Being disabled with foot pain daily, I did my research first before buying this and it had the best reviews overall, excepting the heater issue, but with the Amazon Return Policy I wasn't worried. This machine has everything you'd ever want in a foot massager like powerful bubbles, shiatsu balls for each foot, light therapy (don't know if it really helps), a waterfall for your foot top, and best of all, it fits my size 13 4E width men's feet! The heater will keep your water from growing completely cold, maintaining it at about 80-85 degrees, definitely not hot but better than nothing. It would be surprising if a manufacturer made a foot massager heater really all that hot, due to the potential liability issues, especially with children. So overall I'm very excited to own this and am not that concerned about the heater. I start the water at about 110 degrees which gives me a 30-45 minute soak, which is all I need. If you are a woman or just concerned about how your feet look, you'll really love this Conair FB-52 since it has all the pedicure attachments you could ever want. I don't even bother with them but now that I've been using this machine for 2 weeks now, I've noticed that all the dead skin and callouses are entirely gone from my feet, just in rubbing the dead skin off while drying after a soak. This machine comes highly recommended from this customer. It would be a great gift for the woman who has everything, and especially helpful for pregnancy foot pain issues at the end of the day. Overall: Great buy for $40 on a product that will get used.

Unit works well with the blue lights, waterfall, and pumice stone. It's not quite a portable spa, but it is better than a plastic tub with hot water. The instructions say that the heat should last about 20 minutes and it does.

What you should know is that this machine does not heat cold water. You have to put in hot water, about 110 degrees, and the machine will slightly heat the water, but not much. With the bubbles, waterfall, and everything running the temperature drops sharply within about 15 minutes.

If you want a relaxing foot soak with passive massagers, bubbles, and a waterfall, this unit is perfect.

Don't expect too much, though, from a $40 product. Was I happy to have purchased it? Yes. It does everything I want and came at a bargain.

I'll knock it down one star because the marketing builds it up to be more than it is.

Based on documentation the heater is intended to "maintain temperature of warm water"

First use hinted that it wasn't doing the job, so I ran some tests with a digital thermometer. Hot tap water with the unit not plugged in lost 10-11 degrees in 10 minutes.

Same test with the heat/bubbles ON showed a drop of 28 degrees in 10 minutes. Another test with heat/bubbles plus waterfall shoed a drop of 31 degrees in 10 minutes.

Conclusion: the heater is too feeble to keep up with heat loss from room air being mixed with the water (bubbles or bubbles plus waterfall).

We returned for a refund.

this unit should be another 4 to five inches wider. It hurts around the ancle area because you have to sit tightly and straight instead of being relaxed!

I did a lot of product research before adding this particular model to my wish list, where my husband found and purchased it for me. I saw that it got very mixed reviews (as did pretty much all its competitors), but it seemed the best of the lot, and some of the negative comments might be chalked up to product misuse. Unfortunately I must now add mine to the others (I will be returning the product).

Pros:

Lots of bells and whistles. The lighting is pretty (although it serves no other function), and the waterfall is pleasant. While others have complained about excessive splashing, I did not find that to be the case on any setting when filled to the "max" fill line; it did splash out a few drops, but not enough to be any problem. I wonder if some of the complaints about splashing may have been due to over-filling. When the unit is filled to the "max" line, the water does not cover the foot, so it would seem natural to over-fill it. It has several attachments that look like they might have been useful had they been located somewhere accessible to the feet. The massaging rollers might be quite pleasant for someone with very small feet. Aside from the roller usage, the unit is plenty large enough for big feet (mine are size 10, and I believe the unit would even accommodate my husband's size 14 feet, albeit not with much room to move).

Cons:

The unit is horribly uncomfortable. Although I was sitting with my legs in as vertical a position as possible, the narrower width at the heel and straight sides of the unit means that it was quickly causing bruising above my ankles on either side. My feet are too large to make use of the massage rollers, so I removed them; both came out in pieces. The manual said that if the rollers are removed, the feet may be massaged on the gel insert; however, there was no other mention of a gel insert, nor was one included with my unit. The trough that had previously held the massage roller was sharp and painful with it removed.

Not recommended.

My plumber who installed this told me that I would need to set it on about 3 out of 5 to keep the detached garage apartment that I use for an office warm, which is about 450 square feet on a second floor with an unheated garage below. The other night it was 17 degrees and breezy outside and 1.25-1.5 out of 5 kept things comfortable. I have been using two electric heaters and the winter electric bills have been higher for the office than for my house on the same realty that has central heat and air, a washing macnine, an electric dryer, refrigerator, multiple TVs with every family member watching theirs and all sorts of other electrical devices. Further, electric heaters did not keep it warm, just unfrozen. Most winter days my fingers were darn cold on the keyboard. Now I look forward to winter days in the office. Why didn't I install this years ago? Great unit.

I wanted a ventless heater that didn't need power. We have frequent, and sometimes extended, power outages and it GETS COLD when the stupid GAS FURNACE won't operate without power!

So I installed it myself in the basement (there was already a gas connection there from an old gas clothes dryer) in about a hour. No problem. The instructions explain everything, and list what you need to buy extra (a few pieces of "black iron pipe", some gas-safe Mylar tape to wrap the pipe threads, and a flexible gas appliance hookup line. I got everything from the appliance section of the local hardware store in one trip. Installation worked the first try. It lit right up on the first try, too. Wheeee!

Now we turn the darned thing on anytime we're working in the basement (like doing laundry) during the winter. Very easy to use, very reliable (I'm on it's second winter), and IT PUTS OUT A LOT OF HEAT!

Excellent purchase.Easily heats my 2 and a half car garage in southern Idaho. We had an extremely cold winter this year the electric bill was outrageous. Electric heaterwas running full time.We had several minuofficial s 10 degrees nights. This heater was able to cycle on and off while still keeping the garage warm. I know my gas bill will be cheaper than electricity. It'll pay for itself soon.

This heater is a better quality then the blue flame kinds. If you are shopping make sure you buy the thermostate model and not the hight medium low models. Its worth the extra money so the heater will turn off and on automatically. The non-thermostat models stay on all the time either high, medium, or low flame.

I use this in my home in Ohio and it heats my two story three bedroom home without using my furnace at 14 degrees!!!

I have since installed them in my rental apartments to help my tenants save money on their gas. I am shocked that everybody doenst have these!!! They are so efficient and cost so little money and are a 5 minute installation!

I originally purchased a different sauna from amazon for $189, but the emfs were a concern. I returned it after it set off my emf meter big time. I dont have that problem with this one. Dont get me wrong, there are emfs, but they are minimal.

I let my sauna heat up for a few minutes before using it, although I have read where you can warm up with the sauna. Its a wonderful sauna, no emf issues. I did have a few questions so I called Therasage and the person that answered the phone was very helpful, very knowledgeable, actually uses the sauna and even invited me to try out the one there in Boca Raton if I was close by. The customer service is very helpful!

Oh yes, the chair is very sturdy. I am so glad I purchased this sauna!

I have been searching for a while to find a sauna that not only looks good, but IS good. I finally found one that fits the bill. I am always worried about fly-by-night companies that exist somewhere else in Asia and beyond. Therasage actually has an office in the USA that you can call and speak to an actual person. The sauna is very well made--I could tell as soon as I took it out of the box. It was shipped very well, and didn't smell of toxins upon removing it from the box.

I set it up in seconds and turned it on. No crazy off-gassing, no terrible smells--manual is easy to read and understand--obviously written by people with a grasp of the English language! After the 5 minute heat up I got in the sauna. Not uncomfortable in the least. At about minute 17 I was sweating profusely. It continued this way until my time was up and it beeped.

I LOVE this thing! I can fold it up out of the way if I need, it doesn't use too much electricity, doesn't smell, AND I know from watching someone online with an EMF meter that the emf's are very low for this sauna.

All in all, I would ABSOLUTELY recommend this to everyone. While it is not made in America, it has the qualities of a stateside product, and with a company I can actually call, it makes all the difference in the world.

I have had expensive saunas in the past, and this stacks up to them completely, but with low emf's.

The chair is comfortable, the build quality is great. I will use this thing for a long time. Highly recommended.

I've been using this sauna everyday for about a month now. It works great and haven't had any problems. Setup was easy. I get a great sweat, exactly what I wanted. I do about an hr on level 5 and start sweating at about 25 mins. I have made some adjustments, I don't use the chair, but enclose my entire body and cover opening with a blanket. I sit on a large towel. I have also fitted a piece of cardboard in the top to keep the top from sagging down on me. Works for me. Either way, it's a great sauna with different options for use. My skin is much softer, noticed immediately, and though the scales haven't registered much difference, but some(so it's not all water weight), my pants fit much better than a month ago. I do turn it on about 10 mins before I'm ready so it will be nice and toasty when I get in. Bottom line, a great little portable, convenient sauna that I'm so happy I tried. You will sweat. Very pleased. PsI'm 5'4, if you're tall, you'll be a bit more cramped, but still very usable.

Honest reviews on Therasage Ps2002 Portable Far Infrared Sauna, Black, Large

Love this Sauna. I never could break a really good sweat in a dry Sauna, once I would start to sweat the heat would overwhelm me. With this Sauna I turn it up all the way watch TV or a movie for a hour and when I'm finished I'm wet from Sweat. Storage is easy, setup is easy. One thing to note, the instructions are not great. There is a black piece of insulation that when you unpack the unit seems to fit on the back wall of the Sauna, you need put this on the bottom, also there are plastic tubes in the front that fold down to lock the frame in place. Once these 2 items are in place the Sauna is very stable.

Grab a towel and start sweating, it's great on cold days.

I bought this sauna about 2 months ago from a different site as I was able to get a better price. I LOVE this unit. As someone who suffers from Multiple Chemical Sensitivities, I have tried many modalities to rid my body of pollutants and toxins that we get bombarded with every day. This sauna has made a HUGE difference in my life. I use it almost every day. The first few times was kind of tough because I experienced Herxheimer reaction/crisis of healing where the symptoms are more intense initially as the body is detoxing from all of the chemicals it has been exposed to. Felt like a very nasty flu. But, since I got through that phase, I have been able to maintain a healthier existence by using the sauna almost every day.

A couple of extra things I do that helps is to dry brush my body before using the sauna. I take a quick shower after brushing and before the sauna to get rid of the powdery substance/skin. My most comfortable and effective setting is #3 for the heat and I stay in it anywhere from 30 to 60 minutes. I take a shower immediately afterwards using a brown sugar scrub as it is recommended to NOT use any kind of soap, etc. and I want to finish the exfoliating process. During the sauna, I have to use extra towels. I have a couple on the chair and several on the floor because I sweat like I have never sweat before. I cover my head with a towel so that the heat rises around the neck hole and I am able to get a face sauna as well.

Not only am I feeling better and am able to do much more than I was able to do just 3 short months ago, but my 58 yr old skin is looking much nicer... moisturized. The biggest reward is no more migraines. It is nice to not have to live in a "cave" to minimize the pain and nausea. Along with that is the fact that the body aches and pains are gone as well. After the first 15 minutes, I just sort of melt into the chair. The sauna takes about 2 minutes to set it up or take down. Of all the things I have done for my health over the years, this is by far one of the best.

The other positive thing with this particular unit is that the EMF is rated much lower than comparable models. As someone who is sensitive to electromagnetic fields and is using this modality to get well, I especially want to avoid "bathing" in EMFs.

The only thing I am going to change is the chair. It is just not that comfortable, but is quite sturdy and works until I can find something that will work even better.

update: 08/06/12 I found a chair that works quite well with this sauna at my local home depot for thirteen dollars and 88 cents. It is called an oversized folding bag chair and is made of the same materials as the chair that came with the sauna, but is larger, is padded, and has arm rests. It just fits in the sauna and allows me to completely relax now whereas before I always had the feeling that I needed to "hold myself up". I see that Amazon has a selection of this type of chair, but did not see a padded version.

another update: 08/31/12 One of my boys (7 yr old black lab) was feeling poorly so I decided to try putting him in the sauna and it seemed to work great for him. I removed the chair, covered the floor with old sheets and he went right inside and layed down with his nose sticking out. Since I couldn't zip it closed, I again used old sheets that were thick enough to contain the heat and draped them across the top and down the front allowing an opening of about 10 inches to be left at the bottom. He was able to leave anytime he wanted and elected to stay in for about 15-20 minutes each time. After the 3rd time/day, he was feeling much better... running around and playing tug of war with his brother. No proof that the sauna helped much &/or that he wouldn't have just gotten better over those 3 days without the sauna, but I do know that animals tend to find what they need and since he decided that he needed/wanted to be in it as much as he was... I believe it did help to some extent. especially since I offered to him again this morning and he refused.

This top-of-the-line residential heater turned my backyard into a cozy oasis! When mounted 8 ft above the ground as required by code, it covers an area of about 10 ft x 10 ft. It mainly warms the skin when it is directly exposed. Do not expect it to warm the air as much as a gas-powered heater does. The infrared heat emitted by this heater mainly warms surfaces rather than the air without the smell of gas and without the hassle of failing igniters. The heat comes on at the flick of a switch. Be aware that at 6,000 Watts it is quite power-hungry, but if you have solar panels on the roof it may still be economical. The convenience of instant heat is priceless!

Bought this fireplace for a newly remodeled area of our living room in October. We heat with an oil furnace and wanted to supplement to save money this Winter. We have not had a cold Winter in New England so far, but it has been cold enough to determine that I rarely hear the furnace turn on. I keep it on low and it heats up our living room area very quickly(about 650 sf) and a lot of heat goes upstairs too. Running our ceiling fans helps to circulate the warm air. We have run this unit everyday in the morning when I get up and all evening when I get home from work. My gas bill has increased 10 dollars a month. I can only imagine how much oil we have saved using this fireplace. The cabinet looks like a well made piece of furniture and it adds a lot to my home. My two cats take turns sleeping on top of it. There is a little smell to it when it is operating, but not any worse than when my gas oven is on in the kitchen. Very cozy watching the flames and feeling the warmth.

I would have given it 5 stars but I have to say that the controls are not that easy to operate as you have to get down on the floor and use two hands to turn it on and off. A remote would have been nice. Another thing is that it should come with the heater fan already installed not as an add on for another 100 dollars. Heat rises and there really isn't any way to disperse the heat efficiently without using a fan. Also, I had to have my plumber run the gas line, which cost another 200 dollars, but he was nice enough to put the whole thing together for me and helped figure out how to run it. We both had to read through the instructions several times to figure it out.

All in all, I would recommend this product. We have really enjoyed the ambiance it creates and the savings it has already provided.

The only problem with this product is the control knob for setting the heat. It's crude and has numbers on it. I have been trying for a month to get it where it is comfortable.

This small fireplace produces a lot of heat. Some states have rules for ventless fireplaces and you may have have trouble getting it installed.

The thermostat just has a few settings and is crude. It may take awhile to get a comfortable setting.

Honest reviews on ProCom Compact Vent-Free Dual Fuel Fireplace with Corner Conversion

We purchased this product for our Florida room. It has turned a room that was unusable in the winter into a favorite winter retreat! It looks beautiful! The wood is real, not laminate. The fire is relaxing. We all clamor to be the one to get to sit closest to it!

Pro's out weigh the Con's

We used the corner conversion, which is just a triangle of wood, two support bars, and a wall mounted bracket. It was easy to do and looks natural. I was concerned about how much weight it could handle, but it seems to be able to support ample amount.

The thermostat is a little touchy. At first we thought it controlled the flame size, and to some degree it does. Setting one is low flame, setting two is medium flame, and setting 3 is high flame. Setting 4-6 is the same as three. But what we realized is that it is actually controlling the thermostat. The flame will shut off once it reaches a certain temperature. However, this was one thing we changed. The thermostat is located at the bottom back of the fireplace, which does not make it very accurate. I would suggest moving it higher, if your fireplace never seems to turn off or over heats the room.

As with any vent-free fireplace, it makes water. You will get condensation on any cold surfaces (like windows). The benefit to this is the house is somewhat humidified. The bad news is you will have to wipe down your windows & window sills. We actually really enjoy the moisture in the air.

This unit does not come with a blower. We have found it doesn't need one. We leave our ceiling fan (blowing up instead of down) on low. This is all it needs to evenly heat the room. Without the fan, the room heated fine. It just took a little longer for it to warm it all up.

This product does hook up to natural gas, so you will need to purchase any of the pipe that would connect your natural gas to the fireplace. And have the skill to connect the new pipe to an existing line. Also, as with any natural gas fires, it will have a bluish hue to the flame at the bottom and an orange hue to the flame at the top. We think that is still far prettier then no flame at all!

I bought 3 of these units at $500 each. 2 of them ceased working within a week. No help from the help line. OK, try to pack them back up again and lug them back to the store, or ship them. The third one does come on, but the tiny water reservoir fills immediately and is difficult and time-consuming to empty.

this is a very badly designed and thought-out product. I wish I'd never laid eyes on it. I've never been so disgusted with anything I've bought ever. Save yourself. Do not even consider this item. It does not work.

I used to do Air conditioning and Heating for a living so I know very well what I am talking about. For many years now I have a different career. I recently bought a house that was missing its central heat and AC air unit. My mom intending to be sweet and wanting to help out bought me a moving in gift which is this DeLonghi PACN130HPE. She forgets I am a expert in AC as I lived out of state while in that career.

Upon opening the box I immediately became suspicious of its advertised cooling capacities. I instantly knew that in order for it to accomplish its claims, it would have to have two ventilation hoses to an outside window. 1 a fresh air intake hose. And 2 a heat exhaust hose. But it only came with the capacity to handle one hose only which is the heat exhaust hose.

Let me explain Air conditioning principles of operation. There are two primary components of moving heat from the inside of a building to the outside of a building so you are left with a cool interior. One is an evaporator and the other is a condenser.

The evaporator is made cold by the incoming Freon/refrigerant. Warm humid interior air is drawn into the evaporator where it becomes cold and dryer and is then blown out the other/exhaust side of the evaporator as cool air. The heat and moisture/humidity that had been in the incoming air is removed and transferred into the refrigerant as the now cool dry air leaves the exhaust side of the evaporator and is blown back into the room for your enjoyment.

Now the refrigerant has picked up the heat and humidity and must take it somewhere to dump the heat as it becomes cool again so it can continue in its continuous circle loop endlessly. Always picking up heat, moving it, dumping it and coming back to the front of the loop to do it all over again as long as a AC unit is running.

Now comes the condenser. The condenser receives this hot refrigerant as air is blown thru the condenser. Outside air of maybe a 100 degrees enters the condenser and picks up the heat from the refrigerant and is blown back to the outside much hotter than it entered. Around 120 degrees. NOTE: The outside heat and humidity and moisture do go through the condenser but never actually enters the interior of your room in a normal AC unit.

Your interior air is constantly being recycled inside the room thru the evaporator becoming cooler and dryer. Unfortunately ALL homes leak. They let in moisture and heat so you have a constant daily battle of throwing them back outside where it leaked in from. It would be sweet if homes did not leak as you could run your AC for a couple of days and then be good for the rest of the year not needing any more AC. But that is not the case. AC units merely keep up with the rate of leak in so you can stay 15-30 degrees ahead of the game.

You probably want your interior room temperature to stay in the vicinity of 70-80 degrees. So you never want hot humid outside air of 100 degrees entering your home or you might as well just open all your windows.

Here is the problem with DeLonghi PACN130HPE AC units. They do not use outside air to blow through the condenser to pick up the heat from the refrigerant and then take the heat outside to dump it. It uses your interior air to carry the heat outside and dump it. In order for your interior air to be exhausted outside with the heat, air must be entering your home and room from another area to be replacing what is being blown outside. You cannot be continuously removing air from a container unless somewhere else you're letting air back into the container.

So while it is using your inside room air to carry the heat outside, somewhere else in your home hot humid air is re-entering your home to compensate for the air that is constantly being thrown out. Now nearly as fast as your dumping the heat and humidity outside away from you, in another area of the home hot moist air is being sucked back into the house almost as fast as your dumping it out of the house.

While that one room the DeLonghi PACN130HPE AC unit is in is feeling cooler, the other areas of your home are feeling warmer as hot moist air is literally being sucked in at an equal rate that is being thrown out of the one room with the DeLonghi PACN130HPE AC unit.

So the evaporator is blowing 13,000 BTU's of cool into the room the DeLonghi PACN130HPE AC unit is in, but the outside air being sucked into the house is immediately bringing 5,000 BTU's of heat and moist air back in at the same time. That is a HUGE loss that must be applied against the cool claims to determine the real gain your left with.

DeLonghi PACN130HPE does not tell you about the simultaneous losses but only about the claimed gains which are not even close to being accurate by the time you figure in all the other secret factors they don't want you to know about.

I actually tested this by replacing the DeLonghi PACN130HPE with some widow units I had to see what the real gains were. My 5,000 BTU window AC unit did not cool the room as much as the DeLonghi PACN130HPE 13,000 BTU's claimed did. But it did dry the room better as it was not sucking in wet moist air.

However when I placed my 8,000 BTU window unit in the room, it did deliver the same amount of cooling as DeLonghi PACN130HPE 13,000 BTU unit did, but still I gained the advantage from my window unit that the humidity level dropped much lower so it still felt even much better.

While the DeLonghi PACN130HPE 13,000 BTU unit did cool the room as much as my 8,000 BTU window unit did, it could not remove nearly as much humidity because the DeLonghi PACN130HPE is always sucking in wet moist air continuously. My window units did not do that. Besides my 8,000 BTU unit cooling the room exactly as much as DeLonghi PACN130HPE 13,000 BTU unit, I was much further ahead of the game by the fact the room was dry and not humid/muggy as had the DeLonghi PACN130HPE had made it.

The DeLonghi PACN130HPE did surprisingly little to remove the humidity from the room because it was constantly replacing the humidity through the incoming air. Its gains were constantly being eroded away by the constant losses.

Removing humidity from the room and removing it from the air is not the same things. The outside air may have a 80% humidity level. That is very sticky and muggy. You want the inside air below a 30% humidity level to feel very comfortable with. The DeLonghi PACN130HPE did remove humidity from the air but did not remove it from the room because the moisture being removed the air was being replaced at a equivalent level by in incoming air the DeLonghi PACN130HPE had to suck back into the room as it used room air to carry the heat and humidity it captured back outside. So as fast as it threw humidity outside it was sucking it back into the home at the same rate so there never was a drop in the room humidity level.

Be aware of what they won't tell you.

Another fact I did not like about the DeLonghi PACN130HPE was that it took up significant floor space in my room making it look and feel even more crowded. I would much rather have a window unit that uses 70% less electricity than the DeLonghi PACN130HPE as it does so much better at making the room more comfortable and humid free. My 8,000 BTU window unit for $300did a better job than DeLonghi PACN130HPE for $500as it uses 70% less electricity.

The advantage of the DeLonghi PACN130HPE was that it easily rolled around from room to room and in 60 seconds could be connected to virtually any window for quick temporary very inefficient cooling. I will say inefficient cooling is still much better than no cooling. I almost kept the DeLonghi PACN130HPE because I have another mobile home that needs remodeling and the DeLonghi PACN130HPE would be super quick and easy to set up in whatever room I happened to be working in that particular day, and then move it to another room the next day. My 8,000 BTU window unit takes 5 minutes to set up in any particular room. It weighs 40 pounds and does not roll around so I have to carry it from window to window. So what?

The advantages of the DeLonghi PACN130HPE were not large enough to justify keeping it for short term temporary cooling so I took it back to Lowes and traded it in for a 24,000 BTU window unit that really kicks ass for the same exact money. My 24,000 BTU window unit gives me 300% more cooling than the DeLonghi PACN130HPE does.

The DeLonghi PACN130HPE did have a good digital thermostat that held the room temp even without much fluctuation. It was attractive looking for what it was, a floor space user upper.

The DeLonghi PACN130HPE was not a total flop, but it was a far cry from what they claim and advertise it to be. Matter of fact, it was so far from the truth that I call it a gimmick and fake AC unit. Hope this helps you.

I would say this has the cooling capacity of a 4,000 btu unit... No where near worth the expense of running a (supposed) 14,000 btu AC.

The room stays warm and even with the temp outside at 80 the room never get lower than 75... It's going back to the store for a window unit.

(Update) Keep in mind this is a 14,000 Btu unit.... I just replaced it with a 12,000 BTU window AC and the room temp difference is huge. I wish this unit had worked.. It seems like a great idea... But it needs a redesign.

Honest reviews on DeLonghi PACN130HPE Portable Air Conditioner

I love this product. The only problem I had was when I got it, the wheels were damaged so it was no longer portable. But a quick run to Home Depot and I was back in business. I LOVED the fact that I didn't have to empty any water. I would definitely recommend this product.
