The display toggles between the time and date.

The ambient temperature of the metal plate is constantly shown, so it can double as an interior temperature gauge.

You can change it to display in Fahrenheit, which is good.

It'll reach a displayed temp of 150 degrees F; HOWEVER, the metal heating plate is NOT large enough to put an over sized coffee cup on. In the picture, the plate looks incredibly large; however, it's no larger than a standard coffee cut; therefore, I've not yet been able to determine if the thing actually keeps stuff warm.

Had I known the cup circumference limit, I probably wouldn't have purchased it.

It did get here fairly quickly and it came from Hong Kong, so it takes a few days.

I bought the iStorm hand dryer two month ago and I love it! I was using paper towels for my restaurant before but after reading some articles about how hand dryers can save a lot of money, I decided to give it a try. Unlike the other hand dryers, iStorm dries hand fast enough and really does keep the floor dry! The ceramic pad works perfectly! And I also have customers compliment on it's interesting smooth round shape. It is a great investment! I am glad that I switched from paper towel to it!

The blower and controls for a Heat n Glo fireplace is $240 + $17 tax from the local fireplace store. They came down to $170 + tax but wouldn't move close to the Amazon price. I went with Amazon, placing the order on a Tuesday afternoon and receiving the product on Thursday. Surprisingly excellent service.

The blower appears well constructed and substantial. I adjusted the fan to a medium speed, fast enough to move air and slow enough to be silent.

The 'five minute installation' took me about 90 minutes because I had to drive to the fireplace store and ask, "Huh!?"

The following are intended to be helpful instructions:

*****Warning: Kill Power before doing any wiring. Call an electrician if you aren't handy. Electricity kills. ******

*****Warning: The following is considered "OPINION". It is not expert advice. ******

*****Warning: I am not an electrician. I am not a fireplace installer. I am not a fireplace fan expert. ******

1. Locate a bolt on the bottom side of your fireplace. The thermo switch (thermo thingy bolts to the bottom of your fireplace using a wing nut). Don't mount it upside down.

2. Locate your power junction box. Older style boxes have two wires protruding that are most likely connected to each other. Newer junction boxes have obvious connection points.

3. Test that you have power to the junction box by plugging a light or radio or ??? into the outlet labeled 'fan'. I didn't have power to the junction box. An electrician friend said, "You may have to fish for wires, or wires are probably running to an outlet nearest the fireplace and they haven't been connected." Then he asked, "Is there a switch near the fireplace that doesn't work? If so, that's probably the problem." I flipped the switch, and that was the 'fix'.

4. Mount the rheostat (speed control) on the right side of your fire place in the obvious spot where it goes. You'll need something to tighten the nut onto the plastic thingy.

5. Attach the ground wire running from the fan to metal. I attached my ground to the thermo switch plate.

6. Attach one wire from the rheostat to the thermo switch.

7. Attach one wire from the thermo switch to the one of the power junction box wires or 'clips'.

8. Attach one wire from the junction box to the rheostat.

9. Attach the cord to the fan.

10. Plug the fan into the "fan" outlet on the power junction box.

11. Slide the fan to the back of the fireplace and then move it forward about 1/4 inch per the instructions that came with the fan.

12. Power up.

13. Turn on your fireplace and wait a couple minutes for it to warm up enough to trip the thermo switch. Adjust fan speed as necessary.

I ordered my Blower and was a little skeptical since it was a universal fit for several products. If looked just like the one in the Heat and Glo manual so I went for it. I did my homework before ordering and noticed that several people had complained about the installation instructions so I spent some time reading the Heat and Glo installation procedures while I waited for deliver. Once my unit arrived, I noticed their instructions were the same as the one in my Heat and glow manual.

My fireplace had the correct junction box so it took me about 30 minutes form start to finish for installation. Basically, it was hook the wires up according to the schematic, slide the unit in place and I was done.

Tip:

While you are waiting for your unit to arrive study your owner's manual, look at your unit and familiarize yourself with your fireplace and its electrical connections. Determine where you will place the unit, the sensor, and control knob. My units already had locations set up for these items.

Pros:

Customer support: Friendly, Responsive

I actually ordered two but they only sent one, I called and they sent the other one out the next day and apologized for the inconvenience. Refreshingly hassle free.

Quality of the Product: Well made, Tight, Solid, Quality components

I am a Sr. Product Quality Engineer so I know a little about product quality.

Cons:

As of this writing none. I have had the units for about a month now and they work as expected. Now days that is great

The product works well, and is easy to install, provided you can figure out how to do it. The instructions are absolutely terrible and only leave you confused. I had to do my own research and rely on my knowledge of electrical circuits to complete the job. The instructions could really benefit from a picture or two, and some better labeling of parts.

Honest reviews on Fireplace Blower for Heat N Glow GFK-160A, 7002-1241, Royal GFK-160

My family has a gas fireplace that emitted no heat, it all went up the chimney. We ordered this fan to remedy that. It works well, turning on automatically at a certain temperature and shuts off automatically after you shut off the fireplace and it has internally cooled. It is 'whisper' quiet when set low but you can definitely hear it when set high. For our needs the low setting has been more than adequate and we can definitely recommend the fan. I should note that when we received the fan, the motor did not work. We called the company and they overnighted a new unit and sent a prepaid box to send the old unit back. Excellent customer service!

Review of Sunbeam Ceramic Heater

Sunbeam Ceramic Heater
Customer Ratings: 2.5 stars

Bought at Walmart for $30 in February as a little heater to warm up my wife's craft room since its a back bedroom and we only open to receive heat from the rest of the house when she is working in it. However, I will be taking this heater back. The heater is a handsome little unit: 10" tall, 14" wide, and 8" deep. It sits on a 7"x9" base that makes the unit very stable and resistant to tipping over from accidental bumping. The base allows 360 degree rotation and about 15 degree tilting. The heater's operating modes (per the manual) are: Fan Only, Low Heat ("if applicable..." said the manual. This unit did have Low Heat mode.),Eco-Smart, Max Heat, and Thermostat Control. Max Heat runs continuously at 1500 watts. Low Heat (if it were available) would run continuously at 750 watts. Eco-Smart "cycles between High Heat (1500 watts) and Low Heat (750 watts) settings...". Thermostat Control only has four room-temperature settings: 70, 75, 80, and 85 degrees. The extreem left of the thermostat scale has a "Frost Protect" setting (thermostat control set for 40 degrees). The extreem right of the thermostat scale is "Constant On". While the front of the heater presents a good sized 8"x14" grill, it is for looks only the actual heat producing opening is only 2"x6". The remainder of the area behind the grill is just black plastic. When the heater is on and at 6" from the front of the heater, you feel VERY hot air at 18" from the front you feel no hot air. This is my first point about the poor functionality of this unit: the output of the internal fan is so pathetic that it can barely produce enough of a wheeze of air to get the heat only a few inches out of the heater and then (hot air rising) goes straight to the ceiling. Perhaps this is a general trait of all ceramic heaters: they can produce very hot air without using red-hot (read: accidental ignition source) heat elements; however, they cannot support large volumes of air being passed through them. Here is my second point on the poor functionality of this heater: Although the box advertises: "High/Low Heat Settings" the low setting is not actually selectable. The unit seems to run at a high heat output all the time I did not discern any "cycling" between a high and low heat output in the lame "Eco-Smart" mode. The third point is the thermostat control: only four choices: 70,75,80, and 85 nothing inbetween and nothing below 70 degrees room temp is available, and it seems to operate at max heat when in thermostat mode. Dear Sunbeam, What I wanted to know about a heater is: the heat wattage of the settings, the operating range of the thermostat, and can the low heat only setting be selected for thermostat control. You're packaging told me absouluty nothing about the details and specifications of a heater that are actually important. Oh, by the way, people are tired of, and turned off, by manufacturers who trot out the same mediocre, half-hearted designed products but think that by putting a green leaf on the box and use the word "eco-" that consumers will think that the products received an improvement of some sort.

This heater is a great idea, and the functions work great. It is one of the best space heaters I have owned with one major exception. I think they undersized the wiring on it, because the power cord gets very hot, and I'm afraid it will catch fire. It actually melted my Kill-A-Watt power meter I had it plugged into. I wouldn't buy this item. It does heat very nicely, but it is a fire hazard in my opinion. Made in China...

In less than a month the heater not only just quit working, but a wire inside melted when fortunately I was at home. I opened the machine and there it was, the burnt wire. It could have burned down my house

Honest reviews on Sunbeam Ceramic Heater

This heater started out heating a small bathroom and washroom quite well.Like other products I have purchased I bought before looking at reviews. After 30 days the heater started to blow cold air.At this point I looked up the reviews and saw where mine wasn't the only one that has done this.Rather than to take it back and let them throw it away and not do anything about it I decided to take the heater apart and see what was causing the problem..If costing me $30 keeps one house from burning down it has made the loss profitable. There are 3 wires leading to the heating elements 2 red and 1 black in the middle. The black wire in the middle had been hot and melted the plastic cover on the wires and had burnt in two.I have pictures but cant upload them here.Just another Chinese piece of DANGEROUS JUNK.

We've had this about a year. Have not had any issues and we use it every day; placed near where we sit. However, when used in a bedroom sized space (our office) and keeping the door closed, it heats up the area quite nicely and soon we turn it off when it reaches a heated comfort level for us. However, due to reviews about a burned wire, I will be more careful in how long I let it run and I do always turn it off and unplug it when I leave the space.

I use this heater to heat my workshop. My work shop is a 20x26 space. I insulated the ceiling and made sure to weather seal all the doors. I use a 170k BTU heater kero heater to bring the shop up to temp and then let this guy take over to keep it warm. No smell fumes and it fuel efficient. I run it off 30 lb tanks and so far I have over 30 hours on one take. I run it mostly on the low setting. Its easy to setup and use.

propane puts out 10x the heat. You have to stand right under it to feel a difference.

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

I'm 5'3 and when this is on full blast (both rings are turned on) I can barely feel anything. My husband who is 6'0 can feel the heat but only when he is standing right under it. All in all don't get this if you actually want it to keep you warm like a propane heater. The ups are that we dont have an outdoor light and this fell into the same price range as an outdoor lamp (actually cheaper). Its not super bright but gives off a nice glow so we can see (similar to candle light) outside at night and not be in the dark. It also doesn't need to be filled like a gas patio heater and it won't violate some fire codes (NYC you can't have any gas grills, heaters etc) but it certainly won't ease the cold.

Pros: Reasonably priced out door light, doesn't use a lot of energy

Cons: Barely gives off any heat at full blast

Best Green Product to come out if you like the outdoors.

Instead of burining propane, this electrical outdoor heater that looks like a propane heater saves money, saves the enviroment, saves a headache of running out of propane and having to run to the store, and keeps you outside longer.

Also fits in my unbrella hole so you get 360 degrees of heat. Not as powerful as a propane heater, which I often find to be too powerful,

but perfect for the 45-60 degree night to sit on the deck.Soleus Air HP1-15-50 Reflective Indoor/Outdoor Patio Heater

We have been using this heater for over a month now, it is a powerful little heater. I wanted to get a ceramic heater because I read they are the safest space heaters you can buy. This is important because you here a lot of horror stories of space heaters causing fires. The heater has three settings low, high and auto(ranging from 900-1500 watts of electrical power). On the low setting the heater puts out 900 watts. We usually use it on auto where you set the handy digital thermostat to a set temp. and the unit maintains that temperature, you can either set it on the unit or by using the handy included remote control. I was surprised to see how well this unit heats about a 220 square foot space. I would recommend this unit with confidence, my only issue with the unit is do not expect it to save you money over other space heaters i.e. oil filled electric radiators. My electric bill seems to have gone up using this heater over a previous oil filled electric unit by the same manufacturer. I will say, that this unit does heat the room much better then the previous unit, largely due to the fan dispersing the heat.

This is a really great little heater. As a previous reviewer mentioned, I appreciate the remote, as I use the heater under my desk at work and don't have to get down on my hands and needs to control it. It puts out plenty of heat and the auto temperature control feature works well. It is also a nice looking device. I am completely satisfied with this purchase.

i had this heater for 2 years. it heated up my entire 2 bedroom apartment (in SoCal). unfortunately, it died yesterday. i loved it so much, i tried to open it up and figure out what was wrong. well, that didn't work, but after seeing what else is out there (and how much it costs!), i am buying another one. i love this heater.

Honest reviews on DeLonghi DCH2590ER Safeheat 1500W Digital Ceramic Heater

I 'live' in a basement which gets pretty cold, my room has one wall that is considered an outside wall, in order to have any light in my room I need to have my bathroom door open two outside walls. As soon as this arrived I plugged it in my bathroom and the heater recorded my bathroom temperature at 56. I set it to auto and it keeps my bathroom and bedroom nice and toasty! The only downside was it's rather loud and makes a few noises, made it difficult to sleep for a few nights. I'm over it now, and it's wonderful! If you live in a cool area, this is a greatand not too pricey device to invest in.

EDITED:

I went to plug the heater in this winter and to my disappointment it wouldn't turn on. Of course the one year warranty is up. While it was a good heater when it worked, I did have to lower my rating on this item; it lasted just a little over a year.

I bought it to use at my desk at work. The AC is turned up so high in the summer that our offices feel like it's fridge. The temperature setting and timer are nice features. The unit heats the space fairly well but the fan is quite loud. The most annoying is the loud beeping when you change any setting manually or with the remote. My neighbor wasn't liking that at all.

I bought this unit to replace the one on my Amana Model SRD21VW-P1315501WW. The refridgerator called out for a Defrost Thermostat R0161088 which is the same sensor unit with a large harness and several connectors which cost $34 and required running wires through the back wall of the freezer compartment.

My freezer kept getting stuck in a defrost cycle (ice cubes melt and then freezing back into a big chunk). To test, I cut the old one out of the existing harness, leaving about 4" inches on the thermostat. I then put the T-Stat in ice water to check for continuity and removed it to if it opened at around 40-50 degrees. The thermostat failed so I ordered this one as a replacement. Crimped on male and female connectors to the harness and the new thermostat and voila! My refridgerator was back in business.

Exactly what I needed. Amana fridge was building up frost/ice in the back of the freezer. After melting with a hair dryer, it worked okay for two weeks, then all the ice/frost built up again. The thermostat was not allowing the defrost heater to kick in (once a day) to melt the ice. This thermostat fit the bill and cost way less than calling a repair person. Identical to the original.

Great ! OEM pproduct. It wired right up no problem. Mine went bad. And anywhere in town they wanted an arm and a leg for one of the defrost t-stats and they are fairly cheap and amazon had what I was looking for at the right price. Can't beat that with a stick!

I find the blower to put good circulation into the room. It keeps going even after the flame is out up to cold air being blown out. Eventually it turns off. The fireplace starts up again most of the time and it warms up. Also it seems to be a bit on the loud side.

I purchased this unit to go in a new ProCom Q-series LP heater that I had previously bought. The blower is designed to fit this style heater and provide air circulation to enhance the heating capabilities of the heater. Unit arrived on time and I installed it in about 2-1/2 hours. I believe I could have installed it quicker (by at least 1 hour) if the instructions had been clearer. Diagrams did not show enough of the view to permit a quick understanding of the assembly. I had to do a lot of "reading between the lines". However, it all fit nicely and worked as designed once I got it installed. Fan operates well and thermostat functions correctly. Overall, I'm satisfied with the unit.

I brought this blower and installed it in my ProCom 20000 BTU Compact Gas Fireplace EDP200T2-JA. I would've given it more stars but like the other reviews the instructions are little sketchy. I also had to drill out all the holes that the screws go into because the screws were too big for the holes. So be aware of that.
