I was a little hesitant ordering this knowing that it wasn't a GE-manufactured part. However, it seems to be constructed nearly identically, and the dual-element design (over the original single-element) seems to be more effective during the defrost cycle. I watched a youtube video (search for 'Refrigerator Defrost Heater GE WR51X10101' on youtube) in order to verify my install. It was pretty straightforward, and indeed the dual-element heater fits with no problems in place of the single-element heater. So far, so good. I'll update my review in case of early failure.

I thought that this went well with the WR51x10101 -but it is really not helpful. Maybe a good part for a repairman but not helpful for a home owner.

No problem. Went right in and works.

Thawed the ice out with a hair dryer, rerouted the wire to right side and plugged it in.

GE should have used this part in the beginning. Everything was in the box to install and it is working great. Installation was easy and can be done by anyone with a screwdriver and a hair dryer, need it to defrost the coils.

These heaters are effective. Yes, you can't place anything in front of them, but unlike the long skinny baseboard heaters, they don't take up so much wall space. They are a little noisy, but they don't have to be on for very long.

I have these heaters in my house and am changing them out for Convect-air. These heaters are VERY expensive to run and as one customer mentioned, they do not put out more heat than a hair dryer. I definetely do not recomend this product

King Electrical 1000-Watt Electric Forced-Air Wall Heater #W2410

My electrician installed this wall heater and wired it with 220 wiring and I turned it on expecting this forced air heater to heat my 90 cubic ft shower area. After waiting for some 5 minutes for the expected heat my electrician who had his hand near the discharge area exclaimed, " my dog puts out more heat panting than that". I was very disappointed and ask him to try it with 110 wiring. The results were the same. If I stood with my bare feet below the warm air discharge I have to admit my toes were toasty.

I was surprised that Amazon would carry a product of such low quality since I have been very satisfied with the many products I have purchased in the past.

This is an attractive unit that is easy to move around and safe to touch when the heat is on. I have tried many 1500 watt space heaters. The others tend to warm only close to the heater and are very expensive to run! I have it in my bedroom (150sf with 12 foot high ceilings). Set on low, it heats the whole room evenly with comfortable heat for very little money. I ran it every day for 4 hours in the morning during the winter and sometimes all night. When I compare with last years bills for the same months, the additional cost to run this heater was only around $4/month! After using it for two winters, I just purchased a second heater for my larger living room space of 500sf with 12 foot high ceilings. With the outside temperature in the 50's, it is again warming the whole room evenly while maintaining my living room temperature at 70 degrees.

A couple of minor issues to mention: First, it has a fan. I don't find it noisy, but it does make some background noise. And second, it has an initial smell that goes away quickly. I am very happy with this heater!

Have been searching for something to work. It takes the chill out of the air; it doesn't run all the time; it's quiet, small, and easy to roll! We are so relieved.

Have the Electric Fireplace; have a variety of space heaters; all either are limited to what area they heat and cost a lot; or just plain don't work. This is so nice!

I first saw this heater in a cabin I stayed at in Canada. When I needed a little heater for my living space I looked this up to get the information on the internet. It looks nice, I like the settings that makes it easy to use, it easily heats my space and has great safty features.

Honest reviews on Dr. Infrared Heater DR968 Portable Infrared Space Heater

Heater worked great the first several times I turned it on. But then the heater would only heat if I was cycling the mode button. When I stopped the heat would turn off but the fan would still run. I called customer service and they had me take the front plastic panel off and loosen two screws and presto that did the trick. It has worked great ever since.

I would prefer it would be slightly bigger than it is, but it puts out good heat, so it does the job.

I am so glad I finally purchased this little gem! It works great and is very quiet.

It has provided the warmth we haven't received from our heat pump. We placed it

in between our family room and kitchen, where we spend most of our time, and it

heats the space nicely. I just recommended it to my Dad for his condo.

Sorry to read another reviewer who had problems with his Model 157. Mine has worked perfectly for several months now. I chose the Model 157 rather than the Model 154 in spite of that reviewers comments. I'm glad I did.

UPDATE: It has been working perfectly for over a year now!

I installed it above the open stall of my elderly mother's doorless shower directly in the rising mist and high humidity. I run it (and another 1250 watt portable heater) for several minutes before her shower and total running time each use is probably about 30-45 minutes. It has never failed and the (large) bathroom warms up a LOT. Haven't measured the temperature, but it gets "toasty" in there (and as humid as a sauna.) I was worried the high temperature and moisture would be an issue, but they have not been a problem. In other words, it gets plenty warm in there without tripping any high-temperature safety feature in the unit.

I chose the Model 157 because of the heavy-duty element. It takes a couple minutes to fully heat up to red-hot, but that's fine. I think it will last a lot longer than the thin spiral wire element of the Model 154. In my opinion, it's well worth the extra cost.

I bought this item to replace one that had gone bad after 40 years. It was an 85 year old lady friend of mine and she said I was a 'gift from God' after I put it in. This was the easiest bathroom appliance I have ever had to istall. A monkey could put this in. a silicone grommett or washer for the screw holding the screen on could cut down on some chatter/vibration I heard. Other than that it works great.

Best Deals for Broan Model 157 Low-Profile Solid Wire Element Ceiling Heater

This heater is great...it really cranks out the heat. I live in an older house, and replaced the Broan model 158. However, I've learned the hard way that the thermal switch on this unit is not reliable. Once the unit turns itself off via the thermal switch, it won't come back on. I've went through three thermal units before I learned my lesson. With the 158 the thermal switch would reset itself and I would be able to use the unit again. So if you really want this unit, buy a timer switch to go with it.

If I had to do it over again, I wish I would have gone with another 158. It worked fine on the old fashioned toggle switch.

Honest reviews on Broan Model 157 Low-Profile Solid Wire Element Ceiling Heater

I bought this to replace an older Broan that wasn't turning anymore.

Size was much smaller, I ended up having to re-paint the ceiling because the old color showed through around it.

Had to enlarge the fixing holes to get it to fit on the old fitting as well.

The fan doesn't push air over the heating elements, just over the back of the plate behind it, so it's not a fast blasting warm up.

Price was right though.

The Broan Model 157 was purchased to replace one that had been in the bathroom for about 45 years. Identical in looks to the original. It was properly installed with the correct 15 amp circuit, but has shut off several times, and blown the fuse. I am not sure why, but will continue to monitor the situation before returning for a different model. Therefore I cannot give a complete satisfactory report on the new heater.

Review of Proctor-Silex 34101 Fifth Burner

Proctor-Silex 34101 Fifth Burner
Customer Ratings: 4 stars

We got this to replace a burner bought off the shelf. It died within the first week. I have been much happier with the results for this burner as a replacement for our dead stove. In fact, it heats up faster that our stove used to. Produces good heat quickly and has worked well in almost all situations.

The only issue I have is with what seems to be an overtemp safety because it will cycle itself on and off. A pot will get hot quickly but it also seems to senses that the pot is still there and hot, and decides to take a rest or turner off the burner for 15-30 sec while things in your pot stop boiling. It seems to come back quickly to reheat again, but cooking with an even hear is lost as the burner cycles on/off.

Cons:

-As was mentioned from the other reviews, this burner annoyingly cycles off and on. I have to unplug and re-plug to turn it on again. You cannot disable it. For me, this is the biggest deal breaker for this product.

-There is nothing in the manual to show the features and specs except safety precautions.

-You cannot use a large pan on it.

-Nothing to stabilize the pan but the actual heating coil.

-You have to use heavy pans with good heat conductor at the bottom (like the copper bottoms pans). If you use the aluminum teflon type, it will not sufficiently heat to fry anything.

Pros:

-Like the portability, size and weight.

-Very affordable.

I saw this on HGTV in some trendy house renovation shows. And, I did not know what it was but it looked really cool. And, when I saw it on later, I realized that this is an ancient kind of product we all are familiar with.

My excuse to buy this was that my house is under the hammer and we decided to chuck away the old gas stove. And, that means we can only eat frozen meals heated up in the microwave or this coil burner.*w*

Unlike some other reviewers expressed, I have only used this for boiling pastas, or stir-fried dishes. And, it was just amazing that how this $15 burner can cook as well and fast as my GE electric stove in my other condo. I have cooked some Chicken Soup for 4 hours one day, which turned out great as well, so I don't agree with other people's discontent myself.

I just wish I could put 4 of these coil burners when the house is complete instead of purchasing a couple of thousand halogen cook top. At least, a young couple on HGTV did it in their compact loft condo this way. with the coil covers, very clever! I think it looks good enough to keep it on the counter top.

The only flaw is that the spill plate under the heat coil leaves the burn marks from cooking if you don't wipe them immediately. But, then again, I could buy another without thinking! A very good value.

Honest reviews on Proctor-Silex 34101 Fifth Burner

This is an excellent piece of cooking equipment! I love it!!

I purchased this for my travel to India... I rented a room at a place in India and wanted to be able to prepare quick meals in the comfort of my room, including tea... well this electric burner heats up quickly and safely ... just like my stove at home. It is small enough to easily store away.

Now that I am back in the US form India travel I sometimes use it when other stove elements at home are in use.. so the burner helps things move along faster and the best part is that it works so wonderfully and just like a stove element... Its a must have tool... especially for single folks :-) .. or if you move around a lot on travels away from home..

I shopped at SEVEN stores for a 5th burner type appliance. All I could find were warmers or products that looked as if they would not even boil water. All were priced much higher than this Proctor-Silex Fifth Burner.

This heats fast and the coils actually turn red like a regular electric stove. We got this for use while remodeling our kitchen and so I have used it daily for almost 2 months. I am very pleased with its performance and would recommend it as an efficent, no nonsense little appliance.

Whynter Eco-Friendly 12,000 BTU Dual Hose Portable Air Conditioner, Frost White (ARC-12SD)

Had a need to cool a 380 sq ft study/workroom at our summer home with day time temperatures between 72F-88F. Central air conditioning available but extremely wasteful in a 2500sq ft house. Refused to consider window given prior bad experience (let's just say it took a long fall). This would be my 2nd Whynter portable in less than 10 years. My first one was an odd looking unit that worked wonderfully for years before we gave it away when we had to relocate to overseas.

The shape and design of this unit was agreeable and generally understated. The only hint of technology was the display LCD band that runs along the top half of the a/c. Standard size for a portable and a hint bulkier given the dual hose design. Although termed portable, it is not something you can carry around the house with one hand.

Installation was uncomplicated and the user manual was adequately helpful in completing the window exhaust setup. Understanding the display indications was initially confusing but a quick flip of the user manual was enough to get me comfortable. Remote control is simple and good to at least 15 feet away.

I powered it up during a warm afternoon. I was duly impressed. Sometimes, powerful is probably not the right word. The unit had sufficient fan speed but the actual coolness of the air from the unit was what made the difference. It was exceptionally cold. I was comfortable in a matter of minutes and had actually feeling cold in less than an hour. It's relatively quiet and I've not been bothered but it whatsoever. Several weeks in and it has been performing to expectations.

Whynter Eco-Friendly 12,000 BTU Dual Hose Portable Air Conditioner with Heater, Frost White (ARC-12SDH)

We bought this back in September and took it out again recently for the heater function.

Nicely designed unit that has a clean modern look. The display is a concealed LCD band that is simple and understandable without an overload information and meaningless statistics. Although easy to roll around, be sure to get help when lifting up above a foot. The window kit was good quality and overall setup was considerably easy. Just hookup the hoses to the kit and fit the kit snugly into the window opening.

Cools wonderfully. I use it specifically in the baby's room and occasionally in the study. The dual hose design helps with the energy efficiency and overall cooling or heating out. Both rooms are about 18x18 and this unit has no problem cooling down a 95F room to a comfortable temp in less than 30 mins. I'm surprised that the cooling throughput of this unit is actually 20%-30% faster than another 14000 BTU that I have. Nothing scientific but even my wife notices the significant difference.

The heating option is not for heavy duty heating but it works perfectly as a spot heater when you don't want to crank central heat up too much.

To sum it up, this is a surprisingly efficient unit albeit slightly bulky but gives great bang for the buck.

Cooling: 5 out of 5

Noise: 4 out of 5

Setup: 2 out of 5

Maintenance: 3 out of 5

Cooling: 5 out of 5

This AC unit is used in my office on the 12th floor of an older office building in downtown Cleveland, Ohio. In the case of this older building the HVAC is less than consistent, but the windows do open. Last summer temperatures in my office reached the high 90s on some days. As we are a business formal firm the sauna-like environment in the office was not conducive to wearing a suit and achieving any reasonable productivity. This year, with this AC unit in use for the past three weeks, the office has remained a comfortable 70F with low humidity even on the hottest day we have had yet this year (93F).

Noise: 4 out of 5

The fan and compressor on this AC unit are a bit noisy, but I think that the noise level is to be expected as the unit has excellent air flow and cools & dehumidifies my office (about 200 sq ft) quickly while helping cool the rest of the suite (about 875 sq ft) too. With the AC unit running on high I have been able to speak on the telephone two exceptions only twice have I had to switch the AC unit to a lower fan setting in order to hear the other caller(s) on the telephone. This with the unit about five feet from my desk. I have not had any issues with conducting face to face conversations in my office with the AC unit running on high.

Setup: 2 out of 5

Setup did not go was well as I had hoped. The dual hose system is nice and connects to the AC unit very well. However, the screws provided to connect the hose assemblies to the "window kit" were worthless. The hose assemblies popped out immediately. Also the window kit covers a maximum of 36 inches my office window opening is 42.5 inches. With a little effort I was able to fix these issues. I used #6 stainless steel bolts, nuts and lock washers (all available at Home Depot) to attach the hose assemblies to the window kit that was supplied with the unit. I also attached a Lexan (Plexiglas) "extension" to the window kit (also with #6 stainless steel hardware) that was supplied with the unit. So the window kit works well now and has retained much of the adjustablity with which it was designed. I recommend stainless steel as the hardware will be exposed to the elements and non-stainless steel hardware will likely rust over time. The hoses are also reasonably flexible so I do not have to keep the unit directly in front of the window I use to vent the unit.

Maintenance: 3 out of 5

Although the hose assemblies are designed to detach easily from the window kit (a feature that was unaffected by my use of the stainless steel hardware) the hoses do not come off easily (or, in my experience, at all). This creates a problem if one wants to inspect or clean the hoses (say if there are insects in the hoses, etc.) as the hoses will not detach from the window kit unless the window kit is dismantled. Also there is a condensate tank in this unit (that was not clear in the description when I bought the unit) that is not easy to empty. The drain plug is all the way at the bottom of the unit at the back with less than an inch of clearance to get a pan (or whatever) under the plug in order to drain the condensate. However, today is the first day I tired to empty the condensate (I did this to see how much condensate the unit had collected the condensate warning light was not illuminated) and there was hardly any condensate in the tank after three weeks of use. I see from the description of this model on other websites that the dual hose system allows this AC unit to discharge most of the condensate to the outside via the exhaust hose and from my experience that system works very well. So hopefully draining condensate from the tank will not be an issue in the future.

I am pleased with this AC unit and would recommend the unit to others.

Honest reviews on Whynter 12,000 BTU Dual Hose Portable Air Conditioner with Heater

I am reasonably happy with the unit. It was easy to setup and cools one room quite nicely. So the negative comments I have are more like the 5% I do not like. Keeping that in perspective, the items I would like changed are as follows:

The unit is a bit noisy. 54dB vs the Sharp 43dB. The Whynter is always running with the sound increasing when the cooling unit is on. I understand the Sharp turns on and off.

The 6" plastic pipes that connect the unit to the window adapter are very robust. They are a bit tricky to hook up and quite long. I replaced them with ordinary 6" stove pipe 2 adjustable elbows and 8" of straight pipe. This allowed me to get the unit as close to the wall as possible and minimize the resistance of the pipe itself. I haven't seen any evidence of condensation.

The unit front panel is not labelled and the remote is poorly labelled. I had to keep the handbook around to see what the LEDs and remote buttons meant. After a while simple things like changing the fan speed are easy to remember. But anything else requires having the manual handy. This was very poorly done.

This has nothing to do with the unit itself, but it does not cool multiple rooms well at all. I have a bedroom and office across the hall from on another on the second floor. Getting the cool air over to other room requires a number of fans and that does not seem work very well. The temperature differential can be 5 or 8 degrees. Still trying to figure out how to fix that. So buying a portable for multiple rooms requires some additional technology.

This is the first portable air conditioner I have owned so I have nothing really to compare with. So not sure my expectations were realistic. All in all I am as happy with the Whynter as I could expect to be. The only problem I believe I have a right to be annoyed with is the remote and unit display. Cryptic.

The cooling ability is also rather impressive. I put it in my study/guest room which is about 225 or so squarefeet on a a hot evening, I would say 87F. and shortwhile later I was feeling extremely comfortable. It a slightly loud when on highspeed and is a awkward to lift vertically but other than that I am liking it plenty.

I admit, I got suckered into buying this unit because of the marketing and slick featureset. What a disappointment.

I am returning it as quickly as possible, and would probably avoid Delonghi products going forward. I was trying to get information on where to buy replacement filters from Delonghi USA (& Canada), the former did not reply to several emails (USA tech support), and the latter the Canadian support email bounced (no such mailbox). What a joke.

PROS:

Really nice & modern color scheme, graphite and silver.

Pretty blue LCD that displays everything you need to know.

Eco-friendly refrigerant

Side handles (because its very heavy)

3M Biosilver Techsystem

CONS:

VERY Noisy sounds like an old dishwasher when cooling in Water to Air mode (swishing noise, I am guessing the rotary engine cooling off using the water).

Water refilling to get optimal cooling (to get 13K BTU) is annoying & frequent (Tested on a very hot day I had to refill it every 6 hours), I would bet that most people would give up on this eventually. Without the water, this unit does 9000 BTU in air cooling.

Huge This thing is only portable due to the casters. Very bulky.

No Oscillating Louvers! The air is blown up in one direction, no choice.

No information on how (part#?) or where to buy the 3M filters that should be replaced once a year.

Heavy Perhaps I'm being picky here, but this thing is so heavy (128 lbs).

What I recommend instead: The Sharp CVP10MX, as most people here (Amazon) have had a great experience with it. I recommend you have a look.

I had a Sharp unit that finally gave out and when searching Amazon I found this new DeLonghi air conditioner with eco-friendly refrigerant. I have always liked DeLonghi products for their stylish looks and this air conditioner is no execption.

I have a metal roof with vaulted ceilings and when it gets hot the upstairs loft gets about 10* hotter than the rest of the house and since this is where I sleep I need some extra comfort. We turn it on around dinner time and put it in the turbo function that uses both water and air cooling to bring the temperature down and then when we get ready for bed we turn it down to the sleep function which is pretty quite for an air conditioner.

I like the easy to read LCD display and the super cooling with the water tank really helps get the room temperature down quickly. This is a solid unit that weighs about 130 pounds so the casters and built in handles help in moving it around. It has all the bells and whistles with 24 hour timer, auto/sleep function, turbo cooling and even dehumidifies. The R410a eco-friendly gas refrigerant was a bonus as I try to do my part to help the enviornment.

I currently own 2 other portable AC units (1 Sharp, 1 Danby...both waterless) due to the window's I have in the old house my apartment is in and this Delonghi blows the other 2 out of the water...no pun intended. I was skeptical about having to add water to this unit, but the level of performance it produces due to this is well worth it. This is now the only unit I leave on during the day for my pets while I'm at work...as long as I leave the doors to the other rooms open, it will keep my entire apartment cool even during the hottest summer days. My other 2 units couldn't produce the same results in tandem. 100% satisfied with this green machine. Gotta love Italian craftmanship!!! Anyone want to buy one of my old AC's?

I bought this air conditioner because I own a DeLonghi air conditioner which I bought in 1994, after 17 years, it still works fantastic, I have it in our guest room because it's a smaller unit but works with water just like this one but the older model with detachable water tank. After the summer season, I really clean it well, de-calcify it and it works tirelessly for 17 summers. I bought a Bosch air conditioner 5 years ago, it's as heavy this appliance but doesn't give the perfect cooling effect, it doesn't work with water just fan, and although it is supposed to cool a 45 sq.m room, it actually can just cool a small room, so it's now in the bedroom. Believe me, Bosch air conditioner is as loud as a DeLonghi although it works just with fan.

I have this DeLonghi PACW130E in our living room 52 sq.m, it really works wonder even in real hot summer days. I have to admit that it is loud, but I get used to it because it is efficient, it is quiet if the cooling is in the fan mode, so quiet that you hardly hear any noise. I don't mind filling the tank every 6-8 hours, filling the tank is easy, takes just few minutes. Since I live in Europe, there are stores selling DeLonghi accessories like filter, spare-parts, decalcifying liquid etc... The filter is expensive though.

I gave this one a 4 stars instead of 5 because it is loud. I would recommend this air conditioner to anyone who wants a real cool atmosphere in a hot summer day.

This under rug heater was purchased for an outdoor enclosure where our several semi feral cats spend cold winter nights. So far it seems to be working out wonderfully well and I'm only sorry that I didn't get one a long time ago. I hesitated due to the cost, but I'm sure I've wasted much more than it's price on heated pet beds which have not held up at all well.

My master bath is over the garage and not well insulated. It's so chilly taking a shower in the morning. We got a timer and set the Rugbuddy to warm up about 1/2 hour before my husband gets up. The bathroom is warmer. Standing on the rug really warms you up. It won't warm the room significantly but just standing on it after getting out of the shower and while getting ready is much more comfortable. I even lay my clothing out on the rug and by the time I get out of the shower they are warmed up. This is a great product!

The Honeywell heater arrived packed within its own box within an Amazon box and was well protected. Getting started was as easy as plugging it in. All the features have little icons on the heater but you may need to review the instructions once to understand the icons. Pluses: the heater begins to warm immediately. Even the low power setting seems to generate heat for a small room. The oscillating feature is virtually soundless. The timer turns off the heater within a few minutes of the setting. Minuses: While the temperature display is very easy to read, the actual temperature setting is like a toy. The heater does cycle off close to a setting but the displayed temperature is not very accurate. Also the temperature resets to 75 when the unit is turned off so your desired temperature must be reset every time the unit is turned on. Also, every button that is pressed creates an annoying "beep" that I cannot seem to turn off or decrease. Overall, this is a good basic heater suitable for smaller rooms.

I'm using this heater to help regulate temperature swings in an over air-conditioned office. You would expect that having a thermostatic control would direct the heater to switch on and off as required to maintain a narrow range around a preset temperature. With this Honeywell, comfort requires manual switching because the thermostatic temperature control functions poorly. When the heater reaches +1-2 degrees above the preset temperature, the fan and heater element shut off and the thermostat should then be monitoring room temperature to determine when to restart the heater, (at least that's how it's supposed to work).

Reality is: once the thermostat triggers the Honeywell heater to shut off at a preset 72 degrees; the fan stops immediately and the displayed temperature quickly rises about four degrees. As the unit cycles off there is no airflow over the temperature sensor so the thermostat is no longer sensing room temperature; it's actually sensing residual radiated heat from the unit itself. As the office A/C kicks in, actual room temperature drops from 72 to 66 but the Honeywell heater display shows 76 and won't cycle on because its temperature sensor is still responding to residual heat in the heater. At this point the thermostat was set at 72, the Honeywell temperature display shows 76, and the actual room temperature was 66. The only way to restart the heater at this point is to reset the Honeywell's thermostat to 78 or above. As the heater cycles on, the fan restores air circulation past the internal sensor and the temperature display indicator quickly drops from 76 to 66. Now the heater won't shut down until room temp reaches 80 degrees because it was necessary to reset the thermostat to 78 to get the heater to cycle on when the actual room temperature was 66.

This heater isn't a 'set it and forget it' affair. I found my office was consistently too cold, then too hot. This demonstrates a latent design defect where the temperature sensor is either located too close to the heater element, poorly shielded, or worse. Most thermostatically controlled heaters I've experienced, address this issue by continuing to run the fan for a couple of minutes after the heater element shuts off to dissipate residual heat and equalize internal heater temperature with room temperature so the thermostatic sensor is accurately tracking ambient room temp. I've already had two of these heaters, so it isn't a defective unit, its a defective design.

Your choices with this heater are 14 degree temperature swings with thermostat function, or switching the heater on and off manually. A remote control would be greatly appreciated since manual operation is necessary for temperature control. Note that competitive units INCLUDE a remote; my recommendation is to keep shopping until you locate a heater with a remote. (Ironic that a company that made its reputation for thermostatic controls can't make a thermostat function properly in a space heater.)

I'd speculate that similarly priced, thermostatically controlled space heaters would likely function as poorly as this Chinese-made Honeywell and I wouldn't be surprised to find they're all made in the same factory. In my opinion a remote control would be an infinitely more desirable feature than a poorly executed, wonky thermostatic control.

Heater warm quickly. Oscillating feature is very good. The timer turns off the heater within a few minutes of the setting. Actual temperature setting is not real accurate but you learn to adjust to it. I don't like having to reset temperature each time unit is turned on, however, overall, this is a very good heater for small rooms.

Honest reviews on Honeywell Electronic Ceramic Tower Heater, HZ-3750GP

Not for babies, I wanted to keep temperature more or less constant at around 26oC for the small baby room, the HZ-3759GP turned out to be noisy and the room temperature goes down little more than two degrees oC below the set temperature before the unit turns on (too cold) and then the unit will not turn off until the temperature goes two degrees above set temperature (too hot), that is a 4oC temperature swing!!! of course I measured the temperature with a calibrated ambient thermometer...since the built in thermometer does not do a good job tracking the room temperature...may be that is the problem.

I HAD PREVIOUSLY PURCHASED ANOTHER BRAND OF ELECTRONIC CERAMIC TOWER HEATER AND WAS VERY UNSATISFIED. I PURCHASED THE HONEYWELL AND GUEST WHAT'IT WORKS GREAT' I HAVE HAD NO PROBLEMS WITH ALL THREE OF THE HEATERS. THERE IS VERY LOW NOISE TO THESE UNITS AND RECOMMEND THIS BRAND TO EVERYONE WHO IS LOOKING FOR A GREAT CERAMIC HEATER.

As noted in previous reviews, these air vent covers aren't magnetically strong enough to cling to an air vent with air coming out of it. Hell, I couldn't get them to stay on even then the air wasn't blowing, much less when it was blowing.

For air returns, these would probably work okay if the magnetics were strong enough to hold it to the register.

If you are using it for floor vents, it is fine, but I have a vent on the ceiling and it does not stay up.

The problem is that when packed three together, the magnetic fields are weakened. I found two covers placed with the right polarity stick to a ceiling vent better. You also need to cut them to the vent size to reduce weight.

It's a good idea but the solution needs refinement.

Unfortunately, these cover are not magnetic enough to support their weight in a vertical position, which is what I bought them for.

All the prior reviews are acccurate and these don't work as advertised for the purposes of covering wall vents. However as weak as these magnetic covers are they can potentially work for you. Here's the solution I found that works ok:

1) First make sure to cut them exactly to size...the smaller the better as this allows them to hold their own weight much better.

2) Double them up. After you cut it to size use 2 covers back-to-back on wall vents. They will hold this way.

If all else fails you can always use those mini-magnets which are obscure and powerful enough to hold these up and get the job done.
