The only good thing is that the motor works. Does not fit well to the existing housing. Poor design on the screw holes, ie, can't screw it in because holes are too small. Could not line the scroll band and motor together. Spent a lot of time of trouble shooting. Finally used the string to tie them together so the motor frame can hang with the scroll band, not tight though. At least, I can use the working motor to vent for the bath now because I don't know where I can find a replacement parts for my old fan. :(

This is a universal piece and if your fan was like the Nu tone I had. The screw holes will be different and the shape of the motor will be also but the motor fits and works.

Avoid this low quality product. It is difficult to install with parts that BARELY fit and "pop" out of place. This all before you turn on the fan. Once you do and the motor does run so it earns one star prepare for a fan no more quiet than a 57 Chevy or a jet engine on take off. Every loose fitting part rattles and the whole assembly seems to rely on the decorative grille to hold it in place. Cant begin to say how disappointed.

A bit louder than the original motor, when it was working properly.

I don't know if a different motor would have been more quiet or not???

The one that came with my fan originally was plastic and melted, I replaced it with this which is metal and a lot better quality I was impressed.

We bought one of these 2 years ago for our daughers room. It did amazingly well in her 10x10 room. My husband just broke our small ceramic heater which tbh, was a huge energy hog and never shut off. We turned our daughters on and put it between both rooms, and it got to temp for her room, plus our 14x15 room and shut off! I went out tonight and purchased a 2nd from walmart, which was much cheaper than amazon. This one, unlike the last version, has a optional wall mount. We will probably actually skip wall mounting it because of airflow.

They seem to work much better than the small picture on the box saying "small room" would lead you to believe. Fantastic little heaters. Pretty quiet too.

We have some older wiring in our house that just recently got upgraded to 3 prong outlets. We keep the heaters on the low setting to make sure we dont trip a breaker. But on a really cold night, if we turn it to high, we let it run and it seems to not mess with the breaker. So long as i don't try to vacuum too :-)

I've had mine for 3 years and love it! In that time, my husband has had 3 in his bathroom... the last one just stopped working (a Holmes Bathroom Heater). I told him NOT to go out & buy another & I'd try to order him my Sunbeam 1 Touch. So happy that Amazon carries it!!! I recommend that you buy the Sunbeam 1 Touch Heater if you want a great performing heater that will last and last! But I don't understand WHY it's over $50 at Amazon and Under $30 at Walmart. Went to Walmart's website & got it there instead.

I purchased this little guy from a store a year ago. I loved it then, and it's still going strong now! The thermostat feature is perfect, because I change my mind on the settings constantly, and would otherwise melt/freeze before snapping out of my work to turn it on/off. Especially at night when I'm sleeping.

My two cats love it, too! It's been safe and fairly quiet, while providing a wonderful amount of heat for my living and bed rooms. I am now shopping for a second one to heat up more spaces more quickly.

Great heater for large spaces. We love it. You can leave it on Low all the time and the rooms stay nice and toasty. The purchase price is amazing compared to other makers that cost more and do nothing

First of all, this is the ONLY pouring kettle I could find that is also an electric kettle, which is a great combination if you are in the market for both. The price ($50) seems fair as the competing pouring kettles cost about the same or more, all of which are non-electric.

The kettle seems to be well built and looks nice. I got this kettle for making coffee in a Hario v60 manual pour-over brewer, and it does the job well: the thin gooseneck spout lets you do a steady controlled pour. It's not as big as the picture makes it look, I think it's just the right size.

So at this point I can recommend this kettle. It remains to be seen how durable it is, I am going to update my review in a couple of months to reflect that aspect.

Update 01/12/12

So, another point I would like to mention is that the bottom of the kettle is flat, the heating element is hidden, so it is quite easy to clean. Also, I have found that it is very convenient to use this kettle with a needle-type thermometer to control the temperature. This can be done by inserting the thermometer into one of the three vents at the top (the manual does not recommend that, but it works great for me).

Update 03/27/12

...3 months later, this kettle works just fine. No issues at all.

Update 03/20/13

So I've had it for more than a year now and continue to use daily as my do-it-all kettle, not just for coffee. It's still going strong, haven't had a single problem with it, it's just great.

I really didn't think that how you pour water into a coffee maker such as a Chemex, or other manual funnel method, would make a difference. Well, I was wrong. I had been using a tea kettle to both heat and pour water, but the pour-rate was hard to control. With the Bonavita, that is no longer the case.

Just this morning, I made a Chemex pot of some freshly roasted Guatemalan Finca la Providencia (Taraccino Coffee in Minneapolis... cool place to get some great coffee), and with the Bonavita, a steady stream of water was EASY to do. And the result was an incredible brewed coffee. Though the flavor profile has much to do with the brewing method, that brewing method is greatly affected by the pour. The Guat has never had the depth it did this morning. Amazing cup that really did surprise me. The body rivaled that of my vac-pot brewer. I'm a convert to this style of pouring spout. Really makes the slow-pour that much easier to do, and control.

Now for another important aspect of this kettle the actual heating of the water. Quick! 30 ounces of water took maybe four minutes. While there isn't a whistle like on the tea kettle, boiling water makes a very recognizable sound. First it gets louder and louder, then quieter as it goes to a true boil. Then, the kettle's heater automatically turns off. I listen, and have gotten quite good at knowing when to start my grinder so that it finishes right before the water is ready to pour.

Finally, the quality of the kettle is quite satisfactory. Nice materials and good build-quality. My guess is that I will be using this kettle for years to come.

UPDATE: 10/18/2013

After almost two years of use, I'm still quite happy with this kettle. I use it 5-7 days per week (weekends quite often mean more time in the morning, so I fire up the lever-espresso machine for cappuccinos, etc.), and it's still going as it did on day one. Not the speediest to heat water, but while it's heating, I do other things, and just stay within earshot (water gives off a good amount of sound as it's coming to a boil, then gets quiet right as it's reaching a boil).

My only addition to my review would be that I wish the flow of water were a bit more restricted (slower). I can slowly pour, but the opening size is just a bit larger than I'd prefer. No big deal though... I've gotten to be a proficient pourer, and have adopted a pulsing-pour style (pour a bit, stop, pour a bit more, and so on). Also, the hard-water we have here in Southern California has left some very-slight hard-water film on the inside of the kettle. I've been meaning to boil up some water then dump some Cafiza in to the water (post boil). With that sitting in there for 10 minutes or so, the deposits will all be gone.

So the bottom line question is if I'd buy this kettle again. Yup. In fact, I did. I bought a spare early on just in case mine ever died. Nothing lasts forever, and I'm glad I've got a back-up for when I need it though I don't anticipate needing it for a LONG time.

Best Deals for Bonavita 1.0L Electric Kettle BV3825B

The thing that sets this kettle apart from most electric kettles is the spout. The slim spout allows for accurate, steady pouring for tea, coffee, etc.

I wasn't sure I'd like the handle, but it is actually designed really well for ergonomics. The weight of the water is balanced properly when holding the handle, so it's functionally great. I still don't like the look of the handle, and it is plastic as opposed to stainless steel. But they're putting the money where it needs to go, so at the price, this kettle is great!

The kettle does heat up quickly (3-4 minutes) which compares well to other kettles. For manually brewing pourover coffee, this kettle is fantastic. If you're a coffee shop doing manual pourovers, the size will be a limiting factor.

The lid fits securely (unlike its Hario competitor).

The base is simple with a cord wrap and about a 3 foot cord.

The metal is appropriately thick (it's not heavy duty, but it is sturdy and solid).

The on/off switch has been accurately shutting off at the right temperature so far even at different water levels.

It has cleaned up nicely and has felt very safe to use. Has held up to regular use for a few months so far with no damage. Between the electric Hario (which is very nice) and this model, I'd take the Bonavita every day (except on the day when aesthetics means more than functionality) .

Honest reviews on Bonavita 1.0L Electric Kettle BV3825B

1) The bottom developed numerous small rusty spots (brownish color) inside after three days of use;

2) The kettle leaves a small puddle under the handle every time I boiled the water. The more water I boil the bigger the puddle is.

RESUME:

This is the only kettle without plastic parts, contacting with the boiling water, and it is very small, so it would be an ideal tea kettle for my office, but the 1) and the 2) above forced me to return it

I bought this kettle for the spout! My vintage glass teapot is great for boiling water, but I was having trouble slowing down the pour using it with my Chemex. After doing some research I bought this, and so far I love it. You can pour at at trickle or faster if you want; this greatly improves the pour over brewing process.

This is my first electric kettle and it is very simple to use. It takes around 6 minutes to boil a full pot (1 liter) of cold filtered water. Some reviewers have said this is slow but it doesn't bother me. It has a 1000W heater, while other electric kettles are 1500W, so the slower boil makes sense.

The workmanship seems solid; the brushed stainless steel is attractive and feels heavy enough to last. The plastic handle is easy to grip and stays cool to touch. There is no plastic inside the kettle except at the very top so your boiling water will not come in contact with plastic if that concerns you. Also, this product boasts a 2 year warranty which is longer than most small appliances these days.

This is the only electric kettle available (that I have found) with a gooseneck spout, so if you prefer manual brewing get this kettle. It really makes a difference!

Dimplex CFP3652C 20"Cherry Electric Fireplace looks awesome. The flame is way to dark and there is no controls to make it brighter. The heat it puts out is ok for a small space. Thats all it really is, is a space heater in a fireplace cabinet. The other problem with the Fireplace is it is noisy and can get on ones nerves. The motor in the back makes all kinds of noise after about the 2nd week of use. For the price i paid for this i could have gotten a pellet stove and been much happier. It cost about $40 a mouth to run and that is not savings when you can get a pellet stove for around the same price and save a ton of money and have a real fire place at the same time. Again its nice just priced way to high.

I have had the 45,ooo btu Big Maxx heater now for about 4 years. Every winter is a new set of repairs and continued repairs to keep it working. I leave my step ladder set up next to it because I am constantly working on it to keep it heating. I have ordered my 4th circut board to be put in this time. There is a bad connection in it now so I have touch the circut board everytime I want it to start heating. The others were shorted out because there is no fuse on the circut board. I would recommend spending a little more money and getting a better, lower maintenance heater.

I bought this unit in Nov 2007. I have had trouble with it from day one. The company has been good to work with ( they sent replacement parts) but it just stopped working again. Parts come but takes 2 weeks or so. They don't rush it. 3 times now in 4 months. It is garbage and should be recalled and taken off the market. Spend more or get a different brand but stay away from this. I put one star only because that was as low as it would go.

We used an unvented natural gas heater in our garage for several years. With many more cold days this past winter, we began having concerns with the excess amount of moisture and condensation produced by non-venting. Having already roughed-in the electrical and thermostat wiring for a unit heater when the garage was built, we decided it was time to switch to a vented heater.

We looked at the Modine and Big Maxx heaters and selected the Big Maxx 45 when it went on sale for $399 at Northern Tool. We ordered the heater and had it shipped to a store in our area to avoid shipping charges. The heater arrived much quicker that we anticipated. Our original plan was to install the heater sometime during the summer and be ready for next winter. The next weekend was nice weather so we decided to go ahead and install the Big Maxx.

Since the heater needed to mount at a 45 degree angle to the room, we mounted unistrut channel to the ceiling joists and mounted the heater thereto. We used category I gas vent from Lowe's. Installation was simple and straight forward. Then we turned the heater on.

The induced draft motor made a LOT of noise and vibration. Then the blower fan came on and you needed hearing protection to stay in the room. In the bedroom above the garage, it actually sounded like someone was running a couple of hammer drills. Being an engineer, I inspected both blowers to see why they vibrated so badly. The induced draft blower had a nice looking squirrel cage blower but the shaft hole was drilled off center. The next day we took the heater down, boxed it up and returned it to Northern as defective.

Next we ordered a Modine heater. Installation was a little more complicated because we already had the hole in the wall for the vent. We mounted this heater slightly differently to take advantage of the existing hole. This heater required Category III venting for our installation so we ordered Z-Vent online. The Modine heater is quiet as a mouse. As they say, "you get what you pay for".

Honest reviews on Mr. Heater Big Maxx 45,000 BTU Natural Gas Garage Unit Heater

I'm writing this review because I was pricing one of these out for my buddy with a smaller garage and came across some negative reviews. Yes, the device does not come with a $10.00 thermostat you can buy either here or @ the HD. It also requires you to buy a venting kit which you can either buy here, at the HD, or custom make one ensuring you are using the correct schedule piping for your region.

I'm not sure why people are having such issues with the electronics on these heaters. I live in the depths of cold hell of Central Minnesota. I've been fortunate to have great success with my Hamilton. I've had it installed for 6 years now with no issues. Just do your homework before you slap this thing up thinking it's just a replacement dryer or stove. There are electrical, venting, and gas considerations you must make prior to plumbing and wiring this thing to your homes gas and electrical services. You're most likely adding something to your home that wasn't "stock", therefore, you have to take into consideration the below:

If you wire the appliance correctly, you probably wouldn't have boards frying on you. You need to ensure you have a direct home run right from the electrical panel to the furnace via a 14/2 AWG wire and a dedicated 15 A circuit then a GFCI to prevent surges in the electrical and basic light switch in front of the electrical circuit to the heater to turn the device off in the summer. It may sound like overkill, but all of about $25.00 in electrical protection is a heck of a lot cheaper than fried electronics. It also wouldn't hurt to turn that breaker off in the summer months to prevent surges and lightning strikes. Follow the instructions on the side panel for "summerizing" the heater prior to turning it off for the season and you're good.

I chose to install mine via 12/2 AWG wire, a 20 A circuit breaker, a GFCI and a basic light in front of the electrical circuit to the heater switch to prevent surges in the electrical and to turn it off in in the summer months. It may sound like overkill, but all of about $25.00 in electrical protection is a heck of a lot cheaper than fried electronics. I did it this way because I branched the 20 A circuit to add an outlet for my LCD TV, Stereo, shop lights, chest freezer, and an occasional box fan. Those combined don't draw more than 10 A for the combined extras, leaving me 10 A just for a heater that only draws 3 A nominal, so I figured I was safe. Again, follow the instructions on the side panel for "summerizing" the heater prior to turning it off for the season and you're good.

The second piece is to ensure you are not over-delivering Gas pressure to the unit's Smart valve. If you have too much gas from the high side of your home's gas feed without a pressure regulator @ the heater you will fry the regulator on the furnace because it's working too hard to restrict the gas and can be very dangerous to your well being. If you're running on the low side of your gas feed which is already regulated, but not enough gas, the regulator on the furnace will run low and run ineffectively. That means you have too many appliances connected to that already regulated gas branch and need to have a professional install a gas regulator dedicated just for the heater on the high side of your home's gas feed.

Your best bet for the gas is to have a professional install the gas line for you to ensure you are receiving the proper gas inlet pressure @ the heater to avoid burning out your Smart Valve. Any licensed fireplace installer would be more than willing to help you do this for a fair price. The total job will cost you around $600-$750 dollars and it'll be code and work for years to come.

Hope this review helps!!

After the date had expired for the Dimplex stove to be delivered, (remember, I didn't set the delivery deadline!)I contacted the seller who gave the excuse that all the Dimplex stoves were delayed in being shipped. However, once the problem had been addressed, I was offered a 10% discount which was to be credited to my card (it was not explained initially that it would be either a discount on the price of the unit itself or a credit to my account). I have not as of this date been credited (perhaps next billing cycle) but did receive the Dimplex stove in perfect condition within days of my inquiry. I was interested in a unit which did not exceed 1500 watts on the high setting as I was concerned any higher wattage would need a dedicated line; remember though, that most hair dryers are 1600 or more watts but we don't operate them all the time. I really didn't want the flame effect, just the heater which was a little larger than the small ones sold in major stores such as Wal-Mart, Lowe's, etc., but to my surprise, the flame gives just enough light so that I am able to turn off the lamp I previously kept on in the room where I have the stove. The blower is very quiet and actually gives a soothing noise which is conducive to sleep. I usually keep it on low but if it were really cold, the high setting would heat a small room or two if they were closed off. It is just enough heat to take the chill off cool evenings. I would venture to say that the heater would be a romantic addition to a bedroom as it is absolutely charming with its glowing flame effect and gentle heat. The stove is only guaranteed for a year, but then so too was a very expensive oven which I purchased for my kitchen and INDEED it was dead in about a year.... so don't expect TOO much from this charming stove for the money. I only wish Dimplex sold these in stores such as Sam's Club, Wal-Mart, Lowe's, etc., as it puts to shame the heaters/stoves they sell for less money, but who wants their utilitarian heaters/stoves junking up their home? To date, I am very happy with the Dimplex Free Standing Cube stove. As my husband states, "tell them in the review that the stove is lovely." (I can't believe HE said that but he really did!)

I moved into a town home and really wanted a fireplace: Began doing research and found this solution! It is retro cool! It is the perfect amount of cheeze in a box. I love it, my daughter loves it, my cat loves it! One of the features that we enjoy is that you can have the fire effect on with no heat. So even when it is warm and rainy, you can have the effect of a fire and its soothing nature. I read some reviews that people were sad that it doesn't crackle like a fire, but it isn't fire it is a cool electric heater! Oh, and another selling point, is that because it is on a chrome pedestal it can be set on carpet (I confirmed this with Dimplex)...and it is portable. I don't know how well it heats a space yet, because it is summertime, but I suspect it will live up to its claims.

This thing is adorable, works like a powerhouse, and has been doing so steadily for over a year. It looks like a real fireplace, and makes the apartment feel much homier. The heat settings are surprisingly strong—I don't think I've ever had to use the highest setting, even mid-winter in New York—and my bedroom doesn't have heat but does have two giant, drafty windows.

This fan is great! I bought 2 more of these after I got the first one! It moves LOTS OF AIR and it's QUIET! I have owned many fans in my life. Floor fans blow air up at you, ceiling fans blow air down on you and I don't like either. I just returned an 18 inch fan because it was TOO LOUD. Don't listen to other reviews that say this fan is weak. It's not. It BLOWS LIKE THE WIND and its VERY QUIET ! Here's a trick I use > Place the fan near the air conditioner vent and aim it at you. It keeps me much cooler without having the AC up on high and wasting electric and money. Afterall, as long as I'm cool, that's cool man!

Our place has no air conditioning and although we live in the pacific NW, it can still get really hot/humid for 3-6 weeks of the summer. After going to Home Depot, Lowes and other places I found their fans to be too expensive, especially since I needed to buy FOUR of them. I read reviews of this fan as well as other more pricier name-brand fans and I decided to take a gamble with these. Well, I am sure glad I did because I got FOUR fans for under $100 and they all work fantasticly. Yes, they are lightweight and maybe not as aesthetically pleasing as other fans out there, but it does the job. They have 3 different levels and the air output is definitely significant. I would highly recommend.

Not the sturdiest fan. Comes apart easily whether you want it to or not. Not a lot of air flow. You get what you pay for. I suggest paying more.
