we bought two of these heaters a long time ago, one for our garage and one to warm our chilly bedroom with a bad radiator.
they worked great, nice and warm, (the way we like it) then our one in the garage stopped working and burnt out in the flood (hurricane sandy when we had no power) we found that out when it came back on, so we tossed out the old one and used the good one (which was in the bedroom) that one worked great until my husband was in the garage and my son came to give him some papers. he accidentally kicked the holmes heater off the stool and onto the concrete floor. he tried to put it back on heat level one, but what happens?...... It starts making a GRINDING noise and emitting a horrible burning smell. so he unplugged it for ten minutes and let my 10 yr old open it up and saw that the fan belt somewhat damaged and the blade just wobbling loose inside witch caused the fan not to function right and that caused the heating coil to overheat.
I hope you find my review helpful! I still do give this heater five stars cause it's not the heater's fault, we broke it. BUT if you want to try what my son did about fixing it, UNPLUG THE UNIT FIRST!!! For at least 10 minutes.
thanks

The markup price was to high.I check around after receive the heater and found my niece had the same heater and she paid $88.00. The huge discount what had been attract my attenion but I have found the markup price is so high and when they discount you think you are getting a huge saving but you are not.I bought this unit for my grams because of it's good looking. I did not know the flame brightness is adjustable and the product comes with a remote. Both feature made it really easy to use, especially at night. Unlike other heater fans, this heater is that the heat comes from the bottom, which means it warms up your feet first, which means it heats up your body gradually and evenly. Compare to other products on the market, I find the pricing of this product is reasonable. $170 isn't a small amount nor large amount, but in the category of this price range, this product definitely falls out to be one of the best. If you budget is $200 or below, this product is definitely highly recommended.

This is a great kettle. I've used plastic electric kettles for years but with concern about plastics in the food chain, I purchased this kettle. The design makes the kettle very stable on the counter. Wiping the kettle down with a microfiber cloth will keep the brushed stainless finish looking fine. Instructions say not to use vinegar to remove scale that builds up in the kettle. I do it anyway as I have done in all kettles I've owned. Boil 1 part vinegar and 5 parts water in the kettle, let it rest for awhile, pour it off and boil a pot of plain water to get rid of vinegar and scale residue and kettle will run quietly and efficiently. Enjoy!
every time. It still works but is suffering from wear. The new one is better engineered: no port in the lid to emit burning hot vapor; the handle is positioned out of way of the steam.
update 4-19-2013 on and off switch failure under light use loss of quality from last one seeking alternative.
It's a relatively quiet, fast boiler, and is a handsome brushed steel finish. Be aware that the lid is a bit too snug, so you may need to adjust the tangs that hold the thing on (use needlenose pliers). It's attractive enough and stable on the base. To keep the inside clean, empty out the unit and stand it upside down with the lid off, overnight.
The fact that it's made in China is not itself a negative. It seems that most electric kettles, cordless or otherwise, do not live up to the reputation of their predecessors.

Severe disappointment. This is the second of this model in less than 12 months on which the on/off switch has gone faulty. It's not true 'Russell Hobbs' like the old British days -that name was sold off. If you boil water only two or three times a day, this might serve. I use it an average of once every hour to 90 minutes, and the switch is not up to the job. It's a relatively quiet, fast boiler, and is a handsome brushed steel finish. I had purchased a tea kettle 7 years ago, had a larger base and heated alot faster. The newer model is sleeker looking but I prefer the heat time for the older model.Wednesday, July 23, 2014
Best Mr. Coffee MWBLK Mug Warmer Deals
As with everything, I went on a search of all mug warmers in the universe before buying this one. I found a universal complaint of ALL mug warmer reviewers (of any brand) was "doesn't get hot enough" (especially the USB models). I think the manufacturers walk a thin line between "doesn't get hot enough" and setting the house on fire.
Initially, I tried putting a cold cup of coffee upon my new Mr. Coffee and was disappointed in the warmer's ability to heat up an already cold cup of coffee. (tried both metal and ceramic mug)
The good news is that if you put a fresh hot cup of coffee right from the coffee maker onto the "burner" that it does a pretty good job in keeping it hot from that point. I review this as satisfactory performance and give extra credit for its slim and sleek design.
The bottom line, is that any hotplate style coffee warmer depends on maximum surface area contact with the bottom of your mug. If you have a mug that is broad and flat at the bottom, filling the heating surface of the warmer, it will work great. If you mug is very narrow at the bottom or arches up so that only the edge is touching, the heater cannot be as effective.
You should either buy a different mug, or forego this energy wasting method altogether, in favor of a well insulated stainless steel vacuum mug like the ones from Contigo. Personally, I like the taste of coffee best out of a real mug, so I continue to use this warmer, just with a broad based mug.

I bought my Mr. Coffee mug warmer locally at a store. I wasn't expecting much out of it because of the reviews about it here on Amazon, but hey it was really cheap, under ten bucks. I was pleasantly surprised at how it kept my cup of tea consistently very warm throughout the day while I'm at work. This is how hot the heating plate can get: put a drop or two of water on it, and the drops will sizzle and evaporate quickly. The key to getting the best experience out of using the Mr. Coffee mug warmer is to use with a cup of HOT tea/coffee/soup/whatever. It won't make your cold beverage hot again (use a microwave for that).Best Deals for Mr. Coffee MWBLK Mug Warmer
I've had it for several months now, using it daily, and it's performed very well! Here is the deal with temperatures. If you place a hot cup of tea/coffee on it, it keeps it hot! Not the burn your tongue hot. As you drink, the cup becomes less full, and actually heats the contents more. Also, I've placed a half full cup of cold coffee on it, and it heated it up to a nice warm temperature within a few minutes. The heating plate will accommodate larger coffee mugs. The only disadvantage I've noticed with it is the counter gets rather warm were it is placed, so keep flammables and paper away to be safe. Also it does not have a auto shutoff that I'm aware of, however I have it plugged into a power box with motion control, so if I leave my desk for a long period it will shut off. I also try to make sure the bottom of my mug is dry before setting the cup down on it, to keep the heating plate clean. So if your like me and like sipping on tea or coffee at the office, with out going to refill for a hot cup every time your liquids get cold, then you'll be happy with this warmer.Honest reviews on Mr. Coffee MWBLK Mug Warmer
A lot of reviewers have stated that this hot plate does not get warm enough to keep your coffee hot. I disagree, but also think I know why they are having that experience. How well this warmer works is extremely sensitive to the shape of your coffee mug, in particular the way that the bottom is. I did some controlled experiments to determine how much heat this warmer puts into a liquid in a cup and found as much as 30 degrees of variation between different mugs of the same or similar material. The bottom line, is that any hotplate style coffee warmer depends on maximum surface area contact with the bottom of your mug. I don't know why so many people have trouble with this item. My mother-in-law gave this to me well over a month ago and I think it's the greatest thing since TIVO. The key is to use a regular size cup with a flat bottom (not the ginormous ceramic cups that are more like SOUP bowls and only have a tiny bottom), and to put it on the warmer as soon as you pour the coffee into the cup. It WILL keep it not just warm, but HOT. It is 3:30 in the afternoon right now and I am still sipping on a HOT cup of coffee that I poured at 8:00 this morning. The lower the liquid gets, the hotter it gets, so be careful. I've also found that putting a piece of paper over the cup (like a piece of junk mail or an old CD case--without the CD inside, of course) will infinitely increase the heat factor, though it's not too safe and really isn't necessary (I've done it a few times when the dogs were shedding and my husband wanted the ceiling fans on didn't want dog hair in my cup, so I covered it...and it was so hot I burned my tongue.) Regardless, this item (the Mr. Coffee Mug *WARMER*) is not meant to heat up cold liquids; that's what microwaves were invented for. This is a great product when used properly and at the very least, it does what it was intended to do: keep beverages warm.Monday, June 2, 2014

Hot water in my flask doesn't stay hot enough for a whole day out, and this is a good way to bring my tea or coffee up to temperature. I haven't tried heating water from cold it is always at least warm when I start. It takes several minutes and the wait can be a bit tedious, but it does a good job. The clip which is supposed to hold the heater onto the side of the mug doesn't (it flops about), so I have to hold it to keep it properly immersed. It cools off quickly and is reasonably easy to clean with a small brush.
Great gadget. Much better than the plug in mugs that fail quickly.
I just finished the trip on Saturday Sept. 4th and any hot coffee during my trip was purchased from various vendors enroute so I wasted $16.98 on the item and shipping cost. WHAT A PIECE OF CRAP!

This is a good product. I use it in a stainless coffee mug in the car. Sometimes the cigarette lighter plug on the Road Pro will melt if you leave it on too long. Radio shack part number 270-1521 is a much more robust plug. I just crunch the old plug up and cut the metal tabs with the wires soldered to them from the original plug and put them in the holes in the Radio Shack heavy duty plug and it is fixed and lasts forever. I leave the LED connected and it indicates when it is plugged in.Great gadget. Much better than the plug in mugs that fail quickly.

I purchased this item as a gift for my son. He is an over the road truck driver and I thought this would be nice so he could make coffee of a morning. He used it twice and it burned out. It may be that it was just a defective product, but on the other hand at a cost of about $12, it is not worth taking the chance. I would have returned the product, but it may be months before I see him again, and he had already discarded the packaging. My loss could be your gain. Don't buy!Honest reviews on RoadPro RPBH-012 12V Beverage Heater
I bought this item to heat water so that I could keep hot coffee during a 5-day cross-country road trip. (Without having to pull over to purchase it...) The product specifications indicates that the so-called "metal" clip would attach neatly to most "CERAMIC" coffee cups. Firstly, the "metal clip" is NOT METAL but some type of hard plastic. I chose a ceramic cup with the narrowest rim to be sure it would accomodate the space allowed for the clip to engage. However, as soon as I placed the clip on the rim of the my cup, the clip snapped off! (With little or NO pressure!!)I just finished the trip on Saturday Sept. 4th and any hot coffee during my trip was purchased from various vendors enroute so I wasted $16.98 on the item and shipping cost. Although the other reviews were not promising I gave it a chance. Wrong! The heater was in pieces on arrival, the tip was unscrewed. I put it back together, used it once and the tip melted. I had used the 110v units years ago and although they didn't last very long, I decided to give this a chance, as I work from a vehicle. Don't waste your time or money.Tuesday, May 6, 2014

Reviews of SpendLessOnHeat 1500 Tuscan Mahogany Infrared Heater
I don't know what Hunters problem is the heater was never designed to have a timer which turns on/off at specific times so his isn't broken. He has unrealistic expectations. We are cozy comfey.
When it does turn on (which has been about five times this winter) it won't turn off automatically so the room just got hotter and hotter until i turned it off. I can't program it to turn on/off at certain times because that part doesn't work.
I called customer service (which is lousy-you can't get them half the time after waiting a long time) and they told me to do this and that which i did, but nothing worked. I bought it in the summer when it became available so by the time i tried using it in the winter the money back guarantee was over.
So i'm stuck with a $400 piece of garbage.
P.S. I have seen other reviews that say these units break down a lot. I never got mine to work long enough to break down these other ways. Do your homework and read the customer reviews online. This is too much money to throw away.

Comfort Zone heater SUCKS. I bought one of these heaters and am thoroughly disappointed. It will not turn on until it is really cold, like around 40-45 degrees or so.
