They work good and do capture a lot of dust. However, they cut the air flow by about 25%. If your ducts aren't sealed properly, I'd avoid any filter like these.

This is just like a piece of rectangle felt that you could buy at a fabric store for much cheaper. Vent mate is much better because it is like a cardboard insert with felt, that fits nicely in the vent.I will buy vent mate again on not this True blue product ( even though Amazon has them listed as vent mate they are not vent mate, they are true blue) next time when it is time to change out these.

I have used this type of filter with decent results. I prefer the VentMask to any other vent register filter. I like that you can apply a VentMask anywhere. I use them at home and especially when we take family vacations in our hotels to control my sons allergies. I found them at ...hope this helps others looking for filters.
