The product was very easy to install. It's fairly large, so it fit a little snugly into the electrical box. It looks really neat once installed. The LED's are not intuitive though. They blink even when the fan or lights are off. To stop this, switch the fan off with the large button. The LED's will continue to blink, but then press and hold the large button for 3-5 seconds until the fan comes on, then turn off with the large button again. The LED's won't flash until the next time one of the smaller, timer buttons are used. The instructions are not very helpful with describing this override. In a dark room the LED flashing is annoying. I would have given 5 stars if it weren't for the LED issue.

I installed this to control a whole house fan that we have. If you already have a switch in the wall, this easily replaces it. Very easy install and very easy to use and looks nicer than the knob style timer switches

This is one of the few timers that has a range from 5 minutes to 4 hours. That's perfect for a bathroom timer whether for an embarrassing whiff, or you want it to completely dry out after a long shower. It's convenient to be able to start the time of your choice with a simple press of a button.

Installation was a breeze. I saw a comment about how deeply inset this product was. It fit snugly, but there was no problem or need to buy any additional hardware to accomodate it. I saw some comments about the blue LED light being bothersome. I don't mind it at all. Mine is being used in a bathroom, and not next to my face in a bedroom. Note also that this timer is not a precision clock. "Four hours" turned out to be more like four hours and twenty minutes. Again, that's just fine for my goals.

Now that I've tried it out, I'm ordering a second one.

I was having a tough time finding a timer, that didn't need a neutral in the switchbox, for my new bathroom fan that takes very little power. This one even works if you have LED lighting or new low power fans. It works perfectly.

It takes about a minute to charge after you turn the power back on after installing, then it's easy to operate. Press the button for the time period you want and the fan starts. A blue LED blinks every few seconds to indicate which time has been selected. If the fan is running press the big unmarked button to stop. If the fan has already stopped press the large button to recall the last countdown period and start the fan. Pretty simple, yet very functional.

I cut one star for being so ugly!

I bought this to time-limit lights that my family (including me) have a bad habit of leaving on -like in the garage and basement. This is the only unit I found that works with just two wires and a green ground (single pole application) as is typical in may houses. Other units have three wires, which is a problem. Anyway WHEN FIRST INSTALLING IT BE PATIENT (!!) and wait 5 or 10 minutes before switching it on and off to see if it works, because it takes time to charge up the internal circuitry. This is mentioned in the instructions but not emphasized and I think the recommendation was for a couple of minutes, but I found it necessary to wait longer. After that it will switch on and off immediately.

I was looking for a affordable boiler for my kitchen counter. The Secura 4.6 quart seemed the best choice balancing price and capacity. You can pay much more for similar products, but I really don't know why you would. This appliance had stood up very well through nearly 3 weeks of heavy (ab)use.

Now, devices like this do a good job at having hot water available for tea, cocoa mix, instant coffee, ramen noodles, etc., but I was looking for an additional very different reason. I am in the middle of a most of the house remodelchiefly the kitchen and bathroom. I have no hot water heater and am still debating a single whole house on demand unit vs 3 point of use on demand units. Meanwhile, heating 3 qt sauce pans of water on a hot plate is getting old not to mention slow. That is the principle reason I purchased this appliance. I turn it on the first thing I get up each morning. In about 20 minutes I have hot water to wash my face and fill my French press pot to make coffee. I make sure it is kept filled all day long. We have hot water whenever it is needed to make tea, soup cups, wash some dishes, more pots of coffee, you name it. I have been heating on average 6 full pots of water everyday for nearly three weeks in other words, it is getting a heavy duty work out and it works perfectly. We have very nearly perfect pH water where I live so I haven't needed to use the cleaning cycle yet, but I have real faith in that. Any device that just keeps performing nearly round the clock for three weeks must be well made and, at least in my book, be considered dependable.

Turning to more conventional product performance concerns, it is very well insulated, as I was reminded this morning. I didn't use the last batch of water I heated up last night. When I unplugged the unit for the day at bedtime, it had been holding the water at the lowest setting (176F) for a few hours. My house is about 65F at night. When I plugged it in this morning, it brought the water back to boiling (212F) in less than 10 minutes. It couldn't have lost much heat overnight. If you lay your hand on the side of it while turned on, it is just slightly warm. If you have kids around, you needn't be concerned with them touching the housing. And there is no accidental tripping a stream of scalding hot water. To use the auto-dispense device, you must first depress the safety switch (unlock button) again, a good thing if you have kids around (or inattentive grown-ups). If you don't want to use electricity to dispense your water, you can use the big button on the top, just like on conventional thermos-type air pot. This is also handy if you decide you want a late night cup of tea right after you unplug it for the day. Something I learned last night. (No, 176F isn't great for making a cup of black tea, but it does a nice job on green tea besides you can hold the water at either 194F ideal for press pot coffee or 208F if you need it hotter.)

I am very pleased with this water boiler, both using it as intended and even more so using it in my unusual albeit temporary manner. Actually, having used this as I have, I would especially recommend one for anyone with an RV I have never been pleased with the temperature of the hot water in any RV I have been in when it came time to wash dishes. With this, I use 2 quarts from the boiler and add enough cold to make it possible to put my hands in the dish water. I have cleaned up dishes from making a cake and 2 batches of cookies along with my supper dishes from a single batch of dish water made up this way. And there is enough hot water left to make up a dish pan of hot rinse water at the same time. Even once I have the hot water heater(s?) installed, it will remain a new best friend in my kitchen. I love being able to have a fresh pot of press pot coffee in moments all day long. No more waiting for the kettle to boil sweet.

I have used but not owned the more expensive Japanese water boilers/dispensers. That said, for the unbeatable, reduced price, this thing works great. It's high capacity and boils water quickly and keeps it hot. It gives you hot water 24/7 if needed or wanted. What else can you ask for? I bought this for work and we serve hot water to an older crowd. Unfortunately the controls are going to be a pain in the butt. This thing "locks" automatically after 30 seconds or so and you have to press "unlock" to use it again. I wish there was a way to toggle this autolock on or off. Other than that, this is a cheap and nice alternative to those of us who don't want to pay $250 to boil water.

Less than 17 months later, our hot water boiler is kaput. One day, it just stopped working. We unplugged it and tried replugging it which only resulted in constant beeping without any boiling. Not sure what broke or why it isn't working. Was great while it worked. Sucks that it stopped working after the warranty is expired. Wish I had spent more money on a better longer lasting quality product.

I've had this water boiler for a few weeks now and have absolutely no complaints. My boyfriend uses it daily to make french press coffee and I use it mostly to make tea, hot chocolate, and cups of ramen. This is a definite upgrade from my previous water boiler, which after working faithfully for 10 yrs stopped having water pressure. I love that you just have to press a button to dispense the water. My previous one only had a manual pump on the top. I haven't had any issues with cleaning or any sort of deposits or build up but then again, I've only had it a few weeks. I use mostly filtered water to boil. Overall, I'm very happy with it. Happy to have a good looking water boiler that doesn't look cheap and doesn't look like it's from the 80's with flower prints on the sides of it.

Loved this water heater the first day I used it, then two nights later, a flood. Overnight, about a litre of water 'leaked' from the pot and flooded the countertops and wood floors.

All the lights were on, but the machine had switched itself off and the water was 'warm'. So I unplugged it...hoping for a reset and a working kettle. I plugged it back in and reboiled. About 25 minutes later, I checked. It had boiled...and boiled and boiled. The cabinets were 'steamed' to the point that the finish on my cherry cabinets were damaged. I had to pull the plug again just to stop it boiling. Now the water pump had stopped working completely and only the manual pump was usable.

I'd love to try again, but will stick with a conventional kettle next time.

I got this to supplement the window unit I've been using for years and ended up just completely replacing the window unit.

Very robotic design, it stands around 3ft tall and is in fact rather slim once you take it out of the packaging. Came with all the necessary accessories to get it running immediately. Hooking it up and putting the hot air vent where my window A/C used to be was extremely straightforward.

We usually power it up after my daughter returns from pre-school and set the temperature to around 74F. It usually shuts off at about 2am when the room and outside temps are nice and comfortable. The air is extremely cold around the unit and gets a good sized room down to a nice temp really fast. It seems very quiet during the day with all the other sounds and my daughter has slept like a baby ever since we got it. I does emit a low hum when it's cooling but otherwise the fan sound is not noticeable to me. You can turn it on high for a few minutes but after awhile, that's overkill. It does a great job on a low fan setting once the room is almost at the temp you want it at.

I really like the idea of not having to use central air like in our old apartment. I think over time the utility savings will easily cover the cost of the unit. The best part is I can bring it with us if we ever move.

It's worked excellently for a couple of weeks now and I may just end up getting another for our own room.

This has been a lifesaver during hot summer days. I agree with the negative reviews about it being noisy, but I have it in my bedroom and I got used to it after 2 nights. I sleep through it now. The LED is also very bright, but not so much that it keeps me awake. I took off a star because of the useless window mount. The hoses weren't long enough for it to reach my window, so I went to Home Depot to build a rig. Replacement hoses are EXPENSIVE, so I didn't buy them. The screws are very short and pop right out of the cheap plastic mount, so I'm using tape to hold them in place. I have since moved and now have casement windows, so I'm in the process of building a new mount in which I will screw the hoses directly into a piece of plexiglass which will sit in the window. I've read that this will work fine, so I'm not concerned about it. One of the negative reviews I read about this unit is that it failed to cool the space. It is designed to cool roughly 600 square feet (a small apartment) so it works fine for my place. I also use a fan to push the cool air into the other room. I like the look of the unit, as well as the fact that it can be a fan or a dehumidifier. I bought plastic tubing for the water collection tank, but it has yet to produce a single drop. The vent hose is doing its job.

I built a bar in my garage that is ~ 600 sqft. Now understand, it has walls and insulation but the exterior is corrugated tin and gets very hot. I started my journey of research to find a unit to make it comfortable. I looked at all sorts of options and spoke to several AC installers. Typically speaking, AC's are rated by the BTU's (12K BTU per 400 sqft) and I knew that 14K was not enough to cool down 600 sqft . I thought I would try it anyway because of the ease. When the unit arrived I took it out of the box, connected a few things, and turned it on (yes it is that easy). Just remember...there are two hoses in the back of the unit (intake and output). The output hose must be ventilated and the input needs to be left disconnected from the window. The intake is what pulls the air from the room, the unit cools the air, the cold air is blown back into the room and the hot air it vented out. That is basically how a unit (any AC unit) works.

Contrary to my thoughts, it works great. It is not real loud (as some say it is). Even in July with 105° Texas heat and 98% humidity this unit will pull the temp down to a comfortable degree. It will take about an hour and a half but it is well worth it.

Ok this is the second summer I have had this unit and If you live in Los Angeles you know its been 95 to 105 degrees all week! Havent used this AC since last summer so this week we brought it out and hooked it up and it is still working flawlessly! No problems what so ever same sound level same cold output all the buttons still work and the hoses are still fine. So far for me this unit has been rock solid and I am still very happy with my purchase, if you intend on buying please read my original review below and spend a little time to hook it up correctly.

I bought this AC after doing some research and the reviews here.

My unit arrived in great condition and after reading some reviewers say the hose attachment did not stay on with the screws provided I went to the hardware store and bough 8 bolts, nuts and lock washers as well as a plastic filler plate to fill the gap that the vent didnt cover. Total price $8.98.

I put everything together with the bolts I bought and threw away the screws that came with it, I can see how they would not be able to hold the hose connector properly they are just some short wood screws that go through connector to the window vent plate, not a very secure way to hold it on but oh well.

I turned the unit on immediately very cold air poured out now it wasnt very hot in the room maybe 75 but you could feel the difference it made. I will give a better review on its full performance after the summer which I feel will be a good test the room I have it in has direct sunlight all day and is the hottest room in the house.

The unit looks well made and is very solid the noise level is not that bad my portable unit is more quite than my window unit that has only 12,000 btu's.

So far I am happy but I will update this as the summer goes into full heat mode.

Do your self a favor and take the vent plate and one of the hose connectors to a hardware store and get the bolts this will save alot of cussing later on. I truly believe those wood screws will not last too long if there is any amount of pressure placed on the plate from the vent hoses.

Oh and one other thing the vents, I am not to sure why they are designed to go just straight up? I am going to make a hood to redirect the air a little more forward but I will try it the way it was designed and report back.

Ok so we have neen through a few 90 degree days here and I have to say that there are a few things I have learned about AC efficiency. first insulation is a must a room the is not well insulated will not cool as well as a room that is!

My AC unit is in a room with a sliding glass door that gets full sunlught all day long so it gets pretty hot with the AC running full blast it got cool but not COLD, i mean it was comfortable but i felt it was at the limit of what it could do.

What I did was buy some solar shade screens and placed them in front of the sliding doors not the whole door just the upper half. The AC unit now does an a amazing job of cooling the room! The heat coming in from the window was canceling out the cooling from the AC so it never had a chance to do its thing. it got so cold in there on a 80 degree day I found my kids watching TV with blankets covering them!

So my final thoughts on this purchase are, you must assess the room and the environmental that this AC will be used in and use some common sense if there is a heat source in the room that will cause it to heat up the AC will only go so far to keep the temps down if you can help the unit by minimizing any direct heat to the room the AC will perform at its best.

I will be starting a home job soon, so I wanted a portable A/C unit so I can cool my home-office this summer. I didn't want to cool the whole house, I only want to cool the room I'm in. My windows slide horizontally, so a regular window A/C unit wouldn't work well for me. After alot of research, I decided to go with this model. I live in a 3 BR house (1,600 sq foot) by myself and I am always trying to find ways to save on my electricity bill. I hope this A/C unit will help with the savings.

The good:

It works. It keeps my office room cool.

It's portable. After working in my office, I can roll this out to the living room. My living room isn't too big, but it's open to the kitchen, so it does take some more time to cool the room.

The bad:

Minus half star for the window kit. The window kit does not fit my window. It's shorter than what I need. The screws would not stay on the circle brackets where the hoses are attached. That's why I used my own screws and bolts I bought from Home Depot. See notes below on how I made my own window kit. I also added pictures to show what I made.

Minus half star for the noise. It's loud. While I'm in the living room, I have to turn the volume up more than usual on my TV. It's just as loud as my regular window A/C in my bedroom. But that is to be expected so that's why I'm only taking half a star off.

Homemade Window Kit:

I went to Home Depot and had them cut a wood board to fit my window (6.5" x 46"). I bought some #6 screws (1 inch) with bolts and washers. I also bought weather stripping. I went to Harbor Freight and bought a cheap "Cut Out Tool". It's sort of like a rotary tool.

I used the original window kit to draw the circles on to the wood board and mark the screw holes. I spaced the openings a little more apart from each other because with the original window kit, the hoses were difficult to attached cuz they are so close to each other. Once the circle and screw holes were marked, I used the rotary tool to cut the circles out of the board. Then I drilled the screw holes. I then attached the circle bracket to the board using #6 screws and bolts. I added weather stripping tape to one side so when the window closed, it makes a nice seal.

Other thoughts:

The remote is nice, but I never use it.

I am worried the drain might leak, but I'll keep an eye on it. The manual says that if the reservoir gets full, the compressor will stop. You'll know when the compressor has stop when it's just the fan that's running and it's not blowing cold air anymore.

I'll update this review if I have any issues. As of right now, YES I do recommend this portable A/C unit.

I ordered this after receiving a Amazon gift card as a gift. I didn't seek it out, but found it perusing around on the site and thought it looked cool so I took a chance. We always have backyard campfires over an old tree stump, and sometimes if they get a little too big I keep the water hose handy to keep it contained. But that problem was solved when we got the fire ring. We love it! It contains the fire and looks really cool with the moon and star cutouts. Our friends always compliment us on it and ask where we got it. Nicely made it's heavy enough gauge steel to keep it from bending but not too heavy to move if necessary. We use ours at campgrounds that don't have their own fire rings. We replaced the included nuts and bolts with stainless steel bolts and wing nuts to make assembly/disassembly easier although there is nothing wrong with the included hardware. It's slightly larger than I would have liked 3' in diameter but there is nothing comparably-made that is smaller. After having several very hot fires in it there is no noticeable damage to the paint or metal it should last us many years. I am well pleased with it.

I chose it for the size & it 'seemed' sturdy.

I truly expected it to be flimsy & hoped for the best. It is actually quite thick & sturdy. Cannot beat it for the price I paid. Love this type because it is lower maintenance than the portable ones & is much larger.

Family has made s'mores & hot dogs already. May get adventurous & get a grill top for it.

*UPDATE* One concern is that it does rust easily. The screws are the worst. We had to sand & spray it w/ rust proof black. I HIGHLY recommend you buy some rustolleum spray paint and treat it before assembly, then follow up with another blast around screws. It will save a ton of work & extend the life a lot.

This is the one for anything except rotisserre.

It has a series of adjustable vents accros the front and the back, and a circular adjustable vent on top. This allows for very precise air-flow contol.

The grill adjusts to 3 levels, four if you're inventive. After a couple of uses it's virtually air-tight with all vents closed, so you can cool down an aggressive fire in a heartbeat.

I give it 4 stars reserving the 5th for it's Meco cousins which are of the same funtional design, but more pricey due to retractable wooden tables on one or both sides and a wooden shelf down below. But they are all superb as grilling machines.

My older Meco grill was built much better than this one. There is alot thinner metal on this new grill. It is not as sturdy and the metal gives more. It is alot lighter than my older one. It cost twice as much as my old one but, it was made alot cheaper. It is hard telling how long this one is going to last. Keep this in mind if you want to buy one of these. I was very disappointed with this grill.

I bought this to replace an original bathroom wall heater that was over 50 years old. That one had coils and the surface would get real hot. If you left a towel in front of it for awhile, I think it would ignite. The new version has a fan and is much safer. The surface doesn't get very hot and the fan is quiet. I just purchased another one to replace the heater in my other bathroom.

My old wall heater from the 1970's finally burned out. Because that model wasn't available anymore i want with something that looked similar, the Cadet heater. It was very easy to install and took only about an hour from box to turning it on. And it works perfect, heating up the room quickly. It doesn't get as hot as my old heater but i can understand why. The old heater seemed too much of a fire hazard. This new heater covers the heating units and blows the hot air out. Works great.

Despite being made in the USA (its not, its made in Canada) this is a mediocre item. I replaced the last one (A Cadet) which only lasted about six years. The original (no longer made) lasted thirty years.

The heat produced is minimal for a bathroom. This is not a particularly good heater... The only real advantage is that it fits into (with some pushing, etc.) the orginal wall "can." If you are like me and not particularly handy this is the only way to go. If you are handy enough to put in a new heater, ceiling or wall etc.. loose this one. Its just not that good a heater nor is the quality there.

The "protective coating" is some tape all over the chrome parts and had to be picked away sliver, by sliver a pain in the neck to say the least.

If you do buy one avoid buying from Gradysonline.com I made that mistake. It took eleven days to get the heater. I have amazon direct which offered free two day shipping but the web site said that Amazon was out of the product. The only communication from Grady's was a UPS tracking EMAIL two days ago. The tracking information indicated it left the seller's facility yesterday near my home!!! Eleven days is ridiculous without some communication. Wish I had just gone to the local ACE hardware to buy this thing its been a cold week.

Three stars, only because it is the "only game in town" for a direct replacement. Otherwise, there are much better heaters and stay away from Grady's. I am really surprised that Amazon (typically excellent customer service) allows this company to sell on the Amazon web site. Well, three stars is actually quite generous considering the overall product and sales...

I've used it nearly every day since purchase. It works very well as an oven and as a microwave. I've also used the top and bottom grill with great success. I worried it wasn't going to heat, brown or bake sufficiently-but it does it all very well. The micro features work flawlessly and it cleans very easily as well. I am a chief cook and bottle washer in New England and I am a proficient cook. I saved nearly $100 by ordering it-it was $399+ in stores.

This is a truly amazing counter top all in one oven. I hate to clutter up my counter space with all those bulky appliances that each do just one task. This one does it all, and does it well. It microwaves, bakes, grills, toasts, and roasts. And it's a convection oven too. It's just become my favorite appliance. Oh, and if decor is important to you, the exterior is not stainless steel. It's a steel grey metallic colored enamel finish. The interior is actually stainless steel.

I already owned one, so when my Pool Man reinstalled my 2" lines, he moved

my 1st Hayward Valve over to my Inputs, (Drain & Filter) to better control

the flow mix to my Pump.. I had also ordered a New Hayward Heater..

so when my pool man just piped my Filter Output to the Heater..

I needed a new 3-Way.. to avoid sending powdered Chlorine into the Heater Copper Tubes all the time. This unit does the job perfectlyto bypass the heater most of the year

A Bonus,, the unit quickly unbolts, so that I can adjust everything.

I also took the Valve Lever off,& spray-painted the lower triangle surface openings 1-side Green; the other Red,, with the protuding one left White Which provides an instant indication to my Pool Services, just what the

setup is.. Since I kept my 1st Hayward filter & added a Larger Filter

.. to give me more days between backwashing the (2)Cartridges.

I also got the Threaded version (Cheaper& better to install.). since it

means I don't permanently cement into the Valves, but use 2" pieces

to more easily fit into my system upgrades, later allow the threaded

pipes to unscrew.. My old system had many junctions cemented. Now I can more easily adjust the systems layouts as desired.

Also very fast 2 day Amazon Service.. Tho they repackaged the original

shipping 4x6" box into a much larger 14" box.. Wt 2.7 lbs.
