This unit does a great job heating my workshop. The bracket allows me to mount it to my ceiling so it doesn't take up any additional space. It is much quieter than the last heater I had. It's alot of power for the price. I would recommend it.

I bought this to heat a mostly insulated 3-car garage workshop. This unit would struggle to heat this much space in a severe climate but our winters here in the Pacific Northwest are fairly mild. My garage is quite comfortable to work in after an hour or so when outside temperatures are in the 35 to 40 degree range. The unit is thermostatically controlled so you just need to let the space get to the temperature you want and turn the dial on the back down until the heater turns off. From there it will turn itself on and off as needed. It is a bit on the loud side, but isn't nearly so loud as the power tools I'm using. I suspect this would be quite expensive to run if you used it to heat a garage all winter, but it's fine if all you want to do is heat it a day or two a week. The upside is that this has made my garage workshop useable year round and I don't have to wait until spring to begin work on projects.

We used this item in our Kidding barn for our goats....it needs to be 45-50 degrees in the barn when the kids are born and the heater kept the 18 X 40 ft barn toasty during February in South Dakota.

Honest reviews on Dimplex CUH05B31T 3750/5000-Watt Compact Industrial Unit Heater

Found this unit to be convenient and efficient for heating my garage and basement. I purchased two of these and wired them up with a plug so that they are not permanently installed. In this way they are portable. They are capable of bringing the temperature in my garage from freezing to a comfortable 60 degrees. Depending on how cold my garage is, I do believe that the units are sufficient for most cold days. Unfortunately, my garage is not insulated, including my door which is aluminum. In that case, if the temperature drops into the low twenties or below, I think this unit would have a hard time coping with raising the temperature to a comfortable level to use tools. But, for most applications, this unit works well enough. I did have one problem with one of the units. The temperature switch was defective and because it was out of warranty, I literally had to take the switch apart to fix the unit. You should also be aware that if you turn off the unit while it is in its heating, the fan will continue to run in order to cool down the coil sufficiently before it will shut off.

Heater was installed using 208V about 4 weeks ago in a large electrical room. I have the built in thermostat set to 4 and the Dimplex heater keeps the upper part of the 14' high cielings very warm, the lowerpart of the room is cool but comfortable. I might install a cieling fan to push the warm air down.

I bought this heater for my daughter's nursery. Her room is always a little colder than the rest of the house and I wanted to add a few degrees with a heater that was extremelly safe for children and absolutely quiet. I wanted a short heater that would be safe in case my child tips it over. Also, this one is small and looks nice in white. This heater did the job, even though I was doubting at first. We got rid of the initial smell by running the heater in the garage at full temperature for one day. This was specified in the instructions, which said that they cover the heater with some protecting layer for shipping. The heater was quiet for many weeks, and then one day starting making some noise. I discovered that it was due to some bubbles that were produced when my daughter tipped it over. The solution was to gently shake the heater a little, which I think removed all bubbles. After that, we haven't had any noise. The most important part is that we set this heater at lower heating, and that is enough to raise the temperature in the room a few degrees. This works very nicely for us because the heater is not too hot to the touch and it safe even if my daughter wants to touch it. In terms of the manual regulation, I think that there are some advantages. Electronic settings tend to break often, so having all manual settings will make for a more durable machine. To set the temperature, you have to wait until you feel the proper temperature has been reached and then lower the thermostat until it clicks. This is not as convinient as just setting a temperature with a number dial, and that is why I give only four stars to this review. On the other hand, sometimes is better to determine the right temperature by how it feels in the room betten than by what the machine says. Finally, regarding the timer setting, we don't use it that much because my husband prefers to unplug the heater when we are not home, but it seemed to me very easy to figure out and quite practical. You can set it every 15 mins on and off and all you have to do is move the little pegs in or out. Very straighforward.

I have this heater in my bathroom since it's been cold in winter, and it helps a lot. It's true though that this makes a wicked crack sound when it's off but it does not bother me that much. Just few times at night.

Other reviews cover this well. It heats as well as I need it to, very small, compact, silent and it heats a 15' square room with no problem.

As others noted, it's kind of a pain not to have an "on" switch. You have to use the timer whenever you want it on.

Don't buy it. looks great, but this is the second deLonghi heater that died after a short period of time.

It "broke" while being used, not long after I received it. I called the company and could have returned it, but it seemed like such a big job, I never did.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I obtained this product to use in the area of my flat where I keep my computer. Since office buildings often are extremely over-heated in winter, the heat which it produces should be suited to those who tend to become chilled easily. I tried it in October, well before the season when I'd be placing my thermostat at the 65 where it remains all winter, and found it produces only minimal heat. Whether it will get me through the winter chill I cannot say.

It does have some drawbacks. It's compact size and cord holder are definite 'pluses,' and it is energy efficient. However, the directions cautioned against placing it on a desk or tabletop, and instructed that it should be three feet from furniture and fabrics. I was unable to feel much heat from a distance of three feet, and I also would question whether many people would have enough space to keep such an appliance that distance in open space.

I bought this for my cubicle area, since the building management keeps all the offices so cold. I love it so much.

It's a lot smaller than I had imagined it to be, but this thing packs some heat!

I love the fact that it is so quiet. I keep it under my desk, and I can't even hear it.

PROS: Quiet. Compact. Packs some major heat,

CONS: The High setting gets too hot sometimes, while the Low setting doesn't get hot enough. Wish there was a Medium option.

I would definitely recommend this product to anyone out there. M

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program The Bionaire Office Heater is really well designed for its purpose: to heat your immediate workspace. It's reasonably quiet, which is really important in this context, and it emanates a good amount of heat to keep you comfortable when there's a chill. It's a very basic device: no thermostat, no oscillation/rotation.

Having the motion sensor is also a very good feature. The office or plant manager doesn't like it when employees waste electricity by leaving a heater going all day. This one turns off itself when there's no motion nearby after about 15 minutes.

Right now my wife is using it at her desk in school (she's a teacher). When winter is over, we're planning to use it in the bathroom in our little, unheated spring/summer/fall cottage where nights and mornings are cool all year round. I'll update this if I actually do get to try it out in that setting.

Honest reviews on Bionaire BCH4562E-GM Office Heater with Worry Free Motion Sensor

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program ...and this is the perfect little heater for those who do.

We have not had sufficiently cool weather where I live to give this a thorough test. I took it to the country with me where I borrow a friend's unheated cabin occasionally, but the coolest it got at night was mid 50s. Still, that's chilly enough to want some comforting warmth. I plugged in the heater and was surprised at how well it and now quickly it warmed things up.

I was not expecting much because the thing is very dinky. It's less than one foot high (official measurements: 7.2 x 9.4 x 11 inches). But be warned, it is a localized heat. It will not warm up a room, just a couple of square feet. Which is plenty for an office, for for nights when you are nestled in a chair with your book and just want a little extra warmth. If you place it under the desk, your feet will be very warm, but not so much the rest of you, although you can feel some difference. I'd put it to one side so the heat can rise and not be trapped under the desk, or just put on an extra pair of socks and put the heater right on the desk if it was very cold. It doesn't take up much room and can feel warm without being buried up to the eyeballs in sweaters.

The Motion Sensor feature is fun, in that it somehow senses you are gone (I once married a man who didn't know I went away for the weekend...he said thought I was taking longer than usual in the shower). This is not only a safety feature (in the heater, not in the husband because nothing could save him), but also fun. You can try sitting very, very still and fooling the device into thinking you have gone. It can't find you but it didn't sense you leaving. You can almost see the mystified look on its little face, little worry lines forming, as it wonders: "Where did she go...I didn't feel her leave...did I doze off on the job? Did she fall? I can't even call out to her...what have I done? God Forgive Me..." and just when the little thing is at the edge of an emotional breakdown, you wriggle around and say "Fooled Ya!"

When you live alone, you do things like this. Cut me some slack, okay.

Anyway, this is an excellent little gizmo, very compact. It puts out an ideal amount of heat, not too hot, not too cold. It is perfectly quiet, no irritating humming noise, and that automatic shut off is an excellent feature. There is a place on the back where you can wrap the cord when not in use, although I do prefer leaving it out so I can trip over it. It adds a little excitement to the day.

If you are one of those people who hate airconditioning and make other people in the office miserable by always sneaking the dial up to 78, this is for you. If you want to warm a small area, relax with little extra heat, and not worry about falling asleep without shutting the machine off, this is ideal. And if you enjoy sitting on the porch or patio when the weather turns cool, this will keep you nice and comfortable.

And the price is right too.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program PROS:

1. Small size makes it great for the office. Unobtrusive.

2. Generates surprising heat. Even on lowest settings.

CONS:

1. A little loud for me. A subtle hum. Some may find it soothing as white noise.

2. Heat doesn't distribute. Heat emanates intensely directly in front of device for a short distance. If you move it back enough the heat feels more dispersed, but this isn't a "general area" heater. It heats directly in front of itself. Maybe creative placement could help this issue.

3. It wobbles. Distracting. It's only perceivable because the power button isn't quite secure and jiggles constantly. Might just be the one I received.

I received this item only to find that it is only a heater, not a heater and humidifier like is advertised. Be aware of this mistake in the product descriptions if you are thinking of buying this product.

Come on, man! Damn. If I had known it was only a heater and not a humidifier, I'd have chosed one of the other hundreds of gizmos that are only heaters. I got this one specifically because of the humidifier feature. I want my money back!

We live in an old house and use space heaters. We have baby twins and the humidifier option on this heater is a must have. If you want a less dry heat, this is perfect.

Honest reviews on SPT SH-1506 Ceramic Heater with Humidifier

Apparently they still have this problem. I had assumed they had fixed it by now. I can't imagine why they haven't. They are sending people the WRONG PRODUCT. I actually didn't mind the different heater they sent so I just kept it. Note it does NOT have a humidifier if that's what you were focusing on.

Heater works great, the only-fan feature not as well... it really doesn't blow much air.
