This is the second one I have bought. First one lasted 5 yrs plugged in 24/7. Husband took it apart and found burnt broken element inside. Should have had it on a timer to dry a few hrs a day; will do that with new one. It is cheaper now by $150 so not so hard to replace it . Also needed to match up mounting bracket hardware on the wall. Getting same one solved that. Also getting an 8 bar for our mtn cabin SPOILED!!!

This towel rack is very pretty.

It's smooth, so it does not snag delicates.

It does not get as warm as I would like it to. The towel is not really warm, and is only warn in places, not all over.

It does not seem to dry delicates any faster than the air, but at least it is a smooth place to hang them.

The main drawback is that I bought this specifically because it was plug in, and so I thought would not require any wiring.

However, my contractor told me that because of the voltage/wattage he had to change the wiring in my wall to accommodate it.

If you order it, check with your electrical person first to make sure you will not have to pay extra money to have your outlet rewired.

Had another towel warmer previously which was mediocre at best. I had hoped the Myson Diamond 12 bar would be good but it has exceeded my expectations. My bath sheets are toasty through and through and the Diamond 12 bar has enough room for hand towels and wash cloths as well. Very well designed.

Honest reviews on Diamond 12 Bar Towel Warmer

I had a smaller portable towel bar that worked well, but only held one towel. On this one we can hang two bath towels, two hand towels and two washcloths.

Item was not what I was expecting. The stain color is off from the picture and it even may be that the "wood grain" is actually a sticker, not even veneer. Screws do not hold up well in shipment, tearing insert from mantel. I would recommend seeing this item in person before purchase and picking up item in store as opposed to shipping.

We installed this stove in our log cabin as a secondary heat source. It has performed great. The thermostat control really make this stove a great deal. It will keep the cabin at an even temperature with no work from us. This is a quality stove and it looks like it was built for the cabin!

Best Deals for Kozy World GFD2520 Windsor Gas Fireplace, Dual Fuel

I bought this model for the front room area (living room/dining room/kitchen) and a direct vent for my bedroom at the opposite end of the home a few years ago to serve as back up heaters in the event of a power outage. I don't regret the decision one bit. This unit, Kozy World Windsor, came with a different exterior but the inside (black part in this picture) is the same. Mine came from the hardware store across the street so I can't address shipping concerns from other retailers here. My initial concerns were: 1) ventless fireplaces directly exhaust into the air in the home and 2) these units might burn up all the oxygen in the home further decreasing air quality. These have O2 sensors that prevent this and I've never noticed any air quality issues. I also learned that the primary byproduct of burning propane is water vapor which makes these a humidifier of sorts. This a good thing during the winter in my opinion. Overall, the product quality has been excellent and I would consider another if the need arose!

After further thought, I think it best to say how I use this fireplace (which doesn't change my 5 star rating). Despite it's excellent performance, I do not trust any vent-less fireplace enough to use the thermostat feature like I do with the direct vent I installed in my bedroom. Although I have friends who do trust them, I prefer to manually turn it on (with the remote or the control panel on the unit). That being said, with 25,000 BTU, it heats the common areas of my house fast enough that I'm comfortable doing so manually. The unit has a blower (an electric fan) which kicks on (in the auto setting when the electric is on) shortly after the unit is warmed up (after a few minutes) that pushes hot air out quickly. With the blower running, and the house not freezing (50F+), the fireplace produces enough heat to run you out of the house quickly. In the event of a power outage, it takes about an hour w/o the blower (which requires electricity), using natural convection in my home (semi open architecture, 8" ceilings, one story 3 bedroom, 3 bath house) to get the common areas above 75F (which feels pretty warm to me during the winter).

Living in the northern US, the long heating season invariably leaves my back dry and itchy. A similarly-afflicted friend and I were joking around, speculating on how one might design an item to apply moisturizing lotion to hard-to-reach areas, and spotted this item online.

I'll admit, I was skeptical about products like this. Are they effective? Wouldn't they be messy? Some offer replaceable applicator pads, but who wants to keep buying refills? Roll A Lotion has all of these concerns covered.

Unscrew the floating-ball head and load in your favorite lotion, cream, gel. Apply.

I've used mine for a couple of weeks, and it works perfectly. Nineteen rolling balls apply a nice even layer of lotion, no mess, no fuss. Thicker lotions work wonderfully; I use Curel. Keep in the shower for quick moisturizing after toweling off. To clean, remove the applicator head and rinse under the faucet.

Your back (or any other hard-to-reach part of your choosing) will thank you.

It really does work, but I've had 2 of them and the handle plastic keeps breaking. It gets stressed when the application ball piece is screwed on and then breaks.

I'll be looking for some other kind of applicator.

Best Deals for Roll-A-Lotion Applicator

I bought this applicator in the hopes that my Mother, who lives alone would find some relief from dry skin on her back. Well, she is thrilled. The applicator is easy to use and applies just the right amount of lotion to feel comfortable, and not "Slathered with grease". I am also pleased with the delivery time and responsiveness of the company who sells the applicators-Wellhaven Gifts for Seniors. While I cannot comment on the durablility of the handle, as stated in an earlier review, I am hopeful that if there is a problem, it will be well handled by Wellhaven.

Honest reviews on Roll-A-Lotion Applicator

I used one of these on and off for about 6 months. It is very poorly constructed. And it does not work well anyway. The lotion is not applied well. The balls do not roll very well. some of the lotion dries up and then the balls get stuck. I got frustrated with it and left it, but then decided to try it again. I was still very disappointed. Then a piece of the side wall just broke off. I decided then I've had enough of the crap and threw it away. I would not recommend this product it all. I wouldn't even want it for free.

Over half of the roller balls were 'frozen' solid and would not turn ...I used abrasive cloth and got a few to rotate ... but many just won't roll.

The product design, production and quality control are all so low as to make the product impossible to use.

i have chickens and so i get my own eggs from them each day. i wanted something that could poach eggs for my husband and i easily. also when i boil eggs i wanted something to boil alot at a time. i saw this on amazon and thought i would give it a try. oh my gosh i cant say enough nice things about it. i have only had it a short time and havent made an omelet yet but if it makes one like it does the poached and boiled then it will be great. by the time my toast is done in the toaster the poached eggs are done to perfection. and it turns off itself after the bell rings. love it!!

I bought this at bed bath and beyond on the advice of my sister. I was really skeptical at first and my first batch of eggs turned out terrible. What a mess, cracked eggs, eggs boiled out etc. called my sis and asked her about where you pierce the eggs as the instructions say poke it on the top. Well, the top to my simple mind is the skinny part! Not so said my sis. The top of the egg is the fat part of the egg!!!!! So i tried another batch, poked them on the top (bottom in my mind) of the egg, put the eggs in with the hole facing down instead of up... And voila!! Perfect eggs in about 9 minutes. And i mean perfect, done to perfection! These eggs are cooked via steam vs. boiling and steamed eggs peel SO MUCH EASIER!! I can peel almost the whole shell off in one piece. Usually my eggs look like they have been through an MMA fight after peeling them. Yes the lid gets hot as its trapping steam (duh) so keep the kiddies away while its cooking. To address the negative reviews about the hot lid, it has handles so all the nitwits out there can lift the lid without getting burned. And oh yeah, open the lid AWAY from you. Dont plant your face over it when u open it. Lesson learned! And the pictures of it are decieving, this thing is small! About the size of a softball. It takes up very little counter space. Nice! Summary: this gadget is awesome! Perfect eggs easy cleanup. Cant wait to do deviled eggs for easter dinner. This is a paleo/primal eaters dream!

For people who love eggs everyday but have limited time. This is a fun and practical gadget. Easy to use, easy to clean. Follow the very simple instructions...SERIOUSLY! If it says use cold water, use it! If it says to position the egg a certain way, do it! Then the eggs will be perfect every time!! The only rule I am lax on is the distilled water. I have water stains in the unit, but I don't care. Stay near the unit. When the alarm sounds you need to turn it off and open it...otherwise your eggs just keep cooking simply from the trapped steam. The paper towel cleanup of the unit is what really does it for me. 4 perfect poached eggs in 9 min and wipe clean...so efficient.

Honest reviews on Cuisinart CEC-10 Egg Central Egg Cooker

This was a gift for my brother-in-law who loves hard-boiled eggs for breakfast, and normally does not cook anything for himself. He read the short manual and now makes a batch of eggs every week. You can cook up to 10 eggs at a time. They come out perfect every time. A buzzer sounds to let you know the eggs are done, I wish it would just shut off instead. He has a tendancy to set it up and then head to the bathroom to shave and get ready for work. Sometimes the buzzer is going off for a while. We will probably never use the omelet tray, because it seems to make a rather small omelet. Use distilled water as the directions say, or you will begin to get a scale deposit in the bottom.

Best Keurig Cafe One-Touch Milk Frother Deals

Keurig Cafe One-Touch Milk Frother
Customer Ratings: 3 stars
Buy Now
I am the world's biggest Keurig milk frother fan, so why am I giving it only 3 stars? Because this expensive and addicting accessory only works reliably for about three months. It froths milk for those first few months like nobody's business, perfectly heating your milk with a snowy mountain of froth on the top and then it stops working. I know this through extensive personal experience, because I have (hangs head in shame) actually paid for three of these puppies that's how obsessed I am with them. I returned the first one after a surprisingly contentious phone conversation with a Keurig representative who all but accused me of breaking the item. "You can only use skim milk with it", she admonished me, even though the advertising blurbs for the item say nothing about that. I have dutifully complied with the rules for frothers #2 and #3, but yesterday, when the third one gave up the ghost, predictably, at the 3-month-mark, I decided that my dysfunctional relationship with the Keurig frother has to end. Time to start buying half-and-half again.

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

The first unit was purchased last Saturday, and Saturday afternoon, I made delicous and abundant froth for my coffee. The next morning, my husband made it, and it only half frothed. Monday, the unit did not work at all; replaced it. Monday afternoon, new unit must not have heated long enough. No work. Replaced it, thinking third time's a charm--Fool that I was. These units are definitely lemons--not charming. The third one shut off this afternoon after around 35 seconds. I think that is the problem, they are shutting off prematurely. What are the chances that my local Bed, Bath & Beyond got stuck with a shipment of lemons with electrical cords and cheap, plastic frothers?

Best Deals for Keurig Cafe One-Touch Milk Frother

Found this item cheaper at a local "Bed, Bath and Beyond" store ($79).

This product works as advertised. It has three parts:

1. The base (which plugs into the wall and provides the electricity)

2. The decanter which contains the electrics that heats the milk. There is a socket under the decanter the plugs into and sits loosely the base.

3. The removeable lid that has a stirrer attached to it.

3. The stirrer, which is a tiny wire whisk that you can remove when you only want to heat the milk.

Its very easy to operate... You put the correct amount of milk into the decanter(There are two fill lines, one for froth, and one for hot milk), place the decanter onto the base and press a button. The wire whisk spins around as the unit heats the milk and you get a nice single serving of froth. Remove the whisk and you can simply heat up the milk. The unit shuts itself off automatically when it is finished properly frothing or heating your milk. There's no guesswork at all.

Not only does this product prevent you from cooling off your coffee with cold milk, it makes your coffee look and taste better too. Funny how simply placing a layer of froth on the top of your coffee makes it look ten times more appealing. We tried it using Mocha, Donut Shop, and Butter Toffee flavors. It worked great in each one of those.

After you're done, it's very easy to clean up. Just rinse the decanter out with water (and dish-soap if you want) and rinse off the whisk and stirrer.

Is it worth $80? We think so because, like the Keurig, there's no guess work. Just pour in the milk and press a button.

Its great for getting creative with your coffee! For instance, we created a layered mocha: Pour the froth on the bottom of the cup, add Chocolate Syrup and then the coffee on top of that.

Honest reviews on Keurig Cafe One-Touch Milk Frother

I READ REVIEWS OF HAVING ONE OR MORE OF THESE SUDDENLY STOP WORKING IN A MONTH OR TWO. I SPENT THE $80 AND LOVED ITTHAT IS UNTIL IT SUDDENLY STOPPED WORKING AFTER 1 MONTH. I WAS THE ONLY PERSON USING AND FOLLOWED ALL DIRECTIONS, KEPT CLEAN, ETC. $80 FOR SUCH A SHORT TIME IS A WASTE. WORSE IS THAT MINE IS NOT AN ISOLATED INCIDENT. I HAVE READ SOOO MANY REVIEWS OF THIS SAME THING HAPPENING. SOMETHING IS DEFECTIVE WITH THIS PRODUCT. F.Y.I KEURIG'S CUSTOMER SERVICE IS TERRIBLE. THEY DON'T STAND BY THEIR OWN PRODUCTSHAME.

1.

Product is not a complete system. This is for the outdoor condenser, indoor air exchanger, condensate drip line, mounting hardware, remote, and NO copper line set for refrigerant. This is very disappointing because manual shows parts INCLUDING line set.

Everything else is included but the line set. Without it, there is no refrigerant circulated to the outside unit and therefore, no cool air. If you purchased a Computer with a hard drive, keyboard, mouse, and monitor and it was missing the memory, you would probably feel the disappointment that I feel.

2.

The system was promptly shipped in two well packed boxes and arrived with amazon prime speed safely to my front door.

3.

The seller promptly contacted my email and explained why he didn't include the line set, but at one time did. He sells the complete package on ebay, so my request was for him to send me the line set.

No good. After a quick exchange over the phone, he is unwilling to complete my order, unless I want to purchase a set for $150!

He did offer a refund upon return. At $40 shipping to me and another $40 return, it is cheaper for me to order the missing line set than return. I found 25' connection set for $65 with free shipping on ebay, so I will order and install the system.

More TBA.

This mini split system showed up in three different packages, and one of them included the tubing/wiring/connections, etc. That was an unexpected surprise, and makes the price we paid an even greater value.

We haven't hooked it up yet, as we are remodeling the room it will go in, but it looks exactly as we expected. I will review again once we hook it up.

This timer switch works fine except for one unexpected feature -once you have set it, there is no way to turn it off except by waiting for the timer to run down. I never imagined anyone would make a switch that could not be turned off at once when needed!

I guess there is a small chance I am mistaken, and simply haven't twisted it hard enough. But I did try to twist it off, pressing as hard as I thought I could without risking mechanical damage. There is no indication in the user instructions that it can be turned off.

I have learned to live with this limitation. But I don't see why anyone would want to buy such a switch.

I bought this unit to replace a Frigidaire 14,000-BTU air conditioner in my living room. This unit cools the room almost as well, though it's a little bit smaller than the Frigidaire and has a slightly lower BTU. One thing I don't like about the Friedrich is that the vents can only be directed up or down, not side to side. I also don't like the method of insulating the unit. I feel like it would be easier if you could attach the insulating foam strips to the air conditioning unit itself before sliding it into the wall sleeve, instead of attaching the foam strips to the inside of the wall sleeve, which makes the process more difficult and less precise. (Of course, the Frigidaire had the same method for adding the insulation strips so it seems to be an industry standard, which is unfortunate.) Anyway, I'm giving it four stars because it does what it's supposed to: cool the room. And I've only had the unit a couple of months so I can't speak yet to its durability -the Frigidaire unit I had before this only lasted a couple of years, and getting any service for it was virtually impossible. Not sure how Friedrich compares in that department -I hope I won't have to find out for a long time.

Clearwave Electronic Water Softener System Review

Clearwave Electronic Water Softener System
Customer Ratings: 3.5 stars
Buy Now
We've had one of these water softeners at our house for 10 years. We've recommended them to family and friends, and installed them in other peoples' houses, and everyone has been amazed that they not only work, but work SO WELL!

We bought one for our son for his brand-new house, which had very hard water, and iron pipes. When the water-softener salesman came around the neighborhood and tested everyone's water (planning on big sales), he couldn't figure out why the results were so bizarre at this house. He was finally clued in, and said maybe he should start selling Clear Wave softeners!

Things we noticed right away: a significant reduction in the amount of detergent we used for launday; showerheads didn't get clogged as fast; water-spotting on tiles was easier to clean off; skin was less irritated.

"Installing" this unit consists of wrapping wire around the pipe that comes into the house, and plugging it into an electrical outlet. Ours has been chugging along for 10 years with no issues. It doesn't make any noise, it doesn't need to be "fed" or fixed. It just quietly does what it was designed to do 24/7. No chemicals or salts have to be added to the water, and this unit costs about as much as a light bulb to operate.

I was delighted to find this on Amazon, because I want to buy another one for someone who just moved into a home with old pipes and hard water. I KNOW it will help!

I had earlier posted a review on this saying it doesnt seem to do anything. I am changing that review now, but for some reason amazon wont let me change the number of starts I rated this at ... I now give this 4 STARS

I had earlier posted the review that this doesnt seem to be doing anything, but I left it on. Interestingly while it took its time this thing does seem to be doing exactlt what it says it will do namely making the hardness in water "non-sticky". My shower heads look quite a bit cleaner, and yes we are noticing small while precipitate in the water, showing that the long deposited white 'scaling' on boiler and pipes is actually coming off.

This seems to also have had a very positive effect on the dish washer. I dont get the whole scaling on glass anymore.

So if you have tested your water and its hardness is in the range for this device (mine qualifies) I will now very strongly recommend this to you. Its a peach to install and setup, and provided you have the patience to wait for its effects which can take a few months to show up this is great.

Best Deals for Clearwave Electronic Water Softener System

The Background

If you want to know how this works technically, please read elsewhere, you can download the manual on the internet and there are plenty of resources about the technology. Same goes for Soft Water, read about it elsewhere for details. If you are interested in my experience with the Clearwave, read on!

So I had a Culligan water softener in my old house and although we paid way too much for it, I loved the soft water, no more hard water to deal with.

Then we moved and decided not to take the softener with us so I got a water boss from Lowes and installed it myself. Again a happy camper for 4 years, then the water pressure started dropping due to gunk coming through the system and blocking all the aerators in the taps and showers. A quick checked proved that it was the softener by bypassing the unit, and a call to water boss confirmed I would need to either replace the unit or have it repaired. This was just before Christmas and funds were low so we did without soft water for a while. Now I shave my head which is actually my benchmark. Hard water makes it very difficult, I nick my skin and it takes me a lot longer to do. Soft water by comparison makes it quick and easy. After a month of hard water showers I was getting itchy to replace the softener, but still had no money.

Then we went to visit my parents in Spain.... They live in a small village and last time I visited they had hard water. But imagine my surprise when I jumped in the shower and noticed right away that the water was soft. I mentioned it to my Dad and he immediately confirmed that a friend had recommended an electronic softener, it was relatively inexpensive and although skeptical he gave it a go. He has had it for quite some time and all the hard water deposits that had built up had gone away so he was happy. Now I have seen these before but must have drunk too much Culligan cool-Aid when I was sold my original unit, I mean how can something like this work? So I had ignored it, but here was evidence! Dad's unit was not a clearwave, but hey the US was bound to have something.

The Clearwave

On getting home to California I checked on the internet and there is a huge variety out there with big price differences. Then up popped the Clearwave that was similar in price to Dad's unit and seemed to have the same function, and given the price it seemed worth the risk. Ordering was easy as it always is at Amazon and it arrived promptly and I was excited to get it going.

Unfortunately the builder for our home piped the water in to the opposite side of the house from the boiler, so if I was going to mount it in the boiler room area out of the elements I would only get soft hot water. I had already done some custom plumbing to put my salt based softener outside the house where the mains entered and now this caused me a problem because ideally you need room on the pipes to mount the device and my pipe work was full of valves and bends I was doubly challenged because I had to protect it from the elements. To cut a long story short I ended up doing some re piping to remove the bypass valves for the old unit and add in some straigh piping. Also until I can build a wooden box to cover the pipes I went to Lowes and got myself a small plastic storage box which with a few cuts slipped over the pipe work easily enough and allowed me to mount the Clearwave inside it and close the lid. Interestingly enough I ended up wrapping the coils around a bend in the pipe and although I was worried this would affect the performance, it does not seem to.

End result, I can see the red led's pulsing inside my plastic box and sure enough it has become much easier to shave my head again. So all in all this does what it says it will, does not add salt to the wate, and at just over $100 it costs way less that a traditional softener right out of the gate. The Clearwave is easy to install, though it will depend on your house plumbing and may need some prep work, once I had everything in place it took me about 30 mins, and that was only because of the plastic box getting the the way. If it was inside my boiler room it would have taken no more than 10 mins. My plastic box solution has already stood up to heavy rains and while it is not exactly pretty it gets the job done. The unit itself appears well built, it feels a little but lightweight but then its just an electronic gizmo so that's to be expected.

This solution to me is a minor miracle, go buy one!

In Summary

1. Cheap to purchase

2. No maintenance required

3. Keeps your piping healthy from the inside

4. Melts away existing hard water deposits and keeps them gone

5. Reduces household costs because soft water uses less soap

6. Makes shaving in the shower very easy

One final note, my parents did in fact see an increase in water pressure once the existing hard water deposits went away, as verified by a slight increase in the water bill!

Honest reviews on Clearwave Electronic Water Softener System

Ok, first off...I am the biggest skeptic ever. I never purchase things unless there are enough reviews on the item for me to make an educated guess on if it's worth my time and money. The Clearwave has mixed reviews, but there was enough positive reviews that I thought was worth finding out for myself. Plus, it's really cheap for a water softener alternative that if it didn't work it wouldn't really hurt the bank. So I decided to give it a shot.

I have had it installed for only a month. What people need to understand is this is a water conditioner, NOT a water softener. Technically, it will not soften your water at all! So many of the negative reviews I read, they are exactly right. However, as a water conditioner this device does exactly what it says it does! I did not notice any change in anything until maybe around 2 weeks. An easy way to find out if it's working is to clean your chrome areas in your tub and shower. Remember, before the chrome would not shine and sparkle after showers or baths. After the water dried it would always look filmy and dingy looking. Since I've had the Clearwave installed, all chrome looks spit shined and amazing...I almost couldn't believe it. And, even when it starts to grime up again which isn't hardly at all...it's so easy to wipe off and have shine again. Before, I'd literally have to scrape at it and use CLR to get it to look remotely close to a chrome shine. I've also noticed an improvement in the toilets. Before, it would only take a week maybe 2 to begin to see the hard water stain forming around the water's edge in the toilet...so far, there is no ring at all since I've had the Clearwave...I think that is amazing. I'm also seeing improvement in the dishwasher. The dishes have less hard water stains if any. It's pretty crazy when you actually start to notice this.

People need to realize this device isn't suppose to make hard water soft. It's purpose is to stop scaling of calcium and lime. That is why you see shinier chrome and clearer dishes because there is no more scale buildup. The same with the toilets. This is all I was wanting when I bought this thing...I knew it wasn't technically going to soften the water, I'm not an idiot. I don't even notice it in my hair like some people claim. I seem to have to use the same amount of soap and shampoo as always, so I know it's not doing everything that a water softener should be doing. But, that's ok! My goal was to lessen the scale buildup in the toilets, shower, and dishwasher. And, if I am seeing improvement in those areas I also know the washer and the water heater are in better hands as well!

I believe some of the negative reviews are because of unrealistic expectations or poor installation. You have to install this correctly or it's crap. The wires need to be coiled tight and snug, and with a minimum of 7 coils. I coiled each end to its max. I went and bought extra plastic ties to insure each end of the coils were super tight. The coils need to be as tight as possible around the actual pipe and against one another. And, the final but likely most important thing is the two wires need to be wrapped in OPPOSITE directions! Take one and begin wrapping over the pipe, while you start the other wire and begin under the pipe. If the wires are not coiled in opposite directions the device will not work well if at all. Make sure you install this on the main cold water pipe BEFORE the water heater. The manual says to try and install it before any of the cold water branches out to other pipes, so that you treat all water and not just the hot water. Due to my setup I only had enough long pipe after all the branches and just before my hot water heater. So I assumed it would only treat the hot water, which i was ok with since I was mainly concerned about my showers and dishwasher. But, I told you about the improvement in my toilets...and as far as I know toilets don't use hot water! LOL

This is an honest review after only 1 month of use. They say it only gets better the longer it's installed. If it wasn't to do anything else, that would be fine by me. For $130 to have cleaner dishes, cleaner showers, and cleaner toilets...I'll take it.

Remember, this is not a water softener! If you are expecting results to be exactly like a salt based water softener than sure, you will give this negative reviews. But, if you know it's a water conditioner only...and, you take the time to install it properly...you will be pleased with the results you get for $130. Be patient...it took me 2 weeks to see anything. I had my doubts, and I thought it was garbage at first...stick with it, and you will see.

On a side note...supposedly if your water is high in iron, this device will not work at all. Basically the iron counteracts with the electronic signals and makes the device useless. So if you did everything right, and you see nothing at all...maybe have your water tested for iron.

I was enticed by the decent reviews of this product. After a few weeks of my own research, I decided to buy one myself and keep my fingers crossed that it would work. My main concern regarding the water in my house is the calcium buildup, which this product claims to treat/prevent. The product manual also claims that if you are unsatisfied with this product for any reason that you can return it to the place of purchase within 90 days. I will address this problem later...

A little background. This water conditioner claims that it will not only prevent buildup, but actually reverse the effects of existing calcuim buildup. This product was installed in a brand new house with a brand new electric water heater. I had my water tested and the grains of calcium were 23 (this product claims to work by itself up to 25). I gave the product 2 months before I attempted to return it. Over those two months, I determined the product to be a scam. Calcium built up on my shower heads, clogging them, around the sink drains, in my new dishwasher, and in my toilets. My old house is located in the same water district as my new house, so I went into this knowing the effects the untreated water has on fixtures. With this knowledge, I though the Clearwave water conditioner would, at the very least, slow down the buildup of calcium...but it didn't.

So, still well within my 90 return window guaranteed by the manufacturer, I contacted amazon and requested a return. They stated I needed to contact the company that fulfilled my order (Smarthome.com) and request a refund through them. I contacted Smarthome.com and they stated the order was actually fulfilled through Amazon. So back to Amazon I went. Amazon then stated their return policy was 30 days and they would only offer me 50% of my money back for this product. Arguing with them got me nowhere, so now I am stuck with this worthless piece of junk.

Great looking unit and extremely quiet. Perfect for those chilly times when you just need to get warm quickly. The remote control is easy to operate and has simple temperature control settings.

I did considerable research on several competitive models before buying and found Comfort Furnace to be the highest rated for the money. Make sure you read the customer satisfaction reviews, which are so important in your choices. So glad I made this decision.

The infrared heat warms you instantly, rather than merely warming the air. The UV air cleaner smells clean, and nice to have the option of shutting that feature off. The thing is handsome and small enough to tuck into the bottom of our bookcase cabinets when not in use. Because we do not have to heat all the air in our rental house in order to stay comfortable, we anticpate savings on the electric bill

A huge disappointment. I wanted to heat a fairly small room (about 200 sq ft) and hoped that this product would do the trick without the help of standard baseboard heat. On a cold day, in the 20's for example, the unit raises the room temp by 1 or 2 degrees after an hour at the maximum setting. There is no way this unit could heat an area of 1000 sq ft.

Save yourself about 300 dollars and get a standard space heater like a Lasko. It will do just as good of a job as a "Comfort Furnace".

These are replacements for two identical units, purchased two years ago. One of those units went bad and was immediately replaced by the manufacturer. Those two units were destroyed by flooding. The two new ones are giving the extra heat that the great room and main bath need to help keep propane prices down.

We fired it off last night for the first time. It runs great and the fan isn't all that loud. The only problem I have with it is that it short cycles a lot when it reaches the temperature its set for. When it does reach the set point, it cycles on for about 10 seconds, off for a few minutes, then back on again, on and on. Very annoying.

If I decide to buy another small heater, I think I would chose a different one for sure.

For Canadians, it would be nice to support the Canadian economy and actually find a product that's made within the country. I found this Seabreeze product which is a little bit pricey for what it is.

The one I purchased is the SF8T model. The product is a hit and miss:

HIT...

1. Very slim and compact. I can put it on a coffee table top and isolate the heat towards me without having to turn on the whole house heating system thereby avoiding more expensive heating bills.

2. Retro-looking unit. Might be a turn-off to others.

3. Selectable power for more energy savings from a low 1,000W to a high 1,500W.

4. Simple controls that are easy to use ones you get the hang of it.

5. Heat-free, light outer polymer material that you can touch without fear of getting burned from a hot surface or static when touching a metal enclosure in a dry air environment.

6. A small handle at the back to help you carry and move the product around where needed.

7. Variable heat temperature with a fan that automatically spins on and off depending on the desired temperature.

MISS...

1. Poor manufacturing construction quality. I opened a few boxes that was shipped in two retail stores and the quality of the product varied. There are a couple of products with scratches and others with deformed polymer from the poor manufacturing process.

2. The small fan in my first unit was whisper quiet. I returned due to a deformed outer casing. The second unit has a noisy fan which sounds like it's not perfectly balanced on it's axis when spinning.

3. Although I like the retro look, I have to wonder why it can't be improved upon or refined better. The front controls look like a high school project from generic parts bin electronics store.

FINAL THOUGHTS...

It's hard to take this product seriously when you can find solid construction and good quality heaters made in China for half the price. I like the look of this retro heater that is a statement in itself. If they can take their manufacturing process seriously, they can broaden the appeal of their heaters to outside patrons apart from their very own Canadian people.
