The vent in our bathroom died recently, so seeing that it was a Nutone 665, I ordered this unit, assuming it would be easy to pull the old one out and replace it with this. Unfortunately, the housing has been redesigned for the worse. The old unit did indeed slide out very easily, leaving its hanger bars in the space above the ceiling. The new unit requires you to attach the hanger bars to the housing before installing it. Furthermore, the old unit had an opening for the power to come into the unit where the connections were light, vent, and heat were made. The new unit has these connections outside the housing.

Basically, I had to cut open a larger hole in the ceiling to allow for the hanger bars and give me space to hammer them in. The grille is barely larger than the housing, so now I have an ugly space surrounding the unit in the bathroom ceiling.

If they hadn't changed the design, I could have reconnected the power, slid the unit in, and hung it on the old hanger bars and written a 5-star review. The new design makes it much harder to install in a finished bathroom and I see no reason why it was changed. The old unit's design was far superior. If I fix the drywall and this unit dies, I'll have to cut the ceiling again to get it out. I'd rather just leave the hole and find some kind of frame to fit around the grille to hide the hole.

We had a 25 year old version of the same heat/vent/light which was still, amazingly, working. It was a bear to get down, but once we did, the new one installed easily in the same space. It's much quieter, heats the space more quickly, and looks great -the old one's grill had turned a murky yellow-orange and the light visor was bubbled. It's nice that we could get a similar but improved model that used the same sized hole.

These vent/heat/light fans were installed in my house when it was built over 23 years ago. My exhaust fan motor was rumbling a lot, so I decided to replace it. They have discontinued selling the motor so I had to buy the entire thing. Last time I just had the motors rebuilt by a local small electric motor repair place. I probably should have done that this time as well.

This unit is not exactly an exact replacement. I had to cut away a little more ceiling because it was maybe a half inch longer than the original. I have full access to the attic above the fan. If you don't have access to the area above the fan installation location, I'm not sure you will be able to install this.

Biggest problem mounting the unit was the location of the support brackets on the housing. The ceiling is 1/2" sheetrock mounted onto 3/4" ferring boards which attach to the joists. When the bottom of the fan is aligned with the ceiling as per installation instructions, the support bars do not line up with the joists. They line up with the space that the ferring boards create between the joists and the sheetrock I had to mount the housing a little higher and toe-nail the supports into the joists. Only other choice is to attach some support boards onto the joists and extend them down lower to the support bracket height.

The unit comes with a new 'reflector' that accomodates a regular incandescent light bulb. The old unit had a much larger 'reflector' which gave enough room to use a CFL bulb. If you use a regular light bulb, the lens will get a yellow spot burned into it after a few years of use. I've seen this in a lot of houses with this model. So I use a CFL which burns cool and doesn't discolor the lens. In order to use the CFL bulb I just installed my old 'reflector' instead of the one that came with the new unit.

Construction is a liitle cheap, but so is the price, and it works fine. The wire hookup area has a flimsy aluminum shield and you're working with a lot of #12 wires that need to be folded away carefully in a small space or else the aluminum shield will bend and/or won't re-install properly.

It's a little on the noisy side, but it has the heater as well as the exhaust vent. To get a 'quiet' fan the cost is considerably more, especially if you want a heater as well. It's the guest bath so it's not used that much, so it's ok. In the master bath we installed a remotely located fan unit so that you can barely hear it running.

I bought this one to check it out for a house that we're rehabbing

This one is a bit smaller but still pumps out the heat and has

a decent exhaust fan (4 Sones). There is no night light in itsomething

I will remedy by hooking the light up to a dimmer. Overall this unit

should last as well as my old one It's a tried and true design

and built wellbut in China.

It calls for a dedicated 20A 120V circuit though at 1250 watts

it should run OK on a 15A circuit if not shared with any other big loadsesp a hair dryer.

At the current price it is a bargain for installation from above.

However, I agree with Hari NairAs a retrofit it has a serious design flaw. It

is difficult to install from belowsomething that could have and should have been

accommodated at the design stage. It can made to work by cutting off the

external mounting ears and drilling some holes to screw it directly to the joist

from inside the housing. Then, with a strong and patient person holding it close to the ceiling you can push

the wires through the wiring cover and wire nut them to the various connections. then attach the cover with

its' one screw (too bad the cover doesnt have a keyhole for the screw) and then you and your helper can push the unit through the opening and screw it to the joist.

I know this works because we did it last weekbut it certainly isnt easy.

I have always thought that designers who are too lazy to think about the end user and installer should

be sentenced to installing and repairing their designs for a month. Design Supervisors who tolerate such

laziness should get 2 months.

I'm subtracting a star for Nutones's failure to accommodate retrofit applications.

I bought the 3-plate warming tray as a present for my Mom earlier this year. I figure it'll come in handy for meals at holidays or family gatherings with many dishes. I've tried it out myself a few times. Here are my thoughts:

* It works as advertised-you plug it for around 8 minutes to heat it up, and the food on it really stays warm for about an hour. (I timed it.)

* This is important: Plates with perfectly flat bottoms work better. More surface area in contact with the warming tray.

* The power cord is very short. If you plan on plugging in the warming tray while it's sitting on your dining table, you may need an extension cord.

* There is no ON/OFF switch. You turn it off by unplugging it. So you can't just leave the tray plugged in all the time on a counter somewhere.

* Presentation-wise, the warming tray looks nice. Not too cheap-looking. No problems with leaving it on the dining table when your guests come.

* When it says "3-plate", it means 3 individual-sized plates. With larger serving plates, you might manage only 2 plates. Knowing this, if I were to buy this tray again, I would probably get the 4-plate version.

The cordless warming tray lived up to my expectations. I am enjoying not having to cover the prepared plates to keep them warm. The tray is attractive on the table, not too wide and cumbersome. The sides are contoured for easy moving around; however, it is a little tight for three dinner plates.

The large size has pluses and minuses: you can fit several dishes on it, but it's hard to find a place to store it as it won't fit in standard cabinets. It's also high off the table--a bit bulky in that regard. The surface is gleaming stainless steel, not glass like the old ones, but this apparently scratches, so be very careful placing dishes on it. Also a bit pricey--you can find used Saltons online for a fraction of the price.

I bought this to use on Shabbat, the Jewish Sabbath when cooking is not permitted. I am using the tray as an electric blech (I also have it on a timer to conserve electricity), and it works GREAT! I took hot food out of the oven Friday before candles, placed it on the warming tray, and covered it with kitchen towels. The food was still piping hot when we ate 2+ hours later. Even better, the tray warmed refrigerator cold food to pleasantly warm-enough-to-eat on Saturday. I placed the dishes on the tray at about 8am, and the food was warm for lunch by about 12 or 1. My approach to halacha may be different from the norms in your community, so please take this just as "been there done that" advice, and consult your rabbi re: halacha. I can't comment on the product's durability, etc, since I've only had it a few weeks, but I am thrilled with how it works so far. It fits 3 9x11 pans easily.

I already had this exact same warmer which I originally bought a few years back at Bed, Bath & Beyond. This largest version, the TWT-40, 1000 watt, is awesome. I have used it at Thanksgiving, and for extra-large lasagna pans catered in, hot dips at parties, etc. You can leave it plugged in and the food will actually sizzle. If you heat it up 10-15 minutes and use it cordless style, it will keep your food HOT for an hour plus. They are very well constructed, compact & nice looking. I ordered 2 more on amazon, and they are perfect. I have borrowed my sister-in-laws expensive chafing warmers--heavy duty stainless steel. They are beautiful and work great, BUT if you have to use several of them, they require cleaning, and they are heavy and tricky to manipulate in the sink. No fun when you're tired at the end of a long night of entertaining. No need for that with these cordless warming trays; all you do is wipe them down. That's what convinced me to buy these instead. I'm very satisfied and highly recommend!

Started out by replacing a toilet and ended up with a new floor and a new heater. And other things. The Nautilus was a good style and fit for what I was dealing with. It is quiet and provides more than enough heat for any bathroom. The thermostat works properly and the style is unobstrusive.

It is easy to access the wiring and to take out the innards so that you have access to mount the box in different ways (not all installations are new construction as you may know!). This also makes it easy to service it and I was happy that it came with a parts diagram, always a good sign.

I found it to be a good and thoughtful design for a decent price. It is recommended.

The other end was a little cool, so we are going to install the same type heater at the other end of the house. The towel warmer installed easily and is very solid. It isn't cheap looking or feeling. It actually looks very nice. BUT I am disappointed at the warming ability. I expected the towels to be nice and toasty when I get out of the shower. But they are just slightly warm and really only right in the center where the towel folds over the bar. I put the towel on the bar the night before and have tried snaking it through the warming bars every way I can but the towel is still only marginally warm. So while it is nice to have and looks great in the bathroom I renovated, I am disappointed in the performance. If I had it to do over, I guess I would spend a little more and get a bigger towel warmer that would warm the towels up better.

I have returned this product three times. I know, who would be stupid enough to try something like this three times? The first time the heating unit melted after being plugged in for about 10 minutes. The second time the tubes inside weren't even connected which we found out after putting water in to flush the system, huge mess. And then the next day, the water heater melted...again. I called customer service and they were very nice so I decided to try again. This time the water heater won't even come on!! called customer service and the very nice woman suggested that it must be user error. Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I would argue that some of the prior reviewers were a bit too harsh in their assessment of this electric fireplace. True, if you're looking for an absolutely realistic rendition of a fireplace, you will likely be disappointed by this product. But in terms of it doing what it is meant to do (provide soft lighting plus/minus heat in an attractive package), this fireplace does deliver. Yes, it is fair to call it a glorified space heater, but it's a space heater that is elegant and attractive to have on the wall even in a formal room. The flames are stylized and kind of mesmerizing in the way that the lava lamp I had in college was mesmerizing. I do find it to be soothing and relaxing to watch the "flames." The heat is also very pleasant.

On the other hand, I agree with those who suggested that this fireplace is too expensive. If it cost half as much ($200 instead of $400 retail, and selling for $150 with the Amazon 25% discount), the price would then be commensurate with the value of the product. It is also very heavy at around 35 pounds. If you're not much of a handyman, consider hiring someone to install it for you, especially if you're planning to run the electric cord inside the wall so that it doesn't show. Finally, the fireplace does not automatically switch off after a set amount of time, so it's probably best to avoid falling asleep with it on unless you want to risk it turning into a real electrical fire.

After watching so many renovation shows with these types of fireplaces...I thought it would be fun.

First, after reading the other reviews about this device, I decided NOT to wall mount it before viewing the flame effects for myself. I'm glad I did. The cheesy flames really detract from the experience, making this 'fireplace' a giant, expensive space heater rather than a cool addition to a room's ambiance.

Second, there is no thermostat with this fireplace. It would have been nice to have a thermostatic setting to enable the fireplace to shut off (or at least the heat to dial down) when it reached a certain level or temp. No dice. It's either high or low. It does (supposedly) have a safety feature where it will shut off if it overheats.

Third, it's BIG. And you're supposed to mount it at least 3 feet from the ceiling and other objects for optimum heat ventilation. Given that it's about 3 feet high...well, you really don't have much wiggle room unless you have very high ceilings. That and the fact that I have a colonial-style home with chair rails in every room except for the bedrooms...well, that again limited where I could mount this puppy. They also suggest that it be at least 2 feet off the floor for 'optimum viewing'.

On the plus side, it seems (in my test) that the heat output seems to be good and it does come with a remote control. But you're paying a premium for what is, essentially, a space heater. The LED simulated fire is NOT worth the extra $200 you're spending for this form factor. Skip it.

The case and external presentation is relatively attractive; it does work nicely as a space heater in a smallish space. If the "realistic LED flames" were not so horribly awful, it would be a nice addition to many a room.

However, the "flames" are just dreadful. They are orange ribbons, ala the northern lights, that stream from the bottom of the frame upward, kind of like staring at the yellow lines on the highway but upside down. In an effect similar to staring at the yellow lines on the highway, looking at the fireplace for any length of time at all actually makes me motion sick. And I'm not really all that susceptible to motion sickness. Even my dogs quickly averted their eyes from it.

Having heard rumors that the display was not very appealing, I did not go through the extensive mounting process that is to be done before turning on the unit, instead propping it up on some thick plywood just to see how things went. I certainly won't be mounting it, now, but if I did, I think I would seek out some different hardware than that provided; I used bigger screws and drywall anchors to hang a quilt last week than come with this very hefty space heater.

I really can't believe somebody looked at this product and thought it was ready to market. I have $25 holiday decorations that have a better graphics display than does this unit. Just such a disappointment!

Reading the other reviews of this product I realized I had to write one of my own to help potential purchases realize they will really be missing out if they bypass this heater. This is the fourth space heater I've purchased in the last two months and finally one I can keep.

My living room has three sets of glass french doors, high ceilings, and lots of windows. It is very hard to heat it, but there is no central heating system, so I have to rely on space heaters. I tried the expensive Vornado (over $100), which didn't make a dent in the cold, the noisy Honeywell oscillator (which not only gave me a headache it was so loud, but also didn't provide quite enough heat, though it heated better than the Vornado), and the WindChaser radiant heater (which left the room freezing cold but made me sweat at the same time, extremely unpleasant). Finally I found this item.

It heats the room to the point where it actually shuts off sometimes, having reached the desired 65 degrees at night or 70 degrees in the day. The fan is as quiet as the Vornado when on high and is even quieter when on low. The quietest heater I've ever found. And as for the cord, while my oil filled heater does have a thicker cord and I do notice that this cord gets warm where that one doesn't, after 96 hours of continuous usage, it is just barely warm. Hardly anything I would worry about starting a fire, though a thicker cord would be a good investment for the manufacturer to make.

Given the natural limitations of space heaters, I think you simply can't do better than this one. If this heater doesn't work for you, then an electric space heater isn't going to do it for you and you should be looking at other heating options entirely.

I bought one of these at Wal-Mart for $28 (their normal price is ~$42). Since it is a 1500 watt ceramic heater, it heats as well as any other ceramic heater that draws that much current, so nothing to comment about on that point. What that means is it will heat up your room, but it will take a while if it is not a small room. To be expected. Since it is not a radiant (quartz) heater, unless you stand very close, you will not feel a lot of warmth until the ambient T goes up and that will happen from the ceiling area on down.

It operates quite quietly (fan and rotation)and is not annoying. The rotation is smooth. The remote is a very nice touch and handier than I thought it would be. The LED display is bright, but located on top, so you can't see it from the front of the unit if you are seated. A design flaw, I think. The three warranty is nice. Cobstruction is pretty much all plastic, so I wonder how well the heat grates will stand up over time when the plasticizers evaporate out of the plastic. Nice styling. There is a handle, but someone stopped thinking too soon and there is nothing for your fingers to grip, so you cannot pick it up sercurely with one hand.

As the other reviewer said, the cord does get warm, but not hot. The insulation is the same thickness as in other space heaters I looked at not really fragile. I don't think there is cause to worry here. It does not appear to be UL listed, however, which may be common among cheap space heaters and is slightly disconcerting. Probably a cost control measure.

Overall a nice unit with no serious flaws and adequate heating.

This is a rewrite of an old review. I initially gave it four stars and went on a bit over that I felt the cord should be heavier and would likely be the thing that ends up putting this thing out on the sidewalk. Well, I've owned and used this heater for five years now and can absolutely confirm no problems.

Further, we rent the entire floor of a townhouse in Queens, New York City and this heater has been great particularly for changes of season when the landlord typically doesn't turn on the heat. It makes a big difference in our comfort when our home would normally be cold and uncomfortable without it.

It heats a rather large space very well and you don't have to be sitting right in front of it get toasty warm as the fan is strong enough to blow hot air quite a distance. It is also not too noisy--no motor noise from the fan or buzzing from the heat element, just the sound of air moving.

It can oscillate, but we never bother using that feature. Just put it in a corner or a doorway and turn it on.

I don't know what the difference is between ceramic heat versus that of a steam radiator or kerosene, but I can say from experience that the heat from this unit is very comfortable--not too intense with one focused hot spot and the rest just warm, and you don't have to be practically sitting on it either.

Bottom Line: Five years on, I've certainly gotten far more than my money's worth out of this excellent little heater.

Purchased this product from Home Depot in January of 2006 and used it to heat a very small room, which it did well enough. This year after using it for about a month on and off, the heater would shut down after running for a short time. I cleaned the vents located in the back of the unit and it now appears to be working okay.

The power cord does appear to heat up to an alarming temperature.

Nice featuers: Oscilating movement, timer and remote.

Bad: Power cord heats up to where it is nearly melting. It will shut down if rear vents get clogged. And it does't do a good job of heating up a larger room. I wouldn't use it for a room larger than a 10' by 12' bedroom with 7' ceilings.

We own two of these towers and love them, but the older one suddenly cutting off every time after a few minutes' use. We tried the recommended reset method of unplugging and waiting fifteen minutes before restarting - but to no effect. After trying and failing to reach Lasko's customer support, we did some Web searches and found that someone had fixed a similar problem by cleaning the vents. I inspected mine and found a thin layer of dust that appeared to be clogging the fine vent screening on the back of the unit. After simply brushing away the dust, this fine heating element is again fully functional!

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This is an unexpectedly nice fire ring! I am using it tonight around my front yard firepit (a scooped out dish in the ground, lined with limestone rocks).

The design is not too 'cowboy kitch': the horses are stylized, and can mix it up with more than the bear-and-moose decor you often see around cabins.

I like it for lighting a fire in my pit to watch as the sun sets over the red rocks. This is really pretty when flames are burning.

It functions more for looks than as a windbreak, although it does help some with wind.

SORT OF PORTABLE

It manages to be lightweight for a hunk of metal. It's easy to carry around, once assembled, and sturdy enough. It contains a fire nicely around a small to medium firepit. A large firepit, as in one containing wooden pallets, would be too big.

Note that this fire ring is only somewhat portable. It does break down into four pieces that nest together, but you need to realize the pieces/bolts will be covered with soot (and possibly hot) and you need to use a tool to tighten and release the dirty (hot) screwbolts.

With that in mind, you can still pick up the entire ring and toss it in the back of your pickup, which makes it 'portable'. It's not heavy or awkward to carry for a 5'4 woman like me.

I can see cleaning it off and breaking it down at each season's end to store nicely in my RV for travel.

There is no sack for the included bolts and tools (just a tiny ziplock), or for the four metal pieces that make the ring, so I will have to figure out some way to keep all the pieces together when disassembled in the RV basement. A canvas carry bag would have been a nice touch.

NOT A FIREPIT

For people who intend to set up the ring once and leave it alone, assemblage is a non-issue. Realize this is NOT a firepit. There is no top or bottom to the ring. If you set the metal on flammable materials, the fire will not be contained. Use your own best judgement with fire! :)

This CobraCo ring is the perfect size for what we need. It is quite easy to assemble and looks great where we placed it. It's quite large in circumference, but low in height, so it's perfect for a low-burning fire you spread out so several people can stand or sit around it. Just be aware that it's only a ring with no bottom, so you need to have an area cleared for it on the ground. You can't use it on the grass, for example.

They call it portable, and technically it is, but it's more practical for use on your own property. If you do plan to take it camping, it's best if you're going to stay in one place for awhile. Putting it together and taking it apart multiple times will get tedious. It's fairly easy to put together. Just be sure you have all the bolts in place all the way around before you start tightening the nuts. Otherwise it's hard to fit the later pieces together.

The metal seems quite sturdy, but it has some sharp edges, so be careful if you have kids who want to help. Also keep in mind that everything's going to get sooty with use, so assembly will get messier over time.

I decided to order this because I thought it would be safer if my paver-lined dirt pit had sides to keep the tree branches and cut logs within. The ring works really well for that purpose, but make sure you understand that this is a ring and has no bottom so it will have to be erected or placed on top of some sort of fireproofed base. This was easy to assemble right out of the box 4 curved black metal panels with 12 screws and nuts secured using the two wrench tools that were included in the package. The sides are about 9 inches high from the ground and the diameter is about one yard (36 inches) so keep that in mind when setting it up and laying the wood inside for the fire. I don't plan on disassembling it to take on any camping trips, but it seems that it wouldn't be too much of a hassle to do that if you wanted to pack it and haul it. The pieces fit inside each other. The metal pieces are painted black and seem sturdy, and look like they will resist rust.

I'm sure I will enjoy this for years to come!

We go to a beach that allows small fires on the sand and this is perfect. I have always worried about logs rolling off and into someone sitting near. This solves that problem since it contains the fire in one place and the ashes too, for easy clean up once everything has cooled.

At home we laid some paving stones in a square down by our picnic table and this is nice for atmosphere and warmth and better still it is more fun for the grandkids and us to roast marshmallows over and make s'mores. We do not have to all stand around a grill; we can sit and have some old fashioned fun and campfire stories too.

Buy BISSELL 1425A Little Green ProHeat

If you've read the majority of the reviews for this product you'll notice there is a consistent problem with the sprayer clogging and no longer working. Here's how to fix it. We originally bought the machine a year and a half ago and it quit spraying after only 2 uses. Bissell replaces it under warranty but the bad thing is that your "new" Little Green is only warranteed for the the rest of the time left on the original one you bought. Of course our replacement quit spraying as well until today when my husband figured out how to fix it. Get some liquid CLR Calcium Lime Rust Remover or Lime-Away product and pour straight into the clean water solution tank. Fill only to about 3/4 of an inch of the CLR in the tank, then turn on the Little Green and push the sprayer button. It will immediately begin spraying again. Let it sit for about 10 minutes, then run the rest of the CLR through. Then run through a tank or two of clean water. The problem is the phosphates in your water that clog the sprayer line. This should get rid of the clogs. I would also follow the advice of running through some clean water before storing your Little Green. Other than the sprayer problem the Little Green is very effective at carpet stains and cleaning.

My partner bought this for our office. We have area rugs over hardwood floors so we didn't need anything very big.

Her husband used it to clean the upholstry in his car and was quite enthusiastic. I used it on an area rug and thought it was only so-so. With no brush action it definitely doesn't deep clean, and while the heated water can be useful you have to be careful because hot water will set some organic stains.

The hose is only 5 1/2 feet long so expect to get on your knees for the carpet stains.

With those caveats, it does what it says, but I would be tempted to pay a little more and get the turbo brush model.

I had very poor experiences with early Bissell carper steamersreally cheap construction and they leaked everywhere. The compact Little Green line is an exception. Well sealed and easy to operate they are ideal for spot cleaning and upholsterya must for those with pets and little kids who spill and make other kinds of more biological messes. Use the pet shampoo with it for top level cleaning. For general floor shampooing I rent the heavy duty shampooer from Home Depot for $20 every few months and shampoo my rugs using the recommended carper cleaner and a half cup of Tropical Gain laundry detergent. I find the laundry soap in the big machine is so far superior to any home unit I can buy that it is worth the trip to rent it.These little guys are great for little jobsdon't waste your time and money on the bigger ones though.

OK So I bought this little baby before we got our puppy. I had bought it for the 2 cats that we have and thought it might come in handy for little messes.

My wife bought me a puppy for Christmas, and since then I wll say that I thank myself every day for deciding to buy the Little Green. I have used it almost every day since our puppy arrived, and it works great! Takes out every stain that the little girl can throw at it (at trust me she has thrown a lot!). I wouldn't reccomend it for large surface area cleaning since it would take for ever and there would be a lot of work constantly filling the clean side and dumping the dirty side. But for those little messes, it works like a champ. Haven't had any problems or leaks, but I have only had this for a little over a month. So far it has been well worth what I paid!

Hopefully this video captures the charm of the artificial fire. I love it! It's safer than a real fire and much cleaner. Flip a switch and it's on, flip a switch and it's off. The switches and temperature dial are located behind the door, below the faux fire. When the blower is on the warm air comes from the base between the front legs. No assembly was necessary. Only the door and embers are plastic, the unit is metal. It's sturdy but light enough to carry to different locations.

Ordered this little stove and was pleasantly surprised! Love the happy red color, and it's a great space heater as well as artificial fireplace. Double switch allows you to use only heat, only fire, or both. We've enjoyed using it as an extra heater over the winter.

This electric stove does warm my 12 x 12 bedroom adequately as a backup, but not nearly as quickly as my old Lasko ceramic heater, which was just too ugly to bear. The thermostat is a dial, located behind the door, near the floor. This keeps it out of sight, but a little difficult to reach. There are no numbers on this dial so one must set it by turning it until it goes on and maintains the temperature you're comfortable with. The on and off switches are also located in the same place. The flame can be turned on without heat, but must be on for heat to work. I took a paper and cut a template and tried to determine the temperature by placing my old Lasko with the digital thermostat next to it. That helped somewhat. Then I marked the template with what I was comfortable with at different settings one for overnight. So the thermostat was a disappointment. The flames are pleasant, but the Vernon I bought is more realistic (though it did not have functions as advertised). The heater is very sturdy, and attractive. I like the bright red. I replaced the two bulbs (candelabra 40 watt) with 15 watts so I wouldn't feel guilty about burning electrictiy. Generally, lookswise, this heater is perfect for my Victorian style decor and I won't mind leaving it in the room year round and enjoying the fireplace any time. It will also make a cute table top to set my fan on in the summer.

I am absolutely delighted with this little red stove! Everything about this purchase has turned out to be even better than ever expected: stove is a sturdy metal of caboose red. WORKS VERY QUIETLY AND EFFICIENTLY. I have a 400 sq ft park model home. I wanted this little stove to be used in the living/dining/and kitchen area, which is about 60% of my home's space. The first morning after I got the stove, we had a cold front (well, in Texas, it was about 45 degrees with cold winds). I bought this heater to use rather than turn on the central electric heat, as I'm usually in the main living area during the day and I saw no need to heat the entire trailer. I turned it on, both the flames and the heater, and turned the thermostat dial. The blower is quiet and I thought the heater wasn't working, but within 15 minutes -with the thermostat turning the heater on and off automatically -the area was already fairly comfortable. I'm not an electrician, however this timer is easy to install and works well. I installed one in a double box(originally had two single pole switches in it) and a second in a triple box. Installation was easy and the timers fit in without any problems. The cover plate and supplied cover pieces(knob and time dial)showed no gaps or obvious holes. The timers I received were Intermatic products. I used these on ventilation fans/exhaust fans and the timer alleviates the problem of having to remember to return and turn off the old switches. Just thought I'd mention that I purchased these as they are spring loaded. I noticed the other timers made mention of a battery in there description. Good product.

After my order I received an email from the seller saying they were out of the Intermatic. They offered a Woods or my money back. I have 2 Intermatic installed now and could not find them anywhere except for a much higher price online so I went with the Woods. The Woods is basicly the same type as the Intermatic. Installs and runs the same way. It does feel like the spring might not be as good as the Intermatic.

I have run my 2 Intermatics now for over 4 years without a problem. They install just like a wall switch. Good luck finding them though. Home Depot told me they bought all of the remaining Intermatics months ago and they are all gone now.

After a couple of attempts to get one that actually works (not from Amazon), we've given up. The first one we got never bothered to stop the cooking process until the lever was forced up. The rice burned every time. Returned. The button on the second one we got never wanted to stay down and cook. Returned. The same with the third attempt... ugh!! We're just using it temporarily now until we find a better model. We use scotch tape to hold down the lever to cook it and use an egg timer to estimate the cooking time. What a waste of time, effort, and money. Very disappointed since I've always thought of Oster as a good brand name kitchen product. Wish I could give it zero stars. :(

We got this as a wedding gift. It wasn't the one we put on our registry. It burns the rice every time and I've followed the instructions to a T several times.

Also, the pot and steamer tray are only dishwasher safe in the fact that they won't rust. However, they will discolor after the first wash. There really should be a warning about that in the manual. I specifically read the cleaning instructions before I ever put it in the dishwasher.

This rice cooker does meet your basic needs. It's very easy to use. However, we found something really weird about it. First, it produces some plastic burning smell every time we use it. Second, it beeps when the rice is done, which is good. But somehow, the beep/whistle won't stop until we unplug the power. Let me first say that I live at high altitude (over 5000 feet) so that might contribute to my issues.

First, if I cook 2 cups of rice or less the bottom always scorches, which I can live with. Forget about making one cup of rice, half of it ends up as a toasted crust.

The big issue is that it boils too rapidly and uncontrollably so that the escaping steam exceeds the capacity of the vent in the lid. This causes the lid to rattle and condensed water to spray all over the counter. I have to put a towel on it or under it to soak up the mess every time I run it. It sprays more than a quarter cup of water all over my counter. I would not recommend this appliance to anyone unless you like to clean up a big wet mess every time you use it.

Great rice cooker, doesnt take up too much space on the counter. Easy to use. I like the way it cooks white rice best. Brown rice and whole grains like wild rice seem to be not cooked as well. Might be me not using it properly but I do what the instructions say.
