I have a Dimplex 7.5KW garage heater, and this switch lets you bypass the heating elements so that you can use the heater as a fan in the warm weather.
The heater had cutouts and mounting space available for the unit, so installation only took a few minutes. It wires right in following the schematic on the underside of the heater...all in all, a neat looking installation.
Only complaint is that it seems to me this should be a standard built-in part of the heater, not something that you have to pay extra for. Otherwise, it does the job and transforms your garage/workshop heater into something usable year-round.

Reviews of SEI Claremont Media Console with Electric Fireplace
Just finished putting it together and giving her a test run. Good to great quality. Looks great, easy assembly. They say "glass remains cool to the touch" which is 100% accurate and why we purchased for our living room thinking we wouldn't have to worry about our 14 month old burning himself. HOWEVER, what they don't tell you (until you get it and see the big warning sticker) is that the grid directly above the glass and exposed to everyone gets VERY VERY HOT. NOT good for kids or even animals. That being said, we really like it and still think it is a great value.
Now a couple of hints that will make the assembly easier: When you open the box, have a vacumm cleaner near by to remove the styrofoam from the items, due to static, the styrofoam is difficult to remove from the wood, but the vacumm will make cleanup easier as you remove from the packing. Inventory your parts and check off the paper as you locate them and then spread them out for easy recognition. Before you start assembling, spread a blanket on the floor to eliminate potential scratching, then follow the step by step instructions and take your time. Took approx 2.5 hours to assemble, this included removing stickers after the items were assembled (leave stickers on until assembled), the cam locks require a #2 phillips screwdriver, but I suggest using a #2 flat screwdriver to get the cams tight, then go back with the phillips to break the edges of the slots, this will allow the cover caps to be inserted into the cam. I utilized the corner shelf on the back of the console, so it would fit in the corner of the room and it is mounted on hinges, so if you want to eventually put it on a wall the shelf will just fold down.
The heater insert comes with a remote control that allows you to adjust the lights in the logs and also adjust the intensity of the flames. The remote will also turn the heat on / off as you need, there is a temperture switch located in a hidden panel that will allow you to set the heat and will shut off automatically once the temperture is reached. Very pleased with the realistic look of the logs / flame and also the adjustable shelfs that are located on each side of the console behind glass doors.
Downside: The media shelf is only 13" deep, did not allow my cable box to fully sit on the shelf without overhanging in the front, but by eliminating the back plate on the console, this was easily rectified.
Overall for the money, this was a great addition to my living room and the 55"flat screen looks great sitting on top.
negative issues as well. The console arrives complely unassembled. Mine arrived with some damage. I contaced customer service and they were helpful but I decided to repair the damage myself rather than to pack it all up again and return it.
Assembly is not all that easy. A number of the pre-drilled holes were way to small to hand screw into unless you are a professional body builder. So I had to re-drill many of the screw holes. The assembly instructions are pretty good but the print is very small and difficult to read.
The burner unit arrives seperately. The manual specifies / suggests a dedicated electrical circuit, so for safety's sake I installed a new circuit. I already had a proper breaker, room in my panel, wire and outlet box. so it didn't cost me anything but time. If you can't do this yourself it might add a couple hunderd dollars to your costs to hire an electrician and to buy the necessary components.
I'm fairly handy and this not my first rodeo but it took me about 5 hours to complete this project. One more thing, the packing material flaked apart and made a big mess that was unavoidable no matter how carefull I was to not make a mess.
In spite of the experience being an overall P.I.T.A. the end result is a nice looking and relatively inexpensive corner electric fireplace / tv stand.
They would not even discuss it with me. They told me they were sorry they could not help (all they said) amazon
was wonderful they tried everything to help even calling southern enterprises to try to find a solution. Amazon was told the same thing. My advice don't buy anything this company makes. Amazon was great. I will buy from them again.

This was my 1st time ordering thru Amazon and my experience was rewarding. I was a little worried about ordering something on line without actually seeing it, pictures don't always give the proper representation of the product that is displayed. With that said, I am very pleased with the Electric fireplace that I recieved, it came in two boxes (one being the wooden console and the other the fireplace insert)and the UPS agent brought right into the house for me.Now a couple of hints that will make the assembly easier: When you open the box, have a vacumm cleaner near by to remove the styrofoam from the items, due to static, the styrofoam is difficult to remove from the wood, but the vacumm will make cleanup easier as you remove from the packing. This corner unit fireplace takes some time to put together. I would say at least 1 hour. The firebox had an issue when first plugged in, the heater blower sounded like a sneaker in dryer (clunk, clunk). We took off the back panel and discovered that through shipping a metal plate had fallen onto a rotating piece. We pushed it back into place and the unit is working just fine. It looks real nice holding a flat screen tv and the cable components and dvd player fit perfectly. Yes, I would recommend it.Honest reviews on SEI Claremont Media Console with Electric Fireplace
This is a nicely designed console. It fits perfectly in the corner where I installed it and it looks good. But there are somenegative issues as well. The console arrives complely unassembled. This heater works like a charm! Before starting my review, please take note that it is NOT meant to heat the air in a room and bring up the temperature. This type of heater heats the objects that are within it's distance.
That being said, let's get to the good and the bad. Overall I give this 5 stars. When I first mounted the heater above my workbench too high (10') and could not feel the heat very well. I dropped it down to around 7 feet and that was the ticket!
Works great for a close proximity spot heater. Perfect if hanging out with friends in the garage having a beer and a smoke.
There are two things I did not like about the heater, but they are both fixable and I recommend you do this. First, the little light that is built in is rather annoying. There are three settings you have to choose from. Pull the string once (I) and it turns on the light. Pull it again (II)and the unit turns on one of the two heating elements. Pull the string a third (III) time and both the heating elements turn on.
Oh, and that annoying light stays on the whole time. You cannot have the heater on and the light off. So I pulled the bulb. Simple fix.
Second downfall is the mounting bracket. It is NOT rugged enough to keep the heater solid when using the pre-drilled slot holes that come in the bracket. Simple fix...drill two holes of your own. The farthest left and right sides of the bracket as you can. Also utilize the hole in the center of the bracket for extra support.
The unit can be 'clipped' on to the bracket upside down as well, if you'd rather the pull string/power cord be on the opposite side.
Hope this helps anyone looking to purchase. Just remember it's not meant to heat the air, only the object in front of it.

Update: September 26th, 2013 I am ordering my second unit. The first one had a good life and it is still working, however one bulb is out and it isn't worth just buying the bulb. We've continued to be happy with this unit. I would agree with others that this is more a space heater than an overall air heater. We use the chains to extend it down because it wouldn't give the heat we were looking for being mounted to the garage ceiling.
A simple plug in ceiling mounted directional heater.
Writing this review while sitting outside under it. I live in Western Washington near Seattle. There are many rainy days, like right now, where I want to sit outside under my covered patio but the low to mid 40 degree weather drives me back inside when my fingers start chilling from the cold and make typing tough. About 4 feet above me this works just fine. However, I can imagine if the temp was 30 something or lower and/or with a decent breeze then the heat would not be enough. Keep in mind this unit plugs into a standard 15 amp outlet so don't expect blazing BTU's.
Install was simple and tomorrow I will install an electrical socket a few feet from it (instead of the extension cable I am now using temporarily).
For the price I have no complaints, however, I would have liked a few things that this does not.
1. An On/off switch for the light. Didn't see one but I could be wrong as I set this up in the dark.
2. More heat. However, I did the math on this real quick. At 1500 watts it is drawing 12.5amps at 120 volts so this is about as much as you can get away with. Some older breakers that can't hold constant 15amp draw (and/or may have a few other things running on the same circuit) will 'trip' open. So, this is about as powerful as it gets on standard home wiring. Can't complain there!
In closing, great little unit, quick install, and after I put an outlet near it, will look like a professional setup. Note: Off set an outlet at least 1 foot away so it is not directly above the unit and make sure to tie the excess cabling off away from the unit as the whole thing does get pretty toasty :).
Under the amp meter, it came it at about 12.5 amps. So its pulling its rating. This uses up all of a residential circuit, or three quarters of a standard shop circuit.
The heat produced is very reasonable. Mounted about 8 feet up, it heats an area about 8ftx8ft.
Remember this is an infrared heater. The air will not warm, the objects it shines on will warm. Similar to sunlight.

It is just what we expected. We have it hanging from two chains (one on each side) so that it is lower for our dogs in the garage. Seems to work well. I appreciate the on/off cord. We don't utilize the light, but it does work. I tried to find something like this a couple of years ago and couldn't find one. I was looking for a heater to attach to my patio wall. It was advertised as a wall or ceiling heater. When I got it, it said it was for a ceiling only. We did install the heater, but you can barely feel any heat. I live in Calif., so I am not overworking the heater. I would not recommend it to anyone.Friday, June 13, 2014
Best Haier ESA408J 8000-BTU Room Air Conditioner Energy Star with Remote Deals
I had never heard of Haier Air Conditioners, and was desperate because of the heat. I paid 199.00 with 19 dollars shipping, opened the box and installed it in the window very easily. Outside temp was 92 with 90% humidity inside temp was 84 in my 23x 15 foot living room with 3 windows and 2 open doors. I put it in "Cool" mode set at 72 degrees. In 2 hours inside temp was 72 degrees with a flood of water pouring out the back of the AC to the outside.By the time "Dangerous Catch" came on in 4 hours, I had turned it down using the remote control to energy saver mode and it cycled on and off all night long keeping the inside temp between 74 and 71 degrees. I had read the horror stories about this unit and thought I might have made a mistake ordering it, but that was not the case. This AC works well, it's not very noisy, It has a pretty big room to cool with windows and open doors across the room from the unit and nothing is in it's favor but it was up to the task and did what it was supposed to do !!! It was shipped 1/2 the way across the country and I got it in 6 days. I may buy another 1 just like it after watching this 1 close for a week or two. The remote control is handy too because the unit is located behind a big computer desk making it hard to really touch the front controls.
product when i'm looking to make a purchase.
Yesterday I purchased this product from Walmart for several reasons.
Mainly because I have two 5000 BTU Haier air conditions purchased two
years ago that run year around and don't run up my electric bill nor trip
the breaker in my 120 year old house, also the packaging was impressive the box tells you everything, so i chose the 8000 btu because
the eer rating was 10.4 it covers up to 350 sf which is great and the price was less than $200. I also like that the vents rotate.
My bedroom was 95 degrees no kidding when we installed the a/c within
an hour it was down to 84 so I felt obligated to post to let others know
this a/c is a great buy for the price and will last thru many hot summers.

The fan is out of balance, causing the window to shake. The discharge grill is supposed to be adjustable, but it is so tight the flimsy lever is likely to break off if you try. The thermostat seems to sense the output air instead of the inlet air. The unit cycles on/off, on/off with the room still at 77* while the thermostat is set to 70*. It does a poor job of broadcasting the air into the room, so it is cool right in front of the unit but hot across the room.Honest reviews on Haier ESA408J 8000-BTU Room Air Conditioner Energy Star with Remote
My window is on the left side of the wall. I knew before buying that Haier units tend to broadcast air better to the right (most other brands to the left). (Helps to read Consumer Reports). The unit cools faster and better than any unit I've used before. It is a touch louder, though. The thermostat seems to read the temp of air after it is pulled back into the intake so if the fan cycles off it will be off a few degrees. As soon as the fan restarts the temp reading will immediately readjust. It does a fine job of cooling a difficult room. If you need a quiet unit or one that cools more towards the left, pick another brand. It was under 100 bucks on clearance at a local big box store, so I'm very happy.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Haier ESA408J 8000-BTU Room Air Conditioner Energy Star with Remote
I'm not sure if all the units are the same but mine came without the metal piece that screws on top enabling the plastic piece to slide in and out. This prevents proper support to the window when closed down and the plastic is fragile and has already cracked. Also there's no drain hole. I had to remove the two screws at the back at the bottom in order to drain the water. Its almost impossible to drain holes without damaging some internal parts. Other than that the unit works well.Thursday, May 8, 2014

This electric log works for us. The light sort of slowly pulsates. It is a little too bright but we put some real wood around it and it is much better. The crackling noises are not realistic, but you don't have to turn them on. All in all, it looks nice in the fireplace behind the screens. It doesn't call attention to itself and people don't think anything about it, assuming there is a low hearth fire in the fireplace, unless they really look closely.

This product is as advertised, although you could be led to believe that you would get an affect of flames. All it does is glow from right to left. The sound is more like gun fire than crackling wood. It can and has been turned off. It consumes little or no power (less than 4W max) so it can be left on.Friday, March 14, 2014

I received the True Induction Cooktop within the promised shipping time. I knew that most of my stainless steel cookware was non-magnetic and not suitable for induction cooking. I have two cast iron frying pans, one is 10" and the other is 14" in diameter. I tested the cooktop with the 10" pan (which seemed to be the optimum size for this unit) but the cooktop only blinked its display indicating an error condition. I then tried the 14" pan and was able to get it to heat the pan. I put an inch of water in the pan to test the size of the heating area. I was very disappointed to discover that the diameter of the boiling area was only about 4". This cooktop was listed as being suitable for pans up to 10" in diameter but I never could find an actual specification that described the size of the induction element that is used. I concluded from my testing that this unit uses a ~4" coil like the other low-end units that sell for half of the price of this one. I sent the unit back and received a full refund including my shipping both ways. I subsequently purchased a 30" Bosch induction cooktop which has one element described as 11". It creates a boiling pattern at least 11" across in my 14" pan. My main complaint is that the True Induction cooktop literature is not specific about the actual size of the heating zone and the impression is created that it differs from lower-end units by having a larger heating zone.
All of that said and done it works well. Its at least as fast to boil water as a gas stove and whatever heat level you pick it gets there very quickly. Having had a chance to use conmercial units a couple of times, has caused me to have very high expectations though. I cannot give it the five stars many others have given it. Its pretty good but it could be better.
It looks modern enough to leave out in my kitchen so it's ready to use but compact enough to store in the pantry. I already had stainless steel cookware so I don't need any special pans to use on it.
It has other uses besides my intended use.

Before ordering this I read reviews on pretty much all of the induction hot plates I could find. All others fell short in one way or another. This one seemed to be the best choice. So I ordered it. It does pretty much everything its advertised to do. I really like it for the most part. The controls are all very light touch based. It took me several days of experimenting with various touches to get to the point where I could get the controls to respond with out lots of extra touching. This was anoying. The fan in the unit is also very loud when its running. The temurature control really only allows you to pick 10 levels of heat reguardless of whether you are in the tempurature or intensitiy mode. All of that said and done it works well. We ordered this only after the Chef Todd Single Burner (from HSN) went defunct after one use and there was a problem in sending in back. So we gave up and went on a search for a better one, and did we find it! Heats beautiful, great timer and temperature setting functions. It arrived quickly and well packed. REceived notification by e mail that this company received our registration. Keep in mind it is an induction plat so not all pans will work on it. But we are very pleased at this purchase. I purchased this single burner induction cooktop to check out induction cooking as I had not had any experience of it and wanted to try it out before taking the plunge to by the full size stovetop. Well I am very happy so far, I love it it is as fast as using the microwave and it is clean and efficient. We find that we are using it in preference to the regular electric stove top in our apartment. The timer feature is something I hope the full size stovetop I purchase will also have. (It prevents me from burning pans dry!).Wednesday, February 26, 2014

The Jandy LXi 400 heater in my spa stopped working properly. The temperature on the heater panel would read 104 which is max but the temp on my PDA read only 97 and the water was not hot. I researched the problem and found the following thread: "http://www.justanswer.com/pool-and-spa/4necb-jandy-lxi-heater-controlled-jandy-rs-link.html". I ordered the sensor from "Bankruptcy Liquidator" through Amazon for $40 plus $4.99 shipping, about $20 cheaper than other sellers. I installed the sensor the same day and it works like a charm! Kicked it up to 101 and both PDA and heater read 101. I also threw the pool thermometer in and it also read 101.
Thanks for all your efforts.

My order was handled professionally. I was very pleased with the promptness and it worked great after installed. This was very important to my company, because the system was down and I needed the part. It arrived early and was installed. My system was up and running two days earlier than I promised my customers, so they were happy as well. Thanks for all your efforts.

Review of Goodman Inducer Blower Motor B1859005
It was ordered through Electric Motor Warehouse. Orded on Moanday, Feb.1, 2010 and received on Thursday, Feb. 04, 2010. Pretty fast for standard ground delivery. The old induced draft blower fan bearings had become heavy. Shooting m/c oil helped for a couple of days till this unit arrived. All installing holes matched up good. Old motor had blac/white leads coming out of it. The motor on this assembly simply had two unmarked spade male connectors. I cut off the wire from the old motor and installed two female spade connectors. Polarity did not matter (it worked fine) upon connection :-). The direction of rotation was correct (clockwise when viewed from the motor end, as opposed to viewing from the shaft end). Although unmentioned in description, it came with a weatherstipping style. self sticking roll of gasket. Cut and stick on to seal this assembly against the body of the furnace (I have used cork gasket strips with black silicone with success in the past). The motor is open design with a fly wheel at the end. It had sufficient clearance from the furance door. There is a plastic adapter mating part to connect the outlet of this blower assembly to the furnace flue. This plastic adapter is not part of this (or any other blower that I compared). It needs to be re-used and tends to split easily upon pushing it on due to age/brittleness from heat. I used black silicone to fix it.
This was the lowest cost part when I compared several websites. Even Electric Motor Warehouse own website had 4 higher priced units as replacements. They all appear generic and similar. A local parts house wanted $250.00 for a simialr after market replacement part.
Old motor is a crimped sealed unit. Cannot be easily opened to R&R bearings. The squirrel cage set screw also appeared frozen or galled in place. Not worth repairing in my opinion. Recycled. Respectfully submitted:
Perfect match, even power connectors were the same..
Arrived 1 day later than promised but that was not

Honest reviews on Goodman Inducer Blower Motor B1859005
This blower motor works the way its supposed to, the only reason I give 3 stars to it is because it took 8 whole days to get it and that is after paying almost $9.00 for shipping. This motor was to repair my home heater so we had to suffer a few days of cold weather. But it worked after we replaced it.I will consider other suppliers next time.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Goodman Inducer Blower Motor B1859005
This replacement bolted up with zero mods for my Goodman 75. It came with the insulated tape to seal it to the manifold very considerate bonus!Sunday, December 1, 2013
