Heater / Fan is great for small area use. I use it in my office to combat the erratic temperature differentials and find it really makes a difference. Adjustable fan settings are great. Highly recommend.

This heater died after a month of usage. I would rather go to Walmart and buy a cheap one (which I did) and it has lasted me for 2 months so far (with heavy usage). If that one breaks I can atleast drive down and return it Vs the hassle of Shipping it.

I thought both fan and the heater would be useful for all seasons. Unfortunately, it didn't even last for a year but died on its own.

I purchased the Heat Runner space heater a couple of weeks ago. I use it in my office, during working hours only. The heater worked OK for a couple of weeks; but then it inexplicably turned itself off yesterday, and it hasn't worked since.

I would not recommend this product!

I dont have central heat and air for years now. I been looking for sometime a good strong heater that works on a 220V shocket.

I finally saw this one and bought it.

Same size as your typical plug in Electric heaters. The chord to plug into the socket tho is the same as my 24,000 BTU a/c....it's a Big thick 10 gauge chord with a 30 am terminal.

Anyhow, of you have a 30 amp socket, your good to go.

This unit is is waaaaaaaaaaaay Hotter than ANY standard plug in heater. Those at BEST will give you 5,100 BTU, this unit gives you 16,000 BTU's. About as much as a kerosene heater.

Has your typical controls for a heater, on off, and a thermostat by numbers (1 to 6). I highly recommend this Heater for anyone ho has no central heat or you need heat in your garage or work shed, this is perfect.

Nice little heater. Works well keeping a vacant space warm through the winter. Note that this is a 208/230 volt unit so plan to have the proper circuit available. A little smaller than expected but it's still fine.

Best Deals for Dimplex #DCH4831L 4800-Watt Portable Construction Heater

I bought this for my 20'x20' semi-insulated attached garage in Wisconsin. It cranks out some heat, but not enough to realistically heat that garage in the winter unless it runs ALL the time. Nicely built unit, VERY simple, basically a coil, fan, and thermostat. There is nothing else inside this thing. When I turned this unit on, and placed it next to my existing 120V 1500W fan heater ($10 type model), I had to check several times because I didn't even think the 1500w heater was turned on! This unit cranks out some heat for it's size. It's basically the size of two shoeboxes taped together, or maybe a pice of paper, it's very small. It helps in the garage, but I found that it is better used in my basement where it can make a bid difference in just a few minutes of use.

Remember you need a 30 amp 240 volt outlet for this. I used my dryer outlet, since I now have a gas dryer. I made up an extension cord that plugs into the existing dryer outlet, and has the 30 amp NEMA outlet on the other end. I got all the stuff at Home Depot, and the cord will be the most expensive part (you need 12 guage, 3 conductors total, no neutral needed).

All in allnot big enough for the garage, but works nice in the workshop. 4800 watts is a lot of power though so I expect a big electric bill :)

This small heater is a dynamo. It is not the quietest but it will heat a small room faster and more consistently than any other small heater and as well as many that are much larger. If you want the most heat in the smallest package this is your best bet.

The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is that the first one I purchased only lasted 4 years. But at this price it still is a bargain.

This is truly a tiny heater, and would work well for my intended location -but it does NOT have a thermostat so that it can cycle itself on and off. My other small heaters do have this feature, and it's my error in purchasing not to realize the lack of it.

All that said, it's a nice compact unit. BTW -the fan is a squirrel-cage type, not a blade type, and as such it is notably noisier than the axial-flow type fan units. This would be no issue for me, but the lack of thermostat is a deal-breaker. I'll find some other place for it I guess.

I got this heater to put on my office desk in an attempt to counteract the cold coming down from the vents on the ceiling. It has the perfect size and shape to sit on the desk, but it is TOO LOUD. If I kept it under the desk it probably wouldn't have been such a problem, but on my desk it is clearly loud. I'll return it and look for a quieter one.

Honest reviews on Comfort Zone® Mini personal heater CZ25

Purchased the Comfort Zone CZ25 on January 5, 2013. Used it for about 30 minutes a day, 4 days a week. Died yesterday. RIP. Won't buy another product made by Comfort Zone.

When I opened this Comfort Zone CZ25 mini personal heater I unwound the cord and it immediately cracked where it goes into the housing, dangerously exposing the copper 120V wires. There is absolutely no strain relief on the cord design and the wire's inferior insulation material was so embrittled by the cold (~35F?) that it cracked instantly. Not a good thing for a heater.

Too bad. It would have otherwise been a good design if only it had been executed responsibly. I wish could rate this a "minus 2" stars because I think the manufacturer should bring them all back for repair or destruction.

This surver was better then I exspected. I ordered two and surved 25 for christmas dinner. They kept the food hot all afternoon no one had to have cold food. The 2.5 quart pans are pefect if you need to feed a large group and clean up is a breeze .

We have had ours two months and have used it three times for entertaining guests in our party room. Works as expected. Keeps food very warm to hot, but not so much as to dry them out. We've used for chicken wings, toasted ravoli's, pizza rolls, meatballs, bacon wraped lil' smokies, and more. Worked perfect for these. No reason to think it will not work well for other items. Easy clean up.

We find that the product base is make of very light materials that flex when you move it. The frame surrounding the serving pans is very light material too. Pans are good. Lids are light could easily chip or crack? We worry about durability. I suppose we could have got better if we spent more. For this reason we took away one star from an otherwise great working product.

As you look at other servers be aware that some of them are much smaller although they might not look like it in the photos. Instead of getting one of the ones that were on sale for $30 everywhere at Christmas, we paid a bit more for this one as the servering pans were twice as big. Can be used as a hot plate also.

Edit 10-2013: Used 20 times over the past year and a half. Still in excellent condition. Lids turned out to be just fine. Great product.

I spent hours searching for the right buffet server and the Oster did not disappoint! The much larger trays will fit all the food you need for entertaining, you won't be hurting for space with this model. I had food out for my son's birthday for over 5 hours and everything stayed warm. I used it a few days later for a build your own fajita party outside and no problems keeping food warm on a table outside. It's a large piece but with it's size you won't be hurting for room to serve all your food at once. I'm glad I bought this and plan to put it to good use over the holidays. No more lukewarm meals!

I wish I had this during Christmas time. You can take the containers off and use your own if you want.

Either way works great, keeps the food warm even if you have it set on low temp.

No more juggling side dishes in and out of oven trying to make sure everything is warm. No runs to microwave to heat a plate.

I tried putting food in from fridge and after about 2 hours was luke warm so I put the sides in the oven to heat them up then transferred them into the buffet server and put on high.

Kept everything warm, burnt dressing a little on bottom so I would say leave on low if you have already heated your sides.

Did not give it 5 stars because there was no opening in the top for serving spoons.

Overall very pleased with purchase and price.

We purchased the New Comfort ES1500 heater to help supplement our propane heater in a very cold/drafty house. This is our first winter in this big old farm house in NW Wisconsin and even though we haven't experienced our normal cold temps, this house can get very cold.

We put the heater in the kitchen because it was always much colder in that room. We set the heater at 68 degrees during the day and 63 degrees at night. On the days we average 25+ degrees during the day, the heater manages to, at times, reach the 68 degrees..although it usually averages about 65 degrees. When we had our cold spell (below zero) the heater struggled to keep the kitchen at 60 degrees, usually only managing 56-58 degrees. Granted, our kitchen isn't blocked off from the living room or bathroom, but there are heat ducts in those areas also.

The great upside to owning this heater is the propane savings. We were going through $500 a month in heat costs, but with the heater our propane consumption has decreased by at least 25%. It is cheaper to pay an increase in electric than shell out another $500.

So, with all that said, I would buy this product again. I don't believe it can heat 1000 feet, but it does help. If you live in a warmer climate, or have a better insulated house, it just might do everything it claims.

Reviews of Bed Fan

Bed Fan
Customer Ratings: 4.5 stars
Buy Now
Up until now, hot flashes from menopause have been disrupting my sleep for weeks. My only way to cope has been to crank the thermostat down to 70 degrees at night (wasting energy to cool the entire house), and set up a fan next to the bed to blow directly on me. Even so, I'd wake up several times a night, fling off the covers, cool off, then get too cold, and pull the covers back over my head. The annoyance and sleep deprivation made me desperate enough to spend $80 on a solution, and I'm glad I did.

The Bed Fan took me about 5 minutes to set up, and worked great from the very start. I started out with the unit turned to a medium-intensity setting, and soon discovered that I could turn it down to a very low setting and stay plenty cool. The fan is blissfully quiet compared to the room fan I'd been using, and I appreciate not having to supercool the bedroom. There's enough clearance under the top sheet (where the fan frame holds up the sheet at the foot of the bed) to allow me to turn over, move around, get in and out of bed without the sheet coming undone. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that it does seem rather overpriced, especially given the less-than-substantial feel of the plastic.

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

While the idea behind this product is a very good one (get air moving under the sheets for hot sleepers), they didn't quite nail it down.

For starters in order for this to work as advertised you have lay still while you sleep, in my case I'm a very active sleeper, this sometimes causes the sheets to come undone near where the bedfan sits, blowing the sheets off my lower body and at this point might as well just use a ceiling fan, however to prevent this we used a comforter but then that caused a different problem because of the heavier nature of comforters it held down the sheets to the point that no air was moving to my upper body and my feet would get very cold, making me turn off the bedfan.

Also the unit I received had very loud fans, made of mostly ABS plastics and velcro, for the price I'm sure they could've found some better fans, with better CFM and less DCB.

I'd be willing to give this product another try if they ever have a redesigned version.

Best Deals for Bed Fan

Bedfan pulls the heavier, cooler air from under my bed, and routes it under my sheet, keeping me cool, while the higher parts of the room can be warmer.

The manufacturer recommends using a top-sheet, with 400 threads per inch.

The air leaked out of my budget, 200 thread-count sheet, so it would not fully inflate.

If you are warm, it is counter-productive to put a comforter over your top-sheet, which is like donning a parka, because your windbreaker was flapping in the wind.

Instead, make your top-sheet extra-secure, by also using Sheet-Straps4 BED Sheet GRIPPERS garters bedding straps suspenders. These are elastic, with garter-style ends, that you put diagonally under the corners, especially at the foot of your bed, if you tend to have "restless legs."

My feet hang off the end of the bed, so I the Bedfan at the side, about knee-level. I use a Sheet Straps on the opposite side of the Bedfan, helping seal the sheet, holding it firmly against the unit. Duct tape could work, as well, but I don't like its adhesive residue.

If the Bedfan were made of metal, it would have to be stamped and formed, or extruded, which is more expensive to fabricate. The increased weight would add to shipping costs.

The velcro for the Breeze Bar is an excellent idea. This way, the Breeze Bar can give way, when kicked by "restless legs." If it did not, someone would damage their feet, sue the company, and thereby, deprive everyone else access to a great product, if the company were put out of business.

~From included manual:~

To Get The Most Out of Your Bedfan:

Sheets with a low thread count will allow air to pass through at the foot of the bed...

The higher the thread count on the sheets, the tighter the weave...

With a loose weave the air will exit from between your sheets, very early and never make it to your upper body. We recommend a thread count of 400 or better.

When you have the full effect of the Bedfan, thanks to quality sheets, you will not have to turn it up as high, it won't make as much noise, and you will sleep much cooler.

How to use your Bedfan:

When you are lying in bed you should be able to put your big toe under the breeze bar, just to make sure that it is high enough.

If you cannot put your big toe under the breezebar, it is not high enough.

If it is not high enough, it will not put out enough air. You will end up having to run the Bedfan at a much higher speed than is needed.

Honest reviews on Bed Fan

This is just a tentative review as I just received the Bed Fan today. Setup is super easy, it's as simple as plugging it in and adjusting the height of bar that directs airflow. The fan is really quiet until you get close to having it on full-blast. So far it works just as described, however, I have a rather heavy down comforter and I'm not sure the airflow is strong enough to circulate air underneath it. After trying it a night or two I'll write an update. Let's hope it does work because it could be ice cold in my bedroom and I'd still wake up soaked with sweat in the middle of the night!

**Update**

A couple of frustrations have cropped up as I have used The bed fan for a couple of weeks now. First and foremost, it is way too light to remain stable, even with the sheets tucked around it as per the instructions. Pulling the covers up toward my shoulders pulls the fan forward with them and makes the base slide away from the bed. Any further movement from the covers at this point causes the fan to clank against the wooden platform base of my bed. Very annoying! What I plan to do is tape the fan to the bed with some clear box tape. Oh yeah and the little Velcro thing doesn't work on my particular platform bed.

The next annoyance is the noise. Usually the sound of a fan is actually quite soothing to me, even a roaring attic fan somehow lulls me, but the sound of The Bed Fan is quite irritating. The box fan I use in my room is much louder and I find it very pleasant, so the problem is not decibel level of The Bed Fan, it's the sound quality. The only way I can make the comparison is to say that The Bed Fan creates an unpleasant droning hum as opposed to the rushing, white-noise sound of a typical fan. Perhaps I sound picky-unish but in the middle of the night the gravity of these minor annoyances is greatly magnified.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Bed Fan

I have extremely dry eyes in the morning, it can be agony to open them. Any fan, including the ceiling fan, moving air around the room just made it so much worse. So, I got this for my husband who prefers a fan and moving air.

It does take a little fuss and trial and error to get it right, and you do need to use sheets with a fairly high thread count, and hubby says occasionally he needs to wear socks so his feet don't freeze while the rest of him is cooling down.

Otherwise, it works pretty well. Occasionally, I can feel it on my side of the bed, but I've found that throwing a pillow between our feet fixes that. It has cut my morning eye pain in half, and that's worth a lot of fussing to get it set up just right.

Whynter Eco-Friendly 12,000 BTU Dual Hose Portable Air Conditioner, Frost White (ARC-12SD)

Had a need to cool a 380 sq ft study/workroom at our summer home with day time temperatures between 72F-88F. Central air conditioning available but extremely wasteful in a 2500sq ft house. Refused to consider window given prior bad experience (let's just say it took a long fall). This would be my 2nd Whynter portable in less than 10 years. My first one was an odd looking unit that worked wonderfully for years before we gave it away when we had to relocate to overseas.

The shape and design of this unit was agreeable and generally understated. The only hint of technology was the display LCD band that runs along the top half of the a/c. Standard size for a portable and a hint bulkier given the dual hose design. Although termed portable, it is not something you can carry around the house with one hand.

Installation was uncomplicated and the user manual was adequately helpful in completing the window exhaust setup. Understanding the display indications was initially confusing but a quick flip of the user manual was enough to get me comfortable. Remote control is simple and good to at least 15 feet away.

I powered it up during a warm afternoon. I was duly impressed. Sometimes, powerful is probably not the right word. The unit had sufficient fan speed but the actual coolness of the air from the unit was what made the difference. It was exceptionally cold. I was comfortable in a matter of minutes and had actually feeling cold in less than an hour. It's relatively quiet and I've not been bothered but it whatsoever. Several weeks in and it has been performing to expectations.

Whynter Eco-Friendly 12,000 BTU Dual Hose Portable Air Conditioner with Heater, Frost White (ARC-12SDH)

We bought this back in September and took it out again recently for the heater function.

Nicely designed unit that has a clean modern look. The display is a concealed LCD band that is simple and understandable without an overload information and meaningless statistics. Although easy to roll around, be sure to get help when lifting up above a foot. The window kit was good quality and overall setup was considerably easy. Just hookup the hoses to the kit and fit the kit snugly into the window opening.

Cools wonderfully. I use it specifically in the baby's room and occasionally in the study. The dual hose design helps with the energy efficiency and overall cooling or heating out. Both rooms are about 18x18 and this unit has no problem cooling down a 95F room to a comfortable temp in less than 30 mins. I'm surprised that the cooling throughput of this unit is actually 20%-30% faster than another 14000 BTU that I have. Nothing scientific but even my wife notices the significant difference.

The heating option is not for heavy duty heating but it works perfectly as a spot heater when you don't want to crank central heat up too much.

To sum it up, this is a surprisingly efficient unit albeit slightly bulky but gives great bang for the buck.

Cooling: 5 out of 5

Noise: 4 out of 5

Setup: 2 out of 5

Maintenance: 3 out of 5

Cooling: 5 out of 5

This AC unit is used in my office on the 12th floor of an older office building in downtown Cleveland, Ohio. In the case of this older building the HVAC is less than consistent, but the windows do open. Last summer temperatures in my office reached the high 90s on some days. As we are a business formal firm the sauna-like environment in the office was not conducive to wearing a suit and achieving any reasonable productivity. This year, with this AC unit in use for the past three weeks, the office has remained a comfortable 70F with low humidity even on the hottest day we have had yet this year (93F).

Noise: 4 out of 5

The fan and compressor on this AC unit are a bit noisy, but I think that the noise level is to be expected as the unit has excellent air flow and cools & dehumidifies my office (about 200 sq ft) quickly while helping cool the rest of the suite (about 875 sq ft) too. With the AC unit running on high I have been able to speak on the telephone two exceptions only twice have I had to switch the AC unit to a lower fan setting in order to hear the other caller(s) on the telephone. This with the unit about five feet from my desk. I have not had any issues with conducting face to face conversations in my office with the AC unit running on high.

Setup: 2 out of 5

Setup did not go was well as I had hoped. The dual hose system is nice and connects to the AC unit very well. However, the screws provided to connect the hose assemblies to the "window kit" were worthless. The hose assemblies popped out immediately. Also the window kit covers a maximum of 36 inches my office window opening is 42.5 inches. With a little effort I was able to fix these issues. I used #6 stainless steel bolts, nuts and lock washers (all available at Home Depot) to attach the hose assemblies to the window kit that was supplied with the unit. I also attached a Lexan (Plexiglas) "extension" to the window kit (also with #6 stainless steel hardware) that was supplied with the unit. So the window kit works well now and has retained much of the adjustablity with which it was designed. I recommend stainless steel as the hardware will be exposed to the elements and non-stainless steel hardware will likely rust over time. The hoses are also reasonably flexible so I do not have to keep the unit directly in front of the window I use to vent the unit.

Maintenance: 3 out of 5

Although the hose assemblies are designed to detach easily from the window kit (a feature that was unaffected by my use of the stainless steel hardware) the hoses do not come off easily (or, in my experience, at all). This creates a problem if one wants to inspect or clean the hoses (say if there are insects in the hoses, etc.) as the hoses will not detach from the window kit unless the window kit is dismantled. Also there is a condensate tank in this unit (that was not clear in the description when I bought the unit) that is not easy to empty. The drain plug is all the way at the bottom of the unit at the back with less than an inch of clearance to get a pan (or whatever) under the plug in order to drain the condensate. However, today is the first day I tired to empty the condensate (I did this to see how much condensate the unit had collected the condensate warning light was not illuminated) and there was hardly any condensate in the tank after three weeks of use. I see from the description of this model on other websites that the dual hose system allows this AC unit to discharge most of the condensate to the outside via the exhaust hose and from my experience that system works very well. So hopefully draining condensate from the tank will not be an issue in the future.

I am pleased with this AC unit and would recommend the unit to others.

Honest reviews on Whynter 12,000 BTU Dual Hose Portable Air Conditioner with Heater

I am reasonably happy with the unit. It was easy to setup and cools one room quite nicely. So the negative comments I have are more like the 5% I do not like. Keeping that in perspective, the items I would like changed are as follows:

The unit is a bit noisy. 54dB vs the Sharp 43dB. The Whynter is always running with the sound increasing when the cooling unit is on. I understand the Sharp turns on and off.

The 6" plastic pipes that connect the unit to the window adapter are very robust. They are a bit tricky to hook up and quite long. I replaced them with ordinary 6" stove pipe 2 adjustable elbows and 8" of straight pipe. This allowed me to get the unit as close to the wall as possible and minimize the resistance of the pipe itself. I haven't seen any evidence of condensation.

The unit front panel is not labelled and the remote is poorly labelled. I had to keep the handbook around to see what the LEDs and remote buttons meant. After a while simple things like changing the fan speed are easy to remember. But anything else requires having the manual handy. This was very poorly done.

This has nothing to do with the unit itself, but it does not cool multiple rooms well at all. I have a bedroom and office across the hall from on another on the second floor. Getting the cool air over to other room requires a number of fans and that does not seem work very well. The temperature differential can be 5 or 8 degrees. Still trying to figure out how to fix that. So buying a portable for multiple rooms requires some additional technology.

This is the first portable air conditioner I have owned so I have nothing really to compare with. So not sure my expectations were realistic. All in all I am as happy with the Whynter as I could expect to be. The only problem I believe I have a right to be annoyed with is the remote and unit display. Cryptic.

The cooling ability is also rather impressive. I put it in my study/guest room which is about 225 or so squarefeet on a a hot evening, I would say 87F. and shortwhile later I was feeling extremely comfortable. It a slightly loud when on highspeed and is a awkward to lift vertically but other than that I am liking it plenty.

My husband wanted to buy one of these last fall, and I was unconvinced. We had a power outage last winter when it was -30 degrees outside and suffered for three days with no heat in our house. After that, I was persuaded to go along with his "crazy" idea. We are using this as a natural gas heat source. The great part about it is that if we lose electricity again this winter, we will still be able to stay warm and comfortable. One of the things I like about it is the moisture that is put into the air by the gas burning. The humidity in our house is staying around 60 degrees when we have the stove running. We are going to get rid of the old humidifier, as it is no longer needed. We are both very pleased with our purchase.

We had a professional run the gas line and hook it up for us, and bought a CO2 alarm for the house, for safety.

I purchased the Bainbridge II Dual Fuel Freestanding Stove with an optional blower attachment. The Stove works great for its intended purpose. The blower on the other hand did not work at all. When I purchased these items I believed they were going to be brand new products like the item description stated. The blower came in a box that had the return receipt of another customer still inside it. So, someone else returned it because it didn't work and then the company resells it to me as brand new! I have exchanged a couple of e-mails with the company about it but then nothing. They have gone unheard of! I'm now out $100 because this company refused to stand behind their sale. Look around for a different seller.

I have three propane fireplaces in my home. I love being able to warm up a room quickly and watch the fire dance. This one looks nice and sets up easily except that the instructions didn't say where the battery for the electronic starter went. A phone call answered that question easily (you unscrew the starter button). If you are looking for a reasonably priced stove that puts out a lot of heat, it does. Unfortunately for me, the room I put it in is only 13x16 and it heats up so fast that I can't sit and watch the fire for very long. So if you like to sit and watch flames dance, consider getting a smaller stove. My other concern is that when it kicks on, the gas comes out for several seconds before it catches fire with a big "whosh." My other fireplaces don't do that. As long as it is in a big room and far from any curtains or fabric, it is probably perfectly safe, but where I have it, I turn it off when I leave the room just to be safe.

If you are deciding between a vent-free and direct-vent stove, first make sure you have enough space to support a vent-free stove. If you do, I found the look to be much nicer than the direct-vent. The flames dance more, and they put out lots more usable heat.

Love this stove. I have a fairly big room (17x24 with arch ceiling) that has electric heat (rest of the house is propane). This room at very best in the winter (New England) was sort of warm. I never use the electric anymore. This stove not only provides lots of cozy heat but it actually heats the rest of the house as well. The logs are pretty real looking, especially at night. I am using just the stove without the blower attachment. The sides and rear of the stove stay cool all the time.

The downside is the starter button. When I unscrew the cap to put in the battery the starter fell back through the hole. Just remove the 2 screws that hold the face plate and then it is a piece of cake.

I bought this gas stove last autumn (a full year ago) when my home's furnace died, as an interim measure until I replaced an ancient oil fired furnace from the 1920s with electric heat. I live in Philadelphia where it gets COLD, in a 1920s two-story row house of about 1000 square feet, with no insulation in the attic, and old single-glazed aluminum windows. I never intended to use this to heat the house, it was meant to add some ambience and serve as an emergency heat source.

Well, this little stove stepped up to the challenge, in ways I NEVER thought it could. It was very easy to set it up, the instructions were very clear and straightforward; anyone with moderate plumbing skills can do it. It's nice and wide, an ideal height, and not very deep so it fits better in a small living room than any other stove I could find. The thermostat works very well at regulating a steady heat, and works in two stages, adjusting the flame height according to how much demand there is for heat. In mild autumn weather it cycles on and off on its own and easily maintains a constant temperature. In the coldest weather of January it runs pretty much continually, but will cycle between a low flame and a high flame depending on the need for extra heat (e.g., when someone opens the front door). Even without using a fan, this stove is capable of maintaining a comfortable temperature throughout the house, THE ENTIRE YEAR! I still haven't replaced my furnace, and this little stove is ready for its 2nd heating season.

Now, because there is no central heating plant (yet, I'm working on that, but I think I'll just install electric baseboard heaters because they're cheaper and I won't ever use them anyway) the basement gets cold. SO! I purchased a gas ventless "garage heater" and installed it downstairs (FOLLOW THIS LINK, HERE: ProCom Dual Fuel Vent-Free Blue Flame Garage Heater 30,000 BTU, Model# MD300TGA ) it's not as pretty but just as efficient. Now the basement is warm, the floors on the main floor are nice and toasty warm, and the temperature is more even. Perfect! And I am saving a TON on heating bills. In the coldest month my gas bill was only $200. And to be fair I should point out that I have gas hot water, a gas clothes dryer, gas oven and cooktop, gas bar-b-que.

As far as safety, I installed a C02 monitor on each floor and the basement. None of them have ever gone off, so the people that say you'll get sick from too mich C02 are nuts. It's no different than using your gas cooktop (which doesn't have a chimney, either, and I've never heard of anyone getting sick from having a gas range). Ventless stoves burn differently than do gas appliances that are designed to have chimneys they are NOT the same. The downside? Because ventless appliances have to burn cleanly the flame isn't as "pretty" as a vented fireplace the flame is more blue and less yellow, and not as large. So turn the lights down if you want to see the flame! Even though the "fire" is not as dramatic as a wood fireplace or vented gas fireplace, IT'S 100% EFFICIENT! no WASTE! Every penny you spend on gas stays IN your house as heat. Nothing goes up a chimney. You'd have to spend thousands on a gas furnace to compare to the efficiency of this stove, and even then no furnace is more than 97% efficient. And these expensive high-efficiency gas furnaces still use a lot of electricity, too, to operate the controls and the fan this stove doesn't need ANY electricity. It's worth having a less exciting blaze knowing you're spending hundreds less on your gas (and electric) bill, isn't it?? Any drawbacks? Yes if you have a dusty environment or are fond of using a lot of air-contaminating air fresheners (or if you smoke indoors, or use cleaners with heavy scents all which ARE bad for your lungs) these airborne particles will be burnt up by the stove, as well. The result is a gray ash film will build up on the inside of the stove around the flame, and on articles near the stove. I am doing renovations, which makes my house dustier than is typical for most people; I have a mirror above the stove and I have to clean it every 2 or 3 months because a faint film of ash builds up. It's easy enough to wipe it off with a damp cloth or glass cleaner. It DID improve when I bought a Dyson vacuum cleaner (awesome!) which significantly reduced the level of dust in my home. Now to be fair, if you've ever used an open fireplace, or a wood stove for heat, this is NOTHING compared to the soot and dust that using a wood fire produces in your home!! Other than that, this little stove is amazing

Buy the stove stop looking for a better model, there isn't one. Just do it, it will pay for itself in a couple of months, AND you'll have the pleasure of an open flame to stare at, and being toasty warm, on those cold blustery nights when your neighbors are bundled up in blankets trying to save a few dollars on their gas bill!

The product itself is great, but that flimsy attachment broke right off for me too. I am so angry that I taking it right back to the store.

I was pleasantly surprised at what a good job this little steamer does for the price. I've used it to remove set-in wrinkles from new clothing and to freshen up items taken out of the closet. I also used it to remove dents in my carpet from furniture. Pretty good product. My only complaint is that it doesn't hold very much water, but I was still able to steam about 3 garments before re-filling. Would recommend it for small jobs.

A great product; I took it with me on a trip to make sure my clothes looked good after being crush-packed on a motorcycle. It did the job beautifully and I highly recommend it to Amazon users. JUST REMEMBER, as at least one reviewer did not, this is NOT an IRON! It's a STEAMER and is meant to be used with the clothing hanging from a hanger!

Works okay (not great but is not ergonomic and heavy leading to wrist fatigue quickly. I got it for $9 on closeout so can't really complain but wouldn't recommend it even at that price.

This is too small to be anything other than a hand steamer for wrinkled clothes when one is traveling. At that, it spits out water when it's heated. It should be advertised with that limit on it. It is much too small to use over straight fabrics like bedspreads, linen, bedskirts, which is why I purchased it. I wish I had not purchased it. Deluxe Fabric Steamer it is not.

Pro: The unit does cool my 325 square-foot area very well.

Con: The fan is on the loud side in comparison to my Black & Decker and Frigidaire brand units.

The Igloo RCA 8000 btu window air conditioner does cool but there are 2 things wrong with it one no matter what direction you turn the air deflectors to the air still comes out basicly to the front not to where you directed it to, second the air conditioner switches from cooling to fan long before it reaches the set tempature, and 3rd you cannot feel the air flow from the unit unless your right in front of it my desk sits only 9 feet from the unit and I cannot feel the air flow and thats with it pointed right at me. I bought a SPT 6000 btu air conditioner before I bought this one it works 100 percent better then the RCA 8000 so I put the SPT 6000 back in the window it cools the room better and I can feel the air flow just fine. I thought the RCA 8000 btu would cool better since it's a larger unit, I was wrong I was going to give away the SPT 6000 btu air conditioner but now I will keep the SPT 6000, and give away the RCA 8000 air conditioner instead

This says it will cover a fire pit up to 44" and in the photo, the lid is clearly on the firepit. It does not cover a fire pit that large. Our firepit is 40" wide. It covers the lid, that is it. The rest of the firepit is exposed, not covered as the photo shows.

The cover is perfect for my round firepit. I discovered after purchasing the medium 42" cover. I discovered that the measurement on the item is the exact measurement of the cover and not the size of the firepit that it will cover as stated by the manufacturer. The large cover at 60" covers my 42" firepit allowing room for the mesh dome and to fit like the pictured item.

The cover seems to be a thick gauge material. I just got this cover to protect the firepit during the midwest winter and snow and time will tell if it holds up as expected.

We bought this to put over the fire pit we bought the same day. We bought the Strathwood St. Thomas Cast-Aluminum Fire Pit with Table and this cover. It was recommended together from Amazon so we thought it would be perfect. It was also mentioned by another reviewer of the fire pit we bought as a perfect fit, even with the fire pits mesh dome on. It barely fits this fire pit (without the mesh dome) and took two people to get it on. It barely covers the top edge of the table. We are returning this for the 60" cover. If you are buying the above mentioned fire pit, do not buy the 44" cover as recommended, go for the 60".
