the boxes were delivered in, so I want to mention that they have excellent customer service! I have been a long time customer with them and that won't change. My hope is that after this experience they will improve the conditions the large items are being shipped in.
