This fan is great! I bought 2 more of these after I got the first one! It moves LOTS OF AIR and it's QUIET! I have owned many fans in my life. Floor fans blow air up at you, ceiling fans blow air down on you and I don't like either. I just returned an 18 inch fan because it was TOO LOUD. Don't listen to other reviews that say this fan is weak. It's not. It BLOWS LIKE THE WIND and its VERY QUIET ! Here's a trick I use > Place the fan near the air conditioner vent and aim it at you. It keeps me much cooler without having the AC up on high and wasting electric and money. Afterall, as long as I'm cool, that's cool man!

the top section is not secure so unless you will disassemble it to put it away each season like I do, you need to super glue the top portion to the stand. Our place has no air conditioning and although we live in the pacific NW, it can still get really hot/humid for 3-6 weeks of the summer. After going to Home Depot, Lowes and other places I found their fans to be too expensive, especially since I needed to buy FOUR of them. I read reviews of this fan as well as other more pricier name-brand fans and I decided to take a gamble with these. Well, I am sure glad I did because I got FOUR fans for under $100 and they all work fantasticly. Yes, they are lightweight and maybe not as aesthetically pleasing as other fans out there, but it does the job. They have 3 different levels and the air output is definitely significant. Not the sturdiest fan. Comes apart easily whether you want it to or not. Not a lot of air flow. You get what you pay for. I suggest paying more.
