Just used for the first time at our son's soccer game and was surprised how much heat this unit produces. We had several people come sit behind us to try and warm up (which it didn't do) but put out enough heat that within 15 minutes, we turned the unit to low and were able to take our coats off.
Based on the amount of propane used, we should be able to get close to the 30+ hours of operation claimed by the manufacturer. You do need to be directly in front of the heater in an outdoor environment. I would think it would also work indirectly for instance in a garage setting.
Impressed with the performance for the price. 4/5 stars.

Buy Fahrenheat PT268 Industrial Grade with Thermostat, 240-volt
I just bought one of these to replace an identical one I'd purchased 20-25 years ago. The motor finally wore out after nearly daily use (during the cold season, which can be fairly long and occasionally severe in Oregon). It just quietly sits there, the thermostat maintaining whatever temp you like, year after year. It can really throw out the heat, too. I hardly ever have to turn the thermostat up over 1/4 of the way.
I'm going to find a replacement motor for my old one and keep it as a spare or put it in a different room. Probably be good for another 20 years.
It's just so nice to find something of quality that just works nowadays. I highly recommend this heater.
As some of the other reviewers have noted, the fans are a bit noisy. The thermostat works well and seems to hold temperatures well. These units put out a lot of heat! I'm satisfied.

We have done over our basement several years ago into a lage family room. We have a wood burning stove there and have tried several small electric heaters when not wanting to build a fire. We purchased this heater with a 220 supply line. It works very well. It heats up the room quickly and then when you turn the thermostat down it only comes on as needed. It sits on carpet that does NOT heat up. I saw one that a friend had and he was very impressed so we are trying it. Have not yet received my electic bill since it has been installed only for about a week. Rochester New YorkBest Deals for Fahrenheat PT268 Industrial Grade with Thermostat, 240-volt
I got two of these about 15 years ago for heating a garage, and they were 10 years old when i got them. Mine are branded Rival but they are the same heater as this one. After 25 years one of the motors burned out this season, so I'm down to one. All in all I'd have to say that 25 years of winter operation in a dusty garage is pretty good performance. As some of the other reviewers have noted, the fans are a bit noisy. The thermostat works well and seems to hold temperatures well. These units put out a lot of heat! I'm satisfied.
Honest reviews on Fahrenheat PT268 Industrial Grade with Thermostat, 240-volt
The things I like best about the Fahrenheat PT268 are the industrial look and the fact that it produces a good amount of heat. I use it for my main heat source in my 950 square foot home, along with smaller 120 volt heaters to help warm other areas. Even though the fan is a little noisier than others I've tried, I can overlook that for the money I save by not operating my furnace. What I dislike most about the heater is the thermostat; it just doesn't have enough sensitivity to maintain a constant temperature. I don't care for a 3 degree fluctuation in the temperature. The manufacturer seriously needs to consider adding a digital thermostat to make this a great heater.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Fahrenheat PT268 Industrial Grade with Thermostat, 240-volt
worked very good. Keeps a large 2 car uninsulated garage in houston tx about 20 degrees above out side temp.Sunday, September 21, 2014

This heater works really well for heating our living room. We found out it is running our electric bill up sky high. It was supposed to be "energy efficient" and lower you heating bills. Well, it has done just the opposite for us. I would not recommend this heater if you are worried about your electric bill.
I called the company and found out that Lakewood was bought out by a company that doesn't even know they used to carry this heater. Forget about support--these heaters aren't even listed in their "no longer supported" system files.
They were imported from China for Lakewood. If they are still being made, I wasn't able to find the company that supplies them to the US.
It saves me money and it heats up 3 rooms at a time. This is truely a very good investment..... I give it ***** 5 stars.

This heater was great--quiet and quick to heat up, but for no reason that I can tell, it stopped heating (worked fine yesterday, not today--nothing happened to it, it wasn't even moved). I purchased this heater on October 21 of 2009. When it worked, it worked great. Heated quickly, quietly and effectively. It was used for most of our winter, NOV, DEC, JAN, and FEB. I started using it again this month, Nov 2010. It quit working, it just wouldn't heat up. I discovered what at first looked like just a malfunctioning tip-over switch since the heater would turn on when tilted to an angle, which would usually result in it turning off. Upon closer inspection I noticed a spot near the bottom of the control side, near a label, that appeared to be melting from behind. I made the decision to dismantle the side of the heater to get a look at the wiring. That's when I discovered that the power cord lead to the tip over sensor had failed causing it to overheat. Due to the close quarters the wire had been pressed against the plastic side and as it over heated it began melting the plastic. There was a black charred indentation where the wire had been pressed against the side. I am lucky that the heater failed before a fire could erupt.Honest reviews on Lakewood EP-2000 Ultra-Thin Dual-Power 1000/1500-Watt Flat-Panel

So i received this unit the other day, and given the fact that i have other units similar to this, i'll try to compare this to my other units.
The unit seems well built and strong. Installation with a preexisting sleeve was a breeze. The box came with ALL the vents and insulation foam you need to install the unit. The instructions are easy to follow and simple. My only issue is really the heat test drive, it wasn't turning on right away but that could be related to the temperature of the room, it is still summer. I will update the review once i can use the heat in the colder months.
So far the unit is working great. I live in an apartment in Philadelphia which gets an awful amount of direct day light, so my condo gets warm quick. On top of that, my living room is open into the kitchen, so a small cooking mission with a boiling water will make the temperature to go through the roof.
The square-footage of the living room and kitchen combined is about 380sqft. I know you may think that 12000 BTU is too much (almost double) of what you need, but ALWAYS factor in your room traffic. with the kitchen at work and having 8 people over, the temperature increases by a lot and a 8000-10000BTU unit will leave you gasping for cold air. Hence the reason i went for a bigger unit and i am glad that i did.
This unit also removes a comfortable amount of humidity from the air which is also great to keep the temperatures low. I measured the kWh usage and with the unit on COOL, it goes through about 0.11 kWh which is very much the same amount my 9000BTU Friedrich unit uses and that unit really sucked at cooling the same room before (it is now demoted to the bedroom).
This unit also has more fan speed settings and the remote control doubles as the temperature sensor which you can place further away in the middle of the room for better temperature control.
This unit + a ceiling fan will certainly lower your bill and keeps the room cool (i get a lot of day light!). So far i'm happy with it. we will see how it can heat the room at the same time in the winter.
ALSO: this unit with COOL only option had great reviews and was the main reason i picked it, since my unit adds heat to the same cool-only unit. Double check the dimensions! the order it is posted in the description is not correct.
The price was also great, compared to the 9000 BTU Friedrich (this was cheaper with more BTU and options). Do the installation yourself and its a winner.

This blanket worked for a week and then the electronics croaked. I had electric blankets that lasted for over 20 years so I had tossed the paperwork so I guess a return is outta the question. I have tried a reorder hoping I just got a fluke but will hold on to the new paperwork and get a refund for sure if this next one turns out to be a turd like the first. Most of the reviews are better than mine so I suspect a fluke, just "one of those things", so take this review with a grain of salt until I review the next one.
You're better off getting a real blanket or quilt instead of this. Just do a google search on the terms "sunbeam electric blanket flashing" for a myriad of reports from similarly dissatified customers.
So I waited and waited til Christmas, figuring it was the perfect gift...and it probably would have been had it heated up to an acceptable temperature! He's had it on for about 8 hours now on high and it isn't even warm. I thought maybe he was crazy (ok, I know he's crazy but that's neither here nor there), so I got under it and it's really disappointing. I'll be returning this one ASAP and buying him a new one. It stinks to be a kid (13) and not have a present work...then again, it stinks even more when you buy a gift and then have to ship it all over the country to get it returned. ;)
If you're looking for an electric blanket that works, keep movin' on. Isn't much to see here except a still-shivering boy.
I don't leave the blanket turned on all night. I use it mainly to heat the bed for 10-15 minutes before retiring. If I didn't know better, I'd swear it keeps on heating very gently anyway. This has been the year without a summer here (San Diego), so I've used the blanket almost every night since it arrived.
It would have been nice to read the care instructions before purchase. Sunbeam says to not use a commercial dryer, use a home dryer for only a few minutes, then dry the blanket on a clothesline. What if you have access only to a commercial (coin-op) dryer, and don't have a clothesline? The solution was to dry at very low temperature until almost dry, then put it on the bed. Doesn't seem to have hurt it any.
Do I recommend this product? You bet! And the best part is, it's made in the US!

Not thrilled with the blanket. I got this as a Christmas present for my son because his bedroom is about 15* cooler than the rest of the house which is not real good when you live in Colorado. The poor kid sleeps with jeans, socks, and usually a sweatshirt on as well as 4 blankets. A lot of reviewers have stated that this hot plate does not get warm enough to keep your coffee hot. I disagree, but also think I know why they are having that experience. How well this warmer works is extremely sensitive to the shape of your coffee mug, in particular the way that the bottom is. I did some controlled experiments to determine how much heat this warmer puts into a liquid in a cup and found as much as 30 degrees of variation between different mugs of the same or similar material.
The bottom line, is that any hotplate style coffee warmer depends on maximum surface area contact with the bottom of your mug. If you have a mug that is broad and flat at the bottom, filling the heating surface of the warmer, it will work great. If you mug is very narrow at the bottom or arches up so that only the edge is touching, the heater cannot be as effective.
You should either buy a different mug, or forego this energy wasting method altogether, in favor of a well insulated stainless steel vacuum mug like the ones from Contigo. Personally, I like the taste of coffee best out of a real mug, so I continue to use this warmer, just with a broad based mug.
Update 11/21/2010: Several times now, the power light has gone off but if I jiggle it a tad bit it comes back on. It only does this once in a while but I am downgrading it to 3 stars. It still heats really well but if I have further problems I will let you know.
11/25/2010: It is becoming more sensitive to staying on and I am not sure how much longer it's gonna last!! Down grading to 2 stars instead of 1 because when it works, it does a good job.
12/17/2010: Becoming even more difficult to get it to stay on. This is a piece junk....don't buy!

This little device has been satisfactory for my uses. I place my ceramic cup of coffee on it and the coffee remains warm but does not get hot and lose its taste. My only dislike is the switch because I don't like roller switches and I thought, from the illustrations, that what turned out to be a red light, was the on/off switch. Overall, recommended by this buyer/user.Honest reviews on Mug Warmer Mini Hot Plate Keeps Drink Perfect Temp

I've petty well worn out my cup warmer and I got this one mainly because it looked compact and also because of the price. It's ok but the on/off switch is in the cord and I just don't like that. I can't use it for work because I don't have a way to place the cord to get to the switch so I now have a cup warmer at home to use by my chair. That's pretty handy, keeps my coffe nice and hot and the cord can dangle down and be reached with no problem. It worked out well after all, but I wouldn't buy it again. It arrived in good condition and within the specified time so I have no problem with the seller.Tuesday, March 18, 2014

Looks well constructed, nice design and backed by what I thought was a good brand name. I unpacked the first one and the handle fell off (glued to glass door with a heat resistant glue.) I exchanged it for another one. The timer would not turn off. Regardless of the setting, the timer would tick down to the "light" toast setting and stop. It could not automatically turn off. The case of the toaster also gets extremely hot, and the entire unit emits a chemical/plastic smell, which may go away with time. Further research indicated that the unit did not appear to be UL listed. I returned it to the store within 24 hours. The customer service department indicated they get many returned. Avoid.
This toaster oven toasts incredibly well. Incredibly. Well. In fact, it will toast your entire kitchen. With fire. This toaster oven actually takes bread and turns it into fire. It is a magical machine, full of mystery and wonder. If you love fire and toast, then this is the appliance for you. If you like to stay warm by the glow of a fire, then this is the appliance for you.
How to use:
1. Get fire insurance.
2. Put bread in toaster.
3. Extinguish. (Not with water though, that causes other problems, including, but not limited to, your toast being soggy)
It's pretty easy to use, except for step 1 which requires the use of a phone, which Black & Decker does not make, which is probably good because I don't like fire to be too close to my ears.
The con of this toaster oven is that it catches on fire.
The pro of this toaster oven is that it catches on fire.*
*Note this is a benefit only if you are a fire enthusiast. Otherwise, this toaster only has cons.
This toaster is not suitable for children or pets.
This toaster is not suitable if your kitchen contains anything flammable, such as furniture.
This toaster only comes in white but will turn black or brown after a few uses, so don't worry about the lack of color choices. Black matches everything.
The oven door does not close very easily.
It has a blue light, I guess that's cool.
The timer ticks. It sounds like this: tick, tick, tick, tick, tick. Ding. WOOOOOSHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
And then EEEEEKKKKK FIIIRREEEE!!!! PUT IT OUT PUT IT OUT BUT WAIT FIRST LET ME TAKE A PICTURE SO I CAN POST IT TO MY FACEBOOK.
This toaster oven was purchased almost 2 years ago.
The knob fell off, and the rubber feet on the underside also fell out. We simply replaced it for the same model.
No problems whatsoever with the new one, except the rubber feet kept falling off.
About 6 months ago, the top heating element stopped working. We have been using it as is, but once again we are in the market for a new toaster oven.
I would like to mention we have been using B & D toaster ovens for over 20 years; the very first one lasted over 11 years.I expect Black and Decker products to be faultless, and to last a lifetime. Over time, I have seen B & D using cheaper parts ie, the knobs will be poorly made, handle not as sturdy, something else falling off, poor construction.
It also is anoying that the crumb tray does not come out it just swings down on hinges so you have to pick up the entire oven to empty it. I expected better from Black & Decker, which I had thought was a reputable brand.

I had a B&D toaster oven for years and therefore decided to stay with the brand. WHAT A MISTAKE. Purchased from Target. This is the worst thing I have ever purchased. I've used it twice and it's going back today. Baked fine but the toast is an issue. I first set the bagel to "Stay Warm" at 150 degrees. Because the knob is evenly shaped at both ends I was set at 450 degrees. Almost a fire. My second attempt was toast at medium and the entire glass clouded over and the inside white metal is now brown. It looks like I've had it for years. Back it goes! Took it back to Target and they graciously refunded my money. Ironically, sitting on the floor behind the counter was another one.Monday, February 24, 2014

I purchased this because it has the ability to heat and cool and dehumidify using a heat pump. I plan to use it as a very powerful dehumidifier that I can use to occasionally heat / cool my basement. I got the portable unit so I could unhook it and take it to other homes to help with dehumidifying carpets after steam cleaning and flooding.
I was hoping that the unit could be permanently installed and that I would never have to deal with the hoses again but it turns out that for the functions to work correctly you need to connect the hoses differently.
For each mode there are different ways to hook up the hoses in the back.
a. For air conditioning mode both hoses are attached to the window adapter plate.
b. For fan mode it doesn't matter how the hoses are connected.
c. For dehumidify mode both hoses are removed from the unit and you need to install the provided covers on the window adapter plate.
d. For heating mode you should disconnect the input hose and put the provided cover over the window adapter plate. I think that if the temperature outside doesn't get below 50 degrees that you could leave the input hose attached and that the unit would perform well.
As a result of these hose hookups the efficiencies gained by having 2 hoses only apply to the cooling mode. The heating mode will only use one hose and as a result create negative pressure in your home and pull colder outside air into structure if the home gets drafty it might be a good idea to open the lowest window in an unused room (basement) in the home a little bit to counter-act this pressure.
Where I live the temperatures fluctuate a lot so I can see myself switching the hoses around frequently in the spring and fall.
The hoses that run from the back of the unit to the window are about 5 inches in diameter and with the appropriate 5 to 6 inch adapter you can hook it up to longer pieces of 6 inch flexible HVAC tubing.
Here is where it gets interesting for use as a tool... This is a very powerful unit. When you put the unit in a 70 degree room and put it in Heating mode the exhaust hose pumps out air that is about 42 degrees. And when you put it in that same 70 degree room and turn on Cooling mode the exhaust hose puts out air that is about 140 degrees. If you connect HVAC tubing to the exhaust pipe you suddenly have the ability to focus a huge amount of very hot or very cold air on a specific spot or space.
The heat function does generate some condensation. there is a pump and a small tube to help remove the condensation. This pump works best if the unit is on a completely level surface. This is a great feature that keeps you from having to constantly drain the unit while it is in heating mode.
When it arrived it was obvious that it had been handled roughly, the box was dented on the bottom, one of the casters on the bottom was broken and two screws inside were broken off and rolling around in the base of the unit. I think this was the delivery company's fault and since none of the screws seemed to be in critical locations and I had an extra caster I decided to just let it be and I fixed it on my own. There are stress marks in the plastic on the bottom of the unit but it does not leak. I did not complain or try to contact anyone yet. I simply don't have time to deal with this and I just see this sort of damage as result of having big products shipped. I did have to disassemble the unit to retrieve the broken screws and it looked to me as if everything inside was thoughtfully laid out and connected.
It has the much needed double vents so that both air in and air out come from outside. Units that do not have two vents pull hot humid air in through your home's walls causing a lose in efficiency. The ducting and window inserts are sound. They are not airtight, but that can be fixed with insulation foam.
The unit itself has a digital thermostat that is controlled by the display and buttons on top of the unit or by the included remote. All parts feel solid and high quality.
So far it is doing a nice job of keeping my entire 800 sq ft condo at around 77 degrees despite Houston, TX heat and humidity. I will update when I test out its heating capability.
After one December's usage, it seems to have saved about 250 kWh over the electric baseboard, which means it will pay for itself in a year or less at PGE Tier 3 prices.
It has one of the dumbest user interfaces I've ever encountered -I actually sent one back before realizing I hadn't understood what was happening. Not only will it not heat beyond 77 degrees -it silently deactivates the temperature adjustments once the temperature has reached 77 degrees. Combined with what's either a badly calibrated thermostat, or a design that subjects the thermostat to the local heat in the unit, we've run it up to 77 just to get to 70 in the room.
Incidentally, I've got to praise Amazon's second line customer support. I ran into the problem about 35 days after purchase. An Amazon email droid refused to accept a return, but a really nice human being on the phone understood my problem and arranged an exchange. It was excellent, intelligent and understanding customer service that probably saved Amazon a customer.

This is a portable A/C-Dehumidifier-Heater unit. The description says 13,500 BTU. I'm giving this 4 stars because I'm not impressed with the amount of heat it produces when in that mode. That said, the air conditioning part is the BEST! Once you figure out its thermostat is about 5 degrees above the real temperature in the room, it cools my 20' x 20' bedroom in less than 5 minutes. Waiting for the next electric bill, but I don't think this uses that many kilowatts. Actually, I really don't care being cool in this add-on room is worth any price. Now if only the heater worked better...I'll stick to my present heater that does the job and is inexpensive to run.Honest reviews on Friedrich PH14B 13500 btu - 115 volt - 9.5 EER ZoneAire series
Great quality! The only thing it doesn't have is a removable condensation bucket. But for the Cooling and heating mode you don't need one. So you only need to hook up a hose for the dehumidifier. Works great cools my 750 sqft apt.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Friedrich PH14B 13500 btu - 115 volt - 9.5 EER ZoneAire series
This is a product I'd love to like. I'm using it as a heat pump in mild Northern California weather, replacing electric baseboard heating. It puts out a good amount of heat and will probably be far more efficient than the baseboards. The second unit I received seems to be off by a few degrees on its thermostat, but I can live with that. It's noisy, but given the amount of air it has to move through a narrow duct in order to transfer heat efficiently, I can't really complain about that. After one December's usage, it seems to have saved about 250 kWh over the electric baseboard, which means it will pay for itself in a year or less at PGE Tier 3 prices.

I've in living room for 6 months. Look great and warm room well during winter. logs look realistic. If background looks more realistic it's even better. put a pad at bottom for easy moving it in and out to clean. Both ends have cd/DVD storage. could redesign a bigger storage. would be prefect since I have alot. Come with a black marker to hide imperfection. I did the assembling. confused w back panel but figured it out. Very heavy stand.

I don't know why Amazon.com is using a drawing of a bathroom vanity instead of a photo of this great little heat panel. Visit other sites to see what it really looks like. Photos show it as a grey panel with rounded corners. This is accurate, but what the photos don't show is that the front surface is covered with a soft, felt-like covering which adds to the warmth of this little gem. The back is just metal. It heats up quickly and silently and radiates warmth almost instantly. It would easily fit under a desk. It's hard to believe it only uses 150 watts of electricity. I like this unit better than others I've looked at, since it comes with attachable feet and the on/off switch has a red light to remind you that it's on. The switch and light are on the right side and can be easily seen from the front. I'm very pleased with it. But keep in mind, it's meant to be close to you, and it probably won't help heat up an entire room. Still, the warmth it radiates is impressive.
It works "okay" and emits a constant, small, soothing amount of heat, but does not get real warm.
I was finding myself pulling it between my legs. Then it felt much warmer. (Heat comes out both sides.)
I was sensible when I purchased it knowing that it is only 150 Watts ... there is only so much heat that a unit of that size will throw.
What I did next was the "ticket" to total and complete warmth for my feet under my desk!
After this purchase, I purchased a heated floor mat. (Foot Warmer – Cozy Toes – 18"W x 19"D x 1/2"H)
That floor mat product is excellent and gets very warm.
I now use the 2 products together and I'm extremely happy.
This heating panel is definitely better than nothing, but If I could recommend one or the other, it would be the floor mat. It emits much more heat directly to the feet.
I hope this was helpful!

Wonderful, warm, safe, uses barely any electricity, and adds just that right amount of warmth to one person (on top of normal house heating). Great if you have one person in a household who gets cold, but the other people are not cold. Great if you sit at a desk all day and want a heat source near you that is safe. Will help heat up a very small bedroom easily.Best Deals for Sengoku SP-160 Mini Panel Electric Heater. 150 Watt

This is a great little heater if you need to heat a small enclosed space or simply provide some extra warmth to an area. I use this heater for my birds. I was forced to move them into the basement and this heater allowed me to do that without compromising their health. The birds can bathe, relax, and play without getting too cold or too hot. There is no temperature adjustment but, really, it doesn't need it. The front gets hot but not enough to really catch fire or burn someone right away. Although, leaving your hand there for a few seconds might result in a minor burn. The lighted on/off switch is a nice touch. Overall, I like it so far... we'll see how long it lasts.Monday, December 2, 2013

Bought this heater through Northern tool. It functions well and really puts out the heat. It's a small unit and really easy to move around the house where heating is needed. I like the removable fuel tank and the ignition system.
Smells just a little bit upon start up and shutdown, but other that that, it really burns clean and almost odor free. Use only fresh K1 kerosene in this heater, dry burn the wick once every 5 tanks of fuel and the wick should last you 3-4 heating seasons. Just make sure your kerosene does not have water in it. A trick I learned a long time ago is to add 1/2 tsb of ISO-HEET fuel line deicer and water remover to each gallon of kerosene. The Iso-HEET alcohol will absorb any water and burn it off without messing up the wicks ability to wick up the kerosene.
I purchased kerosene at a local gas station, undyed was $4 a gal. (here in TN.) Local WMart sells kero for $10 a gal.
I like the removable tank, seems well made. filled it up, let sit for about a hr. (per instructions) and lit it up outside to burn off any residues. brought it in and adjusted flame to lowest setting, no flames on top.
the heater puts off a nice amount of heat, for it's size. and no stinky smells like heaters I used many years ago. I like it!
I'll post a pic of what my cat thinks about it.
In my home, I used a small Enviroheat 11000BTU kerosene heater. A combination of the hand crank and impossible wick replacement finally lead it to the junk heap. And this is the only modern "floor model" kerosene stove I've seen. You'll find three different manufacturers all put their name on this same model stove. Sengoku is actually the original maker....all other just import it and put their brand sticker on it.
When you first fill up the cartridge tank, you will notice a dark oil already inside there. This is normal and mixes with kerosene fine. I assume it's just something to keep the tank from drawing in moisture as it sits for long periods.
Be sure to let the first full cartridge tank set for about an hour. This lets the wick soak up the kerosene fully and evenly for the first time. The igniting method is just great. I've used the round crank on older heaters all my life. This simple "lever" style igniter is just great. Push the slider all the way down, you'll hear a buzz and see the stove ignite. Then simply let go. The slider will return the the "high" position. A slight push up and the flame will go 1/4" down to the "low" position.
It puts out quite a lot of heat. Moreso than my previous 11000 BTU I think. But now this leads me to the only "drawback" of this stove. If you've had experience with kerosene heaters, you'll know that some have a blower built in. Other models like the Alladin could be outfitted with an external blower attatched to the top of the stove. The Sengoku doesn't come with any internal blower. I had planned on using one such external blower on it. But just below the top "shelf" of the heater, just above the lamp, there's some kind of metal (carbon?) plate. This plate dampens most of the heat going to the top of the heater.
Now, on one hand this is good. Keeps all the heat coming from the front of the heater. And while the top is still hot,it won't melt your skin off if you touch it like older heaters would. But the major drawback is an external blower, putting a fan behind the unit, or anything else like that has little effect. But nowhere does the manufacturer say that you should put accessories or blowers on their unit. Nor do they claim to have an internal blower. So this "drawback" is more about my general expectations than a fault of the product itself.
The backside of the heater is cool. The sides are even touchable, although the front edge of the sides are a little warm. But from the handles back, you're cool to the touch. I would be careful not to put this in a "tight" place. At least leave a little room on the sides. It really just begs to be pushed up against the wall and between your furniture b/c it's only about as wide as a surround sound receiver. But do be careful with your placement.
It has a manufacturer's warranty and contact information card is the first thing you see when you open the box. Every part number is found inside the manual. I know Ace carries the wick for this heater b/c they sell this heater with a different brand name for 20 bucks more. I'm not sure how the part numbers match up, but they definitely have it. Search Ace's website for kerosene heaters and you'll see this one.
The manual also has very detailed info on wick maintenance so please read it. It needs to be done with every new wick at least a few times, or you'll have to change it every season. So far I'm very pleased with it's performance and price.

Got it for $89 bucks + shipping from Amazon. Arrived, very timely. Does everything it says it does, but gives off a fair amount of fumes. Would work great for a garage, workshop, or emergency use, but can't see how you can use it "semi-regularly" in your house. A carbon monoxide detector is a must. It's "fair". Update: After the initial break-in period, there's no smell at all. My CO detector says "zero". Heats my entire 1 bedroom apartment great. I recommend this heater. Next time, I'll be more patient when reviewing something!Best Deals for Sengoku CTN-110 KeroHeat 10,000 BTU Portable Radiant Kerosene

You don't see many of these heaters anymore these days. I grew up with three Aladdins in my family. Two still work after 32 yrs at my parents place. But no stoves or parts are made anymore.
