Great timer I have a 97 Ford F250 power stroke diesel, only have block heater on two hours in the morning just like it was plugged up all night.

I bought this at a local store last Fall and it has repeatedly failed on me. The reason is because there is no battery backup to save the programming in case of a power interruption even if there is a "blip" from your electric company and the power doesn't go out, this device resets everything deleting the settings you put in, and doesn't work unless you reprogram it. There's no feeling like going outside on a sub-zero morning and finding that your block heater was never on.Also don't plan on programming this in the house then going outside to re-plug it in if you buy it, as the settings are instantly lost and you will have to monkey around with programming it outside in the cold weather.
Notice the product features and description listed here on amazon: ''Settings are reset when unplugged'' and ''Settings erased if power is interrupted.'' I wasn't aware of that when I bought it at the store and wish I could return it. I previously had a Whirlpool timer that lasted over a decade, had an AA battery backup for the programming in case of a power failure and was always reliable until last Fall. It's not made anymore and I'm on amazon now looking for something else to use next year and thought I'd warn other customers about this timer, which is another piece of junk made in China with an American brand name.
