very simple steam humidifier. You should be aware of the types of humidifier and not be suprised at the hot steam and potential of accidental burns. If you have small child, you should not own this.

Pros:

Steam= no white dusts, no filters to change, bacterias are "boiled" off.

Stylish= no toy looking controls, no clear blue medical looking canisters

auto shut off when water is depleted

cons:

All plastic material shell(including the feet): now, I'm not sure if the outshell being metal is a good thing. It can potentially be a metal toaster oven if its made out of metal. Plastic does have a certain smell.. if you ever used a plastic electric water boiler, it smells just like that.

Designed in Swiss but made in China: don't be fooled by the swiss style design, this baby is geniue made in china.

The plastic chute is extremely hot, you can't touch that thing while the steamer is operating. Have to be careful.

Price: You are paying for the style, not functionality.

conclusion: only good if you want a steamer type humidifier and are turned off by cheap looking Vicks style steamer.

I don't write reviews often, but am really upset that I wasted so much money on this humidifier. My husband got this for me because I have frequent nose bleeds from the dry air. We used it for one week and was pleased with it because it was so quiet. I didn't like the hassle of having to take it apart daily to refill the water, but put up with it because it was cute. On the eighth day, I tried to turn it on but it wouldn't work. At all. The little blue light didn't even turn on. I took it apart and found a bunch of calcified deposits. The company states that it wasn't covered under the warranty because the instructions state that it should be "cleaned often." We had only used it for one week. Only buy this product if you are willing to take it apart and clean it almost daily (waste of time) because this poorly constructed piece of equipment is otherwise a huge waste of money. On a side note, we bought another product from them, the Max space heater. Although it still works, it doesn't work very well unless you're sitting about a foot away from it. We got another space heater that was about the same price and works infinitely better. I'm through with their products.

I bought this humidifier several years ago mainly because it was the only humidifier I ran across that didn't look like some big, plastic, medical equipment. It has work really well. The design is great! Super easy to fill and clean without a ton of parts. While it doesn't recede completely, it is at least whimsical and fun and like all Swizz designs, elegant and clean.

Honest reviews on FRED Humidifier - Silver

If you are looking for a relatively basic but very stylish humidifier, Fred is the perfect choice. Fred is warm air humidifier with a few basic buttons which glow a futuristic blue at night. Most humidifies in this price range have more functions and larger water tanks, but look designed for a drab hospital. Although made of plastic, Fred feels very sturdy and solid. As far as humidifiers go, it looks cool. You won't need to hide it.The only complaint is the water container only last for 4 hours on high and 8 hours on low.

I wanted this humidifier forever and was so excited when it arrived!

Very first night i used it the lid filled up with condensation then poured out the bottom onto my dresser. Took it apart, dried it out and planned to try one more time with a towel under it. No go, its completely dead & wont even power on.

Its very cute, but not even as functional as a vase because it leaks. For what it costs thats completely unnaceptable.

We bought 4 of these fans just before the County Fair as it was quite hot this year. They moved a lot of air, were easy to assemble, and appear to be made out of quality parts. We are happy with them!

A year ago I got into a bit of a "emergency preparedness" mode, and among other things, bought one of these devices, installed it in my water heater pan and then forgot all about it.

At 12:30 a.m. a couple of nights ago, an alarm began ringing. I had no idea what it was, except that it wasn't a smoke detector (not as loud as that) but after wandering around the house for a bit, I followed the sound to the basement and found a small amount of water in the water heater pan. The alarm turned off as soon as I pulled the sensors out of the water.

It was soon obvious this was no small leak. Over the next 12 hours until we got the water heater replaced, we easily bailed 30 or more gallons of water out of the bin we placed to catch the overflow from the pan.

Had the alarm not sounded, it could have been 24 hours or more before the leak was noticed. The basement storage room where the water heater is located, and the adjoining (carpeted) rec room would have been flooded, requiring a major effort to dry them out and damage/destruction of a number of items. Drying out the basement to prevent mold would have required the rental of some high-powered dehumidifiers (been there, done that).

This item did exactly what it was supposed to do. After reading some of the reviews indicating some lack of reliability, I may well install a couple of extras in the basement as backup, and putting some in other locations, such as under/near the washing machine, under sinks, and under the dishwasher, seems like a good idea.

Important tip learned during the water heater replacement:

The expansion tank intalled with the water heater has a shorter life span than the heater itself, and when it fails, the pressure from expansion of heating water then causes damage to the water heater tank itself, shortening its life. To test whether the expansion tank has failed, tap along the side of the tank starting from the bottom. There should be a noticeable change of pitch between the bottom (which contains the bladder full of water) and the top, which should contain air. If it sounds the same all the way up, the bladder has failed and the entire expansion tank has filled with water, preventing it from doing its job of relieving pressure in the water heater tank. Replacing the expansion tank is much cheaper than replacing both it and the heater, and may keep your heater going for years longer.

The Water Alarm also has a 6-foot sensor wire, so that you can extend the sensor into a sump pump, or the alarm will sound before water spills out onto the floor. The alarm plugs into the wall plus has a 9 Volt battery backup. We use ours for the sump pump & it works wonderfully!

When the alarm goes off...we pull up on the sump pump floater string & the sump pump starts right away and the alarm turns off right away.

The alarm is loud. Our house is a ranch style, a bit over 1,100 sq ft...the sump pump is in the basement...opposite corner than our bedrooms on the main floor...I could still hear the alarm going off in the middle of the night.

This item works as it says it will, I'd purchase this item again. We purchased our's at a major hardware store in our area for about $10

Best Deals for Glentronics, Inc. BWD-HWA Basement Watchdog Water Sensor and Alarm

Why is this better than Leak Frog:

1) 5-yr run time on each battery, provided that battery's expiry date is not earlier than that. Leak Frog? 1 yr. Maybe 2~3 yrs if you use Li batteries (my assumption only see my Leak Frog comment).

2) $9.95 @ my local hardware store and this is widely available. Leak Frog? Almost $15 now and seems like it's Amazon's exclusive offering.

3) Audibly louder than Leak Frog.

4) No screwdriver needed for battery compartment door, Leak Frog needs screwdriver to access that supposedly annually too! I dislike.

5) Slender form factor makes it easier to snug in underneath fridge and dishwasher.

6) Remote (if desired) sensor placement within 6' makes it super versatile. I inserted this remote sensor far deep underneath my fridge with ease. Leak Frog? Where it is located is where it senses.

7) Less toyish look I didn't pay a premium for the latest stainless appliances so that I can place a green toy there in plain sight. I wish that the Watchdog was black (or stainless) and smaller than this, but this is still acceptable.

8) 5-yr manufacturer's warranty. Leak Frog's 1 yr.

9) Leak Frog maker seems to be a one hit wonder. This one's mother company makes a wide assortment of other basement flood prevention goodies. This seems more pro.

I already own 4 Leak Frogs & now 2 Watchdogs, I still need at least 2 more water alarms, I'll get the Watchdog from now on...

Honest reviews on Glentronics, Inc. BWD-HWA Basement Watchdog Water Sensor and Alarm

I bought 2 of these from Lowe's today for $13.58 (model BWD-HWA). Each requires a 9 volt battery, has a 6 foot sensor wire and a 5 year warranty, although no guarantee it will work. It can stand alone or be attached to a wall with the sensor wire extended. The sensor wire can be spliced up to 100 feet, if you supply the wire. It's also claimed that the alarm sounds up to 3 days.

This thing needs to be in a puddle of water (1/32" minimum) to work because it has 2 sensors on the bottom that need electrical current flow between them the water being the conductor. It's not going to sense drops of water, but it should work in a flood situation where water is covering the floor.

I tested the ones I bought and they do work in a puddle, but the alarm needs to be a bit louder. It claims to be 110 decibels, and if that's true, then it's louder than most similar alarms.

It has a constant (non beeping) high pitch sound similar to a smoke detector but not nearly as loud. It can be heard if not too far away, but to be effective, it should be heard everywhere in the house and waken you while asleep. So depending on your hearing, the size of your house and where you are when it sounds, it may work well for you. However, none of these devices work if you can't hear them.

Should one of these devices fail, it would be wise to place more than one where a lot of flooding could occur and cause major damage to your house. Where your washing machine is located is a prime candidate.

I installed this in my sump pump basin. Over the winter condensation collected to the extent that it set off the alarm. This happened twice. The contacts should have been designed to dangle separately from a support. The support collected the moisture causing the two contacts to complete the alarm's circuit.

There is no switch to turn off the alarm so while it is screaming LOUDLY you have to take the battery out. I don't know why it didn't stop after I dried the moisture from the contacts.

For $26 its definitely worth the money. The temperature control isn't exactly the most accurate. You don't have a temperature scale just markings from off to hi. There are two heater settings, lo and hi. The heater fan is a little noisy in comparison to the honeywell heater. Honeywell HZ-7200 Cool Touch Oscillating Heater w/ Smart Energy Digital Control Plus

But for half the price its a pretty good deal. However if you want a quieter heater go for the honeywell.

Runs real hot or not at all. With control knob set half-way it blasts out hot heat then turns itself completely off. If I try to reduce the heat, it doesn't turn on at all. I'm oscillating between very cold (it's off) and overly hot (it's on). Will return it and spend more money on something that can be controlled.

I ordered this item because we have them in my office & they are very efficient and effective. I use it as a space heater in my bathroom because my bathroom pipes often freeze in the winter. I haven't had this problem since I started using the heater.

Honest reviews on Jarden Patton Milkhouse Heater

i purchased this item because of unseasonably cold weather in south fl.i own two patton heaters purchased some years ago,one at k mart, the other at target.both seem well built and have worked very well. most stores were sold out of space heaters,so amazon.com seemed like a good alternative. i have no problem with amazon.com or the seller, . the product was shipped promptly and boxed very well.the problems with the new heater were, top two sheet metel screws to attach the handle fell thru the pre drilled holes, two of six screws holding the back housing on were stripped out, two of four rivets attaching the fan motor housing had pulled out. i compared the other two heaters i bought years ago to the new one,the one difference was machine screws holding the top handle on, not sheet metal screws. i needed the heater so i repaird the problems myself. bottom line is i never again will buy patton products [unless they start manufacturing there product in the U. S. A. as they should be]. I do not recommend this product.

These little heaters used to be very good. I would buy one about every three years because after that long the plug would start to get hot. I would just replace it with another one. The last one I bought the plug got hot after about 10 minutes use so I took it back. The replacement was worse. After 10 minutes use it was almost to hot to touch. They have obviously reduced the wiring size to a dangerous size. I would not recommend them now to anyone. They could start a fire, I think, if left on for an hour. I still have one I've used during the winter for the past two years and it does not get hot after using all day long.

This is the worst small heater I have ever used. I keep it under my desk at the office. The idiot thing can't run for more than 3 minutes before the "Overheat Protection" kicks in and shuts the heater down. I do not have the front or back blocked or anything else that would prevent proper airflow, which would cause it to shut down that fast. Once the auto-shut off does kick in, there is no way to turn the heater back on for at least 25 or 30 minutes. This things is a piece of garbage and a total waste of money. There are much better options in the price range for the money.

I replaced this with the "Honeywell Ceramic Space Heater" available on Amazon for $21. It works like a champ. I regret buying the Holmes product.

I had purchased this heater to replace one from Duraflame but found this one to be severely lacking. It has a single control knob that allows for two temperatures, off and blazing heat of the sun. This heater blasts out intense heat for a few moments, overheats and then shuts down. During the shutdown time you are freezing until it decides to throw more heat upon you.

The heater heats just fine. But there is only one fan setting, which is limiting. It's either on full blast, or it's off. (most come with 2 or 3 fan speeds.) So, it's OK, but I wouldn't buy another one.

As like everyone else i was happy to have heat from this unit when first purchesed. Now only a year later all fuel line hoses have cracked which i have replaced with fuel lines that are rated for fuel not just cheap vacuum line cannot keep unit operational i am always pulling the main jet and blowing compressed air through which is a job to remove , flushed fuel tank, tried different fuels. As far as im concerned this is just more Chinese junk.Do not spend your hard earned money on this. I know people that have had their forced air heaters for more than a decade and have had no problems. I dont like to be negative about anything but when a company is not going to build a decent product people should know.

I have 4 of these heaters which I have been using to keep buildings above freezing for about 4 years. While they have done the job, they have been very problematic. I have had several catch on fire. They seem to be very maintenance intensive. Ive been replacing filters and nozzles on them to try and keep them running. I probably need to replace the air pumps as well but thats more expensive. The hoses seem to be ok so far. Ive been using off road diesel fuel in them. Like the other person said you are basically happy just to have heat but these are not made like old forced air heaters Ive dealt with in the past. They put out alot of heat and keep the buildings from freezing so they do the job, you just have to keep up on the maintenance on them.

Works very well, if using in a shop move it to an area that will circulate the warm air back through it so thermostat will cycle it on and off. I was heating through a doorway and was getting cooked out of shop, once moved it worked great.

I purchased one of these humidifiers last winter. At first, I loved it so much I ordered 2 more for my kids. We used them for 3 months and then put them away when we shut down the heater for the season. This winter, however, we've had nothing but problems. The first one started leaking water . (I suggest putting the unit in a shallow container if you have nice furniture, as this happens quite often.) The units were still under warranty so I contacted the company. They tried everything possible to persuade me from returning it. Their solutions to fix the unit were as follows: Clean the unit with lemon juice, only use distilled water, and empty the unit when not in use. I already do all of these things, but I have no idea how that will "repair" a leak. The unit leak so much that it stopped working. I spend $10 to return the unit. A week later someone from the company called to say there was nothing wrong with it so they were sending it back without doing any repairs. Needless to say, since they didn't bother fixing or replacing it, the unit still leaks water and doesn't produce mist.

When the first one broke, I started using one of the others I had. But after just one month of use, that one no longer produces mist. And now the third unit just started leaking water. I'm really screwed now because at this point all 3 units are out of warranty.

Initially, I spent over $150 on the three units I bought. I can't believe Sunpentown refused to do anything about the defective one I sent back. You think they would've replaced it just to keep a good customer. Take my advice: SAVE YOUR MONEY!!! THIS UNIT IS NOT WORTH THE MONEY...AND SUNPENTOWN DOES NOT HONOR THEIR WARRANTY!!!

I travel frequently and, while working on a job, my old travel humidifier kicked the bucket. After much internet searching, I found this nifty little device. First off, it's MUCH smaller than you think-slightly larger than a large box of 250-ct matches. Insert a water bottle, plug it in & you're set. Easy to clean & carry with you, the thing I love most about it is that if it runs out of water, it stops on it's own. It puts out a large amount of cold humid air for it's stature, but unfortunately it struggled against the incredibly dry air in the Minneapolis hotel room where I was staying. My recommendation would be to run the humidifier all day while you're gone with the door closed to your room and see if that humidifies the space more effectively.

Best Deals for Sunpentown SU - 1051 Mini - Humidifier

I initially purchased this portable humidifier to use at the office. It is extremely dry, and I had been getting dried up bloody noses from the dry heat. I was searching for a filterless humidifier, because I did not want to worry about filters get mildewy and gross, especially from not using it over the weekends and holidays. I also wanted something that would be easy to put away in a cupboard when I left work. I came across this Suppentown portable humidifier and thought it sounded perfect.

It has worked incredibly well so far. As an added bonus, I was easily able to wipe it out, put it in my bag, and take it with me to visit out of town family for the Christmas holidays. They have electric baseboard heating, which is extremely drying. I used to keep a regular humidifier there, but I was the only one who used it, so it needed a new filter every time I used it. This portable one worked perfectly!! A few family members were very interested in it, and my mom is even going to order one after seeing how great it worked.

The only thing I can think of that would make it better is if you could use a larger bottle. 16.9 ounces doesn't last very long if you have it on high (does not last through the night). I am curious to try a 20 oz or 24 oz bottle possibly one day. I have had issues with a couple bottles used so far. I think it is because of the cheap, flimsy plastic used. I have tried an Aquafina bottle and a store brand water bottle. Both could be a little difficult getting the adapter on properly. I did find a bottle that works perfectly and seems to be much sturdier (it is 17 oz., so close enough to the 16.9 limit). It is Talking Rain Sparkling Ice flavored water. I will keep a couple of those on hand at the office, home, and my parents' house.

I highly recommend this humidifier for office use, traveling, or small rooms. I'm not sure it would be the right thing for constant use at a house because of the water limitation. GREAT PRODUCT!!!

UPDATE 10/28/13

--------------------

Somebody in my office was commenting on my humidifier, so I went to Amazon to find the link to send them. I just wanted to post an update -I've had my Suppentown humidifier for almost 4 years now, and it still works perfectly. I just started using it again last week, so I do only use it during the cold weather (roughly October through March). It goes through a 17 ounce bottle in about 6 hours. Sometimes it can take close to 8 hours on not so dry days.

Through trial and error, I have discovered the perfect setup for making this humidifier work perfectly every time. I only use bottles by "Sparkling ICE". I tried several different kinds in the beginning, and these were the only type that allowed the adapter to screw on securely and didn't leak. So I stuck with them. I reuse the same 2 bottles (keep 2 in case I don't want to get up immediately when 1 runs out of water). I did get a 2nd humidifier to keep at my parents' house for when I am there, and it still works great, too.

I tried 20 ounce bottles (the Sparkling ICE are 17 ounces), but they immediately leaked. It's too much water pressure for the unit to work correctly. It's going to leak every time. I read some recent reviews, and it seems like a lot of people are having problems with leaking units. It's a shame, because mine works perfectly after the bottle experimentations. I also make sure that the water is not filled completely to the top of the bottle. I fill it to about 1/2 an inch below the neck. Filling it all the way up also seems to create too much pressure and will cause a leak.

Another cause of leaks --if you lift the bottle and set it back down, more water goes into the unit. Also if you move it around, the button will release more water into the unit. This also can cause a leak. If I accidentally do this more than once, I will take off the bottle for a few minutes until some of the water has been used, and I will then set the bottle back down.

I absolutely LOVE my humidifier and wouldn't give it up for anything. It has worked perfectly for my needs for almost 4 years and has kept me from getting bloody noses while at work. I highly recommend it to anybody who wants a low maintenance option for an office, hotel room, or any small room in general. (I've used it at home, and it's not enough humidity for me there for everyday use.) Just try the water bottle options that I've explained, and I think you will be more than happy with this.

Honest reviews on Sunpentown SU - 1051 Mini - Humidifier

PROS:

~ Quality manufactured (in China)

~ Variable vapor output

~ Automatically shuts off when out of water

~ Compact bedside table size

~ International voltage ready

~ Includes two bottle adapters

CONS:

~ Has a bright blue light that *could* be too bright for some users

~ Noise level is low but *could* be too noisy for some users

I'm hypercritical about manufactured products but this was quite a surprise. I did not give it 5 stars because there is no way to turn off the bright blue light that shines through the vapor nozzle. If you can live with that you won't be disappointed.

I've always used humidifiers in the winter season. The huge, heavy tank, the cleaning, ugh! Recently, I developed dry eye and was told by my doctor to use a humidifier to help with the nighttime dryness. After searching Amazon and using the very helpful reviews, I ordered this little dynamo.

You don't need a lot of water. You don't need to humidify the whole room...just the area near your head. This unit is almost amazingly SMALL. Quiet. Convenient. I bought distilled water from the supermarket, store it in the bathroom and fill a 16 oz water bottle every other day. It was never practical to use distilled water before, in the usual gallon humidifier tank, even though it is recommended. Who wants to buy/cart that much water?

This little beauty does the job. Lots of cool mist. In fact, on the high setting, it can soak the pillow case, so I keep it at about 1/2 setting. Every morning I take off the nozzle and top, pour out the remaining water and let everything air dry during the day. The bright light in the well was a problem, but I took a suggestion from this site and put a small piece of black electrician's tape over it. This doesn't seem to effect it's function at all, but I do wish the manufacturer would address this issue, as it is the main complaint.

I recently traveled with it, and it was great. Of course, it has helped through the winter cold season and the spring sinus season. Highly recommend it. Great product.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program We live in an old farmhouse and were delighted to add this touch of clever and comforting flare to our dining room. The styling is contemporary, but it's simplicity would work for any decor in any room. We chose to hang it in the dining room because having a great meal near the flicker of a fire is a simple luxury everyone can enjoy. When it is not alight, it appears as a low-profile dark glass box-a very clean and uncomplicated look, and therefore a pleasant and undistracting feature. The only part of its aesthetic I'm not totally jazzed about is the appearance of the power cord whilst plugged in. A perfectionist might consider wiring in an outlet at the hanging level and therefore being able to obscure it.

The fire logs are more like thick sticks that lie completely horizontally at the bottom of the bed. They look great, not all together realistic, but well done nonetheless. This is a electrical piece of wall art, so if you're looking for something totally convincing as a real fire, you'll need to get a real fireplace instead.

The instruction manual is very clear about features and safety measures that must be considered beforehand. For example, this item is not to be installed in wet areas (bathroom, laundry room) and must remain a distance of three feet from any ignitable items such as draperies or bedding. The installation is simple but info not included in the manual is to take care and use the proper anchors depending on your substrate. It includes 3 plastic wall anchors and screws, but as our old place has plaster and lathe walls, we chose to attach a 1x2 ledger strip to the studs because ours are not aligned properly with the strap hangers attached to the fireplace. We drilled 2" screws directly into the ledger, thus the fireplace is very secure on the wall.

The fire display is comforting, if not entertaining. Again, it appears not as a crackling campfire, but rather the hot embers at the bottom of one. After a few glasses of wine it might even look psychedelic ;). There are several levels of display one can choose from, as well as varying levels of heat. I'm sure even the lowest level of heat will eliminate any drafts in the dining room and the higher levels will make it downright roasty toasty in there. (It's still summertime here and thus I can't confirm this as yet.) The box does get quite hot and so should be hung out of the reach of small children and curious animals. Works great and the remote control is very straightforward. If you prefer to adjust it manually, there's a hidden control strip on the left side, similar to one of a flat screen tv.

If you're looking for a bit of comforting fun for a special spot in your home, this is a great product. Although it requires a semi-permanent spot, it would sure beat the pants off a space heater (although it is possible to use heater sans display) while serving as an enchanting conversation piece.

i am going through the same scenario as marty, i ordered and received the fireplace through target.com, it came through the mail in a timely manner, BUT, yea, when i openend it the log was broke and standing straight up in the fireplace. i finally got it down into one piece and turned it on thinking the crack would not show, but it did.

i called target.com to get a replacement log and after a couple of missed calls i finally got someone and they gave me two phone numbers to call, the first one i called was a distribution center that did not send out replacement parts, and the second number beleive it or not was to a law firm. so i'm kinda aggravated right now with the whole deal.it should not take this much work to just get a replacement fake log, so what if something more serous goes wrong with it, what will i have to go through. thinking about returning it back to the target store for a refund.also the flames that you see in the picture are not actually what you get in the fire place, the flames look like golden yellowish water drops floating upward, wierd looking not even close!!

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I'll admit, I was hesitant. I thought this would be an installation disaster, so I made sure I had plenty of help to get it up on the wall! 1-2-3 installation was smooth, just a few screws and you are on your way to a warm glow. If you have a real fireplace or that is what you are use to, you may find this to be too fake for your liking. However, it does give off warmth and a glow. It warms up the room. The room we used was only 9x11, so it was great! I love the remote control feature. Unlike others, mine was not damaged in shipment and all went well! I have to admit that I would look at the fireplace in the tv console if I were to purchase another. I want to look AT it and not have it above my head on the sofa. Our mistake, not the manufacturers, that is for sure! Just something to think about when purchasing!

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program

After my experience with Frigidaire MWF-10304 Monaco Vertical Wall Hanging LED Fireplace with Remote Control Black I really wasn't expecting much with this product. But I was pleasantly surprised. This 1500-Watt heater really has some good effects. The 'flame' animation is more like smoke animation...but the logs in amber are pretty realistic. Moreover, this product has excellent side handles, and can easily be hung on the hooks provided on the top edge. This is a much improved design over the smaller model.

Great little fireplace for your bedroom. The drawer is a great place to hide items and the piece itself is attractive.

Just received this item & it is WONDERFUL!!! It was easy to set up, just a few screws, & was ready to go. I ordered this fireplace & also the Heat Surge Mini to help heat up our living room & TV room at night & save on fuel & it really helps, in fact the furnace doesn't run as much so the rest of the house is cooler! Was easy to assemble, just attach the casters, drawer handle & 2 screws to the fireplace insert & good to go!!! Took me 30 minutes, tops. I would definitely recommend this fireplace to anyone looking to help save on fuel! Is also very pretty to look at, mantle & the flames are VERY realistic!!! UPDATE (3-18-13): This heater has been a God send this winter. Not only has it helped with our fuel oil cost, but we live in an old farm house. Our furnace is almost 20 yrs old & has given us trouble all winter. It manages to go our in the middle of the night & during a blizzard. Our driveway is 1/8 of a mile & we depend on someome else to clean it. Wake up at 3:30 in the morning & it's 60 in the house. Kick on the heater & with in 30 min it's up to 70. Powerful little heater!!

Lasko Ceramic Heater model 5126

Quiet, rotates, auto on and off thermostat, advertises to operate with in 2 degrees above or 1 below set temp. After 3 days of operation it is performing perfectly. Simple assembly of base with 2 self threading screws and 4 machine screw. Could not be simpler or more stable. Instructions and parts matched and easy to understand. Suggest you do not unwind cord until after base is on. Not my first Lasko product and won't be my last; I am happy.

My 3 year-old's room is the coldest in our house. It can easily get 10 degrees colder than our bedroom. I spent the better part of 3 years worrying about his comfort at night because our previous space heater had a 5 degree differential on either side of the setting, meaning that if I set it for 70*, it could get as low as 65 or as high as 75. That does not lend itself to a good night's sleep.

This space heater is much more accurate. I can set it for 68, and as soon as it registers 67, it turns on. When it reaches 70, it turns back off. This is a much better solution to our problem.

My only suggestion would be that the heater have "memory." When you set the temperature, it automatically stays on that temp until you turn it off. When you turn it back on, you have to turn on the auto temp setting again. I forgot this step one time, and it was 76* when my sweaty child woke me up to tell me that he was hot.

All in all, I would absolutely recommend this space heater.

This is a great heater with all the convenient features I wanted. Easy to assemble, works fine and everything about it is just a warm breeze. Had to order a second one and overall, I have four Lasko heaters in my house and they all work great. No complaints.

Honest reviews on Lasko Ceramic Pedestal Heater, 5126

This heater moves a decent amount of warm air, fairly quiet and efficient, but struggles to take off a serious chill in our large bedroom. Works great in the smaller office room though. This is the second Lasko tower-type we've owned, the last one died after 5 years. Not a bad looking product, pretty good quality. I would probably buy it again for a good, basic heater.

This is the second one of these we bought. The first one from Amazon. The nice thing about this one that we didn't find with other units is you can set the exact temperature from 40* on up. All the other units we tried would start at 60* and go up in 5* increments. We heat our house with wood and our laundry room and one of the bathrooms don't get much heat. So we put one of these in the laundry room and set the temp at 55* mainly to keep the pipes from freezing. The other is in the bathroom left at 60* to keep it somewhat comfortable in there. When we go into use the bath raise the temp to 70* or 75* and it doesn't take long at all to heat the room up. Nice comfortable heat.

I've been using the Eurodib 110v Induction Cooker for about six months and am happy with it. I have a Jenn-Air propane cooktop that is unstable at low temps, cooking delicate items such as eggs on it is difficult. So I purchased the Eurodib. The Eurodib give a very consistent heat output with my magnetic pans.

It has two modes, "Heat" & "Temp"

Temp has 10 settings in 30 deg. increments from 150 to 450 deg.

Heat has 10 settings from 1 to 10.

The unit defaults to "Heat" when it is switched on, then you can switch to "Temp". I usually use "Temp" because it is more intuitive to boiling water (at 212 degrees, for example).

The Eurodib boils water much faster than my 1100 watt microwave and I was fortunate that the teapot is magnetic. Not so lucky with the KitchenAid pots and pans that I thought would have been magnetic. Unfortunately they are the cheaper non-magnetic versions.

Recommend checking your intended cookware with a magnet if you want to use it with any induction cooktop. I had enough cast iron and magnetic SS cookware to get by, whew!

Rated 4 stars, I'd give it 5 stars if it had smaller increments than 30 degrees.

This in-wall digital timer is definately an upgrade from the old rotary timers I grew up with. However, installation is a little difficult as its size is as large as the common in-wall mounting box leaving very little room for the wires and connectors. I definately recommend this product though if you are confident in installation or are paying someone to install it for you.

Works as advertised. Easy to program. Had a ? installing it, called the factory, they were very knowledgeable and had it up and running in no time.

My nephew had purchased this same timer switch and I was able to see it in action. I was so impressed that I purchased it shortly thereafter. After the installation I set up the timer and it worked perfectly after that. I use it to turn our front garage coach lights on at dusk and then off at midnight. It works just great.

Honest reviews on Intermatic EI500LAC 7-Day Single-Pole Digital Time Switch, Light

1. The product is solid built;

2. It handles CLF light good because it uses a real mechanical switch to turn on/off the light. I can hear it sounds a tiny click within one foot in distance.

3. Its "random" feature makes its time control more like a "manual control": say you want your lights on at 7:00PM, by choosing the random feature, your light will be on between 6:45PM and 7:15PM randomly.

4. The display is too small for old people.

After searching, I found the timer that will work with LED lights. Works great and was easy to install. One thing is that timer is large (deep) so will be very tight if your junction box is not full size. Many exterior walls against concrete block walls (CBS) use smaller boxes. It will fit but there is not a lot of extra room.
