Casabella Microfiber Vent Brush Review
This works so much better than the brush model. For those of us who have the long skinny filter the curves downward, this slips in there and the lint stays on the brush. The other model with the long, cone shaped wiry brush just makes a mess and doesn't bring all the lint out with it.

Just recieved the unit today. Installing the top bar on it was odd, and more difficult than it needed to be, the screws didn't seem to grip to the main unit. Otherwise installation was easy. When you look through the louvers you can see light through the back of the unit, which doesn't seem right to me. And you can see the styrofoam that lines the unit quite well both through the louvers and through the back. So thats where they saved some $$. With the styrofoam exposed like that I don't think I'd leave the unit in the window to brave a New York winter. It also doesn't appear to be airtight. It does get the room cool. The fan speeds are high, higher and blastoff. Not really a 'low' option, and its not quiet but I like white noise when I sleep anyway.
My next unit will have to have a remote though, and a digital temperature guage which this does not have. But that's for a richer time and a better economy. Until then, this one will work fine.
It is noisy, the compressor sounds like someone fired a gun next door when it kicks in and it seems like it is always kicking in or out. I am going to return this one if possible, if not I will sell it to someone I don't like. The fan is noisier on low than my GE's from home depot are on high. If you like the price, and don't mind noise buy this one. It also does not have a remote, I should have read closer and the temp. control is touchy, hot, move it a little and freeze. Nothing good to say. I just ordered a sharp 8,000 for around $30 more and it has energy saver, timer and remote. I buy a LOT from Amazon and this is the second item I have not liked and both were my fault for being a cheapskate. Amazon is wonderful and anyone that has shopped on line knows that for sure. Not Amazons fault, but they will probably send me a label to ship it back and it won't cost me a dime. They are always within a buck or two if they don't beat the competition straight up and the free shipping is free both ways if you buy from Amazon. Love Amazon.
Next day comment.
I called Amazon and told them about the problems with this product and that it was past the time window for return. They said "no problem" and sent me a prepaid mailing label. I also asked if it was OK to wait until the new one I ordered last night got here and got the same answer. I checked and the new one I ordered last night is already shipped. Love Amazon.
UPDATE
Less than two weeks after returning the prepaid package I got confirmation today that my credit card has been credited with the total amount of my order. My new AC is working great and Amazon has come through again. This is still a lousy product, but that is the great thing about Amazon, if you make a mistake the make it better.

I chose this particular model because it did not have all the fancies. Who needs another remote?? I live in a cottage with large rooms and very high ceilings. I just put this unit in the window, and I am a 60 y.o woman with a bad back and yes, I put it in alone! Naturally, I am sweating because I JUST put it in the window. I am in the back of my house and I feel it already way back here! It has only been operating maybe 10 minutes. In the reviews from others, some said this unit is noisy. I hear it but would hardly call it noisy. This is an outstanding buy! I was a little worried about ordering an item like this online and once again Amazon came through like a champ. Item was delivered in 2 business days. I let it sit at the door for a week waiting for someone to put it in for me. Yesterday's 85 degree temp made me give it a shot. I am proud of me! I made a good purchase and installation was a snap! Thanks Amazon, love you much!Best Deals for Frigidaire FRA082AT7 8,000 BTU Window-Mounted Compact Room Air
This is a great little air conditioner for the price. The only thing I wish it had is a thermostat to regulate the temperature. You must continually turn it on and off by hand to keep the room at the right temp. It does a great job though.Honest reviews on Frigidaire FRA082AT7 8,000 BTU Window-Mounted Compact Room Air

As noted by a previous reviewer, this unit shuts down its air conditioning function when the condensate reservoir fills up. The unit then goes into fan mode. To get air conditioning back, the user empties the reservoir using a little, almost-flat plastic pan (LAF pan) that, even with its low sides, just barely fits below the reservoir exit, which, itself, is situated under the heat exhaust hose and just a little above the floor. If you're on a rug, the reservoir exit has even less clearance, or none. In addition to the LAF pan, you must also bring a pail to the job, so you can repeatedly empty the LAF pan into the pail. Of course, if you tip the LAF pan slightly on its way to the pail, you spill some of its contents onto your floor or rug in the process.
This is a case of abominable engineering---design that wastes your time and patience each day you use the "air conditioner." You spend time on your knees moving water from the very bottom of the unit to a pail. Then you spend more time mopping up what you've spilled in the process.
If there is no other way for you to exist than with this portable unit, you may want to design a fiveor six-inch-high pedestal that holds the unit securely and allows you to place a bigger emptying vessel below the reservoir exit. (About half a gallon would be good.)
Better is to rethink the buying decision and return the unit.

Soleus pe2-10r-32 review. PLEASE NOTE: I bought this for $299 plus tax in box, and brand new at Menards hardware store on 5-11-11. I COMPLETELY AGREE with Mr. Griffiths and Koqn. This unit has hardly any dehumidifying ability. I WAS using it in the bedroom, and it hardly cools at all. It is also loud, but I think that goes with the territory of a portable, because the compressor, and motor are on the inside of your house, instead of outside the window. However I TOTALLY RECOMMEND their window units. I have a 12,000 soleus, and it reduces humidity in my 12 X 22 X 7' high front room a lot. It will reduce it from 70% on a bad, muggy day to about 40% in just a couple hours. I am going to take this back, get another 12,000 and put that in my bedroom window. Not much else to say except I would like to thank Soleus for helping me to a great WORK OUT while hauling it up and down the steps.Best Deals for PE2-10R-32, 10,000 BTU Portable Evaporative AC with Dehumidifier
This unit works great. The only part I agree with on the other reviews is the drain hole. It's in a terrible place but to solve that I simply put it on a small table that was about 18" high and put a 5 gallon bucket under it for drainage. It takes about a day for the bucket to fill up and was my saving grace last summer during a heat wave. It was exactly what we needed and worded great.Honest reviews on PE2-10R-32, 10,000 BTU Portable Evaporative AC with Dehumidifier
Love this unit! Yes, the drain hose is inconveniently placed but for the few times it actually needed to be drained it's doable. Sure beats emptying buckets & buckets of water collected daily from our other portable air conditioner. The northeast tends to be hot (90's)with high humidity in the summer & this unit has kept our large, high ceilinged bedroom at a consistent 68 degrees for the two weeks we've owned it. Still lots of summer left & the hope is the review will be just as positive 8 weeks from now.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for PE2-10R-32, 10,000 BTU Portable Evaporative AC with Dehumidifier
Not sure why 2 people gave this a bad review. Mine works fantastic! No problems cooling the house. Sometimes it gets too cold and I have to shut it off for bit. It may be big for our small Apartment. Better too cold than not cold enough though. Love the remote control and you can use it as a fan as well.Friday, October 31, 2014

This is a great fast heating ceramic heater. The design is nice and compact. Great for small spaces, but strong enough that you want to keep it at least 3 feet away from you. Find that most of the heat does come out and up. Doesn't project too far out. Settings are nice the temperature regulation is nice if your using it in addition to a home or apartment heating system. This way it will shut off when the room gets warm enough.

Sunbeam Compact Heater Fan Reviews
we bought two of these heaters a long time ago, one for our garage and one to warm our chilly bedroom with a bad radiator.
they worked great, nice and warm, (the way we like it) then our one in the garage stopped working and burnt out in the flood (hurricane sandy when we had no power) we found that out when it came back on, so we tossed out the old one and used the good one (which was in the bedroom) that one worked great until my husband was in the garage and my son came to give him some papers. he accidentally kicked the holmes heater off the stool and onto the concrete floor. he tried to put it back on heat level one, but what happens?...... It starts making a GRINDING noise and emitting a horrible burning smell. so he unplugged it for ten minutes and let my 10 yr old open it up and saw that the fan belt somewhat damaged and the blade just wobbling loose inside witch caused the fan not to function right and that caused the heating coil to overheat.
I hope you find my review helpful! I still do give this heater five stars cause it's not the heater's fault, we broke it. BUT if you want to try what my son did about fixing it, UNPLUG THE UNIT FIRST!!! For at least 10 minutes.
thanks

The markup price was to high.I check around after receive the heater and found my niece had the same heater and she paid $88.00. The huge discount what had been attract my attenion but I have found the markup price is so high and when they discount you think you are getting a huge saving but you are not.I bought this unit for my grams because of it's good looking. I did not know the flame brightness is adjustable and the product comes with a remote. Both feature made it really easy to use, especially at night. Unlike other heater fans, this heater is that the heat comes from the bottom, which means it warms up your feet first, which means it heats up your body gradually and evenly. Compare to other products on the market, I find the pricing of this product is reasonable. $170 isn't a small amount nor large amount, but in the category of this price range, this product definitely falls out to be one of the best. If you budget is $200 or below, this product is definitely highly recommended.

I bought this space heater after searching for something to quickly heat up my bedroom in the winter, so I wasnt running the whole house heater all evening. I have had this for 5 months now and it has worked flawlessly! The remote is super handy as well. From the remote you can turn the power on, turn swivel off and on, increase the temp setting, and change the mode. Thats the other great thing it has a mode that just blows air like a fan, a low heat setting and a high heat setting. It also has an eco setting, but Im not quite sure what that does. The ONLY drawback Id say for this, is that you cant sent the timer from the remote. You have to set the timer on the unit itself. The timer is great too, you can set it for 30 minute increments, up to several hours. Ive never tested it, but it also has a tip feature that shuts the machine down if it falls over. Sorry to disagree with the other reviews, but this heater has been great for me!
After much aggravation it dawned on me that the blower fan was not spinning. I took the unit to my workshop, removed the screws from the rear of the unit, applied WD-40 to each bearing, plugged the unit in and gave the fan a little push to get it going. After a few seconds I turned the unit off and back on no fan action. I got the fan going again and let it run for a few minutes, turned it off and back on again. This time it started up fine.
I reassembled the unit, returned it to the house, plugged it in and it is working fine. All this was done just minutes ago so I do not know if the unit will keep on working properly.
I wanted to put this information out on the WWW to let others know that, if they have the same problem, this may be a solution.
If Companies want to operate in the US they should at least offer products made in this country and as consumers we should all demand that they do. It's not just that the Chinese make products that die prematurely wasting everyone's time and money, we need to realize that it takes the Earth's FINITE resources to make them and dispose of them as well.
Anyway, performance-wise the Delonghi TCH7690 Safeheat 28" tower ceramic heater is the same as any other 1500 Watt heater. Despite the marketing hype you may read from heater manufacturers, 1500 watts of input yields something under 1500 watts of output. That's it, I don't care how you slice it. So if you're in the market for a space heater, I would look for the most attractive, least expensive unit, made in America if it exists. And if not made in America at least backed by a US company that you can actually contact and who will gladly repair or replace the unit when (not if) it fails. This will not be too long if it's made in China.
Stay away from this product.
Amazon needs to do a better job of (a) quality control of products they sell, and (b) relaxing their Return policy when devices they sell/ship fail outright.

Since I already owned this same model Pelonis heater for 4 or 5 years, I was pleased to find it again and expected the same quality from the Pelonis brand. Unfortunately, this is not the case. The new heater's thermostat failed right after being turned on for the first time. Unlike my older heater, the new version now features a manual mode as if they do expect the thermostat to fail. With the manual mode, the heater can still be used by setting the speed, but it's definitely not as nice as the original one of this same model. It's also simply too much money to pay for something that does not work as described. Like most things these days, the quality is way less than products we used to be able to purchase with confidence.
And neither does this. For all the promised performance, cheaper existing heaters I own work better. This thing is not quiet, and ran a long time before providing measurable increase in temperature (one of few benefits of this heater is the digital temperature gauge that let me know how well it was not working).
I'm sure this product does well at heating small rooms or the underside of a desk, but for the price you can buy two heaters that do just as well.
Adding insult to injury, between the restocking fee and shipping, I ended up paying a third of the cost of the unit just to find out it did not work.
The new heater's fan doesn't ramp up as responsively as the original, and it seems the thermostat sensor, located on the cord, is much less sensitive than the older model, which is actually located inside the fan housing, making it far more sensitive to temp changes. I have to run the thermostat setting much higher, i.e. set it on 80-82 F to actually get a room temp of 75F. Maybe a redesign, placing the sensor inside, as it was previously, would cure this.
Those caveats aside, the heater puts out strong heat quickly, and will easily take care of an average-size living room, but not a huge room. Easily keeps a bedroom/bathroom toasty, once you get the 'stat calibrated to your preference

I purchased this item after reading the claimed performance. I have a room in the lower level of my house that is generally colder than the rest of the house. I bought this heater as an additional unit, my original Pelonis' fan bearing had become noisy after many years, but was still putting out great heat FAST. Actually, the bearing noise goes away after the unit warms up, just rather noisy until then. I've had the unit apart, but can't find how to service the bearing or replace it, probably not replaceable. So I bought the new one in case it finally dies. The new heater's fan doesn't ramp up as responsively as the original, and it seems the thermostat sensor, located on the cord, is much less sensitive than the older model, which is actually located inside the fan housing, making it far more sensitive to temp changes. We originally had the Holmes Whisper-Quiet heater and LOVED it and all the heat it pumped out. But the prong would get terribly hot and I worried about using it continually. I contacted Holmes customer service and they were awesome! They sent us a prepaid shipment box to return our little Holmes heater and replaced it with this model. I was skeptical because I have purchased so many crappy space-heaters over the past few years. (We have oil heat...ouch!) They assured me that if I wasn't happy with this heater, I could return in and they would send something else...really, I can't emphasize how great their customer satisfaction department is!
Well..from the start, this little heater made me happy. I keep it in the area of the house that I work in and it's quiet and very effective. The one and only criticism I have is that in the "eco-smart" setting...the heater switches back and forth between low to high setting, which you know is nice, but our other two space-heaters let me set the heat just on the low setting if I want. But other than that....it's terrific!

I have a panel bedroom that is approximately 15x15 and it's always freezing. I needed a good heater that was energy efficient. This heater warms up the whole room in about ten minutes! It doesn't have a remote but you can choose a temperature so I don't care about the remote and I've never had a better heater. Highly recommend it!Best Deals for Bionaire BCH7302-UM Oscillating Ceramic Tower Heater with LED

Ordered this for my roommate who lives in our apartment's sun room which has full length windows for most of the walls, meaning it was perpetually cold despite our central heating. The heater is very small, but heats up her room relatively quickly and thoroughly despite the cold coming in from the windows. The heat settings are nice, as is the rotation feature. Only con is, as noted, you can't put the heater just on low (unless you turn it to a lower temperature).Friday, March 7, 2014

This unit comes with its own wall switch: two rocker switches that control all four elements (light, night light, heater, and vent). Not needing the night light feature, at all, I decided to buy a separate Nutone switch Broan-Nutone P66W Fan Control Switch. The 3 unit switch works just fine.
The unit is heavy enough that it will get a bit tiresome installing it, but it's very sturdy overall. I am noticing some rattling issues, but it may not be level (there were three of us working on this, and I haven't had a chance to "check their work" yet...). Loosening the grille seems to silence the rattling somewhat.
We may just need to look things over again, but this fan doesn't pass the toilet paper test, at all. Holding a long, loose piece of tissue ON the fan doesn't even move the paper one iota. We may have something blocking the damper, but honestly, if we do everything we know to and there is still no suction? Those three stars are dropping to one. [09/16/11: We discovered that for whatever reason, using 2-ply toilet paper for your test yields the aforementioned results. 1-ply works just fine. hehe!]
The "heater" reminds me of a pellet stove in that it blows a lot of cold air around before the unit warms up; and even after warming up, the air still felt chilly because of the force of the fan (why can't the vent be this powerful and the heater be as calm as the vent??).
The particular model for sale on Amazon only comes with a white grille, but if you search the web for Nutone 9093CH you can find some sites offering the unit in chrome (likewise, there is a brass grille available as well. And the same site will sell you a grille only in the style of your choosing. Handy info to have if you're looking for this unit in something other than white.
The shipment was on time and packaged great.

This Nutone heater-vent is a replacement for a orginal installation. This was a perfect fit with the same wiring color code and hardware. The one I replaced had been in the house for over 30 years. The shipment was on time and packaged great.

The heater is very functional and puts out a lot of heat from the ceiling. At first I was was concerned it would not heat as much as a floor heater no problem. It is fairly quiet for it's output but would not win first prize. The vent and fan are about even in their noise. The nite lite feature designed for the old pre fluorescent days is a little silly as it only has space for a 7 watt small incandescent which draws 50% of a fluorescent bulb likely used. We still use it, however.Honest reviews on Nutone 9093WH Deluxe Heat-A-Ventlite 70 CFM 1500-Watt Heater
I purchased this NuTone Heat-a-Ventlite to replace an 18 year-old NuTone model in our most used bathroom. Although I'm a fairly handy guy, I could not believe how easy it was to replace. NuTone should be commended for NOT changing dimensions, wiring schematics, etc. I simply unplugged the wiring harness, tilted out the old unit, tilted in the new unit and plugged the old wiring harness back in. It took me longer to clean the fixture cavity than it did to replace the unit. I would Highly recommend this product if you're replacing a previous NuTone model.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Nutone 9093WH Deluxe Heat-A-Ventlite 70 CFM 1500-Watt Heater
Replaced a similar heater by Nutone we had for over 20 years. This new one is very quiet, but does not get as hot as the older one. The air coming from the newer one gets to 148 degrees while the older one registered over 170 degrees. Replaced the newer heater box with the older one, but the temperature did not change. So I assume the amount of power to the box has been intentionally reduced, possibly as a safety measure.Saturday, December 7, 2013
Reviews of Sunbeam Hot Shot Hot Water Dispenser
I've used a Hot Shot a whole lot for heating up water for drinking various types of tea and other beverages. If it's right for what you're brewing, it really is a great product--the water is heated within a minute or two, which is way faster than a kettle, and it holds the perfect amount for a large mug.
There are a couple things to note though. Like other reviewers have said, because of the product's design, some taller mugs (especially large vacuum-sealed caddy mugs) won't fit in to receive the water, so you either can't use them or have to dispense the water into another container first and pour it from there. Also, you definitely should empty the excess water after you're done--you might even want to open the lid while it's still warm to let the extra moisture evaporate. This is because the inside is metal, and re-re-reheated water that's been sitting in there gets a bit gross and might not be the healthiest.
The last issue, which affects me more than it may others, is that the Hot Shot heats the water to boiling or very near to boiling. This is great if you're drinking black tea, hot chocolate, or hot cider, but if you're drinking green tea (which takes hot water that is well below boiling), the water from the Hot Shot can be too hot and make the tea bitter. If it's right for the beverage you want to make, though, I can't recommend a more convenient or quick option.
We have used a Hot Shot for many years, replacing the first two because they eventually stopped heating water sufficiently (only up to 160 degrees F). Since they had become a mainstay in our kitchen, used several times a day, we were eager to replace the last one, and ordered the sleek new black model, which is of a somewhat different design than the original.
The first one we received from Amazon leaked considerably if we didn't use up all the water that had been heated, so we sent it back (Amazon paid for the entire return postage and sent us a new one at no extra cost). The second one leaked just like the first one, through the dispenser spout, when water was left to sit in the heating chamber. We never had this problem with the older model.
I am giving it two stars instead of only one, since some people may not mind being sure to empty the heating chamber after each use. (If it didn't leak, I would give it 4 stars -and 5 stars, if it were also tall enough to accomodate taller cups).
Also, a tall cup/mug won't fit under the spout. So I pour the water from one cup to another. I do like the old hot shot, saves time and electricity.I gave it one star because I do like the hot shot water heater, I just don't like this one.
UPDATE: A couple months after I wrote this review, there was a burning smell--the cheap thing burned out. Meanwhile it leaked water into the cabinets below and spoiled the food.
I went without one for a while, but eventually bought another one because I like the concept... put in cold water, press a button, come back to boiling water. I bought the cheapest I could find because it won't last. I'm just glad I don't have to replace all my other appliances every year.
I owned this for 150 days and then it quit. We took it apart, basically this design is living on borrowed time as the unit will eventually fail.
Sunbeam placed the actual electronic switch below the aluminum bowl part and on top of the plastic housing. The grey button on the top is nothing more than a lever to another piece that actually depresses the electronic switch below the aluminum bowl. The real electronic switch is less than an inch from where the water flows from the aluminum bowl and out the dispenser. That switch, also sits right next to the heating element. Now you don't need to be an engineer to know that electronics don't care for heat and they don't care for water. In our case the heat killed the electronic "on" switch. I am not sure where the previous model's (3211) actual "on" switch was, but it had to be in a smarter location that this for it to last TEN years.
So the old design, built in the US apparently lasted 10 years and the new design, made in China lasted 150 days. I should have read the 1-star reviews as I would have found that just about every owner of the previous model have had nothing but bad experience with this model. Don't discount the opinions of those that owned the previous model. I don't think I will ever buy another Sunbeam product again, this is just the tip of the iceberg.
P.S. The only reason we replaced our ten year old 3211 model was because the rubber or plastic seal in the dispenser part had worn out and the unit would leak while dispensing.

I've used a Hot Shot for at least 20 years and won't go without one. But they are made real cheap now. My son is still using the one he bought over 10 years ago. I had this less than a year when it leaked, and is getting worse. Put water in, press the button. Before you get the water poured in and put the cup under the spout it is dripping, real fast now. By the time the water is heated, if I grab it real quick I lose about 2 tbsp. (in about a minute). If I don't catch it right away it will leak enough so I have to warm up more water to make a full cup. I keep a towel under the spout now. This worked good for a few months. Think about it, if every small appliance in your kitchen had to be replaced within a year......Also, a tall cup/mug won't fit under the spout. So I pour the water from one cup to another. This product has been around for over a decade, and for good reason: it works, and works well. My mother bought me one in Fall 1993 when I went off to college and lived in a tiny dorm room. It has served me well ever since. Nearly 12 years later, it still works as well as the day I got it. It really does heat 16 ounces of water to boiling in under 2 minutes. It's insulated so the outside does not get hot. Just remember to only heat water inside of it, not other liquids. It has a nice, clean look and a modern design which I'd even call "cute". The cord stores underneath the base when not in use, for a clutter-free appearance. I'd recommend it to everyone for a wide variety of situations.Saturday, November 23, 2013

Buy LG Art Cool LMAN095HVT 9,000 Class BTU Multi-System Wall-Mounted
I got the LAN095HV (replaced by a newer model with almost the same model number)
These are good units. I will buy more.
Bought mine from AirConditioner.com a couple of years ago. It is cheap to run, 19 SEER I think.
This one require 220volt power.
Here is more info... http://s3.pexsupply.com/manuals/1273258597705/30013_PROD_FILE.pdf
I did the install and had the HVAC guy do the final hook-up and charge the system with freon.
Took him an hour or so.
One of the things about it I don't like is whenever you make an adjustment with the remote
it beeps and turns on a blue light on the unit up on the wall.
Not good when partner is asleep.
Looked thru the owners manual and online; anyone know how to turn off light and beep?
Oh, and LG doesn't offer a labor warranty so make sure you have a reputable installer who'll give you a decent warranty if you decide to buy an LG unit.
