I installed this in the living room of my 5th wheel trailer. We rarely see temps below freezing, so this does a nice job of keeping my trailer toasty. The all steel construction is much better than the plastic De Longhi that it replaced. I have it wall mounted, so I can't comment on the wheels.
RV's do not have unlimited current available, so the ability to run this on 5, 10 or 15 amps is very useful.
Expensive, but worth it. The steel case can be opened, it therefore can be repaired.

I purchased this heater for 40.00 at Walmart.
I love that it's digital, has the safety shut off switch if the unit is tipped and that it's efficient. I like that it has a thermostat and doesn't run constantly and that it's small, portable and attractive.
It really works well. Heats up a large size room quickly on the low 'e saver' setting.
I will be buying another one soon.
The day before I had brought home an inexpensive Holmes unit. It also didn't work. The fixed temp settings stopped working after the first use. It too went back.
I'm not having a whole lot of luck with space heaters. Our old Honeywell unit stopped working the other day. Miraculously, today it started working again. Go figure.

This is a great heater. I am actually going to buy another one for my craft room upstairs. I have this one down in my shop under my bench. I have had it now for 2 years and it's still running great. It goes all day long without any problems. It keeps my legs warm and I am able to dial in whatever temperature I want. The oscillating feature is great too.Best Deals for HWLHZ370 - Ceramic Heater,Oscillating,7-1/4x9-1/8x13-3/4,LGY/CE

Brought one of these home yesterday (in black, not white), had a lot of trouble getting it to turn on. Seems to be an intermittent in the on/off switch. Today it won't go on at all. It's going back. I bought two, and am glad I did. Great bargain. Feels nice and fluffy. I use it atop my love seat and it's there to wrap around me when it's chilly but not cold enough to turn on the heater.

Cheap Swizz Style F-007 Fred Humidifier, Red
The company sent the humidifier very quickly and in good condition. It is a funny looking thing. Reminds me of a red spaceship. It will get noticed in your home by friends. It's so different looking then the standard humidifier.
This works like a teakettle blowing a medium or low amount of steam depending on the setting you choose. It is very quiet. During the day with TV volume and conversation you can't hear anything. At night when it's quit you can hear the water boiling but it is not loud enough to be annoying. Best there are no extra filters needed and all it takes is a weekly cleaning to remove the lime buildup.
The unit itself stays cool to the touch during use but the flow of steam is hot right where it comes out so you will need to use caution with very young children. This unit stands very securely; I feel it would take a pretty hard hit to knock it over. Also the water is in a separate container inside.
The instructions do not say the area this humidifier humidifies nor the amount of time it takes to empty the water tank. On low my empties in about 8-10 hours. The electricity used is 200w for low and 300w for high setting. The low setting works well for me. It has auto shut off when the water runs out.
I have this product for about three weeks. It is very easy to add water to. It is also easy to do the weekly cleaning. It does not leak or leave any kind of water stains during use.
One problem with the unit is that it is made out of plastic. The nozzle through which the steam comes out of is plastic painted with silver paint. The paint started to bubble near the top inner part of the nozzle on my humidifier. If the bubbles break it will not look so great. That is why I'm giving this product 4 stars instead of five.
There are almost no reviews on the web about this product. I believe it sells in red, silver, black and a lime color. If you like the unique shape don't be afraid to give it a try.

'Fred' is one of the coolest humidifiers on the market. With it's space-age look, this is not your typical household appliance that you want to hide. Worth the extra money. I prefer warm mist humidifiers because they don't create the white film that the ultrasonic humidifiers leave behind. Unfortunately, my 'Fred' came with a broken leg due to poor packaging by Amazon (tsk-tsk), so I had to return him. (I'm pretty sure it's a 'he.') Love the fact 'he' comes in so many awesome colors too!Best Deals for Swizz Style F-007 Fred Humidifier, Red
I purchased this item a couple of years ago and thought it was great. I was refilling it recently when I found that the top was stuck to the base, upon inspection I could see that both sections had warped, evidently due to excessive heat. Considering I ran the humidifier all winter long and filled it two to three times a day I knew this had happened very suddenly, it had been working perfectly and came apart easily a few hours previously. I believe this could have created a fire hazard had I not discovered it in a timely manner. I sent an email to Stadler Form (the manufacturer) telling them what had happened but heard nothing back from them, apparently they are not interested in complaints. I won't be buying another.Sunday, May 18, 2014

Buy Lasko 5365 Ceramic Pedestal Heater with Remote Control
Customer Ratings:
List Price: $49.99

This could be a very good heater option for some people, if the features fit what you need.
It takes up relatively little floor space, and the pedestal design puts the heater up a little higher, if that suits your needs. (A regular tower heater might be fine for lots of people, though.)
It's 30 tall" and the base is a 12" circle. The top part is about 7.5" wide at the top (the widest part).
Pros:
High 1500W (5118 BTU) and low 900W (3070 BTU) settings. And two fan speeds to go with that the fans runs more slowly and quieter on low which is a feature that's missing on many heaters for some inexplicable reason.
Quiet for a heater with a fan, especially on the low setting. (But that can't be used with the auto thermostat setting, see below!)
Well built, and well packed.
The light weight and convenient handle, at the top of the back, make it easy to carry and move around.
The controls are well placed, easy to read, and make sense they do the things you'd think they should.
The LCD shows the room temperature and the thermostat setting, exactly no guessing on a dial with marks around it! Both seem very accurate it matches a digital thermometer I have in the room.
Cons:
The biggest one by far for me the auto setting (to maintain the temperature you set) only uses high heat. Low auto isn't an option.
No automatic shutoff if it tips over. Maybe the overheat protection would take care of it, and it doesn't really get that hot but I'd think they'd want to have that in a heater with this design.
The base looks a little big 12" across but I suppose it has to be to make the pedestal work.
There's no auto low setting which was the main reason I wanted this heater, to have something quiet that could maintain the temperature in a bedroom at night. That would also mean it would switch on and off fewer times, and draw less peak electric current. Big oversight on the manufacturer's part.
Though otherwise, it's about as quiet as fan heater could be, I imagine. If you need something quieter, look at something like the DeLonghi HHP1500 Mica Panel Radiator very quiet, but the heat circulates only by convection (hot air rising), which might not work for all situations.
This heater requires some assembly of the pedestal and base. Just tightening some screws, really, but it's a little cumbersome since the top piece can't rest anywhere given the shape. Just plan on it taking ten minutes or so.
The manufacturers website, laskoproducts.com, has more info and you can download the owners' manuals in pdf form.
There are multiple model number versions of this heater 5355, 5365, and 5350 and as far as I can tell they vary only in the colors and what stores sell them. You can read lots more comments on a similar version of this heater at the HomeDepot website.
Pros:
-Comes with remote
-Is quiet (It sounds like a fan on a low setting)
-Heats well
-Space efficient (takes up little room)
-Very lightweight with handle (easy transport)
-Won't start a fire! (I touched the face of it and held my hand to it on high setting, it is warm but not painfully hot. The entire rest of the unit stays so cool it is amazing!)
Cons:
-Control Panel is only visible from almost directly in front (I thought there was something wrong at first because I couldn't make out anything on it)
-Timer Function: You may only set the timer to go for a certain length of time. I was under the impression you could set the heater to START after a certain time (e.g., to warm up the room before you get home)
Other than that I found that you have to keep it on oscillating to really keep the room warm, otherwise it only heats the area in front of it and continually switches to low power, never getting the entire room to the desired temperature. I went through a ton of these reviews on different heaters and one concern I saw in a bunch of them was that the power cord might not hold up (i.e. cause electrical fire). I got the heater for my girlfriend so I wanted to be sure this wouldn't be a problemI ran it for over 14 hours straight on the high setting and the cord wasn't even warm, so that put my fears to rest.
I've only owned this thing for about a month so I'll give a durability assessment later. If I don't change my review you can be sure that it hasn't broken downI will absolutely complain if this thing malfunctions within the next two years.
Update:
So she left it at her parents place over the weekend, and after setting it up they decided they wanted one for themselves. Just another testament to how well it works!
12/07/09 Update on this heater. I bought these two space heaters over a year ago. I covered them during the summer to prevent dust and the one other thing we don't do is use the oscillating feature. From trial and error with other floor heaters, that seems to wear them out quicker. Both these units are now into heavy use over the last month for their second winter. We have had no issues. I am about to buy 3 more because we fight over which rooms get these. My favorite things about these heaters are: (1) they are very quiet, (2) the timer feature, (3) physically do not seem to get hot like other heaters, (4) pedestal design gets the heat where you want it, (5) they work they heat a good sized bedroom. We've had no problems with either unit.
It really does a good job keeping the bedroom warm. Sometimes I'll wake up and it'll be too hot that I have to turn it off... did I tell you that it comes with a remote control????
It's a great thing to have by the night table especially when you wake up in the middle of the night and don't feel like getting out of bed to shut it off.
I also love the fact that you can adjust the temperature to what you want and also how many hours you want it on for.
It's a excellent heater to have It's especially great for those of you who have Landlords that are too cheap to give you heat.

This heater works great! Now I have to give a little disclaimer: I don't have much experience with many different brands or types of space heaters. I do know however that this space heater kept a 20'x25' room at 85 degrees no problem. I should mention that one of the walls in this room is almost entirely windows (which lose heat quickly).Pros:

Best Deals for Lasko 5365 Ceramic Pedestal Heater with Remote Control
We try to reduce our heating bills by keeping upstairs doors closed, setting the furnace thermostat down and using space heaters for the room we are in. Last year I tried several space heaters. All but 2 stopped working. This year I bought the LASKO heater. After a month of using it I ordered another. We use them constantly. What we love about it: the base and shape of it, extremely quiet, heats a small room well, the timer feature and remote are very nice. Dislike: haven't found anything yet. If these continue working all winter, I will be very pleased. So far we have ran them to death and had no problems with them.12/07/09 Update on this heater. I had been searching online for a heater for months. I looked at every review. I got one at target for $50 and had it for about 1 month. The air started coming out cold once the heater felt the room was warm enough! Finally I started to borrow my roommates heater this one. It was awesome. Heats a room really fast. You can feel the heat right away. The cord gets a little warm when it's on too long but it turns off by itself if it gets too warm so no worries there. My roommate has had hers for about 3 years so I'm confident mine will last a long time.Buy this! You'll be glad you did.

Trudeau 0823004 Electric 11-Piece 3-in-1 Fondue Set Review
The Trudeau electric fondue pot is a triumph of form following function. Being electric it is very convenient to use and arguably safer than "sterno" units. It is versatile and can be used with cheese, meat or dessert fondues. Compared to others presently on the market, it has the distinct advantage of being the only one truly designed for all three types of fondue.
I tested the Rival and the Cuisinart. Both use direct heat technology, which is fine for oil or broth based fondue which require high heat. However, when you cook cheese or dessert you have use a low heat setting. Both units cycle between "on" and "off" at various intervals trying to keep a steady temperature. This creates either rapid boiling or fast cooling. Making a cheese or chocolate fondue with the Rival and Cuisinart is doable, but be prepared to be stirring the pot a lot to prevent scorching the food. The Westinghouse seems to be the same design as the other two, but I have not tried it.
As for the Trudeau it has several nice features. First, the pot is separate from the heating base. This means you can heat the pot in the kitchen and bring it to the table when ready. The heating surface is teflon coated for easy clean up. The unit is also more "upright" than the other electrics which takes up less space on your table, while looking darn good too. IMHO.
However, what gives the Trudeau its distinct advantage is the unique double boiler system where, when making cheese or dessert fondue, you fill the chrome pot with 20 ounces of water and insert a stoneware crock into the pot. The arrangement allows for even heating at lower temperatures which is essential for cheese and chocolate fondues.
For oil or broth fondues, the chrome pot sit atop the direct heat of the heating base as you would expect. Six better than average fondue forks are included along with a fork holder for the chrome pot to keep the forks from sliding around. Another nice feature is the patented electric plug which eliminates the guesswork of knowing which way to insert the plug into the base.
If you want one fondue pot to serve all your needs, this is the one to buy.
Now on to this fondue pot, the Trudeau.
PROS:
Even heating. The ceramic insert elevates the cheese fondue experience to a 100% replication of your memories at the Melting Pot. It is the main standout of this device.
The magnetic cord stays attached much more securely than the other models. If you accidentally tap your fork against it, it WON'T detach. That's a good thing.
CONS:
Very small when compared to the other brands, about HALF the size, especially when cooking cheese fondues and using the ceramic insert.
No temperature gauge whatsoever. Just a red bar. Guesswork required.
Very cumbersome to transport. I didn't realize this at the time of purchase, maybe I misread something, but this fondue pot comes in THREE pieces: The heating skillet base, the metal pot liner (for broths), and the ceramic inner liner for cheeses. So if you start cooking your fondue in the Kitchen and want to move it to the living/dining room, you're in for a complicated series of trips. Also, there are NO HANDLES on the actual heating base, only on the metal broth liner and those are small and metal at that. Good luck moving the base without burning yourself. The other models like the Rival and Cuisinart are one piece devices with plastic handles. Pop off their cords and away you can go.
The STICKER. If you've read the other reviews on here, yes, the complaints over that blasted sticker are extremely valid. Its round, about three or four inches in diameter and attached directly to the surface of the skillet style heating base unit. Its not one of those "easy peel" plastic stickers either. It comes off in micro-millimeter bits, leaving a lot of glue residue on the hot plate. Which WILL stink like heck when you turn it on the first couple of times.
Price. Is this REALLY worth TWICE the price of the other models? You have to decide that for yourselves, but if I had this purchase to make again I would not have spent over $50 for this product. Three stars = "It's Okay"
The double boiler for the cheese and chocolate is perfect. The cheese stayed nice and evenly melted through the entire time we were eating it. The chocolate melted quite well, but our recipe wasn't that good, so it got very tacky. I don't believe that was the fault of the pot.
For the main dinner course, we discarded the small fork holding ring. It was too crowded with the ring and many of our meats were impossible to get out. You also can't really get in there with a rescue spoon when the ring is on. Without the ring, the forks are more tipsy and might fall out if they get tangled. This is the only reason the review looses a star.
As mentioned by everyone, the cord is VERY short. You will need an extension cord unless you have an outlet on the table. The magnetic disconnect worked very well and we had no issues with it.
This is a fantastic product. The only thing I would wish for would be a slightly larger version that could comfortably serve more people.
I tested the Rival and the Cuisinart. Both use direct heat technology, which is fine for oil or broth based fondue which require high heat. Never thought I really liked Fondue until I went to the Melting Pot for dinner on my birthday. Quite expensive so I decided to try it at home. Let me be the voice of reason to counter all the glowing five star reviews on here. I've been using electric fondue pots at home since my first visit to the Melting Pot over ten years ago. The West End, Rival and Cuisinart models are virtually the same, with identical Pros and Cons. For those pots, all the magnetic cords come off if a piece of dust settles onto the device. The heating element is of the on/off variety that makes cooking cheese fondues "challenging" to the say the least. But not impossible. On the plus side those models are large, do broth fondues VERY well, have a temperature gauge for precise heating and double as fryers with ease.

I bought this for my girlfriend's birthday along with some fondu cookbooks. The Melting Pot is a favorite restaurant of ours and this set helped us get a similar experience from the comfort of our own home.
