I do like the heat that these little guys put out, but the controls leave a lot to be desired.
This thing has two settings: hot & sweltering hot. It has a dial control and it is supposed to find a temperatur setting that it will maintain by automatically turning on and off -but the 10:00 position never comes on, and the 1:00 position never shuts off.
I assumed that the other switch is an on/off switch, but it is actually low-heat/high-heat. I feel little difference between the two, and feel that the thermostat dial give plenty of control.
Not having an on/off switch means you can only truly turn the unit off by unplugging it. I use this in my office at work, which means two things -I definitely want to shut it off at night, and it is not easy to constantly plug and unplug. I have had to add an otherwise unneeded power strip just to have the ability to cut power via a switch.
This switch would make it a strong 4 out of 5 stars.
