It's on the middle to upper end of the infared heaters that are like this. It's great that it comes with 2 remotes (though you do have to provide your own batteries). It's quick to heat up and has a cool down feature when you shut it off so the blower stays on an extra minute or so. The thermostat works pretty well though since it sets at ground level the temps aren't overly accurate for keeping a room at a set temp. If it were higher up in the room it would probably do better.

As such I'd highly recommend it as it does work well and heats up nicely

I agree with the other reviewers that these inserts are cheaply made and the battery packs are a bit awkward, but I have severe problems with cold/numb feet, and these inserts have made it possible for me to be outdoors in the winter for the first time in over thirty years. You must be careful replacing the batteries, as the contacts in the battery holders are VERY fragile. The inserts are paper thin, so they can be used even in tight-fitting shoes, unlike battery-heated socks, which are too bulky to fit in any shoes or boots. The inserts are also better than the single-use toe warmers, because if your feet get too warm, you can simply unplug the wires from the batteries. I hope this company will improve the design and quality of these inserts--I'd gladly pay more for a better product. In the meantime, twenty bucks for these inserts is a good deal. Just make sure to also buy a AA battery charger.

I got this for my boyfriend for christmas, and he hasn't had alot of time to judge the product since it's been warm out, but these are his initial responses:

Pro: Heats up his feet quickly and they stay warm.

Cons: They can get uncomfortably hot if left on for too long. The strap to hold the batteries isn't uncomfortable or problematic, but it is inconvienent. Also, the shoe insert will slide backwards, so unless you want to adhere it to your shoe, it will become very irritating.

These foot warmers are wonderful. The only negative thing I can say is that the wires can be annoying, but once you have them on, you don't notice anything except for your warm toes. You can conveniently turn them on and off as needed. I get a solid 4-5 hours out of a set of rechargeable batteries. This is my first winter with them so I cannot say how durable they are, however even if I have to buy new ones every year--they are well worth it.

These are an excellent option to keep your toes warm in the winter if you have poor circulation like me. They cost a bit more than the chemical warmers, but quickly become more economical since you can use them over and over. Unlike chemical warmers they keep working even when your footwear is basically airtight like many well-insulated boots.

Runtime can also be as long as you want since you can switch batteries, but I get about 3 hrs on one set of batteries. They also take standard AA (including rechargeable) so you don't have to purchase expensive battery packs like some alternatives.

They are best used in an already warm piece of footwear though. They don't get super hot, but I find them to be the perfect temp for helping with poor circulation on cold winter days.

I ordered these foot warmers because my toes get cold and numb very easily in cool temperatures. The battery packs that strap to your legs were awkward and bulky and quickly slipped down my legs to my ankles as I walked. I felt some warmth when I first plugged the "cozy feet" in, but could not detect any heat a few minutes later. I returned the item to Amazon for a full refund.

I needed additional heating in my bedroom and this fit in the existing old fireplace perfectly! I was so excited because it looked so nice and couldn't wait to plug it in and get it going. Then, as we attempted to use the remote, or find control panels on this Yosemite model, we resorted to the instruction manual. The manual did not even match the heater. The remote described in the manual was not the remote with the unit. The control panel described in the manual was not on the heater, nor was there any control panel. Then I found white tape over a certain section of the manual. I held it up to the window to be able to read through it and it was the name of a company in China that made the heater and the directions to the street and building where it was manufactured. Someone had tried to hide that! There was an on/off button, that's all. We couldn't even get it to turn on! I feel like this was the same deal as the individual that bought a Coach purse at a "deal" online, and it was a fake made in China. Except this heater was expensive, and I believe I was sent a fake! I repackaged this heavy thing and I have asked Amazon to reimburse me.

Just received this item & it is WONDERFUL!!! It was easy to set up, just a few screws, & was ready to go. I ordered this fireplace & also the Heat Surge Mini to help heat up our living room & TV room at night & save on fuel & it really helps, in fact the furnace doesn't run as much so the rest of the house is cooler! As you can see from the online picture there is no way to tell if there is an off switch. And the description didn't say if there was one either. I have never bought a thermostat before, so I just figured it had an off switch, it had a HI and Lo setting instead. Which was not what I wanted. In fact who wouldn't want a means to shut off a heater..duh. Anyways when I pointed this out to the seller they disagreed about the clarity of the picture and would not give me a refund, amazon however did agree with me and gave me the refund instead. I'm still agitated by the sellers lack of cooperation, but amazon gave me some peace.

I have Cadet wall heaters in my apartment that have thermostats that look like this one.

As far as I can tell, these thermostats are useless. When I turn the thermostat up from the bottom settting, they click on at a temperature that doesn't usually match very closely with the actual temperature of the room. Then when I turn the thermostat back down to turn it off, it clicks off at like 5-8 degrees below where it clicked on.

Also, if you turn up the thermostat and turn it down multiple times, the temperatures at which the heater turns on and off seem to vary quite a bit from one time to another.

So I really have a hard time believing these thermostats can control temperature worth a damn.

I have seen baseboard heaters elsewhere that seemed to have the same deficiency. They get the heater running till you're hotter than hell, then they finally turn off and then stay off until you virtually freeze to death.

I think it probably is that the technology itself sucks. I believe these are what they call the "bimetallic" thermostat. Whoever invented this thing deserves to be hung, although he or she probably died centuries ago.

Fortunately, I think the new digital thermostats actually work, unlike these old-style medieval contraptions.

Disclaimer: These are all impressions just based on my limited personal experience with these sorts of heaters and thermostats. I am, for example, assuming that this thermostat is the same ridiculous technology as the ones that go with my wall heaters.

I am going to look around for a portable heater that has a digital thermostat to use in place of the jive turkey wall units that are built into my apartment.

I should emphasizeI have no reason to believe there is anything wrong with Cadet heaters or thermostats compared to other brands. As far as I can ascertain, the problem lies with the fundamental concept behind these thermostats, no matter who makes them. And I did notice that Cadet does sell digital thermostats that are supposed to have a 1 degree temperature control. That's the way a REAL thermostat ought to work.

I had a more primitive one that worked pretty well on my gas furnace in LA. I believe it used a mercury switch. Probably they don't allow those any more. Plus I would think that its mode of operation must be similar to these. However, the one on my gas heater worked pretty well. I think it was about 2-3 degrees F between where it turned on and off. That is reasonable.

Purchased this at Bed, Bath & Beyond. Humidifier put out a decent amount of mist and was very quiet; much to my liking. I turn on the osculating function and the machine began to rotate back and forth, but began to make horrible grinding noises when it reach the ends of it motion as if it was trying to over rotate. I thought nothing of it and took it back to Bed, Bath & Beyond to exchange it for the same model. After unboxing the new machine, I plugged the humidifier into the wall and the wall socket and machine began to spark! I tried a different outlet and got the same experience.

I will be taking this humidifier back to the store and looking for something different; if two different models of the same humidifier can't work correctly for 5 minutes you should run!

This cool mist humidifier is great when it works. The first thing I found nice about it was the cool mist as opposed to the normal wet and heated humidifiers. One gallon lasts 2 days at a low to medium setting. A nice blue light can be turned on during the night. There is a convenient handle to carry the water tank part so you can fill it. This cool mist is much different from the warm, too humid common humidifiers that have to be filled at least once a day if not more. It serves about three rooms with the 120º oscillating top the way my home is set up and where I placed it. I really liked the way it oscillates this made it comfortable throughout the three rooms it was humidifying. The light never came back on again after one of the times it was refilled with water. Then It began to make a slight strange clicking sound when it oscillated all the way to the right. I'm not sure what "ultrasonic" is supposed to mean here, but if it has anything to do with it being very quiet this was true until the light went out. I was wondering if it was worth taking back for exchange. I filled out the one year warranty/ registered it with Homedics. But the stores were pretty busy with Christmas shoppers and we figured we could live without the light.

BUT, I woke up to find the table and floor soaking wet, even though water was still in the tank and it was working as normal. About a half a gallon of water was all over. We could not find where they water was leaking from or what may have caused it. So, I turned it off and emptied the bottom and upper blue container. That's when we noticed it seemed to be coming from the seam (if indeed that is a seam, as it goes from bottom to top in a straight line. I thought we had a defect however I've now read reviews on this particular cool mist humidifier by more people who have had the same problems or other problems. It IS a great humidifier, but I'm very disappointed that it broke in this manner and I am going to see if anything can be done. Unfortunately this was not purchased at Amazon or fulfilled by Amazon. It was on sale at Bed Bath and Beyond for $49.99; they did have to go to the stock room to get it because there was only one left on the showroom floor. I'm wondering if they gave us the floor model. It's great however I'm afraid to purchase another for fear this happens again, especially after reading reviews here.

This was my first HoMedics. The humidifier function worked well. One of the things that drew me to this one was the oscillation feature. Unfortunately, like some have mentioned, it does make an annoying noise. I can deal fine with the loud white noise that some make, or even a loud box fan going in a room, but anything else will keep me up all night. This was a big downfall. I wasn't a fan of the light either, I like a room dark when I sleep.

Overall, because of these 2 alone, I'm not a fan. If you don't mind the noise & light, it may work for you.

I bought it to use in our bedroom but there are three problems--I found the light to be surprisingly bright in a dark bedroom, especially since I positioned the humidifier on the table that I face when trying to fall asleep.

Second was the sound. I'm used to normal humidifier sounds--even the louder coffee dripping type sound the large one in the living room makes--but this is more of an audible clicking sound when the oscillation was on.

Finally, if you live in a dry climate, expect to fill this every day or sometimes twice a day. It doesn't last long, even in a small room.

Its a good looking machine but, for the price, I wouldn't purchase it.

This is a very nice fireplace bought to put in a finished family room in the basement and it looks great. Although it has been very hot this summer, I tried the heater for about 30 minutes and it puts out nice warmth think it will be pefect to keep the room cozy this winter. HOWEVER, beware Amazon advertised this as 12 month free financing and it was not. Got for father's day, and have to say I'm disappointed in the design of the kettle and lid. It makes great popped corn, but the photos weren't very good on the Amazon site, so I bought thinking this was a higher-end model, really like the black look. The issue with the kettle is the lid on this lifts off when cooking, and rotates around until it is jammed between the two supports, a lot of kernels fall out in the process because the lid doesn't put pressure on the popped corn coming out the top. If I had to purchase again, I'd get one that has the solid lid that in hinged on each side. Solid construction, and looks great and works okay just wish design was better.

This is the best item I've purchased in a long time.

I'm still going through different brands of popcorn to find the one that I Love.

I say almost like the theater....because I have to make it myself as opposed to walking up and having it handed to me. LOL

I've tried making flavored popcorn and have had mixed results... I pop the corn first then try mixing in a large container..

Peanut Butter came out great... the Cheddar Cheese ok.. but the Caramel... not so much.. still working on it.

Both the main unit and the remote are easy to use; there is even a hook on the back of the unit to hang the remote, so it's not misplaced. I like the fact that it heats the air, not a specific object, so that I do not become over-heated. In addition, the unit is light-weight, but sturdy and thus not likely to get knocked over. If I need another space heater, I'll purchase a second one.

I purchased a Koolatron cooler and noted that the manual stated that non-Koolatron AC/DC adaptors should not be used and would void the warranty. Rather than take the chance with my old adaptor from a different brand electric cooler, I decided to order a new one. Koolatron offers its adaptor at its web site and I just about ordered it, but then compared Amazon's offering. The identical adaptor at Amazon is half the price of the one through Koolatron. I've used it a number of times and it works fine. It also has about twice the wattage capability of my old adaptor. One caution: the cooler cools or heats depending on how the adaptor or DC plug is connected to the cooler cord. Tell everyone who might use the cooler about this. I failed to tell my wife, and she thought she was cooling a load of food, when, in fact, she was heating it. Big mess.

Bought this adapter to work with the Koolatron P-20 cooler (/warmer), but unfortunately after 30 minutes of cooling indoors it began to emit a burned resistor smell. And when I picked it up, it was very hot to the touch. Not good signs, from my experience.

Comparing it to my AC-to-DC adapter from Igloo, it's much lighter and seems to be under-designed. You can't fool Mother Nature--increased weight usually means greater power handling capacity. In this case it just isn't there. Overheating isn't what I bought it for, either. In contrast, the Igloo adapter works endlessly with getting overly hot or giving off a smell. It weighs almost twice as much, too, which seems to be related.

Save your time and money and get something more capable. You'll be glad you did. Amazon has been breathtakingly cooperative in this matter, by the way, at least so far. Free return shipping and emailed labels are the way it should be done.

It's true you get what you pay for, whether it's cars, tv's or air. The Maxxair 4000 delivered maximum blowing capacity for a flooded basement. After returning home following a 2 week absence during subzero conditions, I was greeted with a broken supply line to the ice maker. The water had been leaking for days with over 3" of accumulation in our new log home's basement. We hadn't finished drywalling the basement and water was dripping off the ceiling like a rainforest. I rented 4, 1250 cfm units from the local rental agency until the 2 Maxxairs arrived 2nd day delivery from Amazon. I had the 4 rentals lined up on the wall directly below the broken line and the wall was still dripping wet after after 31 hours of blowing 82 degree air. Within 48 hours of using the Maxxairs the entire basement walls, ceiling,&floors were completely dry with no warping! The cost of 4 rental was just a bit more than the total cost of the 2 Maxxairs. Since the purchase, my neighbors used them for quick drying paint and I've leased them twice through word of mouth for other unlucky homeowners with waterdamage.

This blower really moves plenty of air. It seems well made as the housing is roto-molded polyethylene. It's a bit heavy though due to its large size, but what do you expect for a fan that moves this much air? The cord on it is actually 25 or 30 feet long (description says it's 10 feet long). After searching the net extensively, I came to the conclusion this blower was the best breeze for the buck. No other high output fan came close to the price of this one.

The intake grilles are plastic and the output grille is wire. The squirrel cage inside is stamped steel (as are most). There are 3 speeds and the only downside to this thing is that even at its lowest speed it's sometimes too much air for what I'm doing. I use it to ventilate my shop for welding fumes among other things.

Overall, an excellent buy since it's got Free Super Saver shipping (and I'm in Hawaii to boot!) Cost to ship this thing would be very high otherwise.

Honest reviews on MAXXAIR HVCF4000 4000 CFM High Heavy-duty Carpet and Floor Drying

This unit clearly moves a lot of air. However, the first unit I received had an off center squirrel cage blower and vibrated horribly, particularly at low speed. I had to spend $80 sending it back to the manufacturer who promptly replaced it with another unit under the warranty.

The second unit also has a vibration caused by a visibly off center blower. It was not as bad as the first one, but was not satisfactory. I wound up using a Rigid blower to dry a flooded basement, which is lower capacity, but which ran smoothly on all speeds with no vibration.

I was most disappointed with the MaxxAir PB 4000. Many dollars invested for an initially poor result. Update: The second unit was just replaced under the one year warranty and the manufacturer paid the return freight. The service level of the manufacturer has been outstanding. The manufacturer's customer representative was most helpful as we worked through this. I have now been served well by the manufacturer and am satisfied with the current replacement product.

not for use as a foam machine!!!! If you want to have foam pick the airfoxx or the maxflow. The angle is just too difficult.
