Smaller then I thought it would be. Overall size is 4 3/4" square, 2" thick. Very Heavy all metal construction. Made in Taiwan which explains its heavy cast iron construction. Nice and quiet. I don't see a UL approval label on it though.

This is the second fan from this manufacturer that I have purchased. The first fan was purchased 10 years ago and still is running and quiet. I bought the second fan to help with circulating the air from my heater to the other rooms in my house. These fans run all winter long (6 months). I have even used these fans when it gets to hot in the summer to help cool the house. I can't think of anything bad to write about these fans. They are quiet, durable, hardly noticeable when mounted. These fans are well worth the money paid up front. For the length of time they last, the cost is cheap. I would recommend these to anyone interested in wanting to buy a fan to help circulate the heat down your halls and into the other rooms in your house.

We've had five of the Oak Ridge circulating fans over the years. Unfortunately, they don't last more than two years before they slow down and then stop altogether. We have a pellet stove and I'm assuming that it's dust from the stove that gums it up (I'm not sure why because the fan is located about 25 feet from the stove). I can't find any way of disassembling the unit to clean/lube it. I've tried forced air and electrical contact cleaner and neither freed it up. Why have we bought 4-5 of them? All but one unit has been exceptionally quiet and they run great until they seize up. At $40 a pop, it's a little expensive, but we haven't found a quieter unit on the market. If we do, we'll see if it can hold up longer than the Oak Ridge. Our latest fan started slowing down the other night and now it has stopped altogether. NOTE: The one unit that was noisy still runs, so we usually use it until we buy a new one.

The fan feels heavy and sturdy. It is quiet and moves a lot of air. Our wood stove is in the basement and we have two upper floors. It raised the temperature upstairs by several degrees. We run it constantly and we hardly notice the noise. We are happy with the product.

Update:

We ran the fan now constantly for about 4 month, all winter long. It has been going day and night with no problems. Still very happy with it.

This is a good little fan. Easy to mount and has a switch. In a perfect world I'd like to have a white cord. It moves the air well but, it is not quiet. In reality, any fan that is that small and moving 55 cfm is going to make noise. You just can't expect it to be quiet. It raised the temp in my far hallway by 5 degrees and that's what I wanted. Good product.
