I purchased two of these heaters brand new and both cannot have the second tube lit up (the advertised 1500w setting) without overheating and shutting off less than a minute later. This is with them sitting in the middle of two cold rooms, one being the garage with its own breaker box.

These are obviously built poorly and untested afterwards. There is no possible way these are safe to use.

Might as well add that the 750w setting does not overheat being left on, but the heat it puts out is useless for the size of this thing. Its big, and to only be putting out the heat of smaller units, its useless.

I personally will not buy another Comfort Zone product because these were so disappointing.

We purchased five units some five years ago, in our new house. They were installed professionally. Saved a ton of money over conventional air conditioning. We love the concept, and at first the units all workd fine. Quiet, cool, etc. We also saved money by heatine or cooling only the rooms we use. (Why cool a spare bedroom 24/7?) Zone cooling at its easiest. Energy efficient.

But getting service has been a nightmare, and three of units today are not functional Warranty? Don't make me laugh. A new compressor will cost just about what a new unit will cost, and shipping by pallet is so expensive (that's the only way, they say) that it's cheaper to toss the entire unit and buy a new one.

We'll buy new ones, alright, but not from this company.

We just had this unit installed last wednesday. Yesterday we noticed the unit was not heating. We called the installer and he determined that the condensor line was leaking and that we needed a new outdoor unit. We have to pay shipping on the unit for Heat and Cool on an item that is brand spanking new, plus will have to pay to have the new unit installed. This is so wrong. It is obvious that customer satisfaction is not a priority with this company. I would not recommend anyone buying any product from them if you can help it.

Update, Heat and cool paid for shipping both ways and 3 weeks ago replaced at no charge the controller board which was fried by lightning. Increasing rating to 4 stars.

Normally before investing in an appliance or other major purchase, my husband and I read product reviews and comparison shop. This time we let our builder make the decision and didn't question when he put in a Klimaire. It was installed in May and has never, EVER cooled properly. After two service calls, and now that we are in a triple-digit heat wave, it has been determined that the condenser has a leak, and we need a warranty repair. After reading other reviewers' experience with the company and the Klimaire "warranty," I can see where this is heading. I really don't know what to do about it other than warn others not to make the same mistake.

the install was pretty staight forward. It took me about 2 weeks of an hour here and there after work to get everything done. I LOVE the unit, it is quiet and cool. People always ask about it and its easy on the electricity bill. Dont make the mistake I made and move the condenser lines after the freon is in circulation. The nuts that hold the lines together can loosen, and the the freon will escape into the ether. Then, you will have to call your AC person to come take your money.

I have a 9k btu klimaire mini-split working fine. Two pieces of advice: When assembling use Nylog Blue assembly sealant at all metal to metal connections..works great. 2-If using cheap vacuum pump heat up the evaporator coils with a hair blow dryer;makes up for the poor pump capacity.

This warmer works very well in the "warming" department, but before purchasing, be aware of the following:

the cord is very short, so you will probably need an extension cord.

the on/off switch is located half way down the cord, so you have to reach for it a bit... It would be much better if the on/off switch was on the warmer unit itself.

the bottom "feet" are made of hard plastic, so it "slides" on hard surfaces and can scratch your furniture. It would be much better if it had rubber feet.

Other than that, it's a nice product.

I read a ton of reviews for all the different cup warmers. None of them seemed to work. This one does. The drinks stay hot, but not as hot as when they were first brewed, of course. At least they aren't lukewarm. The cup gets hot too so be careful. I even use it for my 32 oz Bodum press tea pot. I set the pot right on the burner and my tea stays warm enough to enjoy for hours not scalding, but between warm and hot.

You have to start with hot liquid. It will not heat cold or lukewarm drinks. The bottom of the cup has to fit flat on the hot plate. Without full contact, you will lose the heat. A super thick cup won't keep the liquid as hot as a thinner one. I tried my 3/8" thick glass latte cup, but it stayed only lukewarm. My regular cermaic and glass coffee and tea mugs work perfectly. The wider the bottom of the cup, the better. A pedastle cup has less surface contact so less heat is transferred to the cup.

There's an on and off roller switch on the cord itself. It seems some other models don't offer that feature. I also like the chunky "marble texture" look of this one. The seller (not amazon) delivered very fast too (less than a week). I'm very satisfied.

I could not be happier with this coffee warmer. my old one at 9 watts (stated on bottom of product) had coffee getting cold after one hour. this 24 watt warmer keeps coffee hot but not scolding, and for at least 4+ hours, which is as long as I've used it so far. Plus I love the on/off switch on the plug opposed to on the stand. When on the stand, a little spilt coffee will highly affect the on/off button operation, not on the plug though! The base is wide too, I can fit my wide 18 oz mug on the warmer with room to spare. I love and highly recommend this product for anyone wanting to keep a beverage hot for hours and hours.

The product is advertised with a 3.75" diameter heated surface. That is why I ordered it, since I do have other cup warmers, but I have some mugs with wide bases that do not fit on them. To my disappointment, it is not as advertised the warming surface is 3.5" across the entire black (heated) part, and only 3.25" across the flat USABLE part of the heated surface. I would have returned it, but it was so cheap the cost of returning it would be about 1/2 the cost of the refund. So it is in the closet as a replacement for when one of my other mug warmers wears out and I'm very disappointed.

We purchased two of these beautiful coffee makers for our church. I have returned and replaced them both and now one of the replacements has also broken. I have only had the other replacement for three uses so we will see how long it lasts! It boils too hard and over, The sight glass leaks, The coffee won't actually perk and 40 minutes later you find out you have "HOT" water -no coffee. Very frustrating product. Very expensive. Bought locally (though I normally love Amazon). I have a 20x20 garage, 400 sq feet. This portable A/C is cooling the garage nicely. Initially, just testing it, I vented it through a hole I made in the concrete block wall. It didn't seem to be cooling very well. Some of the heat from the vent hose was not making it out the new hole, but escaping into my garage. I didin't want to put much effort into the hole until I felt like this A/C would be worth my time. I fretted, and considered it. Then I decided to go ahead and make a proper whole, sealed, with the dryer-vent-flap on the outside of the garage now no hot air is escaping from the vent into the garage all the hot air is going outside professional looking job I think. Whalla. I like this A/C. You have to wrap insulation around the vent hose since it gets hot and will just radiate that heat into your room. We have an insullated ceiling and an insulated garage door. Hot southern USA. We use our garage sometimes for crafting and similar activities... this A/C will do nicely. Yes, I've only had it for 24 hours, but... happy

I purchased this unit through Amazon several months ago, and am glad I did. No more suffering through the intense summer heat in a one bedroom, non air conditioned apartment.

The unit itself is relatively easy to set up. As my unit was shipped via Fed-ex, I had to initially let it sit upright, non-operating, for a day in order for the refrigerant fluid to settle and prevent damage. Other than that, you simply plug in the unit, connect the collapsible vent hose from the unit to the window (via window adapter), and turn it on. It takes less than 5 minutes to cool my living room to my preferred comfort temperature (about 75 degrees inside while high 80's/90's outside).

In over 2 months of use, I opened the drain plug only once, and there were only a few small drips of liquid that came out. The evaporate cooling technology worked great for me, and those who have had issues with leaks in the Pinguino models must have had defective units.

Regardless of what unit you buy, don't settle for anything less than 12,000 BTU's for a portable AC. 14,000 BTU's would be better for larger rooms and houses.

I do have a few issues with this unit. One, as Pflorky mentions, is that the vent only blows air upwards at an angle. It would have been nice to be able to change the direction of air flow. The second is that the unit can be a bit noisy, necessitating raising the volume of the television by several points. I don't think it's so loud that it will make you deaf, but it can be noticeable. This is a minor quibble, as I would rather be cool and comfortable than suffering and miserable from the heat.

Last, depending on the style and size of your window you choose to vent from, you may need to 'jury rig' something to properly vent the unit. I have a sliding style window in the living room (side to side), and the opening is nearly 5 feet from top to bottom. The window adapter that came with the unit was too short to completely fill in the gap, so I used some boarding and tape to seal off any openings.

Overall I am very happy that I purchased this unit.

My experience with this unit it that it is a bit noisy but cools and dehumidifies VERY well. It was a good purchase and helps supplement my inadequate central AC during the crazy Chicago heat waves. HOWEVER.... I have had to get creative and sit it in a pan intended to go under a water heater or shwer... as it leaks much of the water/ vapor that is formed when it works hard. Typically the 4x4 foot pan ends up with about 3/8 of an inch of water in it. If I could get help knowing what size fitting is required to attach a hose I'd just put it in the window... but this was an emergency measure as my hardwood floor was under attack...

Overall I'd give this an Aas it cools better than my more expensive SHARP... but the SHARP has features this one doesn't have and is not "having accidents".

This is exactly what is says it is. It connects a throwaway propane tank to a 1/4 inch female pipe thread. Works well; the only thing you have to keep in mind is the pressure of the gas. The gas inside propane tanks is under high pressure, so you'll most likely need a pressure regulator.

I purchased this product to heat and cool a small well insulated office space of approximately 160 square feet. It's supposed to heat 350 square feet. During the summer months I was quite pleased with the cooling. When I needed heat this fall I was greatly disappointed. The air from the front grill is barely warm. It took an hour and forty-five minutes to raise the room temperature from fifty-five degrees to sixty-five degrees. When I called Frigidaire's Customer Service I was told this unit was only to be used as a "supplemental heat source". Meaning I had to have a primary heat source to heat the room before this Frigidaire heater would do any good. Nothing in the advertising information says anything about this being a "supplemental heat source". Instead of purchasing this product, go to Walmart and buy a room air conditioner for $150 and two small "milkhouse" electric heaters for $40.00 each. Even one 1800 watt "milkhouse" heater will put out more heat than the Frigidaire and be much cheaper to operate.

I would not recommend purchasing this product.

I paid a contractor to remove my old unit, the only source of heat in the condo. He installed the Frigidaire and everything but the heat works. The heat comes on for two minutes, then shuts off, all the lights start blinking and it beeps until I shut it down. I've been on the phone with Frigidaire, who state that the unit is unfixable and also that they cannot find any Frigidaire contractor to replace it. Therefore, the only option is that they will refund my money for the purchase but not my installation costs. In the meantime, it has been a week and a half.....I have no heat. I have to find the serial number stickers on the unit to return with my receipt to Frigidaire in order to "start" the refund process. (my contractor will have to come back over to do this and I will have to pay him again.) I'm very upset and now will not purchase anything frigidaire again.

I bought this heater for my front room where I teach music lessons. That room has always been hard to heat, but now it's easy to get it nice and cozy in there. The room is about 400 square feet and within about 30 minutes after turning on this nice little heater, the room starts filling up with warmth. I'm so glad that it's stylish and doesn't look awkward in my front room like other space heaters would. I also love how safe it is, the top and sides don't get hot and even the grill where the heat comes out doesn't get hot enough to burn. One neat feature we did not except was the unit iself (the black part) is cool to the touch even while its blowing out MASSIVE heat. We are pleased with this purchase and the temperature thermostat works well and is pretty responsive. It is noisy, but to be expected with the amount of heat/pressure. We have had temperatures in the 0 to 20 degree range and on the lowest setting it keeps our shop around 57 degrees. We could heat it up to 80 if we wanted to pretty quick, but are being conservative with the diesel fuel we are using to keep costs down. We went through 2 heaters before we found this one, we will keep it!!

This heater heated my 30X50ft garage in the winter

with no problem. I burn #1 fuel oil in it and it does not

give off any odor.

I like the idea of a built in thermostat and also a pump

pressure gauge. It is a bit noisy and does like its fuel

but all in all I would recommend it to anyone.
