This fireplace is very lovely. It has multiple light and heat settings. It is very attractive!! However, it is also a bit too loud. For the price, I expect it to be quieter. Our other complaint is that the top is not a solid piece, but made of 3 pieces. However, it is cute and looks nice in our corner and I am keeping it, but it was expensive and I wish I could figure out how to quiet the sound a bit.

Cute small but good looking flame. Arrived damaged on front upper molding and no response from seller when I reported same

Otherwise so far so good although I just received it in July and have not really used it for any period of time

I bought this window unit over 4 years ago and Ive used it every summer since. Every year when I bring it out of storage and plug it in, it works wonderfully. It keeps our home comfortable and it does not have a huge impact on our electric bill. Highly recommend!

AC unit is powerful and has a reassuringly even and gentle sound. One thing it is not, however, is quiet. If one uses it in a mobile home (my situation!) there is no part of the house where it is inaudible, at least with the doors open. I can deal with it as I like the sound, my insomniac spouse cannot.

This isn't a bad thing by any means. She is impossible to please. Just be aware of what you're buying a powerful, unobtrusive-sounding but loud cooling unit. Oh, and it can blow cold air in two directions at once which is awesome.

I bought this unit to put in my bedroom. This is an old farmhouse so the air circulates freely throughout the house in a circular manner with my bedroom being at the far end. That part of the house get warm. We already own a Fridgedaire and it just does not do much of anything at all even though it has more BTU's. Hubby suggested I get the 8,000 instead of a larger unit for my bedroom since it is a small area. On high cool this machine cools the whole house while the living room Fridgedaire is only an assist. Granted it is rather noisy but at night I put it on low cool or low dry and it does not bother me much at all. I would think that one would have to take this into consideration before buying. I preferred having the cool during the day and I am not sorry I bought this product in the least, it pushes out the cold air far into the room and the directional adjustment is far superior over the Fridgedaire. I Highly recommend the Artic King over other units if you want cool.

It did raise the Electric bill but If you can afford an Air conditioner, you can afford the bill.

Got this for a 24x24 shop. I must say it is too small for the space. It will cool it down to about 80 degrees, which is tolerable. The packaging is what got me tho, very flimsy styrofoam packing inside for a 100 lb object. UPS beat it up pretty good, and the metal sleeve was bent. But the metal sleeve is very cheap anyway; I dropped the sleeve onto some sugar sand, and it bent it some more. Inside the unit , parts are labeled LG. You can look around and find the same spec unit in the LG brand, and save the extra money you will spend on this unit, because that is pretty much what you are buying.

The price was good with free shipping. The box arrived busted open the unit was almost falling out of it. The unit was to be installed in a through the wall application but the sleeve was bowed and I didn't want take take a chance that there was internal damages. The unit is waiting to be picked up for return and amazon in out of stock on this item so I'm back to looking for another vendor who has this unit in stock.

I purchased this unit online about 1.5 yrs ago. The sleek design is cool as is the air it produces. The initial setup time was around 30mins (you must assemble the plastic hoses and mounts), but I managed to get it running within 10min this year. The product works as designed and keeps my living room/kitchen at a constant 73 degrees (easily 400sq ft). I have not emptied any water from the drip valve in the rear so maintenance isn't an issue. The system is a bit noisy and definitely heavy (does have wheels) but we are talking 12,000 BTU. I would recommend this product to a friend or family member.

I consult for an association in the DC metro area and the building space they rent shuts off the AC on weekends and week nights. I've installed 5 rack mount servers and their related switches, routers, etc., in their network closet. This is shared with several telecom systems and back up power systems. This technology setup produces incredible dry heat and is torture on the electronics and media. Several times the servers have shut down due to thermal overload.

This closet is about 10' square with a 9 foot ceiling. The building's HVAC system is connected to this closet.

This unit has kept the closet to the set 76 degrees and only runs when the building's system is on standby as the building keeps the temp at around 74 and this closet has a supply that is wide open.

Installing this unit was painless, cut the drop ceiling tile to size, install included drop ceiling vent adapter, connect exhaust hose and plug in the unit. We've yet to trip the 15 amp breaker.

I gave this unit only four stars because the condenser fan (made of a reinforced plastic) disintegrated at the end of last year's cooling season. When the association fired up the AC this season they noticed it would only produce cold air for perhaps 2-4 minutes, then cycle to room temperature air.

As the case is, Royal Sovereign has just one part listed on its web site for this unit, a $15 replacement condenser fan. Well, today I replaced the fan and it took perhaps an hour. I even removed the 48 blades and assorted other plastic that was once the fan, none were left attached, the squirrel cage was demolished.

I could see where someone else might rate this unit a 2 or 3 if their fan catastrophically disintegrated, however, this unit, when running as it did all last season, was more than up to the task. Because other contractors, consultants, and personnel access this closet, I'm not all that uncertain that someone may have bumped roughly into the unit while it was running and caused the damage.

As the closet air is dry because of the heat produced by the electronics, I haven't, nor do I expect to, experience any issues with condensation.

This thing cooled my 100 degree room in no time. I live on the second floor and as we all know, heat rises! Well this thing really worked well. A bit pricey ($550 when I bought it), but soooo worth it. Put it next to our bed and it cooled down my husband with it's oscilating fan. Remote came in handy when we woke up in the middle of the night cuz we were freezing! I don't know why the other reviews were so poor; we think it's excellent! Not to mention the nice black and silver looks so much better than the clunky white ones we used to own.

Honest reviews on Royal Sovereign ARP-5012XH Portable Air Conditioner Dual Hose

While this product did cool my room a bit, it wasn't what I expected.

This product is extremely heavy and takes a lot of space. The dual hose window ventilation kit is a piece of junk! I had to use heavy tape just to keep it together. I am returning this product right away.

I am unable to report how this unit works because two different units shipped "badly" damaged. I spent a great deal of time researching 12k BTU units. This RS ARP-5012 fit the bill technically. I ordered one from another vendor returned damaged, and ordered the same from Amazon in hopes this would be OK. My mistake.

If I had paid attention to the packaging the first time, I would have noticed that there was very little protecting foam at the top of the unit. Both came in with the very thin, soft foam material broken and in the bottom of the box.

Beware of this manufacturer.

I purchased the Cobraco Sh101 Hand Hammered Copper Fire Pit with Screen (spark arrestor) 11 months ago. As can be expected of a screen that's exposed to high heat consistantly it's now rusted through and has big holes in it which renders it dangerous to leave unattended. I contacted the company directly and was told that since I didn't keep my proof of purchase they would not replace it. I completely understand this and offered to buy a replacement from them, but I was told that they don't sell them separately so my only option is to go spend another $270 for a whole new set.

I think the fact that they won't allow me to purchase a replacement part separately is a very unfriendly policy for their customers. I mean really, who keeps receipts from every purchase you make... particularly ones that have no moving parts?

The copper bowl itself has held up well...but if you decide to purchase this item make sure you keep your receipt because you'll need it to get your screen replaced within the first year!

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Up front, I want to note that this "portable fire pit" will do what it says it will do. However, it could have been designed infinitely better.

After having spent a lifetime at camping in the outdoors all over the country, and having earned my college degree in Parks and Recreation (which includes maintenance and design), and serving for 25 years as a park ranger/park manager, I can honestly say that I actually know a great deal about every sort of fire device which has ever been contrived. In fact, I have designed several myself.

Here we have a solid copper bowl, a steel three-legged support, a wire cover/screen, and a vinyl rain cover for when the unit is cool and not in use. The idea here is to build a fire in the bowl so that folks can sit around it, roast a few marshmallows or hot dogs on a stick, and enjoy the evening. You can do that. The company recommends that you put sand in the bottom of the bowl and I wholly agree with that. Here are my issues:

1. The copper is too thin. A really hot fire could potentially weaken the walls and possibly melt through over time (hence the sand in the bowl helps to alleviate this problem but I still would much limit the size/heat of the fire.)

2. The feet on the tripod support are entirely too small at the base. If you have the weight of sand and firewood in the bowl and the ground is soft, this thing is going to sink. If it sinks on one side only, this could cause some difficulties, depending upon how you are using the unit. I think it's also too flimsy. So you're probably going to need to set this up on some thin bricks if you plan to use this in your yard, (especially if you plan to use the same spot all the time.)

3. There are no air vents in the bowl. (This may have been an intentional design feature to keep the fire from getting too hot.)

4. Cleaning out the ashes, (without taking your sand with it), is somewhat of a hassle, a very slow and dirty project. This, I might add, is a problem with almost all campfire rings and fire pits. You MUST remove ashes after use because they are caustic and, (especially if water gets in the bowl), the bowl will deteriorate.

There are other minor issues but those are the four chief drawbacks as I see them. I would characterize the unit overall, as "a looker" rather than a highly functional unit. Given the materials used, I would have made it half the diameter that it is, thus making the copper twice as thick. The same goes for the tripod supports and I would also have added round foot pads which were at least six inches across. A few air holes low on the sides to enhance combustion would be nice too.

Using this unit for cooking, (such as a pot of beans, or laying a grill across the top) would definitely not be recommended.

I really liked the idea of the copper bowl in terms of quality materials but I think the designer got pretty far afield in terms of utility. I wish they would have called me (or another outdoor recreation professional) -I would have steered them in a superior direction.

In summary, if you want a small campfire, two or three evenings during the summer just to enjoy the night and entertain the kids a bit, then this will probably work for you. However, if I tried to use this unit as I do use my own portable fire pits, (I currently have two, both home-made), it would be in the junk-pile in about a week.

Recommended for light use.

This product is exactly as it's described. Amazon recommends the Veranda canvas cover and I agree it's MUCH better quality than the one that ships with it. The pit itself is nice and deep & sturdy so there is plenty of room for logs without the worry of it tipping over. The copper is a bit thinner than I expected but I'm not sure YET if that matters. Some other reviews mentioned that the mesh cover melts so I've been too chicken to put it on as the fire is blazing. You can't make a decent s'more with the cover on anyway :)

Honest reviews on CobraCo SH101 Hand Hammered 100% Copper Fire Pit with Screen

We've had this fire basin for a few months now and love it. There appears to be good air circulation, so the fires burn hot (i.e. good brightness and not too much smoke, although still smoke). The copper also turns a pretty color with burning, but that's true of all copper. I also really like the cover, and have put it on several of our larger and more unwieldy fires with no detrimental effect, as far as I can tell.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Here are the circumstances that make this fire pit work perfectly for our home:

Concrete patio; no wood deck that could catch fire.

Plenty of seasoned oak to burn. No junk sparky wood.

Moderate need for real heat (eastern NC).

The feet on the legs are stable on a concrete surface. Our fire pit arrived as intended, with no transit damage. The screen looks like it will hold up long enough. I need the copper to discolor in a hurry, actually, unlike some people who didn't appear to understand that copper doesn't hold its orange color unless you work your polishing tailbone off to keep it that way. In our neighborhood, copper wire and pipe gets stolen. I don't want passers-by to see that we have a big piece of obvious copper in the backyard. Figure a few more fires will do the trick.

The one downside we noticed on set-up that missed my attention when I selected this product: Rain.

The fire pit is shipped with a fitted vinyl cover, not unlike the kind you get for your barbeque grill. However, the fire pit is smaller than a grill, and low to the ground. My partner put the cover over the fire pit. I looked at it and said, "that's not going to work." He said, "why not?" I gestured toward the dogs (5), who have been known to destroy a car cover, blinds, couches, chairs, etc etc and so forth. Industrious little buggers.

He said, "oops."

So, for now, we are thinking about how to keep our pit covered when not being used. We might could move it into the carport, or simply tip it up on its side, or something. If dog chewing is a problem for your backyard, the cover may not work for you either.

But that's not really the fault of the fire pit; simply something we hadn't considered.

This fan pushes a *lot* of air in a very narrow stream, and is fairly quiet about it.

* The yellow part pivots at least 180 degrees, as I have rotated mine back so that the air exit is right above the floor (as I'm using it as a cold air return booster fan for our belabored central AC system, which has far more output vent area than cold air return area).

* The cord is very thick, about 6 feet long, with a grounded 3-prong plug; that's good, especially since the fan has two grounded outlets right on it, which have a circuit breaker; they are labeled max 10 amps each.

* The fan has three speeds, and is truly three speeds: I refuse to buy fans that count "off" as one of the speeds.

* The box says the fan has 100 blades, and it's a squirrel cage fan (sucks air in through the sides, forces it out through the front, just like a blow dryer.

* The case is made of heavy plastic and feels solid.

* The fan sounds like white noise, there is no vibration or phasing.

Well, this makes five of these fans that we have purchased and they are great. My husband and I are very hot natured and could never find a fan that really did the job, until we discovered these. They come in two sizes and this is the small one. We have the large one in the garage with our excercise equipment and the others in the house in various rooms. Instead of blowing around hot air it almost feels like it is blowing cooled air. We think they are great. They also do a great job of drying out damp carpet, towels etc.

This has proven to be quite a versatle fan. I have used it to quickly dry my wet-mopped floors on high humidity days and to dry rugs after pet accident cleanup. It has been really good as a room fan although a bit noisy since that is probably not its main purpose. BUT, short of standing in front of an air conditioner's cool air vent, nothing feels better than to stand in front of this fan!!

The only downside is that it uses somewat more power than my non-squirel cage 15" fan (a trade-off one needs to consider for the extra airflow it provides). On low, medium, and high it uses 76w, 85w, and 103w, respectively. Whereas my 15" fan uses 45w, 53w, and 65w. (Measurements taken using my Kill A Watt EZ.)

Honest reviews on Stanley 655704 Multi Purpose Pivoting Utility Fan

My son has 2 desktop computers in his room and it is also the room farthest from the main AC and so it got much hotter in his room than the rest of the house. I did not need something just to move the air around, I needed to actually cool off the room and the solution..... place this fan on 1 of the 2 lowest settings (highest settings are a bit much for indoors) right over the floor vent and it pulls more air from the AC central unit vents without any noticeable effect on the other rooms. It lowered the temperature in his room by at least 5-8 degrees or more (it was over 10 degrees hotter originally). It is a much cheaper solution than buying a AC window unit for his room. We can always use it to dry carpets when we shampoo our carpets also which it does very well (you can use those higher settings). I can safely say it is the best fan we have ever bought and the most versatile by far. Highly recommended.

I bought this from this vendor in December 2010. The color is a light cream color. It comes with a 3/8" elbow flare fitting. The gas line in the fireplace had a 3/8" flare fitting. The supply line is a 24" from HD, for under $20. Mr Heater recommends not putting the unit in an enclosed space, such as in the fireplace, so I put it on the hearth. The unit has a fan with an on off switch, and the fan comes on when the unit is warmed up. The fan has one speed and is as loud as the microwave. I only used the fan a couple of times, opting instead for the ceiling fan on low in reverse. The unit has a pilot light that is lit with a battery (included) powered igniter. The pilot is easy to light and I turn it off when not using the heater. The thermostat goes from 1 to 5, with 1 being about 55 degrees, and 3 being about 70 degrees. The amount of gas is not adjustable by the heater, but it can be turned down with the gas valve built into the fireplace. I added a photo that shows the heater running with the gas turned down by the fireplace gas valve. This allows the heater to run all day and keep the room at a constant temperature without cycling on and off.

The good: Very low cost for a lot of heat. Fan and floor mounts are included. With ventless, all the heat generated stays in the room. Infra red radiant heat is warm. You might want to search on high intensity gas heaters. The infra red heater allows us to turn the house thermostat way down, and have the same comfort in the family room that we would get by sitting in the sun on a cold day.

The bad: Ventless has a combustion smell. I got a slight head ache for the first two weeks after running the unit at full power. Either I got used to it, or the newness burned off. The unit is not as attractive as a gas log insert.

These heaters are supposed to cause condensation, and we were hoping for an increase in humidity, but the house is still in the dry range at 30%.

I bought this heater as an experiment. I had a $4,000 gas insert installed in my last house with excellent results, and installed the same item in this house, but it was a dud. I wanted to test my expectations whether a 40,000 btu vented gas insert with 75% efficiency generated the same comfort as a 30,000 btu infra red ventless. The big difference is the radiant heat. The infra red ventless generates more comfort. It feels like a roaring fire, but does not look like one. I still wanted the ventless to eliminate the smell, and asked three insert manufacturers to provide any a test results they have for their units for radiant heat, but got no answers. My conclusion is that the inserts look pretty, and they generate the same kind of heat as the house heater, but they don't do radiant. I'll enjoy the warmth, live with the smell, and keep $3,800 in my pocket.

I bought & posted the LP version of this unit after reviewing the comments/opinions of this NG unit as well...figured I would post a copy as they are basically the same unit, only using a different 'flavor' of fuel! ;) ALL info is completely relevant, just keep in mind the 'LP (propane) specific comments are directed @ this units' LP twin-brother!

Recently experienced some winter power outages & realized a dire need for some 'peace-of-mind' during any future episodes! Consequently, this came in handy yesterday 12-19-2011, when the furnace happened to fail out! I am in the White Mountain range, and it was only 9 degrees when this happened; this little guy kept us from freezing to death, literally! BTW, i am in a 2000+ sq. foot home, 2 level, so even though that's much more space than this one is actually capable of heating, the heat naturally moved upstairs & throughout the house & kept it 'livable', regardless! ;) This unit provides more than enough heat to 'camp-out' & survive a no-heat situation comfortably for probably up to 1000sq. feet in a pinch, if it's not too, TOO cold out! ;) The heater does EXTREMELY well, is VERY efficient (around 99.7%!), and a perfect emergency-type or 'supplemental' heating source. It is NOT recommended as a primary heat source as it is NOT vented and even illegal for use in some states (Massachusetts) because of this, so check w/ your state laws 1st before ordering...Note: this unit should NOT be used in a bathroom or bedroom, only a 'primary' (and open!) living space/quarters!...

When you order this heater, be sure to get an appropriate regulator assembly/hose to go with it, as the pressure needs to be 'stepped-down' to 11-13WC, or around 1/2 to 1 PSI in normal human speaking terms! ;) It is NOT meant to be connected directly to the LP gas supply (like you would a natural gas system) without incoming gas pressures first being regulated down; it will blow the valve system & would NOT be covered under any warranties! :P ...

As this unit is VENT-FREE...just for peace of mind for you 'worry-wart' type people (like me!), I would wholeheartedly recommend the use of a reputable carbon monoxide detector in the home this is to be used to protect you & your loved-ones from any dangers...the unit IS equipped w/ an ODS system, that will automatically shut the unit down if there not enough available oxygen (for you!) in the room it is operating, so that helps ease some worries!...Just so you know, my heater is operating in the downstairs 1000 sq. feet living space, in a 10x15 living-room, CO detector @ farthest wall from heater; it's a KIDDE Nighthawk digital CO detector Kidde KN-COPP-3 Nighthawk Plug-In Carbon Monoxide Alarm with Battery Backup and Digital Display (VERY good!) & has registered ZERO '0' ppm since firing up the heater in the same room! not too shabby! ;)...my detector also has the 'explosive gas' detector built in as well, which comes in REAL handy when dealing w/ LP (propane) gas, as it heavier than air, sinks low, & tends to 'pool' up in lower or enclosed spaces, just waiting for a spark! :O Natural gas is a lil' bit 'friendlier', 'cause when it leaks off, it is lighter than air, & tends to float up, intermingling w/ other air & usually finding places to dissipate & escape with other heated air leaving the home! ;)

Just a bit of info regarding a specific feature on this unit (and actually one of the reasons I chose this model over the other brands!) is a unique digital temperature readout display on the top right corner of the housing, where the thermostat control is located; you can see a pic of it in image two @ the top of the page...Well, this particular feature is NOT included with this unit. I have contacted Mr. Heater regarding this feature and why it is missing...they explained that, although it was a really nice feature to have, customers were 'getting confused' as to what it was & how it related to heater operation???...O-kaay?...so that feature has been omitted from ALL 2011 built units as of January, 2011. This includes ALL units, both LP and natural gas, infrared AND blue-flame units included; SO, if you really appreciated (& wanted!) this feature like I did, the only way to obtain it is to find a 2010 (last years model) unit in somebody's 'old-stock' in their warehouse...I have not had any leads...good luck! >:(

I suppose it's not that important, but I thought it was a handy & useful feature to have w/ a heater...I mean, practically ALL those little ceramic heaters now run on digital temp controls & readouts now too, right!?! :O Consequently, all the pics and descriptions for any of the newer 20-30k BTU units of this nature including the digital temps are incorrectly advertised & need to be updated as such to reflect the omission of this nifty lil' feature... :(

PROS:

VERY efficient

Fan unit INCLUDED with this model (costs $30-50 xtra charges w/ similar units!)

'Free-standing' feet INCLUDED w/ this model (also additional costs w/ others)

ELECTRONIC ignition; VERY nice, compared to the click, click, click push-button BBQ igniters (which rarely work half the time!)

very COZY, & nice radiant heat literally POURS from the face of this heater! :) warms the bones! ;)

very easy to hook up & start using, right outta-the-box!

NO electricity needed whatsoever for operation!...of course the blower wont operate, but it's a nice QUIET & COZY heat! :)

CONS:

Fan unit not very powerful, & slightly on the loud side, a little quieter than a hairdryer on 'low' setting; doesn't move much heat, but the radiant heat helps w/ that issue on it's own! ;) ...it CAN however be set to 'ON' or 'AUTO' or OFF! (which is nice when you don't want to hear it!), AND it is automagically turned on by heat & cuts out when the heater cools down, so no 'human-thought' required when using! :)

Has the ability to burn up fuel pretty quick if you leave it up 'high' for a quite awhile...of course it WAS only 10 degrees! bbbrrrr! :O

Unit REALLY stinks when you use it 1st time, burning off paints/oil/new stuff...recommend burning OUTSIDE for awhile HOT to burn off the bad smelling stuff & 'cure' the unit before indoor use (I didn't have a choice!) :(

Kinda misleading pics/description regarding the digital temp display feature, should be updated to reflect this issue

FYI...vent-free units are VERY efficient heaters, HOWEVER, one important snippet of knowledge that most don't know, or are not usually told about, is the fact that these types of heaters have the capacity to release up to a QUART (32oz) of water vapor into your house while in operation (burning); this is due to the fact that there is no venting for the exhaust gases to escape...hence your awesome efficiency is ALSO the culprit of unneeded water vapor...BUT, this is somewhat negated by the fact that a heater is most likely used in the Winter (cold!) months...humidity levels are usually alot lower in the Winter, and as a result, most people usually choose to add water to their homes (humidifiers, steam pots on the wood-stove, etc.)during these times anyway to help reduce chapped hands & lips, dry skin, & lowering the chance of catching a cold, sore throat or getting sick! So the extra moisture could actually be seen as a 'PRO' depending on how you view it!...too much moisture in the home can obviously be a problem as well! :P

...All in all, I find ALOT of positive benefits regarding this heater & it also works really well for what it was designed to do (possibly heating even better than it was rated by sq footage!)...I would totally recommend this heater for anyone needing a back-up emergency or supplemental heat source for not really alot of money @ all! Geez, very economical in fact compared to 'commercially' available installs/solutions! It's 'The Great Lil' Heater that Could!' & does the job very nicely, thank you!

Happy Holidays 2011 & stay WARM!!! ;)

I was a little doubtful about reviews when I bought this heater, but it is great heater! I use it in my garage and I barely have to turn the heat setting above 1. I can walk into my garage in the middle of winter, in which I live in Northeast ohio so it gets cold, and be in shorts and t-shirt and be comfortable! So far I have had it for 2 and 1/2 months and it has not really caused my gas bill to go up at all. I absolutely recommend this product for anyone out there, especially for the men who like to be in thier garage. You cant find a more affordable and efficient way to heat the garage!

Honest reviews on Mr. Heater 30,000 BTU Natural Gas Radiant Vent Free Heater

I was looking for a heater that had a built in thermostat and temperature display. I bought this heater to take the place of an old heater in my 1200 sq ft detached garage. The product description claims it has a 'adjustable thermostat' and also that 'Heater also has built in digital room temperature display'. To my dissatisfaction, this heater does not shut off when it reaches a set temperature. And it does NOT have a digital room temp display. There are 5 settings, lowest to highest.

The product seems to work fine and does a good job heating up the garage. I keep it on low and let it go to work. However, I find myself having to shut it off manually. Even at the low setting, my garage can get warmer than I'd like. And it doesn't stop putting out heat, which is a waste of energy.

I would recommend this product based on its ease of use and overall function. However, if you're looking for a heater that you can adjust and leave alone then this isn't the product for you.

The short of it is this heater works flawlessly and I can depend on it.

More details: The parts don't seem to be formed to fit well and the assembly was not the best so I was worried at first but it works flawlessly. Great design! I had another one that looked like it was made better but the pilot light kept going out if the fan came on and sometimes even if the fan was turned off so I could never depend on it from the day it was new. Very happy with this product and now I don't come home to a freezing house or worry about the pipes freezing and bursting if I travel. I'm not talking about parts hanging or falling off, just the details of the fit if you notice those things. Even the thermostat is more accurate and responds quicker than the other heaters I've had.

PS. I hope the time I spent doing this review has helped you the same way your reviews have helped me make better decisions. Thanks!

Great price just what I was looking for It's nice and compacted doesn't take up a lot of room, you have to supply the bottle does not come with one, but no big deal, the cold water is nice and chilled, hot water is hot. So far I'm happy with it. I have had for about two weeks. I like that it's slim since i do not have much room in my kitchen my son had an old metal one that took up a bit more space and was kind of ugly to look at, this is attractive, light weight, but holds a 5 gal. bottle just fine, so it was just perfect. the storage underneath is nice to, I put extra cans of soda in there but it isn't refrigerated , I guess it would be a nice place to put disposable cups in for use. It does tell you to plug into an outlet that is all by it's self or could cause some issues with performance otherwise, but I did not have that choice but seems to be working just fine and have not blown any breakers so.... :)

This is a suitable water cooler at a very affordable price. Very light, takes up little space, suits my needs perfectly well.

This is much smaller then I expected. The volume of cooled/heated water is very small. It has great hot water (Very hot), but the cold water is not cold. It is cool. There is no controls to adjust the temperature for either hot nor cold. It feels cheaply made.

Honest reviews on Ragalta RWC-195 Purelife Series High Efficiency Thermo Electric Hot

I am very happy with this product. the cold water is chilled and the hot water is very hot. very quiet and I was surprised about the efficiency. It only kicks on about 1-2 times a day but keeps the water very cold and hot. water also tastes very pure. does not use so much electricity. lots of stuff plugged in but does not trip the breaker. you should buy it! PS. make sure you follow the instructions book and clean it out with water & baking soda for extra pure taste. T.D.

UPDATE: 8/26/2013

I don"t really know how to update amazon reviews, so I just edited with the word update.

To test the reliability of this item we left it plugged in and moved to a motel for approximately 4 days. (there was a lady around feeding our cats while we were gone) I relied on her incase something went wrong. she said nothing wrong. we came in the bedroom ( where the cooler is ) to find the cooler just fine, holding up, and not one drop of water on the floor! it still works fine,

hot and cold, but there is

plastic taste, but that should probably go away the more we use it. thank you,

Newmom

Update#2 9/17/13 the nasty taste went away instantly. I don't really use the cold water these days so some times I leave it off and get room temperature water

and hot water. overall, this little water cooler is awesome, I keep it next to my bed to get water when I'm thirsty at night. I love this one so much I might purchase another!

Newmom.

I purchased the Aquios unit from Amazon right before Christmas and had it professionally installed a little over a week ago. For anyone concerned about the installation costs, I hired a local plumber and he was able to install the unit for $150 including parts, and it took him less than an hour. I'm sure someone with good plumbing skills and basic tools could easily install the softener themselves; I simply know my limitations and elected to have it installed properly.

I couldn't be happier with the results. My wife and I started noticing a difference in our water quality immediately, and it keeps getting better every day. True, this unit may not match the classic definition of a water softener since it does not use salt, but if crystal-clear water, no chemical taste, elimination of scale buildup and essentially maintenance-free operation is what you are looking for in a whole-house conditioning system, then the heck with "classic" definitions.

We've both noticed a better "feel" from our water in the shower, and the amount of soap and shampoo we use in order to feel clean has been drastically reduced. The first time I used my espresso machine with our "new" water, it was like night and day. The coffee carafe did not show any signs of lime or scale buildup, whereas previously I would have to wash the container out with soap and hot water after each use. Our water was so hard, we had to scrub the toilet bowls daily to keep them clean, and now all of those water stains and "gunk" have simply disappeared. The shower mirror stays crystal clear with no signs of haze, and our water tastes great right from the tap.

It puzzles me how someone could write a review for a product they've never used. So, even though this unit does not use salt, who cares??? If its results you're looking for, I would recommend you take a close look at the Aquios system as a viable alternative to salt-based conditioners.

We've had this installed for $140 by our plumber.Someone else gave us a price of $395 for the same installation,so be careful and call around for prices. We feel it works great. We can now drink water from the faucet with no after taste and you can install it just about anywhere. We had ours installed in the garage where our pipes run thru. We've been using it since September 2012,and still working fine.Filters with (EOC),which is what we got and are only $10 more, are suppose to last a family of four for six months,So,I expect to get 8 to 10 months use for just my wife and myself. Our plumber said,he doesn't know why more people don't use this type of softener/filter instead of spending thousand's for something that'll do the same thing this will.It DOES NOT affect our water pressure at all. There was absolutely no difference, and the filter's are easy to replace.Just unsrew the top, pull the old filter out and slide the new one in,but, don't forget to soak the filter for 15 minute's before putting the filter in.We live in Tucson,AZ,and our water is very hard. This system did the trick. It's also saving our appliance's,water heater, faucet's,dish washer, toilet's,etc from the calcium build-up we got before. We actually had to take our water heater out and flush all the calcium chunks out in the yard.We don't hear those chunks banging against the side of the water heater anymore from the pressure inside.I recommend this water softener. If it works in Arizona, where the water is very hard,it should work most anywhere, and the cost of it is very reasonable for what it does, plus the extra life it is giving our appliance's and our skin and hair and having water you drink.I'm pretty picky guy,so,you can trust this review and I DO NOT work for Aqious.

Also,it arrived ahead of the actual delivery date stated.

I had this installed last week in a home we just bought. We didn't notice a change right away in the water quality. We have horrible water where we live (an ag city).

I had it tested when we first moved in and and it was over 185 ppm. It was like soap when washing the car. It literally came out like soap and left bubbles and film on the car. We wouldn't touch the stuff for drinking. Anyways, the stainless steel sink in the kitchen was covered in hard water film along with the fixtures in the bathrooms. We are on a full galvanized pipe install under the house along with the guest house / garage. There was some copper pipes but they were toast and I removed them, went full steel and grounded the pipes (house been around since the 50's and the steel was still goodkind of makes me wonder why people recommend copper over steel when the copper was destroyed.. I'm not sure about plastic but the pipes under the house look like new, and came apart like new (60+ years old)just were it was joined with copper is where I found issues. I think it's just plumbers would rather save money on installing plastic. (Just my opinion after seeing these galvanized pipes myself)

Installed this on the main and replaced the old shutoff with a lever. A week later the sinks are clean and the water is much better (not perfectI wouldn't drink it but much better). It has a bypass that's easy to use for the nights when the sprinklers come on. Bypass every other night until I can fix the sprinklers that keep getting kicked. We are happy with the purchase.

I put a reverse osmosis system on the kitchen sink for drinking water. We should have a real water softener but I just wanted to try this first. Think we saved ourselves $500. You don't really need the softener. This thing is good enough to keep the film and soapy water that comes from the city from sticking to everything. The replace filter costs $60 but I talked with someone who said he goes 2 years without replacing his whole house filter. Guess we'll have to see.

Honest reviews on Aquios Full House Water Softener and Filter System

I researched long and hard for a water softener as I have recently bought a new home, with new washer dryer and tankless water heater. In my area it is known for some hard water and with that being said we all know what hard water does to your appliances let alone fixtures. Wanted to start with the mindset of living here for the rest of my life.

This unit has improved the taste of the water and has stopped hard water significantly in my home. It has been 2 months and we have not had to wiped down our showers for build up, only for regular cleaning. Sinks are clean and the tank less water heater keeps up with high demand on a lower temperature setting. All in all I believe this was a great investment for my needs.

For reference 3600 sqft home with 3 adults and 2 children.

Below are my findings after doing a lot of initial research before buying the Aquios system and hope to help out others.

There are 3 systems that are widely implemented:

1) Most used is salt based water softners

2) Water Filtrations systems that as a byproduct soften the water

3) Newest technology is the Magnetic

So far after reading it all, salt based are best used when there is serious, serious hardwater. Basically if you see rings in your toilet, and you feel so dry after a shower. Cons of salt based systems are that your water feels a little soapy and if you use your tap water to cook and make coffee. This of course is because there is added salt in your diet due to the softener. Not recommended for those with sodium health problems. Costs for the salt based softeners start as low as $80 up to $500. Usually has to be maintained every 1 to 2 months. Costing $10-$20 ea time.

Water Filtration systems are mid level to mid-high cases of hard water. They are a filtration system that will also help with softening up the water. With this product you get a two in one system and if you think about it will also prolong your appliances a bit longer as it will also take out further contaminates. Initial costs for a whole home water filtration & softener system starts from $300-$1000. Filter lasts from 3-6months. Filters can be $30 to $70 ea.

Magnetic wiring around your copper fittings is one of the newer technologies to be implemented for home use. From reviews and what I have read, these do work but not for cases where hard water is not an big problem and usually installed when it was not needed in the first place. How they work is to electrifying wires to create magnetic fields so the chemical reaction how hard water is formed is deactivated. These systems are usually maintenance free. Systems start at $150 to $800.

This does work, although it doesn't actually remove the hardness. This causes a bit of residue to be left over time in hot water applications, like the dish washer or boiling water.

I was also surprised to see that the stock filter, while stating it removes particles larger than 5microns, does not actually reduce the parts per million (PPM) particles in my well water.

All in all though, I do like it better than the electric salt water softener, and it freed up a lot of space in the utility closet.

UPDATE: I have noticed that the residue left from heating or boiling water is much easier to remove than without a softener. I replaced the electric + salt softener because it had failed; when it was not operating, lime and calcium build-up required CLR or Lime-a-way to remove it, whereas now it comes off with a washcloth or scrub brush.

Frankly, because it cost half the price of the second choice GE model, I placed my order with reservations that it may not be an effective appliance, and was prepared to return it if the trial didn't work out. Instead, I feel fantastic about choosing the economical Sonya over better-known brands. After researching many brands of apartment-sized dryers at all price points, the higher-capacity Sonya portable became my first choice. It was highly reviewed on several other websites, including those that specialize in small-space living.

My husband and I completed a traditional outdoor vented installation yesterday. This dryer, plus a vintage Lady Kenmore portable replaced the landlord's Whirlpool Duet high-capacity stacking system. Although the stackers were very nice, their bulk made our tiny laundry area ineffective. The Sonya dryer is at least 8 inches smaller in all dimensions than the previous dryer, yet it holds an impressive load of laundry. In arid, high-altitude Montana, it completely dried each load 6 so far, including one with 4 pairs of 40"x36" cargo pants and several T-shirts in about 90 minutes. Another plus is the included hardware for a hanging installation; this feature saved $100 over other models that require separate purchase of a stacking rack. The Sonya far exceeded our expectations. I would recommend it highly to anyone needing to squeeze every inch of performance from a closet-sized laundry area.

July 9, 2013 Following up on my original review after a month of use: My husband and I are both impressed with the Sonya high-capacity dryer. Other reviewers commented that this machine doesn't seem to get hot, or that it takes a long time to dry. My experience has been quite different. As long it is not overloaded with heavy wet clothing, a load of mixed garments will be completely dry in 90 minutes or less and be toasty warm when removed from the dryer!

Tips on effective use:

The installation directions for hanging the dryer do not mention installing two (included) 4" metal and rubber feet to the back-bottom of the dryer. There are pre-drilled holes in the chassis. YOU MUST INSTALL THESE TO KEEP THE DRYER FROM FALLING OFF THE HOOKS!

Install with flexible aluminum vent pipe, not the cheaper accordion plastic type. Connect the 3" vent into a 4" dryer vent in the floor or wall; a 4" to 3" adaptor, available at most hardware stores, makes the transition smoothly.

Keep the dryer lint traps clean. If the exit air vent is blocked with a blanket of lint, the steamy air remains in the dryer.

RUN THE SPIN CYCLE TWICE for loads of extra heavy clothing to extract as much water as possible before drying.

Process larger (Queen or King) bedding in 2 loads: one for the bottom sheet, a pillow case and a few T-shirts, and another similarly loaded for the top sheet.

Enjoy!

I ordered this product for our two bedroom apartment. We do laundry for two adults a 6 year old and an infant. This product is amazing! The dryer shipped quickly and got here fast. I did have to call in and figure out how to put the rotating band back on. It was a quick call an email later and a few basic tools to undo the back and just two hands to put the band back on. (They say during shipping it can come dislodged but it's a quick fix) after that I did a quick wash. (I handwashed our first load of laundry bc we had not ordered the sonya washer yet. It took a little longer to dry since I was unable to get all the water rang out of the clothes properly.

Either way this dryer is amazing. It handles big loads wonderfully.

This is the first time I have ever left a review. This is worth the money!!!! So worth it. Our electric bill has been level for the amount of clothes we wash and dry I thought it was going to higher but it has been pretty much the same.

I more then please with product!!!

Hope it does just as good for you when you purchase it. \(^_^)/

Best Deals for Sonya Portable Compact Laundry Dryer Apartment Size 110V 13lbs/3.75

I'm rating this dryer as 5 stars keeping in mind that it is a smaller dryer better for apartment sizes and for use with the smaller size portable washers. I'm using this with a HLP23E by Haier which is a 1.5 cu.ft. washer. I purchased this vs. one of the other even smaller dryers because as I understand the rule of thumb is to choose a dryer that's at least twice as many cu.ft. as your washer in order to dry clothes more quickly and more efficiently.

Now keep in mind that this does only use only a standard plug. Although you really do almost need a plug with it's own circuit. It's rated at 1400W/800W which W/V=A so it's 11.6/6.6Amps respectively. If you're using this on a 15A circuit with a bunch of other things you're going to be making a lot of trips to your panel and wearing out your breakers especially if you press the "high" button in on the dryer.

How I have it set up is next to a window in my kitchen. Unfortunately my whole apartment is run off two 15A fuses so I can't run this at the same time as anything else on the same circuit and it's best if I can set it up to run right before I go to bed. More on that to follow. I don't like venting it into my kitchen and throwing up dust everywhere especially since both my wife and I have allergies. Those little indoor dryer vents are about as code as my apartments wiring. I advise if you absolutely must vent inside (again, not code) that you vent into a HEPA vacuum bag. You may need some serious dehumidifying too.

In order to vent the dryer I took a piece of cedar board I had left over from another project and cut it so it would just fit into the upper stile of the window. I then cut a hole in it and screwed a standard dryer vent in. I carefully used insulation foam tape all the way around the board to seal any gaps. Standard dryer vent line is 4" but the exhaust on this dryer is not so I used some spring steel wire cutters to clip out a few of the vent tube reinforcement rings so I could zip tie one end of the standard exhaust tube over the smaller exhaust coming from the dryer. I removed the felt screen on the dryer vent since you wont need that venting to the outside, it seems just like a futile attempt to catch more dust from this thing. I also put up an 18" valence and with the dryer next to the window it hides the exhaust tube and the cedar board. I'm going to put some of the vinyl stained glass peel and stick(sort of) covers over the remaining exposed glass to further disguise my transgressions to this window which just looks out on a neighboring house anyway.

So about the power draw on this thing. I suppose if you were to leave it on low power by not pressing in the white button to the left of the time selector you probably could let it run through the whole cycle and it would get your clothes dry without wasting a ton of electricity. If you set it to high though it will get a load dry in a little under an hour and a half. I think you need to turn the knob to the max setting for it to get to max hotness which also gives you max time. So do you wanna sit around and wait while your clothes dry and not run anything else on that circuit in order to stop the cycle an hour and some odd minutes later? Neither do I. I know there are hourly countdown timers but am hour doesn't seem to be enough and the clothes are still damp. Luckily I picked up a mechanical countdown timer on E-bay that I won in auction for like $5 with shipping. http://www.ebay.com/itm/121126923369?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649 It's sold by weiproducts-us. They have a two and three prong version. They also have a two prong version of a digital timer with countdown function and say there is a 3 prong version but they don't have it yet. You need a three prong timer. I just plugged the dryer into the timer and set the dryer to max heat/time then set the timer for an hour and a half before I go to bed or leave, works every time.

A little more on the lint filter. I'm not sure how traditional dryers work but this thing has a belt driven drum and on the back of the drum is an in line turbine to push air out and is sealed around the sides by brush bristles. I don't think this thing will ever get hot enough to start a lint fire but after years of use those bristles are bound to rub down and fill the inside of the dryer with lint and moisture and eventually ruin it. I'll probably pull the back off this thing to check on the state of the bristles every few years and hopefully the company will provide a replacement kit should it be worn out. Although who knows, it may be durable enough that the bristles will last 20 years I'm not sure. Some humidity must still be escaping into the inside though so if it suddenly stops working after warranty it might be worthwhile to check the connections for corrosion inside. It is a pretty simple design though and although it's in line with the costs of comparable style dryers I think all these things should probably cost about half of current prices for what they really are.

Honest reviews on Sonya Portable Compact Laundry Dryer Apartment Size 110V 13lbs/3.75

This dryer works perfectly with the sonya apartment washer. My little apartment is able to house both of these in a small bathroom without sacrificing space. The dryer works very well, is quite quiet, and fits on a shelf to be out of the way. The fact it plugs into your standard outlet really helps since my little apartment doesn't have a 240v outlet. I'm saving time and money by being able to do my laundry at home. The lint trap is the only slightly inconvenient part of this dryer with it being all the way in the back. But it more than makes up for that with how quickly it drys clothes for its small size and it's ability to fit far more clothes than I expected. I also received this item two days after ordering it, very fast shipping. I highly recommend this product and the sonya apartment washer. Very satisfied customer.

When looking for small wien coolers, I was scared of getting a so bad one because while looking for cheap and small wine cooler I've seen that there are many reviews saying that the one they bought makes a lot of noise, broke down or something else... After making some research I decided to get this wine cooler, and I ought to say that I'm happy to have chosen this one. It doesn't makes noise at all. It keeps the wine at the temperature I chose as it is supposed to do. It's got a light inside so you can see the wine if you like to. You may like also to leave the light turned on because it looks cool at night. Also, I've got the Prime Membership, so I got the two days shipping for free. If you don't have the Membership, don't worry Amazon always send the product on time.

Since I've seen so many people saying that the Wine Cooler they got broke down, I will update the review if it happens to me. It's been a week since I bought it, and the cooler works perfectly.

The wine cooler stopped working on March 26, 2013. I send the wine cooler to the manufacturer, and they fixed it.

You read a lot of reviews of wine coolers being too loud or do not cool properly. This may be a direct result of people not reading directions. When you move a refrigerator of any kind the unit is supposed to be kept upright. The reason for this is because there is very thick lubricant (oil) in the compressor unit. If the refrigerator has been moved, stored, or delivered sideways the oil must be given time to drain back into the compressor properly. If your unit was just delivered to you and the box is upright then you have to assume that it could have been on the truck for several days. This means the oil is not in the correct position in the compressor to be turned on as soon as you bring it home. The box this unit was shipped in is large and will more than likely have to be put on its side to fit in your vehicle. The instructions with this unit clearly state not to turn the unit on for a few hours to allow the lubricant to settle properly. I allowed for three hours to pass before plugging the unit in. Additionally, my wine was in my regular refrigerator and already cold when I put them in this cooler. This takes the unit less work to get the temperature down. This unit is very quiet and is keeping the temperature steady. You can hear the fan but during a normal conversation or with the tv on you have to really listen for it. For the money, this is a very nice and attractive unit.

I just got this yesterday and set it to 57 and it works perfectly. I just purchased some reds and opened door stacked them in there, fit perfectly and the temp didn't budge. I had a cheap (1/2 priced) 6 bottle Emerson that worked well for 4 years, now it won't cool down, it is being affected my our Indian Summer heat, which it never mattered before how hot my place got. This new one looks soooo much better, very quiet, no complaints at all, so far. I will do another post if anything changes, but so far I love it. Btw, it is positioned exactly next to my old one. So the placment is the same, and staying at a cool 57! Exactly where I want it. It is about 68 in my condo right now.

Honest reviews on Spt Thermo-Electric Wine Cooler with Heating, 12-Bottles

Have had it for a month or so with no issues. The light is a nice touch at night looking for a bottle.

Runs quietly and with 12 bottles in it keeps wine at 51 degrees (lowest setting) which is a great "chilled" temp.

I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised at this model when it arrived over a year ago. I had room for bottles with the corks placed back in, in addition to having room for wine stoppers as well. It also remembered where the thermostat was set to in the event of a power outage. It would go back to the setting once power was restored.

HOWEVER...Unit died right after the 1 year mark. Doesn't it always happen that way?

Take it for what its worth.
