Cheap Real Flame Mt. Vernon Corner 6950-X-DW Electric Fireplace in Dark
Aside from both boxes arriving with no damage, there isn't much else good to say about this piece. DO NOT believe anything you read about this being easy to put together. It took me over 5 hours with a power driver (I can't imagine how long it would have taken with the regular allen wrench they give you). The piece at the bottom didn't properly line up either and there's a gap that's very noticeable. Also, the screws were rusted into the screen rod and were impossible to get out without a vice and pliars and having to strip them. There were also no holes drilled for the firebox to install in the back of the unit (not that this was a big deal, but for those who don't have a power drill it would be since it mentions nowhere in the directions that you need one). Overall after it was together, it looks ok with the exception of the white bottom piece not lining up and leaving a gap. For $450, I would expect ALOT more quality craftmanship than what I got. I probably would have shipped the whole thing back for a refund, but tearing it apart again and re-packaging it just wouldn't be worth it. It's not horrible, but far from worth the amount I paid for it. If I could do it over, I'd look for other corner units. This fireplace is really nice looking. A great piece of furniture for my living room. The room is large and it helps keep it warm as I have quite a few windows. Really pretty. I love it. A couple of my friends are going to order this very same fireplace.

Discount Dyson AM04 Hot Heater Fan - White with Silver Trim
I bought my Dyson Hot heater for one simple reason, curiosity.
The Dyson sounded promising and made the pitch that it was something truly new and revolutionary so I bit and got one....a white one!
At first glance the quality looked good, fit and finish were tight and it looked good on the surface.
Sitting down, I kicked back and prepared to enjoy reading the manual....that was short lived as it had lots of information on warranty and legal guck and only the most basic of operation information with absolutely no information showing specifications, no power use...no Heat output....nothing
Moving on I plugged it into the power use tester to see how much power it would consume and in return how much heat it put out at 12 inches away.
Power use was high especially considering how low the temperature it was putting out, for example of the ten temp ranges (here are three examples): Level 1: 1207 watts @ 102 degrees ambient at 12 inches...Level 5: 1280 watts @ 108 degrees at 12 inches ambient and Level 10: 1391 watts @ 105 degrees at 12 inches ambient...I can rub my hands together and get higher temps, these are dismally low numbers when compare to my 5 year old HOTBLAST Ceramic heater that puts out 142 degrees at 24 inches at 750 watts.
True the heater is being touted as SAFE and it is, but it has no more safety features than any $15.00 heater, not even a grounded plug....both have tip over protection and overload protection but claiming to be safe while you sit there freezing as your power meter spins, little conciliation since this is SUPPOSED to be a heater first and foremost not some over priced thing ah ma jig!
Now comes the real fun....in the three weeks I have owned it, from day one the thermostat has been mis-behaving, (dysfunctional). It turns off when it reaches the preset shutoff but between 30 seconds to two minutes later turns right back on and just continues this off and on routine indefinitely or until you manually shut the heater off.
Then there is mis-calibrated thermostat between three to five degrees high when in operation (it says it is 68 degrees when in reality two other thermostats placed right next to the base confirm it is actually only 64.
Dyson's HOT selling points are as follows:
1. Brushless motor (the fan / heater industry has used them for over 20 years)
2. Air Multiplier Technology ( Ducted fans have been used in portable heaters for over 50 years)
3. Long Range heat projection, (this I will agree with, Dyson has figured it out that smooth low pressure air flow is better than high pressure when it comes to heat, the faster it moves the more is dissipates and the more heat is lost, unfortunately the high energy requirement to generate the low heat output from this heater means energy efficiency and heat production is poor at best.
4. Safety features (nothing new here virtually all portable electrics have had tip over and overload protection for the past ten years and this heater also lacks one of the MOST important feature.....a GROUNDED PLUG!)
5. Precise temperature control (a very standard digital temperature control that with the Dyson lacks timed use feature and in my samples case had debilitating issues....see above)
6. No Worry Burning Smell (burning dust odor is typical of the environment it is used in and old wire or nichrome type heaters which have long since been replaced by cheaper aluminum PTC elements, the Dyson does have micro fine air intakes but deep inside it also has a secondary filter that is not easily serviced to stop any dirt from getting into the heating elements from the impeller itself, unfortunately THIS is what will plug and heat output and efficiency will be reduced significantly. Other odors the Dyson Hot WILL pick up because it is made of plastic will be food and environmental odors).
7. High Air Flow Cooling Fan ( because this is a heater the fan velocity has been greatly reduced over the Dyson fan and is simply no better than the fan mode available on 95% of all portable heaters over the past five years)
8. Complete Control with its remote control unit (again, nothing new here as most mid range portable heaters $19.95 and above have them but the Dyson is different in that it is tiny and very easy to loose).
Dyson claims they took three years and 22 engineers to come up with this,if so I seriously want to know where they were educated because in the end the Dyson HOT is simply no better than most $15.00 portable electric heaters when it comes to safe heating.
P.T. Barnum said it best "There is a Sucker Born Every Minute"....or Captain Jack Sparrow "Take what ya can....GIVE NOTHIN' BACK"....that's this heater then there is the salt in the wound, not even made in the UK....made in Malaysia because labor is 30% cheaper!
Sorry Dyson, I had really hoped for just a grain of truth but your product simply does not prove out at many levels...If B.S. were heat, the Dyson HOT could heat the world! This product is amazing. Not as a heater but as a conversation piece and a work of industrial art. You can buy a simple couch at Ikea and it will do just fine or you can buy an expensive Italian sofa for ten times as much and be proud. You can buy a boring but functional suit for 200 bucks or you can get a tailored one for three grand. This heater does what it says and it looks great doing it. My only real gripe is that it can be a bit noisy but not more noisy than a traditional one. And I kind of wish it was ceramic. That would have extra cool factor.

Cheap Heated Stainless Steel Mug Car Coffee Cup With Charger
Customer Ratings:
List Price: $14.95
Sale Price: $1.26

I bought this mug to replace a similar item that had stopped heating. The new mug looks the same on the outside, but the interior is plastic rather than stainless steel. The visible plastic rim should have tipped me off, but I wouldn't have thought it could turn out this bad. It heats up just fine, but when it does, my coffee tastes more like plastic than like coffee. I tried washing it a couple times and heating up some soapy water in it, but the plastic taste remains. Keep searching until you find a heated mug that you can confirm has a non-plastic interior.
The first one worked until water got in the inside of the shell. While I am not sure whether or not someone put it in the dishwater (probably a no no) the fact is that I was using the cup plugged in with my left arm on the open window frame of my car and when the cup touch my lip I recieved a shock to my arm.
Trashed that one and bought the second one 2 weeks ago.
This one must have a faulty thermostat because the outer shell gets too hot to touch.
Also, the electrical conection in the handle has broken free making it very difficult to attach the plug.
Don't think I'll try for #3.

This heated car mug worked well for a couple of weeks, but then the connection between the mug and a wire stopped working. Something wrong with the connecting parts. It just does not stay connected. The connection between the wire and a car (sigarett outlet) works well. But it does not help much, because the wire does not connect to the mug, so it does not do the intended job. My coffe is cold.Best Deals for Heated Stainless Steel Mug Car Coffee Cup With Charger
When I first bought this mug, I heated water in it to test it. It heated the water just fine but it smelled AWFUL kinda' like a tire. I've been filling the mug repeatedly with boiling water and it's getting better. I'm looking forward to using the mug soon when the smell is completely leeched out. However, I would strongly recommend you just buy a different mug and spare yourself the effort.Honest reviews on Heated Stainless Steel Mug Car Coffee Cup With Charger

Cheap LASKO 5965 PIVOTING CERAMIC HEATER with ELECTRONIC CONTROL
I've used it for two winter seasons in a 20 x 20 room over the garage to supplement the faint wisp of air that comes from the main house HVAC system. The room use to be a constant 55-60 degrees. The Lasko is set from November until April on 70 degrees. It has worked very well with no flaws as of yet.
It's another piece of junk made in China, now destined for a U.S. landfill.
Don't waste your money on Lasko.

I have used my heater for more than four years as a supplement to the central heating in my office in three different buildings. It has worked flawlessly and continues to provide excellent service.Best Deals for LASKO 5965 PIVOTING CERAMIC HEATER with ELECTRONIC CONTROL
Received this as a Christmas gift. Used very lightly in my office. Died after a few months of use. Simply won't turn on. I imagine the electronics fried in it from the heat. More likely, there is a chip in there that causes it to die shortly after the warranty is expired. It's another piece of junk made in China, now destined for a U.S. landfill.

Review of KRUPS FL700D50 Electric Kettle with Incorporated Tea Infuser
Customer Ratings:
List Price: $156.00
Sale Price: $89.99

Krups has done a great job with this tea kettle! This item makes a perfect cup of tea! I was not so sure about purchasing it since it is a new item and hadn't been reviewed before. It arrived in just two days and I used it immediately. It is very simple to use. So simple that you wonder why it cost $100. But really, that's a good thing. You are definitely paying for the quality and it is very well constructed. I wasn't sure if the infuser basket was glass or plastic. Turned out it is plastic. The directions talked about a plastic taste that you may experience at first use, but I heated and disposed of two kettles of water with the infuser lowered prior to actually brewing tea and I experienced no plastic taste at all. I would hope that Krups would have made the infuser BPA free, but I can't find any evidence either way. The water heats quickly and the multi-temperature function is great for brewing various types of teas. Also, once you brew, the pour spout has a fine mesh screen that will prevent any loose tea debris from escaping into your tea cup. I brew a lot of rooibos tea which is very fine and some of the tea does escape the infuser. The other good thing is that it has a double infuser (a basket that the actual infuser sits in) which allows you to place other items that can use a longer brewing time into the basket prior to lowering the tea infuser. For me, I like to add a little fresh ginger into the basket. Clean up is very easy as well. Only thing is, I would have loved to see some intermediate measurements on the carafe in addition to the max fill line. All in all I've been enjoying this product and would definitely recommend it. It's all a tea lover would ever need to brew a great cup of tea!
Works great.. only thing that could make it better is a noise to let you know its done heating up.
The Breville model similar to this one has a feature where you can heat in 5 deg increments and a timer to start boiling water for people who want their tea before work etc...and i believe this informs you when its done heating.. but for $230 for the Breville model the Krups is a cheaper alternative.
Now for the reason it is not a five star.
the heat settings listed don't match my 2 test thermometers. I wanted a 165 setting that the product doesn't have.
I found that mine actually has one, because all the settings except boil are about 10 degrees lower than the listed temperature, so if i want 165 degree, i set it at 175 and so on.
so, for me it works, just, if you get this product check the temperatures.
Just so you know, i purchased this about a week ago. I do use it about 4 or 5 times a day
april first 2013 and still working well
Very attractive and functional kettle. I especially like the hold temperature setting that keeps the water at the selected temp for an hour great for grabbing that last-minute coffee before heading out the door in the morning. The glass kettle is sturdy and the spout pours well.
Cons:
The base unit quit working after less than six months. Luckily I had registered the product with Krups and they were able to look up my purchase and issue an RMA over the phone without a receipt. They also sent me a pre-paid shipping label to send the kettle to a local authorized repair station. I'm sending it out today for repair/replacement. Hopefully this malfunction is random and not indicative of a design flaw.
UPDATE:
After owning this kettle for six months (including the month or so it was being repaired) the joint where the plastic spout attaches to the glass has begun to leak, which results in a teaspoon of water dribbling onto the counter each time I pour a cup. I hesitate to send it back in for repair because it is twice as fast compared to heating water in the microwave. I will post an update about my experience with customer service in the event I do decide to send it in for repair again!

I had high hopes for this kettle and it certainly delivered! It boils water very quickly. It isn't heavy like I expected (since it's glass) even when it's full. I don't plan to use the tea basket since it's plastic, but it is also very well done. My only complaint is the tiny bit of silicone in the bottom of the kettle, but considering i was using a completely plastic kettle before, this is a major improvement! Having multiple settings for different types of tea is very cool, but i can't say i use it as much as i expected to. It's still nice to have the option though. Love this kettle and highly recommend it!Friday, September 12, 2014
Zojirushi ADC-05 Electric Dispensing Pot Cleaner 1 Oz.(28 gr.) Review
Customer Ratings:
List Price: $3.99

This product is almost 100% Citric acid, however for the same price here on Amazon you can buy almost 10 times as much if you buy food grade (Citric acid is used for lots of things including cooking.)
Two tablespoons are about the right amount for each cleaning cycle.
Citric Acid 1 lb., (Frontier)
Citric Acid, priced per pound
Citric Acid 4 Lb tub
Citric Acid (Lemon Salt) 5 Pounds Bulk
Citric Acid 1 Lb tub
On the other hand, white vinegar dissolves all the lime, scale, etc. It's cheap, easy, just a little stinky and takes a little longer.
This is how we've been cleaning our Zojirushi electric pots for the past 20 years.
1) Heat up the vinegar to ~150f or so (in the dispensing pot or separately) then pour in. I use a 4 cup pyrex cup in the microwave.
1.5 (Optional)I add a large mason jar in the middle to displace the vinegar so I get a higher level with less vinegar (Think of how sitting in a bathtub causes the water to rise)
2) Leave overnight
3) Rinse out thoroughly. We save the vinegar for use over and over.
If you've found this review helpful, please let me know!
But this stuff is great!! It only takes about 20 minutes and all that nasty junk on the bottom of the water tank comes off. (I did have to rinse the inside of the device once to get the stuff that had come off the sides, but didn't dissolve enough to go out through the dispenser.)
Make sure you order enough for the size of your dispenser. 3 qts needs 3 packets.
Update 7/16/08 -I think the quantity of cleaner you need also depends on your water quality. For some people, one envelope will work. I tried one the first time I tried to clean the machine. It worked some, but wasn't enough to finish the job. I need three -we have extremely hard water. $6 every 6 months is worth the time I'd spend chiselling the interior out.

I would recommend it to everyone who uses the hot water dispenser. It's very easy to use. Even if you don't see any scald build up, give it a try and you will not believe what is there. You will need one package per one liter size of pot. I only has the stubborn scald at the bottom of the pot so I figure I can put one liter of water just to cover the problem area and only use one package of powder. After the cleansing process is done, the bottom of the pot is cleaned just like the first day I got them. I then spot the ring where the water level was and realized how dirty the rest of the pot actually is. Invisible scald, I would call them. Anyway, I ended up using the rest of cleansing powder for the second cleansing batch. I'm using the pot to boil water for the baby formular. It's important that it's kept clean. This product delivers the result I hope for.Honest reviews on Zojirushi ADC-05 Electric Dispensing Pot Cleaner 1 Oz.(28 gr.)
This product is almost entirely Citric acid, however for the same price here on Amazon you can buy almost 10 times as much if you buy food grade (Citric acid is used for lots of things including cooking.)Two tablespoons are about the right amount for each cleaning cycle.
We save the vinegar for use over and over.

worked on my zojirushi hot water dispenser like a charm. After about one year of use, my zojirushi electric water dispenser was covered by hard calcified deposits. I tried to scrub it off, but it was so calcified nothing would come off. Then I got these, and I couldn't be happier with how easy and effective this product is, all it took was 15 minutes, and it disolved the deposits without harming my electric pot.Sunday, August 3, 2014
Discount Dimplex Cornet TV Stand with Electric Fireplace in Black

List Price: $899.00
Sale Price: $699.00

While a lot of my euro friends made claims that only Americans get faux fireplaces, everyone seems to like it now that they get to sit in front of it and stare at the lights. It really does have the same relaxing effect of a fire. The lights can go on whether one turns on the heat function or not. The heat function works fantastic as suggested. Heats up a 400 sq foot space with no problem. I have a flat panel TV on top and there is no problem having the heater on with the TV there.
The console is very sturdy. There is plenty of room for cable box, books, and other media related items. You get the typical backing which includes holes for cable cords on both top and bottom. It is very easy to put together. The lights in the fireplace have the same relaxing effect of a fire.
It's a little pricey, given that it is literally a heating unit in a media shelf. However, I think if you tried to recreate this look separately it would never work. Moreover, I like that it's space saving. I have a fire place and a TV unit all together. That's particularly key for your typical NYC apartment.
All in all very happy!!

We are very pleased with our purchase of the Dimplex console/electric fireplace. Delivery was very prompt. As far as difficulty putting the unit together, my husband feels it was "medium". My order arrived yesterday. I took one out, of the box, and held it up in the sunlight. It is easy to see that this is well made, and made of quality materials. I have purchased many HVAC filters before (good and bad). I have no doubt that these are as good as any I have used. P.S. says 20x24, actual size is more like 19x22.5 I'm not sure as the air handler turns on/off that it doesn't cause the filter to shift around. It works, but it would be nice if the size was accurately represented.Saturday, April 26, 2014
Cheap Zojirushi NP-GBC05 3-Cup (Uncooked) Rice Cooker and Warmer

I've had this rice maker for about 7 months. I vacillated for over a year before making my purchase--not only was the price scaring me off, but this model had been on the market for a while and I wanted to see if anything new and even better came out. However, when I read the mediocre reviews of the newest Zojirushi models--and prices nearing $450!--I thought it was about time I bit the bullet and shelled out for this rice cooker.
This was possibly THE best purchase I've made in the past five years. I ended up getting it for about $30 less via the auction site that everyone's familiar with, but Amazon's price is pretty darn competitive. I opted for the 3-cup model because I'm by myself most of the year and wanted something that could handle smaller batches (as little as 1/2 cup in this case!) for when I'm just cooking for myself, but had the flexibility to handle larger quantities. This size is perfect for a 1-4 person household (3 cups of cooked rice is closer to 6 servings). Ease of use is amazing. I've made short-grain Japanese rice, short-grain brown rice, rice and azuki beans, and mixed-grain rice (a blend of brown and wild rices, in various combinations over the months I've had it). I use it pretty much every night for rice, and almost every morning for my favorite use of this machine: the most perfect steel-cut oatmeal you could possibly ask for. I did get a rice-cooker cookbook to help me fine-tune my ratios, but I find that the best oatmeal is if you use 1.5:1 water/oatmeal ratio, then stir in 1/2 c. whole milk once it's done cooking and let it "warm" for another 5 min. I have had rave reviews about my oatmeal and it's so. darn. easy.
Like another reviewer mentioned, if you add in flavors (in my case, cinnamon/vanilla for the oatmeal, I haven't played around much with savory fare save for plain rice) there's a bit of a ghost of that flavor the next time you make plain rice. I think it might be because of the silicone seal to the steamer lid. I don't mind it much, and I suppose if you're VERY sensitive to any sort of flavor (it only lasts the one batch) you could run a small (1/2 c.) batch first to "steam" out the flavors--this seems wasteful to me, but it's an idea to try if this is an issue for you.
The rice itself comes out absolutely perfect. You'll be amazed at how much flavor this little machine draws out of white rice and brown rice. I was never a huge fan of brown rice (too mealy/chewy) but when I make it in this bad boy, it's so, so good. You'll be a convert!
My favorite part of this machine is the cleanup. If an appliance is too fiddly to clean, I know it'll end up gathering dust--but this machine couldn't be easier. There's a detachable inner lid that catches the splash from the cooking rice that I wash right away, and I remove the steam cover in the back (this sounds arcane, but it's snapping two things off and takes about 3 seconds; the manual is great for explaining it). Then I let the actual nonstick bowl dry out. You heard me--I let it dry on there. Then, it's as easy as wiping out the rice "paper" film you've made with a paper towel. Seriously. Even with oatmeal that would normally cake on there: don't soak, don't scrub, just wait for it to dry. The couple times it's stuck, I just fill it with warm water in the sink for 15min and it washes right off. The nonstick on this bowl is absolutely fantastic. I'm very careful never to bring anything metallic in contact with it, but I hear through the grapevine that Zojirushi is excellent about shipping out replacement parts if you ever need them.
The Zojirushi NP-GBC05 has simplified my life greatly!!! If you desire/want to make brown/wild rice and steel-cut oats on a regular basis, this thing will save you DAYS of cooking in just a years time. Once you start eating steel-cut oats, you will never go back to the soupy, mush that is rolled oats. Why don't people eat more steel-cut oats? Well they take almost 3 times or longer to cook. Enter.... Zojirushi Magic!!!!
For breakfast... the night before... I load it up with steel cut oats and water(3:1) and have hot, perfectly cooked oats at 8 am the next day. Toss in some dried/fresh fruit and some almonds and honey ... and...BAM! A breakfast for elitist champions!
After wiping down the non-stick container, I fill it up with white/brown/wild rice before leaving for work. Again, always ready(and again perfectly cooked) 7pm for dinner.
I'm not sure how many hours I wasted before this magnificent piece of machinery. And now.. I'm not sure I could ever go without.
Balk at the price if you want, but after INCREDIBLE 50-cent breakfasts (oats and fruit) this thing pays for itself in no time. Not to mention the HOURS regained by not babysitting a pot of rice/oats. YOU CANT EVEN GET A ILLEGAL HOUSEKEEP FOR A WEEK at this price!!
just figure out the rice water ratios, according to the rice you select:short/med grain, polished/unpolished, newcrop/oldcrop has different ratios nuiances.
This machine is beautiful and when ur done cooking there is NEVER any residue or nasty clean up. I always had that issue with my sanyo and LG rice cookers~ :(
I thought that was the norm, and i had to live with it. I DONT!
I am very particular about my rice, so i even got into a habit of stove top cooking it. but its work intensive :D and if u mess up, u mess up the whole batch ;p.
This IH system of cooking rice is incredible. INCREDIBLE! Every grain of rice on the sides or even at the bottom is evenly cooked with whatever is in the middle.
Even though there is 100 $ difference between the non IH model... its worth it if u eat rice everyday,
and im japanese so i DO!. I taste the difference in every bowl of rice, and i've had MANY!
I make quinoa, millet, and GABA brown rice in it. The beauty is that I can put the ingredients into it in the morning, then have the grains ready for meal prepp later in the day. I also take the time for GABA brown rice to reset the timer in order to allow more time for activation. That is the only thing on my wish list: a timer setting to increase the GABA activation time. Other than that, it is a setup and walk away type of appliance. I don't have to supervise the cooking process.

I recently purchased this product from an Amazon merchant and love it! Since I've started incorporating more whole grains into my diet, and being a rice-lover, this item appealed to me from all I'd read, and the GABA rice setting is what really sold me. I've successfully used it to cook Lundberg short grain brown rice on the GABA setting, hulled barley on the GABA setting, organic millet, and whole oats on the GABA setting. There aren't instructions that specifically direct you as to how to cook these particular grains using this product, and the barley I cooked needs to have the amount of water I used the first time tweaked for perfection, but I'm really excited about having the use of this rice cooker for other whole grains. I intend to try whole buckwheat next. One thing that is very nice about using this gadget is that there is no wasting of water lost to steam from over-boiling in order to thoroughly cook these grains. I highly recommend this product for people, like me, who dedicate a large portion of their dietary needs to whole grain consumption... just experiment with the amount of water until you get it just the way you like it, and remember that less water than you'd ordinarily use will probably work with this machine. You just add the grains and water, set it appropriately, and let it do its thing! It shuts itself off automatically at the end of its cooking cycle, and keeps the grains warm, moist and unburnt, until you're ready to eat them.Best Deals for Zojirushi NP-GBC05 3-Cup (Uncooked) Rice Cooker and Warmer

I've had this product since it came out and I bought it on Amazon. I love it! Using fresh whole grains bought in bulk, I use this item as the mainstay of my meal preparation. The price is high, but it is comparable to having a good convection oven, which I don't use. The Zojirushi, Soyabella soymilk maker, propane stove, Bravetti, and a deydrator is all I use for meal prep. We pulled the oven out of the wall and use it to store whole foods.I make quinoa, millet, and GABA brown rice in it. Recently purchased this heater after borrowing it from a family member. My husband likes this one even better due to ability of adjusting the amount of heat. Plus he likes the safety features and that it's not so flimsy like some we saw in stores. Overall, very pleased with this purchase.Best Deals for Century 28,000 BTU Double Head Heater
Overall very happy with the product. However, upon opening the box I found that the product was damanged either in packing from manufacturer or shipping. The lines that feed the burners were kinked/bent. These are rubber supply lines so should work but could restrict gas supply. In addition, I found that both protective grates on front were so badly bent they would not attach or stay on the burners. Lastly, I found I had to straighten one of the burners on the T-Mount as it was tweaked a bit. Again Century makes great products, just wished it arrived in better condition.Honest reviews on Century 28,000 BTU Double Head Heater
There is no way that can install the heads the way they show at least not with the emergency valve pointing up as instructed. Otherwise it works OK. I thought I'd get double the heat out of the double head but that's not so. I ordered the 2ton Amvent unit to cool my garage/shop, which is roughly 1ksqft. I am very happy with the performance. It's nice and quiet, and seems to have plenty of cooling power. Installation was a breeze, even on my own. It could be tough if you don't have good access to the location you're mounting it to, or if you plan to mount it really high up on the wall. I did have to drill through stucco on the exterior wall, which was the hardest part for me. I was able to setup a vacuum pump on the supply lines, though I'm not sure I used 100% proper process for that whole purge step. I wish they had detailed out the process a bit more for the DIYer. I was a bit surprised at the sheer size of the external unit, so be sure to double check those specs if you have any fancy mounting in mind. This type of AC setup is very nice, and I'm happy I found this before ordering a portable unit that I don't believe could have any chance of comparing. There is not much you can do wrong, except leaving a leak in the supply lines, so don't be afraid to take this on!
One side note you will need an air conditioning tech to come and install the hoses if you plan on doing it right and vacuuming out the moisture in the lines.
Our tech added valves on the end to allow us to be able to service them in the future and that addition was well worth the cash spent.
If you are looking for a great unit at an inexpensive price these guys will perform all day long and never leave you with an issue.
My fiance installed it in just over half a day. The installation itself really only took about 2 hours, he was running around to various stores trying to find parts for the rest of the time. The only component of the installation that he really complalined about was bending the copper pipe since the way he put it in needed a 90 deg turn and the size of the pipe was not standard to most of the pipe-bending tools he found in local stores. I think he eventually just got ticked off, wrapped the thing around his arm, and somehow managed to bend it without a kink. Everything else in the installation seemed to go pretty smoothly. He's a contracter/builder though, so not sure it would be that easy for everybody to install.
I couldn't be happier with the results, for just over $1000 I've got something that works nearly as well as central air and didn't even have to hire an HVAC guy to install it since the freon was already primed. It's quiet enough noticible but not intrusive. Easily the best purchase I've made all year!! Beats the heck out of my old window/wall units.

I love it, After 2 summers in this house with central air in only the bedrooms, no ductwork in half the house (baseboard hot water heat for half the house) and no windows that I could put any window unit in (all swing out windows). I was resigned to the fact that I was going to have to put a sleeve unit in. Extra expense of cutting and framing not to mention weatherizing. I wasn't keen on the idea of listening to the hum of a compressor in my dining room all summer. This unit cools my kitchen, dining room, living room and foyer without breaking a sweat (approximatley 1200 sqft). It was easy to install but you will either need to know how to do electrical work or hire an electrician. A 3" hole to run the lines was a lot nicer than a 2' x 3' hole in the wall. There's a little noise from the fan but not the kind I can't live with. It would have cost several thousand dollars to install a central air unit and I installed this in one day for a fraction of the cost. I never heard of Amvent before but I'm impressed with how this works and the amount of money I saved compared to buying a brand name unit!Best Deals for Amvent 24000 BTU 2 Ton Ductless Wall Mount Mini Split Room Air

The 24,000 btu unit keeps my 700 sq foot dining/living/kitchen area nice and cool on a 90 degree day! May or may not do a larger area? I expected it to be ovepowered for my space but it's really just about right. I've got cathedral ceilings and a generally hot house though, I'm sure makes a difference. My fiance installed it in just over half a day. After buying this almost over a year ago..I finally got to having it installing into my country home. What a difference. Cools as expected maybe even better. Installer had it done in 2 hours including wiring it into my auto transfer switch so that it will run on my auto standby generator. Interior fan noise could be improved however it moves a lot of air so its a fair trade off.Saturday, February 1, 2014
Review of Rinnai EX11 Direct Vent Furnace Natural Gas
Found out about Rinnai from my brother in law, a home restoration expert fromVermont. My experience in the past has been if he recommends. I look no further.
Once again that proved true.
This heater is a marvel of engineering. Every single aspect of it was well thought out.
Super easy to install. Cut a 3 1/8" hole through the exterior wall, assemble the flue ( a remarkable piece of engineering), plumb and hook jp the gas and turn it on. That's it!
The design is such that even touching the metal after it's been operating for hours does not result in a burn

This is the second Rinnai that I have bought. We purchased this from an authorized installer. As the other review stated, the thermostat on this does not work. Further, the unit does not shut off and on properly. Moreover, it is very noisy when it comes on and off, and there is a pinging noise quite often. We have asked the installer to come back a few times who apparently has 'fixed' the item but this did not occur. We are now in winter again and we have had this just a little over a year and we are experiencing the same problems. The problem is, we are now outside the 'year' warranty and it has only been used a few short times. What a waste of $1600 with installation and purchasing the product. Rinnai is a shame and a rip off. Think long and hard before buying their products.Best Deals for Rinnai EX11 Direct Vent Furnace Natural Gas
In order to replace a couple of outdated direct vent propane heaters, my husband bought a Rinnai ES22 for our living room and an ES11 for our bedroom. Both units have a loud fan/blower which goes on and off during use. I don't like it, but I can adjust to the noise in the living room. In the bedroom, I find the noise level unacceptable for relaxing and sleeping (and I am not a light sleeper). Making matters worse my ES11 has a pinging sound which accompanies the blower going on and off. My husband bought the units through an authorized dealer and installer in the Los Angeles area who he found on the official Rinnai website. After purchase and the units had been installed, I looked at the invoice. This individual charged us approximately 40% more for the units than they were being offered for on unauthorized Rinnai websites. This individual also charged us for "misc. parts and sealants" although there were no such items furnished (the units come with everything you need). I should also add that the authorized dealer failed to tell us when he first came to review our heating needs and give us an estimate that our existing vent holes would not match the Rinnai units. Had we known this we could have considered our options and possibly budgeted to have new vent holes cut. (I just got a $400 estimate to have one vent hole lowered seven inches.) Instead when the authorized dealer was installing the units he just took some cement pavers from our yard and jacked the units up to the height of the existing holes and left the pavers in place under the units. This looks especially lovely on the bedroom carpeting. I should also add that I had to leave before he was finished with the installation. When we came home that evening our bedroom was easily approaching 100 degrees and the unit was going full throttle. The authorized dealer had only tested to make certain the unit went on before leaving. Apparently he didn't test to make sure it would also go off. Long story short, the unit had a broken thermostat and the entire unit had to be replaced. So if you do buy one of these units, plan to be home for several hours after installation to test the unit.Saturday, January 25, 2014

After the date had expired for the Dimplex stove to be delivered, (remember, I didn't set the delivery deadline!)I contacted the seller who gave the excuse that all the Dimplex stoves were delayed in being shipped. However, once the problem had been addressed, I was offered a 10% discount which was to be credited to my card (it was not explained initially that it would be either a discount on the price of the unit itself or a credit to my account). I have not as of this date been credited (perhaps next billing cycle) but did receive the Dimplex stove in perfect condition within days of my inquiry. I was interested in a unit which did not exceed 1500 watts on the high setting as I was concerned any higher wattage would need a dedicated line; remember though, that most hair dryers are 1600 or more watts but we don't operate them all the time. I really didn't want the flame effect, just the heater which was a little larger than the small ones sold in major stores such as Wal-Mart, Lowe's, etc., but to my surprise, the flame gives just enough light so that I am able to turn off the lamp I previously kept on in the room where I have the stove. The blower is very quiet and actually gives a soothing noise which is conducive to sleep. I usually keep it on low but if it were really cold, the high setting would heat a small room or two if they were closed off. It is just enough heat to take the chill off cool evenings. I would venture to say that the heater would be a romantic addition to a bedroom as it is absolutely charming with its glowing flame effect and gentle heat. The stove is only guaranteed for a year, but then so too was a very expensive oven which I purchased for my kitchen and INDEED it was dead in about a year.... so don't expect TOO much from this charming stove for the money. I only wish Dimplex sold these in stores such as Sam's Club, Wal-Mart, Lowe's, etc., as it puts to shame the heaters/stoves they sell for less money, but who wants their utilitarian heaters/stoves junking up their home? To date, I am very happy with the Dimplex Free Standing Cube stove. As my husband states, "tell them in the review that the stove is lovely." (I can't believe HE said that but he really did!)

We moved into a new place and missed having a fireplace in our bedroom. Our new bedroom is very small, but the compact size fit perfectly. It has a cute, modern look and does put out nice head.Best Deals for Dimplex Cube Electric Stove, DCS19W, Chrome
I researched a lot for a nice little fireplace heater. I LOVE LOVE THIS. DO not regret it one bit. it is MORE than I thought it was quality wise especially. My daughter wants one now for her room and as soon as I get the money I shall order another one. The above reviews made me feel comfortable buying this. It Came very quick and no damage. It is VERY quiet, don't even know it's running. The fire effect is way better than I imaged. VERY HAPPY WITH THIS FIREPLACE!Cindy

I moved into a town home and really wanted a fireplace: Began doing research and found this solution! It is retro cool! It is the perfect amount of cheeze in a box. I love it, my daughter loves it, my cat loves it! One of the features that we enjoy is that you can have the fire effect on with no heat. So even when it is warm and rainy, you can have the effect of a fire and its soothing nature. I read some reviews that people were sad that it doesn't crackle like a fire, but it isn't fire it is a cool electric heater! Oh, and another selling point, is that because it is on a chrome pedestal it can be set on carpet (I confirmed this with Dimplex)...and it is portable. I don't know how well it heats a space yet, because it is summertime, but I suspect it will live up to its claims.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Dimplex Cube Electric Stove, DCS19W, Chrome
This thing is adorable, works like a powerhouse, and has been doing so steadily for over a year. It looks like a real fireplace, and makes the apartment feel much homier. The heat settings are surprisingly strong—I don't think I've ever had to use the highest setting, even mid-winter in New York—and my bedroom doesn't have heat but does have two giant, drafty windows.
