We purchased this towel warmer (from Costco online) when our old warmer died after 20 years of use. We tried another towel warmer (a cheaper one) and it was super hot in spots and very cold in other spots so we returned it. This model, wall mounted, has all metal parts, easy installation with two allen wrenches provided and a visible on/off switch at the top.
It has five rails and gets pretty darn hot. So our towels are warm and dry after every use.
We keep it turned on all the time which helps to rid the bathroom of excess moisture and adds a little more warmth to the room in the winter.
Be aware that the option to wall mount or free stand is not available in one box. Ours was only wall mountable and did not have the option to use free standing. There must be two models and the choice is made at purchase time.
This is a nice model and in comparison to other towel warmers in this price range, is a high quality product.

I have been using this product for a couple months now. It's a simple fireplace grate, so lets not get ahead of ourselves on reviews. It's steel, with a durable painted on coating. It fits my fireplace well, and the grooved cross-members seem to do a good job of making as much of the wood surface available for combustion as possible. It provides a good grip on the logs too. Seems to be extremely well made so I do not expect to have any problems with it at all.

I take full responsibility for not reading the FULL description. Although the specifications listed are exact to all outside dimensions, this grate is very lightweight and may not hold up to frequent fire usage. it is much smaller, flimsy and less useful than the 27" grate I bought a couple of years ago. I would not buy this again. Not the quality expected.Best Deals for V-Bar Steel Fireplace Grate

We got a great deal on this grate because it had been returned, but it was in new condition when we got it. So far it has survived more than a few fires. Next winter, we're gonna try and melt it.Monday, August 4, 2014

I chose this space heater for looks and BTUs. I have a closed in screen porch and had planned to use it there. I knew I was in trouble when I ran it for the first time. The heat can be felt about 3' in front of the unit at most with the temp and fan/heat setting at max. Very underpowered based on product heating claims. It will be returned because it will not heat the amount of space advertised. Looks nice though.

While a lot of my euro friends made claims that only Americans get faux fireplaces, everyone seems to like it now that they get to sit in front of it and stare at the lights. It really does have the same relaxing effect of a fire. The lights can go on whether one turns on the heat function or not. The heat function works fantastic as suggested. Heats up a 400 sq foot space with no problem. I have a flat panel TV on top and there is no problem having the heater on with the TV there.
The console is very sturdy. There is plenty of room for cable box, books, and other media related items. You get the typical backing which includes holes for cable cords on both top and bottom. It is very easy to put together. The lights in the fireplace have the same relaxing effect of a fire.
It's a little pricey, given that it is literally a heating unit in a media shelf. However, I think if you tried to recreate this look separately it would never work. Moreover, I like that it's space saving. I have a fire place and a TV unit all together. That's particularly key for your typical NYC apartment.
All in all very happy!!

I am very happy with my new Mr. Heater hose hook up, but it did need some tweeking.
I purchased the 12' Mr. Heater hose assembly, hooked it up, clicked the red Mr. Heater spark button and got a small pilot light to burn maybe 4 seconds. Then I could get nothing, no flame at all.
This is not uncommon, I am finding out. The problem has to do with the new OPD safty rigged propane cylinders. Actually, it is caused by a very good safty valve that makes a lot of sense.
There is an Excess Flow shut off valve in the new OPD units, so that your granddaughter dosen't accidently open up a cylinder in your garage and get frost bite or worse from propane shooting out. When the valve senses a sudden need for gobs of propane it shuts off or greatly limits the flow. Sounds like a good thing to me.
However, the people at Mr. Heater make no mention of this. That's not so good. It took me maybe 45 mins. to an hour searching on the internet and experimenting with my own hose before I got it working.
What worked for me was this:
Once the E.F. valve shuts off it wants to stay closed. So you want to bleed a small amount of "hiss" off the pressure valve. To do this, you will find a small slotted screw head on the side of the pressure valve up on top of the tank. Slightly loosen this, let it hiss for a moment then tighten it down again. Now, with Mr. Heater hose hooked up and Mr. Heater off, slowly open the propane cylinder, hopefully you will hear it hiss inside the hose for a moment. That means the valve intially opened and is slowly filling the hose. Wait maybe five minutes for it to fill the hose. Once the pressure in the hose equalizes, you should be able to light Mr. Heater.
This got me going. I hope it helps anyone else with the same problem.
Sincerely,
Randy
1. It allows the use of a larger LP tank (I have a 20 lb cylinder). I'm certain the savings from buying LP fuel in bulk will pay for the hose.
2. You can locate the bulk tank away from the lit heater. I use the heater primarily in my garage. With the hose I can get the heater off the floor and still have the bulk tank in a convenient and safe spot.
3. The hose can be used with any propane appliance that uses disposable propane cylinders.
The five foot length of this hose could be a drawback if you need or want to locate the bulk tank at a substantial distance from the appliance; if you don't have the room to move the tank then the length is no problem. The 12 foot hose can provide more flexibility, however.
Here's an essential safety tip for using this hose: be sure to shut/close the valve on the bulk tank BEFORE you remove the hose from the tank. It is possible to remove the hose end from the bulk tank without closing the tank valve and you will quickly find out that liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) is another name for stinky, oily mess when it comes squirting out of the valve as I have done.

I use this with a small propane heater to keep my boat cabin warm during winter fishing. I keep the tank outside for safety and use the hose to connect to the heater. Works great. I strongly recommend you use an in-line filter to keep any debris in the tank from clogging the heater. My first Mr. Buddy quit working after 1 1/2 seasons due to a clog. purchased heater in the spring. Tried it once and appeared to be OK. Now that cool weather is here, I tried it again and the unit does not work. Unable to find manufacturer on internet to find out where to have it repaired. Unable to find the company or any information about the unit. Purchased in winter of 2009. I use to heat my insulated 20x17 garage, while I work on my vehicles or tinker with projects. It does a fine job. It takes about an hour or so to get the whole garage comfortable(65 degrees). I turn it on the 1500W setting to get up to the set temp, then turn down to 1300W setting and it kicks on and off to keep the temperature where it should be. If you're looking for a unit to keep a garage at a very warm temp(above 72 degrees)or warmer, you better have an unbelievebly well insulated area, and you definately need to spend more than $20. The safety tip over switch works very well has come in handy a few times.Best Deals for Comfort Zone CZ792BK Deluxe Milkhouse Electric Utility Heater, Black
I purchased this heater about 5 months ago before it started getting cold. Once the cold set in I started using this unit and and the first few weeks were fine. About 4 weeks into using the heater it started turning off by itself and turning on again minutes later. Now its to the point where it turns off literally every other minute its on and it stays off for about 10 minutes. Needless to say its not doing its job as a heater and if I could return it I would.Honest reviews on Comfort Zone CZ792BK Deluxe Milkhouse Electric Utility Heater, Black
This heater has an engineering flaw in the thermostat that causes the heater to turn on/off repeatedly when it should be running constantly. Once the heater gets up to temperature it then cycles on/off.Would not buy or recommend to anyone.

We managed to get just 1 season out of the Comfort Zone oil-filled space heater. Worked fine. We've been using it in our living room. This season, we used it for only a few weeks, then it started on fire at the top. Fortunately we were right by it so we could unplug it immediately. If we had been sleeping ---not a good scenario! The oily smoke smell was very strong throughout the whole house. This could have been very bad. We do not recommend this heater.

I purchased this heater from Menard's last winter and it saw fairly regular use for about 3 months. I got it out about a month ago and have used it only a few times and today it wouldn't work at all. We enjoyed the radiant heat that it put out when it worked, but I was disgusted that we didn't even one year out of it. After reading some of the other reviews, I decided to open up the controls and see if I could find out why it failed. I immediately noticed that the connections to the "tip-over" switch were burned, the wires were discolored, and the switch was melted slightly where the wire terminals entered the switch housing (see the picture that I included in the gallery). Seeing how several others have had similar problems with this heater, I would look for something else, it's not worth risking a house fire a for a cheap heater.Best Deals for Comfort Zone® Deluxe Oil Filled Radiator Heater CZ7007
I bought one of these heaters about 10-years ago. Exact same appearance still, not complaining. I primarily used it to heat my 2-car attached garage non-stop for 9-years. It kept the cars interiors warm and engines started easily. It lasted exactly 10-years, but the cheap 15-amp outlet I plugged it into last winter melted and destroyed the plug\cord with it. So I broke it down and threw it away. I have since replaced the outlet with a 20-amp model (NEMA 20R). I will buy another one of these heaters soon for this winter. I would recommend upgrading ANY outlet to a quality 20-amp model if a heater will run 24-7 plugged into it (the U.S. needs make 20-amp outlets & wiring standard like the Europeans).Honest reviews on Comfort Zone® Deluxe Oil Filled Radiator Heater CZ7007
I already owned an oil heater that generally looks like this, one that has been very good for a few years, heating a bedroom plus adjoining bathroom. However, this Comfort Zone product that I recently bought is not adequate. I am trying to get it to warm up one room (30DegF outside), but here I sit in a fleece jacket and coat while typing this, and the heater has been in the center of the room for an hour with the dial turned all the way up. I'm not very hot on this heater.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Comfort Zone® Deluxe Oil Filled Radiator Heater CZ7007
I bought two of these heaters one year ago, to the month. They worked well, producing heat without being overly hard on the electrical bill, throughout our Maine winter last year, which was a comparatively mild winter. We began using them again a few weeks ago, but one of them quit working yesterday. It was working, and then it wasn't. It doesn't even light up when turned on and yes, I've checked the electrical socket. In comparison, I have a Lakewood oil-filled heater that I bought more than eleven years ago and, while the wheel assembly has let me down, the heater itself still works great. I am rating it three stars because one of our heaters is still working, although I don't know for how long, and because they do work well as long as they are working. I expect to get more than a year out of it, though.Tuesday, December 3, 2013

Update on February 13, 2013. This steamer is amazing and the most used appliance in our kitchen. I steam whole grains in it, reheat food, cook vegetables it's a true winner and highly recommended.
-------------------------------------
I was waiting for more of you to review this steamer but then I was too curious to wait. We have really loved our Oster steamer but we are severly uncomfortable with the plastic components. I have been looking for over a year for another steamer that is BPA free/plastic free. The steamer arrived yesterday and we tried it out right away. I filled it with warm/hot tap water, and it steamed beautifully. The stainless steel bowls are neat. We bought this as an "intermediary" device until more healthy steamers come on the market. They could have added a few things to make this steamer perfect: water tank for 90 min. steaming; ability to add water while steaming; timer that allows steaming at future time; Keeping warm component basically stuff that I liked about our Oster steamer. Also, while the water basket is stainless steel, there is a hard plastic component that goes around the heating element I have no idea what plastic it is or whether it is BPA free and if BPA could leak into the steam and contaminate our food. I hope not.
A very cool advantage of this steamer, besides the stainless steel bowls, is that each basket gets its own steam so e.g. the thai dumpling steam does not flavor the broccoli. Also the stainless steel bowls are easy to wash. Our Oster plastic bowls were hard to clean around the steam holes and the plastic took on weird colors that would not come off.
Update: okay, we are sold we love this steamer; it steams really fast (it is powerful), I made rice and it worked out perfectly (I tried to make rice with the Oster once it was a met mess) in the time they indicated (brown rice, 50 min), and I realize that I can now season my food. With the Oster, only the rice bowl was solid, everything else you could not add anything to it. Today I made the rice, when it was almost done, I added a second level for veggies seasoned with herbs and olive oil just wonderful. Our old rice-cooker is gong to good will. I think this is all we need.
Pros:
* No plastics (the "hard plastic heating element" mentioned in the other reviews looks and feel like ceramic to me which is a common material for heating elements).
* The insert pans are optional, so if you have items that are taller than 2.5", you can add another layer and leave out the pan.
* Heats up pretty quickly, and steams all three layers well.
* Simple operation (mechanical dial to set the steam duration).
* Easy to clean, including the water reservoir. The various parts are all stainless steel and can be cleaned easily in the dish washer or with some Bar Keepers Friend. If you don't use distilled water, the water reservoir will end up with scaling, but that can be cleaned easily by heating it with a little distilled white vinegar. There are no hidden or hard to reach bits where mold or nasty mysterious stuff can grow.
* Makes great rice. I'd get rid of our dedicated rice maker except our fancy rice maker has advanced timing features (like setting it in the morning so that it finishes 30 minutes before "dinner time").
* Automatic shutoff safety feature if it runs out of water.
Cons:
* The stainless steel pans are pretty thin and looks cheap (definitely not nice 18/10 stainless steel). If you let water sit in the pans, you will get rust stains (fairly easy to clean off, but you will get them).
* The included chrome plated wire rack rusted pretty badly after just a few uses (replaced with a silicone steaming insert).
* Some sort of machine oil coated all the stainless steel parts. Even after washing everything in hot water and soap, the first couple of times we ran the steamer, some sort of black, oily stuff dripped into the pans. I recommend running the steamer without anything in it a few times until this no longer happens.
* No advanced timer functions. While the simple mechanical dial works great, it would be nice to be able to have the steamer start in some hours as opposed to immediately.
* Takes up lots of storage space. WYSIWYG the layers don't collapse in some clever way for storage.
* Seems expensive for what it is. It's the most expensive electric steamer on Amazon by far. For the cost, it feels like they could have used better stainless steel.
Having said all that, it's pretty much the only electric steamer that's guaranteed to not have any BPA / chemical leaching issues. So until other stainless steel or glass electric steamers become available, this is pretty much the only game in town if the plastics issue is important to you. I'm happy with the steamer overall. It does what it's supposed to. But hopefully, eventually there'll be more plastic free steamers with higher quality components and advanced timing features.
It looks real nice, although the steel/platic bottom combination confuses me.
Things I like about the product:
Basket bottoms are solid, so little food like corn does not drop through like other 'vented' baskets.
You can marinade items and keep the juice in the basket.
The baskets are seperate from the steam rings, they just slot in. Makes for cleaning the baskets rather easy. This also means you can remove a basket but stack the vent rings to accommidate something larger.
The steam vents are located at the top of each ring level, so if you want to cook fish, the steam travels through the vents on the outside, not through the food keeping flavours apart.
The baskets are large, which is great for our 4 person family. You can make an entire dinner from it with decent servings for all.
It has a super large water resevoir approx 6 cups or more. So anything that requires super long steaming does not require a refill.
Things I do not like about the product:
It leaks steam at each level, which can burn if you are not paying attention and want to peek inside to check food.
There is no visiable water level viewing which means taking off all of the levels if you do need to add more water durning cooking.
There is a base plate that sits between the white base and the first level that catches the excess water, this is very shallow with a lip approx 1/4" high and requires being by the sink to take off.
The base does not have a water resevoir insert so draining the excess water from that requires dangling the white unit over the sink to empty, which also means you can only clean out the base with a cloth or sponge wipe.
It came with two inserts in the base, does not state what the purpose of these inserts are in the instructions. One is stainless and the other plastic, they kinda seat over the heating filliment, I assume as a protector. I am clueless on this one.
The baskets do not sit (nest) inside of each other so you need storage space approx the size of the unit to store this. I had to designate a cupboard just for this item.
All in all.. I have to give this a 50/50. The size and holeless baskets are nice, but the impractical cleaning and storage turn me off this.
Not the best review as I am on the fence with this product. However I hope some of the information helps in you making an ultimate decision either way.
This new stainless steel steamer have not let us down. It is actually more powerful and steams faster. Filling with warm tap water, it steams within 20 secs, pretty amazing. Cold tap water takes a bit longer to boil.
And I love the design too. Apparently the structure is more complicated than ordinary steamer, with more parts. But only the steam basket needs washing after cooking, which is very easy to clean by hand washing. My old steamer baskets have many small holes at the bottom and you know it is a pain to clean all those tiny holes.
My experience with this food steamer is very positive. I will recommend this product.
This steamer is more than what I could have asked for. On top of that I had to contact customer service just to make sure that it was steaming in proper timing and they responded within the same day and offered to ship out a new one if something was wrong. I kept the original one I had because nothing was wrong after all. Its great to be able to cook three different items at once and with only prep needed. Once done just set the time and wait for it to be done. Brown rice takes about 60-65 minutes; 1 cup of rice and 2 cups of water. Vegetables take about 20-25 minutes (brocolli, carrots, potatoes, corn, sweet potatoes and sugar snap peas). It start steaming right away and the tree independent bowls are really great for not mixing flavors. Overall I would recommend and I am pleased with this purchase.

The single best thing about this steamer is that there's no need to worry about plastics (even plastics marketed as BPA-free may leach chemicals that mimic estrogen). I looked high and low on Amazon and this is pretty much the only electric steamer not made out of plastic. FYI, I purchased the 9-quart version (9" diameter, 2.5" deep pans). While we're happy to have the larger one for the steaming capacity, it's a bit hard to find storage space when it's not in use.Pros:

This was a gift from my husband as I had asked for one.It looks real nice, although the steel/platic bottom combination confuses me.
Honest reviews on Secura 3-Tier Stainless Steel Food Steamer, w/ Steam360 technology
The best thing I love about this food steamer is ... needless to say, Stainless Steel. The steam baskets are all made of stainless steel, the housing is stainless steel and the water tank is stainless steel!! My previous food steamer, while still functioning, are all plastic, even the water reservoir. Well, I am pretty sure they are safe to use and the manufacturers probably claim the contamination level is well below limit. But have they considered how many other different sources we are in contact with plastics and other contamination. When come in food, it is better to be safe than sorry, and stainless steel is proven to be safe. This is why we bought this stainless steel food steamer. We love steamed vegi, but not comfortable to use our old plastic steamer.
