Product was not as described on Amazon. Product specification said product included a warming deck. When it arrived one was not included. Contacted seller who stated that warming deck was only on 6oz and 8oz models. After much back and forth conversation, they finally agreed to replace it with one that has a warming deck. The replacement unit is either used or refurbished.

After several happy years with my Bunn (10 cup/thermal carafe) coffee maker, it started leaking if multiple pots were brewed in a day. While comparing prices of other 'rapid' brew drip coffeemakers, found the low price of the Cook Essentials Intellichef Coffee Maker too low to resist. After initial set-up, the first pot brewed a full 10-cups in under 5 minutes. In addition to being spoiled by the rapid brew cycle of the Bunn, the temperature and flavor (regardless of brand of ground coffee) was always superior to Mr Coffee, Deloghni or Black & Decker brewers purchased and then given away. This unit seems to be well constructed and offers a sleek design. At 14 1/2" tall, easily accessible for adding water without moving the unit from under wall cabinet above countertop placement.

3rd pot brewed on Day 1. Consistent brew time, (very hot) temperature and (bold) flavor. Pleased to be sure. I typically brew between 2-3 pots per day during the week, and 4 or more per day on weekend lots of coffee drinking visitors. I will update at some point in the futre as to continued performance and satisfaction. Basic fact, at this unit's price, I can buy 5 of these units and just equal the best price I found for replacing my beloved Bunn. Using that price point logic, no complaints if this unit lasts at least nine months before a replacement should be necessary. Since there is a 1 year warranty, hopefully, a non-issue.

Makes good coffee, but misses some essential functions to make it more user friendly and if for whatever reason the power goes out you have guarantee no coffee in the morning because even if the power goes back on it doesn't switch on the coffee maker so you'll have to wait a minimum of 20 minutes. You can't pull out the coffee carafe while it's brewing because it misses a simple stop drip feature and the heating plate under the carafe seems to burn the coffee in the carafe fast.

The noise from the reheating of the water was annoying, but I could live with it to get a hot cup of coffee fast. No more. Less than 2 months after putting it in operation, both heating elements quit working. Never again for this brand

I recently purchased the SUNHEAT Electronic Infrared Zone Heater. I bought this product for my father who sleeps in a reclining chair at night. He wanted a heater that would warm the air in the room and after using it for less than a day, he said the room felt more comfortable and it was easier for him to relax and sleep. The product works better than expected and it is quieter than I thought it would be. My only complaint, [if you want to call it a complaint], would be that the remote control buttons are difficult to use for someone who has limited strength in their fingers. I definitely would not let this influence my decision in buying another one of these heaters, but it is something to think about if the person using it has limited hand strength, such as someone who is handicapped or is elderly.

This Sunheat has a 3-year warranty if you check with others in the same price range you'll probably find a one year warranty that, in some cases, does not cover labor. It has a wood cabinet not metal or plastic and nice digital readout. And most important it works great! And will last for years not just one year. I feel Sunheat is not that well known compared to mass advertised brands but it is the best heater for the money. I trust it because I have oil heat in my home and I refuse to pay around $4.00 per gallon I heat using two infrared heaters and two radiator heaters in a mild climate in winter of 20 to about 50 degrees my house is about 1200 sq ft., Over oil heat I save a least $200 per month and I am nice and toasty warm. Their other heater has a 5 year warranty and you can't go wrong with that.

The only disappointment I have is that on the SUNHEAT website, they imply they are a US company, only the cabinet is made in the US. (at least that's something). The unit itself is from China. Looks nice and works well, I have no complaints.

Update: 4/17/2013 Unit has never been in a damp area, yet the cabinet is starting to delaminate on the top front edge. Also, on the rear where the intake filter screen is located the chassis was not drilled correctly for the assembly screws causing the sheet metal to be rippled. This keeps the screen from fitting correctly. Poor Chinese workmanship.

RugbuddyTM 165w Under Rug Space Heater, 3' X 5' Review

RugbuddyTM 165w Under Rug Space Heater, 3' X 5'
Customer Ratings: 4 stars

Bought the rugbuddy to warm the oriental carpet in my attic office. We have a 100 year old house with cold wood floors, and thought this would be just the trick.

After getting the rugbuddy set up under my carpet and turning it on, I was surprised how long it took to warm the carpet and floors at least 4 hours. But this is probably a function of how much cold floor it has to warm. After leaving it on for a full day, my workspace was warm and toasty, and even my shoes would get warm while I work. I guess that's pretty good for 165 watts of heating.

I would love it if Rugbuddy sold a carpet pad to go under the heating pad, ideally with foil facing this would definitely help it to warm faster and send more heat upward.

All in all, a very good purchase.

Hi, the small living room in my basement apartment gets cold because it lacks the house water radiators found in my other rooms. I hoped putting a 3'x5' RugBuddy (RB) under a rug, added to my current 1500W Lasko silent electric heater, would be enough to keep the 14'x11' room warm. Short version: it'll heat the rug, but won't raise the room temp, even in a small room. A standard portable oil-filled radiator will do more to heat a room.

Long version: Once I had the funds -this thing ain't cheap -I bought this size RugBuddy, and the recommended KlimaGrip rug pad and PlugBuddy thermostat directly from Speedheat. Once received on a warmish winter day, I laid the thing out and plugged it in. An hour later, I could feel slight heat if I pressed my hand down on the RB. About the same heat as an electric blanket on its very lowest setting, much less heat than a heated car seat. At about an inch above, barely any heat could be felt. I figured it was defective and called the company's support line. After I briefly explained the problem, customer support guy asked if I could feel any heat at all. Yes, I answered, but not much. Then he began to tell me how I needed to understand that this product only uses 165W so it won't be as powerful as other heaters. The spiel was delivered as if he said it dozens of times a day to similarly disappointed customers. I figured at that point, this product was a dud. Customer support guy said that the RB works better if actually placed under a rug and above the rug pad. Okay, I'll try it. But it made no real difference. Before I returned it, I wanted to measure the temperature using the thermometer on the PlugBuddy thermostat (which by the way, is a not-repackaged LuxPro PSP300, LuxPro PSP300 Programmable Digital Thermostat currently for sale on Amazon for half the price). I took a temperature reading of the rug, then I installed the pad and RugBuddy and put the rug on top, then waited 2.5 hours, then took more temp readings. Since I couldn't find any independent reviews with details or temp figures before buying, I've decided to write this review to help others.

The results:

-Starting temp of rug & rest of room: 65 degrees

-Temp if thermometer placed on rug with RB and pad, after 2.5 hours: 78 degrees

-Temp if thermometer placed six inches above rug with RB and pad, after 2.5 hours: 67 degrees

-Temp in room, on table a few feet away: 65 degrees

So the rug itself was 13 degrees warmer, but six inches right above it was only 2 degrees warmer. For 200 bucks, I expected more than two degrees half a foot above the rug. I wouldn't be disappointed if this thing were advertised for just warming a rug, which it does. But the advertising and labeling implies it'll actually help heat a room (e.g. "Save energy by only heating the rooms you are using"; "Space heater" labeling.) It's not a space heater, it's a rug warmer. If you lie on the floor a lot for some reason, it might be worth it. But if you're hoping to help heat a small room, even just raising the room temp a few degrees, don't waste your time and money on this. It won't help. I doubt bigger RBs would make any difference either in terms of a room's temp.

The company did accept a return and gave me a refund without any trouble though. By the way, the Lasko 5620-series heater, Lasko Products 5620 Space Heater Electric Portable Beautiful High Quality Excellent Performance, works really well. It just isn't powerful enough to heat the room fully on its own.

I had a rug pad already, so I separated the rug (It's a thick carpet rug) and placed the rugbuddy in between the pad and the rug. The instruction says to lay on it for more than 5 min, so I did. I started feeling the warmth of the filament within a few minutes, but not enough to generate heat into the rug. But probably 15min or so later, the rug was nice and toasty...my cats started gathering on it and I was too! I love that it's safe and totally silent(obviously). Now I can be away and still leave plenty of warm spots for my kitties. Money well spent!

Honest reviews on RugbuddyTM 165w Under Rug Space Heater, 3' X 5'

SpeedHeat Rugbuddy 370 Under Rug Space Heater, 5' X 7'I first saw/heard of rug heaters being used in the very small rooms in Japan. We bought our first one because of a huge increase in our electric bill after a garage conversion to office space where an electric heater was installed. The cement slab seems to hold the heat when using the rug buddy and work well under our old wool area rugs. The room has good insulation and double paned windows. During the spring and fall we have been only using one (5'x7')of the two rug heaters and the space has been comfortable (temperate climate of 35-45 night temps and 50-70 daytime temps). The space is 10x15 feet with standard 8 foot ceilings.

We liked the effect of using the rug heaters in the office so got a rug heater for our living room. Our living room is approximately the same size as the office space with wood floors. The 2x7 1/2' heater in the living room takes the chill off the living room this fall. We have the timers set to turn the heaters on an hour and half before we get home from work or up in the morning. So far we haven't felt the need to turn on our furnace. As a supplemental heat source the rug heaters are working well for us.

Although an investment, if the rugheaters help lower our fuel oil usage by only one tank the rug heaters will have paid for themselves and put some cash in our pockets. For our old small house the floor heaters are great.

I have a heated floor in my bathroom. We also have a small unheated fully enclosed sun porch. The porch is attached to the house on two walls, has an 8' ceiling and consists of a ceramic tile floor and 6 double pane e-glass floor to ceiling vinyl windows on two outside walls. In the winter the porch gets cold. So I saw this Rug Buddy on Amazon and figured it'd work like the heated floor in my bathroom except the heating element is of course above the tiles rather than below. I saw descriptive words like, "space heater" "toasty" "radiant floor heater" "like an electric blanket" and figured this thing would be just the ticket to take the chill off our porch. Amazon recommended I get the Lux plug-in thermostat too, so I did. A few hundred bucks later the stuff arrives and the instructions say I need a rug pad to separate the rug buddy from the floor. Ok, so I pop $$ for that too. After laying it all down, plugging it in and waiting 24 hours all I can say is, where's the heat? I mean seriously, a $20.00 candle would put out more BTUs than this ridiculous thing and at least the candle would smell nice too. The Lux thermostat which I set at 68 degrees is utterly useless because the room can barely muster 48 degrees and that's with the Rug Buddy on for hours and sun shining in. So here's the deal folks, I'm being charitable by saying that what the Rug Buddy really is, is a rug warmer, not a rug heater. Nor is it a space heater or what I would define as a "heater" of any sort. Unless your idea of heat is to get down on all fours, place the palms of your hands on the carpet and say, hmmmmm? I think it's warm, sort of, I guess. Any electric blanket you've ever experienced puts out a lot more heat than this thing does, heated car seats do too. The bottom line is, if you want to throw a rug on your floor then make it juuust warm enough to take the chill off then the Rug Buddy is for you. Pretty expensive for such a tepid result methinks.

The Cyclone 2000 is the smallest of the Port-A-Cool (PAC) product line, and clearly it's the design and convenience that warrants their rather high purchase price and not because of any generous amount of high grade hardware being used for its assembly. I'll elaborate on that later but first, regardless of how these PACs are advertised, they are still swamp coolers and serve well in drier climates by whisking cool evaporated water into the air, and since I live in the dry, dry desert and have access to every PAC model in production, these are definitely better than the average evaporative coolers. They are swamp coolers on steroids, ranging from this smallest unit all the way up to the new mega-buck and hair raising Hurricane! So anything with the Port-A-Cool label on it is going to have superior cooling when compared to the less expensive KuulAire products. But be sure of what you are about to purchase because you can save a few hundred dollars if one of the smaller units is adequate and you don't really need the high volume of air flow that are common to these PACs. I never heard of anyone cooling the outside air before until becoming familiar with these units, and it is true. They will keep you cool, and people just love to keep one of the smaller PAC units pointed in their direction all the time while they are working either inside or outside.

I received my Cyclone 2000 several months before actually putting it into service. Upon finally removing it from its shipping box and hooking up power and a water hose, it wouldn't work, but I could hear a distinct hum from the motor. I pulled it completely apart and discovered a bent motor mount was causing the squirrel cage to rub up against its housing. Pulled it apart and straightened everything out the way it is supposed to be when shipped from the factory, and now it runs perfectly. My only disappointment was the use of cheap self-drilling metal screws to hold everything in position which only serves to speed up production, but what the end user finds out is that every screw eventually strips out and doesn't hold. Every one of them needs to be replaced with nuts and bolts, and the designers at Port-A-Cool should know better. Don't be cheap with a good product and test these coolers for proper operation before sending them out!

I'm using it in a 680 sq-ft garage/shop which is larger than recommended for the Cyclone 2000. I leave the garage door open about 2 ft so it pulls in outside air.

The temp drop is dramatic. When it's 100F outside the air coming from the portacool is in the high 70's. I'm in Dallas, TX, so the air is fairly low humidity which is essential for making this type of cooler work. Since the unit is really too small for the space, I have to direct it towards the space that I work in but I don't consider that an issue. I've found that it isn't very good at cooling off a space that is already hot. If I wait until the afternoon and turn it on, it will help but it will still be hot in the shop. Best way to use it is to turn it on in the morning and let it run all day. If I do that, the shop is very livable even in the afternoon.

So in summary: It is not an air conditioner. As long as it is used for what it was designed for it's very effective and can keep a space livable, though not 100% comfortable, even on a hot day. And it will do it at a fraction of the running cost of AC. I don't hesitate to let this unit run all day as it only uses a couple of amps on 115V (very low electricity use compared to an AC unit).

This item worked as described. I got a 10 degree split in the Temp. We sit on the back porch and 85 feels much cooler than 95. A side advantage is it greatly reduces the flies bothering your time outside. Would have given a 5 star rating if it had side to side adjustment.

Honest reviews on Port A Cool PACCYC02 Cyclone 2000 Portable Evaporative Cooling Unit

I have really enjoyed my Port A Cool, Cyclone 2000. With all the 100+ degree days here in Texas it was too hot to work in my shop. The Cyclone 2000 solved the problem. It's not an air conditioner by any means, but it allowed me to work in the shop leaving the doors open where I could have easy access to the work bench and tools outside on the porch area.

I am VERY picky when it comes to coffee makers and have trouble finding one that doesn't make the coffee taste like plastic. This one works fine for me. I owned a DeLonghi before this one for about 6 years and the new DeLonghis have suffered a setback in quality as far as I am concerned. I returned about 3 of them. The minor flaw in this coffee maker is that the water gauge is on the inside and it is a little hard to tell what the level is. It is also a little tricky to pour water into. That wasn't enough for me to return it though, since the coffee tasted great!

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

I purchased this coffee maker 4 months ago and it has worked wonderful so far. This is the 3rd coffee maker I have had in the last year. It told me last week to clean it and I did. Makes wonderful coffee set to my taste, and stays as hot as I want it to. Looks sleek and beautiful on the cabinet. Only drawbacks are you have to pour slow so you don't dribble (but only when I rush) and clock can't be seen in dark so I keep it unplugged when not in use. I hope it lasts as long as it is warranteed for but would take 2 years.

* P.S.: It is now Dec2010 and I have had NO problems with this coffee maker for 3 years. When it finally does break I hope the new ones are just as good because I plan to buy another when needed. Even with a couple of drawbacks listed above it is the "Best Coffee Maker I've ever had".

* P.S.S.: It is now Dec2012 and still no problems with this coffee maker. Love, love, love it. Just have to clean it a couple of times a year and works great. I broke the pot and ordered a replacement.

Best Deals for Cuisinart® 12-cup Coffee Maker - Black Chrome Series

We bought this coffee maker less than 2 years ago. For the past few months, we babysat it to restart it during the brew cycle. Now it is completely kaput. In researching other coffeemakers, I see that most manufacturers have at least 10 percent 1-star reviews, many because of the short lifespan of the product. After having a Braun coffee grinder for 25 years and prior coffee makers for at least 5, I expect more than a 2-year lifespan for something on which I spend nearly $100. We are going back to stovetop boiling and dripping into our own thermal carafe no coffeemaker involved.

Honest reviews on Cuisinart® 12-cup Coffee Maker - Black Chrome Series

I read reviews obsessively and couldn't find the combination of features and looks and color I wanted (I got this in white), and settled on this one.

I was worried about how difficult it would be to pour water in b/c of the placement of the well, but what you find out is that the Cuisinart pot is perfectly designed to sit on the lip of the well and pour the water on.

Wish the lid on the pot were attached with a lever, instead of being a pop on and off affair... and if I break the pot oi doesn't seem like a cheap replacement.

Small minus points for plastic knobs with cheap feeling little silver lines painted on which look like they'll get stripped off.. As mentioned the water gage is inside and isn't the easiest to read, you just have to measure carefully before you pour in no biggie. And small minus for the faintness of the LED clock, and that to program the machine, you have to click TWO settings, not one, but still I'm more impressed than I expected.

And Big points for style.

Oh and no plastic taste here.

This is the best coffee maker I ever had. I was reluctant to spend $80 on a coffee maker. After living with this one for 6 months now I can honestly say that I would have paid a hundred for it and still been just as happy.

I have seen many people who say that the water gauge being on the inside is a flaw in the design and they don't know how much water they put in. I do not understand this. I am 6'2" and can see the water gauge fine. That said, I never look at it anyway because I use the pot to measure the water and fill.

Another "flaw" that I read in many reviews referred to the place where you pour the water being too small. Not the case. It is not tricky AT ALL to pour in the water. I use the coffe pot to fill it and I have never spilled a drop. I don't have to be particularly careful to get the desired result, either.

This is a great coffe pot and an excellent value for the money. It makes a GREAT pot of coffee!

UPDATE 6-25-12

I have now had this coffee maker for about 3 years and still love it just as much. It's a great coffee maker!

Still going strong!

This Fireplace did not come with a remote control and the description said that it did. Unfortunately, that was a feature that I specifically wanted and I may have purchased another fireplace that I was considering that did have that feature instead of this one had I known this ahead of time. Other than that misrepresenation in the description, the fireplace does works great and comfortably heats our sun room which is a 13 X 16 room with a cathedral ceiling. We only used it to heat the room for holiday functions so far, but it has done the job quite nicely and everyone thought it looked very nice.

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program So you've got a fireplace that you never use because you realize that more heat goes up the chimney than into the room, and you have to clean up afterward, and you have to carry wood through the house to the fireplace, etc. etc. Instead, why not take this electric fireplace, put it into the regular fireplace, close the flue, and turn on instant fake fire!?

First of all, the unit works. It has a single fan switch which must be turned on for heat to be generated. It has the fake fireplace appearance switch, which can be on without heat, or which can be turned off even if the heat and fan are on. Then there are two switches for heat one switch pulls half the power and generates less heat. Finally, you have a rheostat control for fake fire brightness and another rheostat which controls the thermostat cut-off. There is only a single cut-off, so even if you have both heat switches on, as the temperature rises in the room, both heaters will turn off simultaneously.

The whole unit is a perfect size to fit into a single-sided wall fireplace, with the heat generated at the base of the unit, unidirectional toward the side with the fake fire display.

The fireplace isn't quite as noisy as some other similar models, and you won't notice it if the stereo or TV is on, but it would be nice if it were still a bit more quiet. The cost of the unit is quite a bit steeper than that of a ceramic heater. Frankly, you're paying for the appearance more than for the heat. If all you want is an electric heat source, you can save money and not get the pretty fireplace lighting.

Oh...make sure you've got an AC outlet near your fireplace.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I am rather pleased with this fireplace. It helps keep my living room warm while looking great. I can also have the ambiance of the "fire" without the heat.

Honest reviews on Frigidaire CMSF-10310 Cleveland Floor Standing Electric Fireplace

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I had low expectations for this unit. I've never really like the looks of fake fireplaces, and was doubtful this would produce enough heat to make a difference.

We have a very large, cold master bathroom. My wife detests using the shower until the room is heated. So I bought a small space heater to serve this purpose, but it's ugly, loud and it smells. So I jumped at the chance to try out this fireplace.

It's comes shipped in a double box, with the outer box being plain brown. So many large items are shipped from Amazon without a brown box for all the world to see what you've just had delivered. So it's nice that this is in a brown box.

It's a little heavy and cumbersome to take out of the box, but the unit itself isn't as heavy as you'd think. It's made from painted mdf board, made to look like cast iron. It doesn't quite pull it off, but it looks better than just regular plywood I suppose.

It has a flap on the top with 4 switches and 2 knobs. One is for the fan, one is for low heat, one is for high heat, and the other is for the light of the fire. One knob is to adjust the light of the fire, and the other is to adjust the heat. Note the fan MUST be on in order for the unit to produce heat.

We've tried all settings, and this thing heats up our bathroom very quickly! The first time you use it, there is a strange odor emitted. This is noted as normal according to the instruction manual, and goes away after the first time.

The unit is very quiet and produces quite a bit of heat. And it's very nice to stare at the fire while in the bath tub with a glass of wine.

Overall, we're very happy with this fireplace it definitely exceeded out expectations.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program With its two heat settings, & adjustable thermostat this is more than adequate to heat an average-sized room. The artificial flames (which can be used with or without the heater) add a nice ambiance as well.

There was no assembly required. It is surprisingly light compared to the size of the box it came in, so transporting it from room to room shouldn't be too much of an issue.

All in all, it's a great little heater that can throw a little mood lighting into rooms that were previously devoid of it. Recommended!

I bought one of these about three years ago to heat up my natural hookah coals that can not be lit with just a lighter. In that time the thing had been dropped, kicked around, and my roommate left it out in the rain, twice, and it still worked great.

I finally bought a new one even though I technically did not need to and it is still a great product. However, the only other thing I have ever used it for was heating up food like a pot of baked beans. I have never tried to boil water or fry an egg in a pan so I do not know well it works for things like that. Otherwise, a great product.

I bought this to use in the flower pot meat smoker from Good Eats. The thermostat made it cut off the first time I used it, but it is a breeze to take apart. When I put just the heating element inside the flower pot and put the controller outside, it worked perfectly.

I was hesitant to buy this when I read some of the reviews saying that it was not powerful enough. I actually just smoked a pork shoulder with the eye only at the medium setting. So those poeple that cant get it hot enough even on the highest setting just don't know what they are doing. ALL of the single eye burners have a "safety" feature that prevents the unit from getting too hot. The only thing you gain from buying a more powerful unit is a heat sensor that allows for a higher ambient temperature before it shuts off. If you dont mind spending the extra money then a more powerful burner is the easy fix but its overkill because you need a more you just need to get above 200 degrees before it shuts off. There are two tricks to getting this thing hot enough first and most important...YOU MUST USE A CAST IRON SKILLET OR SMOKER BOX....even if you dont need it for the wood chips. The cast iron holds enough heat that even when your eye shuts off the pot doesnt completely cool. The second trick requires a little bit of hacking but it is SUPER easy. Just unscrew the base from the heating coil, remove the wires from the contacts and put the base under your flower pot. That way you have a nice layer of terra cotta insulating that annoying heat sensor from the heat that you are trying to cook with. Once you do that , it actually gets TOO hot if you dont adjust the temperature down. I actually saw my temp climb to over 300 degrees. By keeping the base right under the flower pot and turning the temperature dial down the little bit of heat that escapes through the hole is enough to trigger the thermostat in the base to shut off. Of course this means that you will have to pay attentiion to the temperature the first time you use it but after that you just mark the appropriate setting with a sharpie for the next smoke session.

Honest reviews on Maxi-Matic Elite Cuisine Single Burner 750-Watt Hot Plate

This is a very cheaply made coil burner. Right out of the box I thought it was broken because the coil itself moves all around on the top and it held in place mostly by the two flimsy wires that make it heat up. Also, the power indicator light never worked. I would highly recommend purchasing a burner that costs a little more. I wish I had.
