I really like this small heater, which also has the capacity to be used as a cooker. Easy to use and quite stable, it's great for heating small areas.

Mine arrived from Poorfish in great shape and I would recommend it to anyone needing a small heater with great versatility. Though it's not the "easy start" version, a match will light it in a second.

My favorite heater. I have an older version of this heater which will only run at 9,000 BTU. No Oxygen sensor. You can cook on it or heat whatever or where-ever you wish. Use it on your boat, in your tent, or in your cabin high in the mountains, or just about any place that you wish.

Remember to keep a window or vent open because this thing will suck the oxygen out of the air.

And also remember that the edges of it get extremely hot.

Gas bottles last about 5 hours at 9,000 BTU.

Trust me, the low setting will be enough in most small room-size spaces in most situations, unless you are in the Arctic in a blizzard.

The item shipped quick and in perfect working condition. Couldn't be happier thanks. I have used the cooker in my fatfish eskimo and it heats it up like nothing. Minus 35 is no problem for this little heater.

I use this in my portable 4 person ice fishing house, and it works great. It heats it up to t-shirt temperature after a few minutes. I usually have to turn it of so that I don't start sweating. Make sure to give it some room though because it will melt things. When I want some hot chocolate, I flip it over and set a kettle on top of it to heat up some water. It gets it boiling in a few minutes.

The transformer worked, but had corrosion on the frame and bent connectors: hardly new condition. It was shipped in a flat envelope with only wrapped in a layer of paper with a few plastic peanuts, obviously packed by someone unconcerned repeat business.

I recently purchased the SUNHEAT Electronic Infrared Zone Heater. I bought this product for my father who sleeps in a reclining chair at night. He wanted a heater that would warm the air in the room and after using it for less than a day, he said the room felt more comfortable and it was easier for him to relax and sleep. The product works better than expected and it is quieter than I thought it would be. My only complaint, [if you want to call it a complaint], would be that the remote control buttons are difficult to use for someone who has limited strength in their fingers. I definitely would not let this influence my decision in buying another one of these heaters, but it is something to think about if the person using it has limited hand strength, such as someone who is handicapped or is elderly.

This Sunheat has a 3-year warranty if you check with others in the same price range you'll probably find a one year warranty that, in some cases, does not cover labor. It has a wood cabinet not metal or plastic and nice digital readout. And most important it works great! And will last for years not just one year. I feel Sunheat is not that well known compared to mass advertised brands but it is the best heater for the money. I trust it because I have oil heat in my home and I refuse to pay around $4.00 per gallon I heat using two infrared heaters and two radiator heaters in a mild climate in winter of 20 to about 50 degrees my house is about 1200 sq ft., Over oil heat I save a least $200 per month and I am nice and toasty warm. Their other heater has a 5 year warranty and you can't go wrong with that.

The only disappointment I have is that on the SUNHEAT website, they imply they are a US company, only the cabinet is made in the US. (at least that's something). The unit itself is from China. Looks nice and works well, I have no complaints.

Update: 4/17/2013 Unit has never been in a damp area, yet the cabinet is starting to delaminate on the top front edge. Also, on the rear where the intake filter screen is located the chassis was not drilled correctly for the assembly screws causing the sheet metal to be rippled. This keeps the screen from fitting correctly. Poor Chinese workmanship.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Hello,

My Frigidaire OWF-10303 Oslo Wall Hanging LED Fireplace arrived today and right away I unpacked it and set everything up. It arrived double boxed keeping the unit safely packed including the glass front. A double folded edge steel plate is included for wall hanging, this type of hanger is easy to use and strong. The fireplace weighs 44 lbs. so be sure to screw the hanger plate into at least two studs, the more the better. Once hanging or placed add the included opaque white stones along the bottom inside the firebox, they look like glowing coals when the LED flames are running. Next you need to mount he glass, it goes on very easy but does weigh a bit. Once running the fire looks almost real! you can change colors from green to red to blue or a combination of colors at once, I prefer the orange fire as it looks like a real fire. The heater is a basic resistance wire that looks like it came out of a hairdryer, I'd rather it have a quartz tube element but it is what it is. It gives off plenty of heat pushed by a blower with high and low settings, a vent in the top is where the heat comes out. You can run the LED flame with or without the heater running so it can be used year round. This would look great placed inside a regular fireplace, it fits in mine and looks very real in that location. A remote control is included too, you can control the heat settings plus change the LED flame color. I do hear motor noise when the LED flame is running alone,it isn't loud but noticeable if near the unit.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Right out of the box, the Frigidaire OWF-10303 Oslo Wall Hanging LED Fireplace is fairly easy to install. The manufacturer provides a steel mounting plate which simplifies the installation. But, since the fireplace weighs approximately 40 pounds, it is critical that you find wall studs when mounting the plate. We would also recommend having at least two people since after adding the pebbles you need to mount the glass. It isn't heavy, but it is somewhat awkward for one person. The LED "fire" is fairly realistic when set to ORANGE. The color changing feature seems somewhat unnecessary to us since changing the "flame" to any other color than orange makes the unit look completely unrealistic. The unit provides a decent amount of heat; but it comes from vents on the top of the unit which doesn't make a lot of sense to us since heat rises. We also are a little concerned about the amount of heat it produces so close to the wall. Fortunately, there are both high and low settings on the heater fan, and the "flame" can be run with or without the heater on. The remote control is a nice feature; but, as stated, we will only be using it to turn the "flame" and/or heater on and off -not to change the color of the flame. We bought the "fireplace" for our bedroom. Be aware that the unit emits a dull motor noise even with only the "flame" effect on. If you need silence to sleep, this could be a deterrent. Personally, we would have liked to see the manufacturer include a faint "crackling" sound. We think it could have made the unit seems just a little more realistic, and we also think it may have compensated for the dull motor noise. Our final conclusion is that the "fireplace" is average, and based on our experience it is too expensive to be considered a good value for your dollar.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program The fire in this picture is much more interesting than the pretend fireplaces you can play on the television. I have a couple of the videos, one in blu-ray even, and they seem to run on a ten second repeat that makes it kind of cheesy. The picture on this fireplace, especially once the colors kick in, makes it a lot more interesting and playful.

Probably one of the most important parts of the installation is the decision of where on the wall you would like it up higher where it can be viewed as a picture, or lower, where you can sit next to it and toast your feet while you are reading a book.

This is best a one time decision as the molly anchors that fit into the wall are large and make a serious row of holes across the wall. There are five of them that hold a long bracket on the wall. You don't want to move it around and repair all of those. The bracket is what the unit hangs on. There are two more on the lower side that give an added sense of security and more importantly, to hold the unit about 1/8 an inch away from the wall for airflow.

Anyway, we placed it lower because the heat comes out of the top of the fireplace. I'm sure that made sense in terms of not letting the heat come back into the unit. However, if you put it up higher on the wall, then the heating part becomes useless as heat will not flow downward.

Some hints to make it easier: Before we started moving anything around, we removed the glass from the front of the unit as that seems to account for most of its weight and fragility. It is much easier to move the unit around without it. We used a spirit level to make a straight line along the wall for the bracket. We used a ¼ inch drill bit to put the molly anchors in. The installation took about a half an hour.

My last and most important consideration is that placing this low on the wall means that children and pets are vulnerable to it. The glass is heavy and the corners are sharp.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I have the Dallas model version which is portable and can easily transported from one room to another. The Oslo model is bigger and is intended to be mounted on a wall. Instead of logs, it comes with a bag of real white rocks that you spread on the bottom to enhance the effect.

Pros:

wonderful color display

includes a remote control

no assembly required

Cons:

the front glass panel has a wide black frame which significantly decreased the area of the actual display.

It is mainly a light show and it is not even close to what an real fire looks like.

if you are buying this for heating the space, you will be disappointed

Not extremely loud but still makes noise even no heater is on.

No authentic fire log crackling noise. Fireplace DVDs give you better experience on audio.

It is blowing air on the top (as opposed to the portable "Dallas" model

Caution:

The front glass panel can easily detached. Be careful when lifting this off the ground during installation.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I thought I was going to just LOVE this, and after trying to figure out where to put this, I found this to be not as awesome as I thought it'd be. This is just an odd fit in our house, our living room already has a real fireplace, so we tried it around the family room? Nope, bedrooms? Nope. In the fireplace? It sadly didn't fit. I didn't like the way this looks anywhere, it does look tacky, it's not like having a gas fireplace.

I do also have a high concern of any effects on my wall from the heater over a period of time, since this seems fairly new, I haven't found any reviews on problems, well honestly, if you search around, you'll find only reviews on Amazon at the moment.

It's not as quiet as I'd like it to be, while no it's not obnoxious, it's not soothing to sit on your couch and hear your wall fireplace not making fire sounds.

Review of EdenPURE Signature Series Infrared Portable Heater

I live in a rural area and have been eaten alive by the high cost of heating my home with with LP gas. I heard about these heaters and talked to a friend who repairs hvac for his opinion. He said these eden pure heaters are really nice and use approx. $30 a month in electricity to run. I was skeptical until i received my first months elec. bill while using this heater. There was a 400kwh's increase from last decembers bill. at 6.6 cents per kwh, 6.6 cents x 400kwh = $26.40

I usually run this heater for 10-12 hours a day everyday and longer on weekends. The temp outside has been very mild so far this winter. Our average daily temp has been about 30 degrees and when the eden pure runs, my lp gas furnace is quiet and never cycles. This little beauty keeps it very comfortable for us. I would recommend to anybody! just leave your furnace set at your usual temp and then fire this thing up and you'll see true savings. I have a tri-level home and keep this in the bottom den on an inside wall. I opted for the signature model because it has higher wattage and a humidifier. A very nice heater and i'm very pleased with it! Would buy again!!

I have a 1200 sq/ft home and was getting tired of huge heating (gas) bill, decided to give it a try. I have had it close to one month and so far it works better than the old convection heater, but for $340 more I expected at least that much. We leave it on close to the highest temp. all the time and lowered our t-stat 2 degrees. It does not heat the whole house and the room it is directed at is still a little cold, but better than it was before. Still waiting on the first gas/electric bill to finalize my verdict, but overall I was expecting more than I got.

1500 watts gives you exactly 5118.15 Btu's. Heat can be radiated or convected, but with resistance heating you will never get more than 5118.15 Btu's. Edenpure forever has been duping people with a product that looks sexy, but tends to be unreliable and expensive as well. One of their promos actually touted the "original designer" as having discovered a revolutionary new type of heater which is pure hogwash. Go elsewhere and don't believe their bogus claims.

Really the only way to get high efficiency with electric heat is with a heat pump some of which are literally 6-8 times more efficient than the resistance type.

Honest reviews on EdenPURE Signature Series Infrared Portable Heater

Why on earth would anyone pay four hundred bucks for a 1500 watt electric space heater? You can buy the exact same amount of heating capacity for about one tenth of the cost at any hardware store. Oh, wait... sure, this one has a humidifier built into it. And umm... it also supposedly has a UV light bulb in it to sanitize the air.

The way that I look at it, though, if you are going to buy a heater then you should just buy a heater and be done with it. If you need a humidifier then buy one of those. Clumping together different components in the same cabinet is just asking for trouble.

And besides, do you know what a UV light bulb is supposed to do? It kills biological stuff, the stuff that just isn't present during the heating season. UV bulbs are great for killing off the slimy stuff that grows in the condensation drain pan of an air conditioner but they don't do a damn thing about the primary air contaminant present during heating season: dust. For that you need a really good air filter...preferably one connected to a central forced air system so that it cleans the air in the entire house.

As for the humidifier... well, it is true that humid air will make you feel warmer than dry air but this is usually a phenomenon that occurs in the summer when the air is already humid and you are working up a sweat at some physical activity like, say, cutting the lawn. And it's not very pleasant to feel sweaty, is it? A humidifier is good for several things in the heating season: keeping your sinuses from hurting, preventing damage to wood floors and furniture and keeping static electricity in check. But... in order to actually feel warmer (sweaty) you would have to raise the humidity level to the point where condensation begins to form on the insides of your windows. When that happens the water runs down the glass and damages the sill. Not good. By the way, you will get tired of having to continually refill the water reservoir pretty quick and then it won't humidify at all. Good humidification requires several gallons per day in a typical home...how many ounces of water do you think this thing can hold? If you need humidity in the heating season then shell out the bucks for a whole house humidifier that fills itself automatically and is controlled by a humidistat. That's the smart thing to do.

So... even though this miraculous heater has a built-in UV bulb air sanitizer and humidifier, these aren't exactly huge benefits...actually they border on uselessness. And besides, if one component decides to break then you are going to have to do without the entire thing while you send it in for repair. That's why separate components makes more sense from the standpoint of functionality.

Now aside from these two "features" you have the heater itself. It is a 1500 watt electric space heater in a faux wood cabinet with a remote control temperature adjuster. It has a little squirrel cage blower. It uses three 500 watt halogen light bulbs to produce heat. The heat warms some copper pipe that the fan blows air around. That's it. The fact is, though, that any 1500 watt heater (almost all of which are vastly more reasonably priced) will put out the exact same amount of heat.

Now someone else on this page spoke glowingly of how much money they saved by operating this thing instead of an LP (whole house) furnace. Bear in mind that yes, he is only heating ONE room rather than the whole house...definitely comparing apples to oranges there. But let's just take a look at some numbers...

First of all, almost no one in the USA pays 6.6 cents per kilowatt hour. Don't believe me? Look it up. An average price is way closer to 10 cents per KWH. And if you are "lucky" enough to live on the east or west coast then you are probably paying between 12 and 15 cents per KWH.

Second, the only way that this turkey is going to keep your furnace from operating is if it just happens to be parked in the same room as the forced air thermostat. If that is the case then you can bet dollars to donuts that the rest of the house is seriously under-served in terms of heating. If you live in a place where it gets really cold then operating an EdenPure near a forced air thermostat (or worse, turning the furnace completely off) could very well result in frozen and/or broken water pipes elsewhere in the house. But that's the "strategy" that EdenPure promoters push: Stay in one room with the electric space heater and seal off the rest of the house without any heat. That can really get you into trouble in cold climate parts of the country.

Okay, now back to the number stuff... Let's say that you have a 10 cent per kilowatt utility rate. Let's also say that the heater is on 50% of the time. There are 720 hours in a thirty day month so that would be 360 hours for 50% operation. 1500 watts x 360 hours is 540 kilowatt hours. Multiply that against a ten cent rate and you get 54 bucks. Think about that for a second or two: 54 bucks to heat ONE small room in your house for a month. And remember, that is assuming that it's only on for half the time. What if it's on for 2/3's of the time? Or 3/4's of the time? Yikes! Not good, campers, not good at all. And holy cow, what if you live in New England where it's cold AND the electric rate is over 15 cents a KWH? Double yikes!

EdenPure is basically promoting the idea here of heating one room in your house and either not heating or severely under-heating the rest of your home. If this is your idea of comfort then have at it. Me? I'm thinking that if you can't afford to heat your house properly then maybe you have a little too much house.

Seriously, though, if you want to save money on heating then instead of using this stupid overpriced electric heater idea, why not invest in some actual energy saving home improvement stuff? Seal up air leakage points on the building exterior walls. Improve the insulation values in the ceilings. Insulate your water pipes. Is your floor insulated? You would be surprised at how many people live in a house with an un-insulated floor built over a ventilated crawl space. There are all kinds of energy saving ideas out there that you can use to lower your monthly utility costs. Most of them are pretty easy to do and once you do them the improvements are good forever.

The bottom line here is this: Electricity is your worst heating value (unless you operate a heat pump but that's another story). The EdenPure is a ridiculously overpriced portable electric space heater. There are vastly cheaper portable electric space heaters that deliver the exact same amount of heat regardless of the nonsense claims made by the EdenPure hucksters. Sometimes you DON'T get what you pay for. The EdenPure would be one of those times.

*And one more thing: Anytime I see someone gushing over what a great value the EdenPure is, I'm thinking they are probably selling EdenPure heaters.

Consumer Reports, February 10, 2010:

Heating Claims Don't Add Up

Manufacturers of electric space heaters want you to believe that using one of their devices will lower your heating bill. Lowering your home's thermostat(s) and using your main heating system less in tandem with a space heater--called zone heating--will cut your utility bill. (Every degree you lower the thermostat(s) can save you about 2 percent on your heating bill.) But keep in mind that based on current national average prices and adjusting for the energy losses due to burning a fuel, heating with electricity is about two and a half times more expensive than heating with gas, the most common heating fuel in this country.

EdenPure suggests that "you can turn the heat down in your house as low as 50°F, yet the room you are in will be warm and comfortable. When you move to another room, the EdenPure goes with you. Its wheels make relocation a snap." That scenario assumes that you have to heat only a single room to heat at a time or that you own multiple EdenPure space heaters; that once you're in a room you stay put and don't move around the house; and that you're willing to keep the rest of your home at a chilly 50°F. Lowering the thermostat(s) by 3°F would likely result in minimal discomfort for you and your family, but are you willing to keep your home at 50°F?

...Its design essentially negates the radiant-heating effect, so it operates more like a typical fan-forced convection heater. While a fan can help mix the room air, there is typically some temperature variation, with cooler air near the floor and warmer air near the ceiling.

Humidity Information Seems All Wet

EdenPure says its heaters "protects the humidity level and air quality important to breathing comfort and personal health," and also notes that "Heat from the copper tubing rides the humidity in the room and provides moist, soft heat--ceiling-to-floor, wall-to-wall--without reducing oxygen or humidity."

Simply put, when you heat a room with any space heater and don't also have an additional source of humidity, say a humidifier, the total moisture in the air in that space will stays the same but the relative humidity will go down, not up. That's true for every space heater we've tested...

I ordered this on a Friday night and received it on Wednesday, shipped out of Dallas. I shopped around, the amazon price was way lower than everywhere else online. It arrived in two extremely heavy boxes. The wood piece were in one box in 11 pieces: the top piece, the bottom piece, the insert for the bottom, etc. The instructions said that it would take an hour to assemble. For us it took an hour and a half and lots of cursing the seemingly too small wooden dowels and the "loose" construction of the facing, from opening the box to getting set in the right spot. The "firebox" was in the second box. Getting the cement "logs" in there just right was confusing and the "decorative ember rocks" seemed kind of pointless, but I did stack them in the bottom of the firebox and I suppose when the fuel finally arrives from another retailer we'll see if they're worth it. It definitely requires two people for construction, mostly for keeping the facing pieces steady while they're being assembled. In our instructions, the holes were backward in one place, but that didn't take rocket science to swap the hardware. That being said, put together it's gorgeous and seems quite sturdy. I can't wait to hang Christmas stockings on it and light it!

This little heater didn't look like much on the shelf at the store where I bought it--plastic casing looked flimsy, and I worried it wouldn't last. The 3-year warranty, however, gave me a boost of consumer confidence, and I decided to give it a shot. When I got home and took it out of the box, I was disappointed. The casing indeed looked flimsy, and I expected the unit be bigger, especially in terms of depth, based on the dimensions of the box.

I was surprised then when it turned out to pack quite a punch! It warmed up its surroundings immediately, and I ended up leaving it on all night--it kept the room comfortably warm all night. It doesn't seem flimsy at all any more--just a lightweight unit that does a surprisingly good job! With confidence borne of the 3-year warranty, I'm entirely satisfied with my purchase. I'm glad I took a chance on this little heater.

This item does everything the manufacturer claims. All cookware can now be used on an induction cook-top, the tri-ply disk distributes the heat evenly, and the silicone handle is comfortable to hold, remaining cool in use.

I have an aluminum pressure canner, a non-stick hard-anodized sauce pan reserved for milk-based sauces and custards, a glass vacuum coffee pot, and several other items of cookware made of non-magnetic materials which are not induction compatible. Were it not for these items, I would not have bought this interface which effectively reduces the controllability, instant response, and efficiency to below that of a radiant cook-top.

Buy this item if you must retain cookware which is not induction compatible it will work well with them.

BUT... it makes absolutely no sense to hobble an induction cook-top's capabilities after paying its premium cost.

AND... It is far more than twice the price I would expect to pay for this item when comparing it with the price of an economy set of tri-ply, induction compatible cookware (which can now be found for around $150).

Sooner or later a competitor will challenge this manufacturer's monopoly and prices will fall. Until then it merits a very reluctant overall score of 4 stars. Were it not for my "special" items of cookware, this would warrant 2 stars.

We bought this to use our awesome Max Burton induction burner with some aluminum pans.

Put it on the burner, put an aluminum fry pan on top, with eggs in the pan, turned on the induction burner, and we waited...

Half a second later, there was a series of loud metallic pops. This kind of freaked us out, as you don't normally see that kind of behaviour in major appliances.

Upon immediately turning it off, we examined everything and noted rather large blisters in the thin metal sheeting on this disk. It no longer sat flat, and very little of the disk would make contact with the burner any more.

It lasted an incredible half of a second before breaking.

We contacted the company from which we bought it on Amazon (don't remember who it was so consider this review to be of the item, not the seller), and heard nothing back.

Fifty bucks flushed down the toilet.

NOT recommended.

This interface disk worked great when boiling water in my NON-magnetic tea kettle... And it DOES let you use just about ANY pot or pan you own on an induction cooktop. BUT, for it's simple design and manufacturing, the price is DOUBLE what it should be !!!!!! Go ahead, bite the bullet.. what else can you do to be able to use your existing pots and pans ?? By the way, 4 cups of water boiled 30 seconds FASTER using this AND the Burton induction cooktop, than it did on my smooth glass cooktop on high ! I just HAD TO compare the two !!!!

Honest reviews on Max Burton 6010 8-Inch Induction Interface Disk with Heat-Proof

I thought this interface disk would be a nice adjunct to the old pans, especially popcorn popper that wouldn't work on the new induction oven. I was wrong! Just today, I tried it for the first time on popcorn. When the "test" kernels weren't popping, I checked the temperature of the bottom of the pan. It was MUCH too low. Then I checked the induction plate temperature with both a digital probe as well as infrared temperature. Way Low! I switched to a regular induction pot and the temperature zoomed right up and the popcorn was done promptly. In order to shake the pot and not scratch the glass top surface, I placed a paper towel underneath during cooking. While it browned a bit it worked like a charm and I was able to shake the pan on the cook top without it scratching.

I hope you read this and NOT buy this product! It was a waste of money!

I was really looking forward to purchasing an induction disk so that i could continue to use my non-induction ready pans on my new Kenmore Elite slide in stove. A few seconds later the stove went into error mode and the stove completely shut down and would not respond while the disk remained on the burner. The error code would not clear while the disk was on the stove. Once I removed the disk and replaced it with a magnetic pan, the error code went away and the stove resumed to work like a charm. I repeated the process several times. Each time the disk sent the stove into a error mode. Previously and since, the stove works great with all other magnetic fry pans and pots. I don't know why I had a problem with this disk. Perhaps other stoves would not experience the same difficulties.

Connected to a tested outlet the unit does not function except as an awkwardly shaped boat anchor.

Update: Well Traveled customer support responded well. After a series of emails they are sending a replacement head.

Update 2: With the replacement head installed the unit works fine. Heat output is immediate and up to the task of taking the chill off cold nights and mornings here on the edge of the Sonoran Desert. It is very sturdy. For us, this is a better alternative to the fuss and expense of a higher output propane model.

I use this heater almost every day. It's perfect for heating a small space and in just a few minutes it can raise the temperature of the target area to just about as hot as you want it.

If for instance you wanted to make it very hot in your bedroom, this gadget is perfect for that application. You don't need to heat the entire house, just keep this thing in your bedroom, point it at your bed, and plug it in. It's instantly hot.

The only downside is that it takes a LOT of power. A 20amp GFCI outlet is recommended and that's what I use. You probably can't have any other lamps or gadgets on that same circuit or it will blow the breaker.

Regarding customer service Because I use this almost everyday I blew out the heating element a few days ago. It has a one year warranty and customer service is sending me a new heating element for free! Very happy... I can't wait to get the replacement element so I can use it again.

Update 2/15/13. Still using this unit almost every day. Still working great. Only had to replace the bulb once.

Heavy and reasonably good quality materials. Putting it together was straightforward. The area it heats is small, but it's quite effective. Aesthetically, it's a very nice looking heater. A few criticisms, however:

The plastic wheels on the base don't turn.

One of the bolts supplied was stripped

The zipper on the plastic cover broke the first time we used it.

Make sure you plug it in to an outlet with a breakerit uses 1500w

Make sure it's off before you plug it in

Overall, a decent unit and a good value.

The unit works well, and heats most of our screened porch. The only problem is that it keeps tripping the circuit breakers no matter where we plug it in. No warning about that on any website before. We have to turn off all the outdoor lights, or some combination of that, to run the unit. Small compromise for staying warm while enjoying extended use of our porch as the weather cools.

This works as well as any infrared heater. Yes you do have to be better close if you are not in an enclosed area, but they all work that way. I like it for what it is. The stainless steel looks pretty cool outside. One warning note, use a heavy object to weigh it down. It will tip over like mine did during heavy winds.

This is an awesome heater! Its great for my home office and keeps it toasty warm. Its very nice looking, I love the remote, and the auto-temp is great. One of the main reasons I bought it though was for the timer, which is really important to me because Im always afraid of leaving it on. As soon as I walk in the room and turn it on with the remote, I automatically hit the timer also. BUT....my heater, the 8365, does NOT oscillate. The description for the heater says "the Air King 8365 offers a safe ceramic heating element, and widespread oscillation" and there is a button on the heater and the remote for oscillation, yet it doesnt do anything when I hit the button. Ive tried turning the temp way up, way down, all different things with no luck. There is a chart farther down that looks like it says the 8365 does not oscillate, so then why is it in the description & have buttons for it if it doesnt?? That makes no sense to me. Its not enough for me to send the heater back though. Just knocked a star off is all. I still love it!

This heater works great for my small office! I love that it has an auto-temp setting. The thermometer isn't always that precise, but I don't need it to be. Having the timer gives me peace of mind that I'm not going to forget to turn it off and burn the building down. This heater is easy to put together. The pedestal it is on is sturdy enough, but is not designed to be moved around a lot. It does not have an "auto off" in case the heater gets knocked over, like I've seen on other space heaters.

Love this heater, nice looking and functional. I like the oscillation feature and this thing puts out a bunch of heat.

A great buy!

Suppose to be an oscillating heater which never did oscillate. Heating function was ok for a small room. Will look for a better quality heater next fall.
