I had read several reviews. Some said it was noisy and some said it quieted down after a while. The noise level is to high for me. It heats up what I want, but I would not buy another one because of the fan noise;

I read some of the reviews about this burner and I was somewhat nervous about purchasing. I hunted for something similar, but all searches lead me back to this model. The burner is well made, quite heavy metal, and worked fabulously. The starter kicked in the flame each time, although I did have a long lighter handy in case. I used this burner to prepare paella on my new 15" paella pan. I loved it. Heavy duty, worked well for me, was easy to light and control the flame... I am glad I took a chance on this one!

I purchased this burner to melt lead in a large cast iron pot. I was frustrated with the smaller burner I had as it would take over 2 hours to melt 30lbs of lead. This burner is very stable and had a 30 pound pot of lead melted to 600 degrees in just 40 minutes, and with the flame control, I could easily set the heat down to keep the temperature constant. Wish I had bought this a year ago. It attached easily to a standard propane tank for the grill. Electric start does not always fire it up on the first try, but I have never known an electric start to work 100% anyway.

Great burner low is low for keeping warm and high is high enough for wok cooking. It is hard to find a burner that can do both. This is the one. The hose is maybe 4 feet which is a good length. Fitting on the regulator is correct for a USA propane tank.

However it has a few quirks:

* It is for a table so the table needs to be metal or a heatproof material. It gets hot underneath.

* The other item to watch out for is the flared fitting connection. This unit came with a rubber gasket. Check with your plumber or gas technician to see if a gasket is EVER needed on a brass flare fitting. I have many propane stoves with the same flared fitting and NONE of them have a gasket. I did try using the gasket and seals well and does not leak but the fitting sure feels funny and not rock solid like my other stove fittings.

Nice solid product, not to happy with the hose and regulator, it just has regular hose clamps on it and the tank connection don't fit on the new 25lb tanks.

It needs the little (tit or male pin )to push the gas valve in when you tighten it so if you buy the stove you have to buy a new hose and regulator.

I purchased the Big Bertha stove to fire up a large (7 quart jar capacity) pressure cooker for canning. Upon arrival, the stove was banged around during shipping and did not sit level upon a flat surface. I was able to file down the offending leg slightly and now it sits rock solid level. In operation, this stove gets hellishly hot, it can boil a full pot of water in minutes. The 6 ft gas hose is rather sticky and smells of plastic resins and chemicals. This stove works well, has a full range of adjustment and puts out sufficent heat for pressure canning purposes. You can set a large pot on this unit with the controls being accessable.

I recently purchased the duraflame heater.It is advertised to heat a room up to 1000sq.ft not so ..........Our room is less than 500 sq.ft and after having this heater turned on for 5 hours there was very little change in room temp.Our home is new construction with r-40 in walls, cieling and subfloor with dual pane windows.I would not recomend this product and I will be returning the unit.

Why do I have to use 20 words to say "great heater" that seems to save $$. This is the start of it's second winter with us and heats the big room downstairs very nicely, thank you; plus the heat carries up the stairwell better than furnace heat.

I live in a 1600 ft. Twin house. While it did not heat the entire house, with a few smaller space heaters I did NOT buy oil this year! My electric bill was about $100.00 more a month but that's a lot better than forking out $500 to $600 at a time. You can preset the thermostat and let it run.....

I do not like to be cold so we set it at 72°. Couldn't be happier with my purchase! Bought one for my son, too!

After waiting for another Duraflame model that was on backorder, I decided to substitute with this model. I am in a New York studio apartment & this year the heat was cut back a bit, and because of the excessively cold weather, needed to supplement the heat. This heater works perfectly. Gives a gently warming and comfortable heat without blasting hot air and heats up my 12 X 26 studio really quickly...now no more shivering at night and in the late afternoon when the sun starts to go down. Also, the cabinet is very well made. Gave the wood a coat of furniture polish for protection & I was good to go...very happy with my purchase and think it was a great value...Thanks Amazon, can always count on you for my purchases and always come to you first!!

I have purchased two of these items from Sam's club. Both items had problems with the fan making a loud noise. When I disassembled the units, I noticed the bearings in the fan are very cheap. I will not be buying another.

We actually purchased the Cedar Ridge fireplace (Lowes because Amazon did not sell it) which included the Procom 32,000 btu gas logs, unvented, with a remote to control the heat setting. We placed it in our dining room, and find it heats the 1800 sq ft ranch house we live in. Our home is an open plan, so this helps the warm air move from room-to-room, plus we use ceiling fans located in most of our rooms. If we had placed it in our family room we would have found it too warm for our needs or maybe we would have purchased a unit with less BTUs, but we knew we needed to heat more of the rooms than just the family room.

We keep a window slightly open at each end of the house, and so far have had absolutely no health problems with this unit, such as headaches, nausea, sleepiness, etc. We use a couple different brands of Co2 monitors and they have not moved from zero. The odor is slight if at all, which surprised us because my husband has a workshop in the basement, which I thought would become a problem with it mingling with gas, but this has not been the case. We had relatives compliment us on our unit due to not having the odor that some units seem to have.

I know there is much debate about unvented natural gas logs, and we once had a gas stove that we hated, but that was some years ago. We decided that we would try this again and so glad we did because we haven't had to run our furnace (electric heat which expensive) during the day and evening, but it is set to run if needed should our home go below 64-deg. at night when we are sleeping.

WE DO NOT USE THE GAS UNIT WHILE WE SLEEP AND THE GAS IS TURNED OFF FOR SAFETY. As far as humidity goes, so far we don't have a problem with it, and in the cold weather, the humidity is welcomed for us since we do not get the static as we do with our furnace.

One thing we will absolutely do is keep our unit maintained. We will follow the directions in the book concerning cleaning, maintenance, etc., so that this unit will be efficient and effective.

For us, this unit has been every thing we hoped it would be, and of course we hope it stays that way.

I also bought the "Cedar Ridge" branded version of this but it is the same manufacturer and product. It is a basic gas log without any frills but it looks nice and is a very good value. Install was pretty straightforward and it has been working well. We like the thermostat feature which turns it off for a little while when the room warms up then back on after several minutes to keep the room warm.

I purchased a Procom gas log set Model # 4222357 approximately 2 1/2 years ago from Lowes. Just about 1 year 10 months from the date they were installed they stopped working. I called the installer to check them and he quickly shut off the gas and took out the logs. At that point, he felt the logs were not safe to repair and reinstall. Part of the metal on the unit was actually melted. I called the company since they were supposed to have a two year warranty. After waiting about 45 minutes to get to talk with someone, I explained the situation and he told me to take pictures and send to them. I did this but after 3 weeks, still no response. I e-mailed them again only to get a response saying they would have to get more information and speak with the installer. To make a long story short, I purchased a new set of logs (not ProCom of course) and ended up disposing of the ProCom set. So like I say, no use dealing with customer service. It's the worst experience I've ever had dealing with a Customer Service department!

I did not try the heat function but was not very pleased with the cooling function. I set the thermostat function for 69. The current temp in the room was reading 80 degrees. I let the machine start to run, closed the bedroom door, and checked back in an hour. It had only gone down to 78 and the fan speed had already slowed. I turned it off and then turned it back on and reset it again to 69. I let it run all night and when I checked it the next morning it still only got down to 72 degrees. I have a similar sized LG machine in another larger room and it will cool the room down in 15-30 minutes. Although I did find this one to be slightly quieter than the LG, I would rather it be a little louder and be more productive in getting it to cool.

Also the attachment to the hose is a little tricky. With the LG, the attachment brackets on the hose between the window kit and the machine spins freely around the hose itself so you can hook the outside vent hose up directly to the machine very easily. With this machine the hose attaches like a screw. The whole hose has to rotate to screw it into the back of the machine. This is a problem because the other end of the hose screws into the window kit as well, the opposite way. So as you start to screw the hose into the machine it gets unscrewed from the window kit....confused yet? It just really annoying because you have to basically attach the window kit, then spin the hose and the entire window kit into the back of the machine before placing the window kit in the window.

Disappointing! I thought I did a good job researching this product. Very loud and almost impossible to watch television while this is running. I will say during the day it keeps about 1,000 square feet comfortable at below 80 degrees.

got this for my tenants to cool part of the first floor and heat the finish basement in the winter. two weeks into july compressor go already. Amazon gave full refund witch was great. I felt that a 8000 btu window unit does a better job with ac compared to this 14000 btu unit.
