We sent our unit back for replacement. So far nothing, they've had it for a few days but didn't send one out until we called then said they'll send it out.
Poor product, poor customer support, poor relations with claims. No more Haier products for us.

You would think I would learn, but after originally purchasing this item it did not work properly and did not shut off when the bucket was full. It overflowed for days before we realized it and my carpet was ruined. The company seemed helpful and sent me a replacement one which we used for quite awhile with no problem until yesterday...same scenario, more ruined carpet and the company refuses to deal with me because my inital purchase was over a year ago. This is so frustrating because the whole purpose of having a dehumidifier is to keep the moisture out of the room, not to be soaking every towel you can find with the overflow and spending days trying to dry the area out before it mildews. I have two other dehumidifiers in other areas of the house that I have used for years with no problems and my thought is that they are manual and this one is digital. Never again. I've learned my lesson this time.Best Deals for Haier DE45EJ-L 45 Pint Electronic Dehumidifer, Energy Star Rated
Purchased this unit in July 2009. It worked fine for that summer and for 2010. Fan and compressor run, but it will not extract moisture in 2011. After the first year, parts are covered under warranty, but not labor. They do not have service stations.Honest reviews on Haier DE45EJ-L 45 Pint Electronic Dehumidifer, Energy Star Rated
This dehumidifier seems to work ok. It doesn't rattle and shake and it seems to suck moisture out of the air. However, there is a serious flaw with the hose coupling. Sure, it comes with a 3 foot cheap plastic hose that works just fine, but after 2 years, it developed cracks and needed replacement. I went outside and cut off a length off of an old garden hose, and it DID NOT FIT the bucket. I've never heard of a dehumidifier that wouldn't take a standard hose attachment. Good luck finding a replacement drain hose for it and the cap for the back was long gone after two years. If this happens to you, instead of contacting Haier, which I assumed would be as good at getting me a replacement as they were designing these things, try cobbling something together. Get some plumbers tape and wrap a bunch of it around the male end on the bucket (it is too small for a regular hose attachment). Wrap it until the female end of the hose barely fits on, then tighten the coupling. After that, wrap some more plumbers tape around the outside, until it is completely covered. Then cover with duct tape to make sure. That keeps the hose itself from leaking if it's prone to. Well, it works for now anyway. Bottom line; stay away from this poorly designed humidifier.
