I have central heat, but for whatever reason by the time the air gets to the vents in my room, it's cold and my infant son sleeps in the room with me so I need it warm. The heater I was using (Lasko 6410 Designer Series Oscillating Ceramic Heater) only adjusts the thermostat in 5 degree increments but 70 let the room get to about 65 before it kicked on and heated the room to around 80 if I picked 75, so there was no happy medium.

From all the heaters I've looked at and the ones we have in the house (2 different models of Lasko oscillating ceramic heaters, which are digitally programmable but have annoying beeps, only have 1500w and 900w settings, no fan only setting, and cost almost twice as much), this is the best value. I personally do prefer a ceramic heater (I think they're safer and faster at heating a room), but I gave this one a try even though it's a fan-forced model because Pelonis is supposed to be a good brand and their ceramic heaters are expensive. I figured even if it only lasts a year or two that I will have gotten my money's worth out of it since it was so inexpensive.

This is the only space heater I've found that has a 600 watt energy setting and one of the few that has 3 (600w, 900w, and 1500w). Most only have 2. 1500 or 1200 seems to be the default and the ones that have an "energy saver" setting generally go to 900. The ones I've seen that go lower are over $50. Even though this heater is very compact, it warms up my 300ish square foot room set to a moderate temperature (can't set the thermostat for a specific temp) using the low energy setting.

For under $30 this is what you get with this heater:

-No plasticky new heater smell that needs to air out for 3 hours running on high in the garage or some other out of the way location (One of the Laskos had the smell but the other didn't)

-Cool touch housing -manual says it might get hot and that the air coming out might burn, but I've experienced neither even with basically constant use

-Overheat protection

-Auto shut off if tipped over

-600w low energy setting

-Fan only setting

-Adjustable thermostat

-Very quiet (the Laskos have louder fans)

-Very compact (less than 12" tall and approx. 9"x4" footprint)

-Element heats instantly so no waiting around while cold air is blowing on you

-Very effective at producing steady heat

-1 year warranty

-Carry handle in the back so it can easily be repositioned or moved to other rooms

Things it doesn't do:

-oscillate

-give specific thermostat settings (but I just discovered on mine that putting the thermostat in the middle of the 2nd lowest setting makes it turn on around 68)

Overall, this is a great unit. It does everything I need and I got it for about $26 including shipping. I would definitely purchase it again and I have already recommended it to my friends.

This fan replaced my old Pelonis fan that finally died after ten years or so. I like that it has three heat settings and an adjustable fan. The internal thermostat will kick it off when it reaches that stage. If it gets knocked off the surface that it's sitting on, it will cut off. It provides the instant direct heat that I wanted. It keeps my home office nice a toasty without me having to warm up the whole house by turning the main thermostat up. I would buy this fan again and again and again.

This is a great product. I have 2 Pelonis heaters. This one operates very quietly and has the advantage of using lower wattage settings than other similar heaters. Low operates at 600 watts which is the reason I bought this heater. It also has a thermostat which is nice. It doesn't smell like many ceramic heaters when they heat up. It produces uniform heat and doesn't blow really hard (the fan speed isn't really high).

Honest reviews on Pelonis Heater/Fan

I purchased this portable heater to use in my 18 foot RV. This little unit works great. I can heat the entire RV in about 20 minutes. There is not a numeric temperature setting, but after a few uses you get an idea of where to set the knob to get to your desired temperature. There is also a fan setting that doesn't produce heat but would work to create some air movement in the summer and to act as "white noise". I'm a fairly light sleeper and the fan on this unit isn't loud enough to wake me at night when it kicks on. This little heater is light weight, portable, inexpensive and works like a charm. My biggest worry with a portable heater was the fire risk. I don't use this heater when I'm not around to monitor it. When I turn it off after it's been on all night, the counter top underneath of it isn't even warm to touch. The unit kicks off a good amount of heat but doesn't get too hot for me to pick it up by the built in handle. It operates quietly so I can use it while I'm watching TV or on the phone without difficulty. The cord is a good length to be able to place it a few feet away from other objects to avoid fire risk. Overall, I recommend this item. I purchased it through Amazon with my Prime membership. I bought it on a Wednesday and received it on Friday.

I bought this heater for work because I work in a very cold office. The heater works well enough, but it is noisier than the other reviews suggested. I guess it is quiet enough for the home, but not for a quiet office. It's also not very stable and falls over really easily. I will keep this one, but if I have to buy a space heater again, I probably won't buy this one.
