I purchased this wood stove about 3 years ago. I have owned other stoves in the past and was very pleased with each one...until I bought this one.
I live in New England and here we need to depend on a good reliable source of heat.I had not seen this stove prior to purchasing it...mistake #1. None were on display anywhere in my area. I went on the recommendation of a friend who had one, but knew nothing about wood stoves....mistake #2.First off, the stove is very hard to regulate. It either is set low and smokes all over or all the way open and will blast you out of the house. It probably would work better in a large home for that reason.
It is a poorly built cheap quality most likely a Chinese made stove(as quoted on another website). The first year I had to replace the door gasket 3 times until I emailed the company and they sent one that has worked fine since. The door is out of alignment and doesn't fit flush. The hinges have a lot of slop in them. Year 2, the handle broke off, very poor design and materials.I emailed and complained about it and they did send a new one free. Year 3, Some of the fire brick are now breaking and the grate has broken. There is a big hole in the middle. A new one on their website costs $ + shipping. They are also to last for years according to their website.
This is not an air tight wood stove like I thought. There are gaps in the doors and The fire box is thin metal. Overall it does technically work, but for the money it is very, very poor. Please do yourself a favor and look to a different company.I purchased this stove over 2 years ago to to replace an old oil burning stove. I could not be happier. Our family home is about 1200sqft, and this is our only heat source. I have even used the top surface for cooking meals during power outages a few times. It is very well made with cast iron doors, and heavy gauge steel box. Please read instructions on proper heating to prevent smoking if you are not familiar with wood stoves. Works greats, keeps us warms, and very efficient wood burner!

Vicks V1900N Waterless Vaporizer Review
Customer Ratings:
List Price: $21.22
Sale Price: $12.00

This waterless vaporizor is amazing. I have always had problems with congestion and it used to drive my mom nuts when I'd run the vaporizor all night only to wake up to sweaty walls. Any dust in the air would then run down the walls and leave dirty streaks. All that humidity also ecnouraged mold growth which just made it even harder to breathe.
If you don't want to wreck the paint-job in your children's rooms or if you have mold allergies, you simply have to try this waterless vaporizer and the pads. Yes, the pads are single use, but they do last all night. They have that same soothing, theraputic Vicks aroma you've always known.
The less than glowing reviews below are comparing apples and oranges. If you need steam, then get a personal steam inhalor to use. The days when people thought it was healthy to steam up a room over and over again are long gone. Keeping the humidity level that high for so many hours promotes the growth of mold and other mirco-organisms. In addition, keeping a room that wet night after night can damage your bedding and draperies and leave water droplet stains on your matte finish walls. Steam is great, but there are better ways to use it than an old fashioned vaporizer. Vicks now makes some great personal Steam gadgets as well.
The waterless Vaporizer gives you the benefit of the Vicks vapors that consumers have relied on for years. A unique blend of Eucaplyptus, Menthol, Camphor and other oils, it's more potent than most generics or competing brands. If your child won't let you rub vapo Rub on their chest, this is a great way to give them the same effect. Of course, I'm an adult and I still depend upon this product to help with my terrible snius headaches.
Great product! Wish they had thought of it years earlier.
Tip; pads can be used again if re-wet do not soak as you do not want to damage the product. but damp the pad and get more use.
I bought a different model that was made in the USA and used onlt pure Menthol and Eucalyptus and I found it to be 1,000% better.

Picked this up becasue of it's small size. Seemed to be the perfect alternative to the regular units in my son's room. It certainly makes the room smell like Vick's but you miss out on the most theraputic part of a vaporizer...the warm water vapor that fills the room. Good if you only want to smell the suff but not so great for relief. Somtimes newer isn't better.Honest reviews on Vicks V1900N Waterless Vaporizer
Cute little product, but the refills are awful ! We thought they used only Menthol and Eucalyptus oil, but they use lots of other's and we can't figure out why. They only smell bad and don't help your cold at all. I looked up some of the oils and the descriptions said they were dangerous and shouldn't be used for Aromatherapy at all ???I bought a different model that was made in the USA and used onlt pure Menthol and Eucalyptus and I found it to be 1,000% better.

I purchased this vaporizer over a year ago and it's AMAZING! Not only has it been helpful when my daughter (now 3) has been congested but my husband and I also have felt relief from cold symptoms as well. The only down side (in my opinion) is that the lid that covers the vaporizer pad is a little flimsy and broke when my daughter got a hold of it. Also, best to place it where the little ones can't reach it....the vapors leave a residue on the lid of the unit and if you get them on your hands and then touch your eyes, nose or face in general it can be quite uncomfortable....my daughter and I have both done this (unintentionally, of course). But all in all, if using all the appropriate safety measures and with proper handling this is a GREAT value for your money. The vaporizer pads are easily found at local drugstores and it's so compact that when it's not in use I can store it in a dresser drawer (I store mine in a zip-lock bag to make sure none of the vapors touch anything else). The unit emmits enough light to count as a nightlight in my daughters room....which I love, so I can monitor her more closely while she's sick.....I usually go in her room and check on her several times a night when she's ill. I would have to say, however, that the light is a little bright for my husbands preference....he prefers to sleep in darkness. But the unit is completely silent and has 3 different "strength" settings so you can get a mild to strong vapor depending on your need and preference. I love this unit and will likely buy a second when our new baby arrives....just in case they're ever both sick at the same time.Thursday, November 6, 2014

This heater is top notch! It's quiet, and puts out plenty of HOT heat for a basement below grade. I'm really glad I chose this over baseboard heat. Enjoy!Best Deals for Qmark LFK484 LFK Series - Surface Mounting Frame Navajo White
Bought this heater for my man cave. Instructions were clear and I even called in for customer support to check on the breaker type and wire gauge, they were super helpful and knowledgeable. Total installation time took about 2 hours mostly to run the wiring from the breaker box to my wall location. As for heat, the 400 sq ft room heats up in about an hour from 30 to 70 degrees. Very pleased with this product and would recommend it to anyone looking to heat a man cave...Honest reviews on Qmark LFK484 LFK Series - Surface Mounting Frame Navajo White
I've had my heater installed for over a year now. I use it to heat my studio/garage. It heats up the space pretty quick and maintains temperature without turning off and on all the time. If space is a consideration, you'll like this heater. It takes up very little wall space.Thursday, July 24, 2014
Buy Mr. Heater F232025 MH9BX Buddy 4,000-9,000-BTU Portable Radiant
There are currently two seemingly identical models listed on Amazon, the F232025 and the F273400. I contacted the manufacturer and verifed that the F232025 is the newest version. The F273400 was manufactured through 2008. For this reason, I'd recommend purchasing the F232025. It's also cheaper.
Please be kind enough to indicate if reviews are helpful.
I also bought a Mac Coupler to go along with this heater, this lets you refill the 1LB propane bottles from your 20LB gas grill propane bottle so you won't have to throw the 1LB propane bottles away. I would suggest for anybody that uses the 1LB propane bottles to buy a Mac Coupler, just search for it on amazon and read the reviews for it. It will save you alot of money!
Some other reviewer from Colorado on here said this does not work that great at high altitudes, but I live in Colorado as well, and I have used this heater at several lakes ice fishing including Antero Reservoir (8900 ft. altitude) and 11 Mile Reservoir (8600 ft. altitude) and the heater has worked fine. I guess it just doesn't work at the really super high altitudes like 10,000 ft. and above.
First I should say that I have been using an older version of this product for a couple of years now and have only good things to say about it. So when the need arose to buy two more Portable Buddy heaters I went right to Amazon and did so. The new Buddy differs from the old in several seemingly unimportant ways, but these differences are important.
1. The propane connection is now built with a swivel mechanism which makes attaching a propane bottle much easier. Remains to be seen if this feature works well over time.
2. The control valve has been redesigned. The old model had a separate valve control and ignitor control. Now these two functions have been combined in a single control. The best I can say about this is that it is "funky", meaning that it doesn't work smoothly and requires a bit of fussing with it to change the control from one setting to the next. This is consistent with both units I purchased.
Just one week after the 30 day Amazon return period expired, one of these units stuck in the HIGH position and would not turn off. After messing with the control for about 30 minutes, I was finally able to get it to the off position. The internal push-to-turn safety mechanism just barely works correctly on a good day. I think it's only a matter of time before both fail completely.
Warranty service requires you to return the unit at your expense. Meanwhile my old Buddy continues to work flawlessly. Let me also state that I'm very mechanically minded so the problem here is not with my skill level.
While in Vail, the temps made it down to 25 the first night we were tent camping and the Mr. Buddy heater kept our 100 sq. foot tent toasty warm throughout the night.
Over the 9 day trip we successfully used the unit at various altitudes up to 8500' and temps down to 25 with no problems whatsoever. I used the 16 oz propane canisters (green coleman fuel) with ease. (Count on about 1 can per night)
Excellent product and designed with safety in mind...even though the unit is kicking out the heat, the surround and body stay cool enough to touch. No concerns for my tent floor.
Shop around and get it on sale. (Minor note mine has the newer yellow body vs. the pictured red)

Bought a heater to keep us warm while buddies and I ice fish while the lakes are frozen here in Colorado. I was torn between this Buddy heater and the bigger model, the Big Buddy heater, but decided this smaller one would work fine. It does the job nicely, when we are in our ice fishing tent we turn it on and it heats it up nicely. The only thing I wish this model had was a fan blower like the bigger model has, because most of the heat it produces goes straight up. It might be worth it just to buy the bigger model so you can have the fan blow the hot air on you. This thing does produce some serious heat though, if you put your hands too close to it they will start to burn after a few seconds.I also bought a Mac Coupler to go along with this heater, this lets you refill the 1LB propane bottles from your 20LB gas grill propane bottle so you won't have to throw the 1LB propane bottles away. This is for the MH9BX newer version of Mr. Heater Portable Buddy. It would appear that Mr. Heater has made some improvements in the Portable Buddy line and perhaps they have, but as is often the case these days "improved" versions are often lacking.First I should say that I have been using an older version of this product for a couple of years now and have only good things to say about it. I bought two of these units last winter (2012-2013) and they put out great heat. This year I tried to turn one of them on and the power switch broke. It just twists without stopping, in a complete circle. No heat. A couple of days later the power switch also broke on the second unit. I'm not going to buy another Holmes brand heater again. I've also had many troubles with a series of Honeywells. Does anyone make a good inexpensive space heater?

Reviews of Conair HLD31 Heated Lotion Dispenser
This works great for warming the lotion for a baby after a bath, and is easy to use. The lotion is warm, but not hot. You will need to fill the dispenser from your normal lotion bottle and the dispenser plugs into an outlet.

I owned the other conair lotion dispenser for a couple of years and I dropped it and it broke. So I was happy to find this newer model! It's awesome being able to adjust the temperature of the lotion and if your lotion is thick, it will thin it out and make it silky warm! Great being able to apply warm lotion on your body especially during the cold weather! (-:Honest reviews on Conair HLD31 Heated Lotion Dispenser
The intructions don't tell you how to prime the pump. I was about to send it back when I tried using water first, then transferring the pump to the lotion. After expelling the water the lotion then flowed freely. The biggest complaint I have for this item is that it does not heat very much lotion at a time. One pump's worth, then you have to wait for the next pump to heat up. I hope this helps!!!Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Conair HLD31 Heated Lotion Dispenser
I recently purchased this product for the cold winter months in the North. I also had to put lots of lotion on to prevent stretch marks during my pregnancy but dreaded putting cold lotion on. This product I would definately recommend to anyone that likes to put lotion on but hates putting it on cold.Saturday, February 15, 2014
Sunbeam 1.7-Liter Electric Kettle, 1500-Watt Review
Customer Ratings:
List Price: $24.99
Sale Price: $21.21

I just bought this tonight at an army PX. When I took it out of the box, I read the directions (6-pages, people, including all the safety mombo-jumbo junk). I cleaned out the kettle like the directions said and plugged it in. As it was heating up, I went online to read when the product actually turns off automatically (since there is only a blurb in the user manual that states: "Ensure the ON/OFF switch is clear of obstructions and the lid is firmly closed. The electric kettle will not turn off automatically if the ON/OFF switch is constrained, or if the lid is left open."). In the time I came online to find this product, there was a "pop" from the kitchen that sounded like a muffled circuit break. When I went out to the kitchen, I found that the kettle did indeed automatically turn off. I turned it back on, and immediately the water boiled for about 10 seconds before it turned off again. I did not see any chemicals on top (like the one review says), and I did not smell any odor. I felt the need to write this review because I felt the others were unfair. Had the other reviewers that rated this poorly read the directions, they would have seen that you are supposed to clean it twice before its first use (which may have eliminated many of their complaints). Either way, I don't care if you buy this product or not, since I have no stake in it, but felt obligated to write a review that seemed more fair.
To be fair: My wife and I used the kettle only once for a cup of tea and it turned out fine. I did not give it 5-stars because I only have had it for a few hours and am not able to comment on its longevity. If this product still performs well in a few years (as I expect appliances to do), I would rate it one more star. Also, I am a stickler and hardly ever rate ANYTHING in life perfect (except my wife), so that is why it received 4-stars, in case you were wondering.
Update (30 January 2012): We use this at least once and sometimes twice a day. Longevity has proven this product worth 5-stars (although I waited less than a year, I am none-the-less impressed).
It has performed as well as advertised, meeting all of our expectations.
I'm not sure why the other posters had bad experiences (though I see they appear to have posted on both versions of this kettle).
As for quality of the water, we've made tea, cocoa mixes and my French Press coffee (that I'm very particular about -French press vs drip coffee), all with no complaint. The manual does provide specific instructions for flushing the kettle prior to use -perhaps the posters failed to follow those instructions.
We use it 5 to 7 times a week, and have never had an issue with the auto shut off not functioning.
It does sound like heavy boiling, then appears to taper off some before it shuts off. Perhaps the other users didn't wait long enough for the full cycle. Opening the lid will definitely subject you to dangerous steam -it is boiling water.
I highly recommend this kettle, and will likely buy some as gifts for family. The convenience and water quality are far better than our stove top kettles of the past 20 or so years.
In short, I'd recommend going with something a little pricier that actually works!

Terrible odor makes the water undrinkable. They treated the inside with some chemical that even after frequent washing still does not come out. No, the odor is not from the water as I used the same faucet with the previous kettle I owned but replaced with this when the top broke off the other kettle. The problem is this Sunbeam. This company used to make decent products then went south and I have now been disappointed for the last time. I also bought this kettle on sale at Target for $13. It lasted for about 4 months, and just broke today. Thermal Switch Can be used with Fireplace Blowers for automatic Reviews
This little thing works just as advertised. Hooked it up electrically in-line with the blower in the fireplace, and now the blower only comes on when the fireplace warms up (no more blowing cold air), and then after the fire is turned off, the blower stays on until the fireplace is cooled down.
I found some surplus neo-magnets at an office supply and crazy-glued them to the side tabs. That way, I could mount the switch, without drilling holes, to the bottom of the fireplace (actually, the inside top of the blower cavity).
My local Napoleon dealer wanted $35 for a new thermoswitch. Amazon had a much better price. The only difficulty with the 19-SF2-115 switch is that it "turns on" at a lower temperature (110F) than the one supplied by Napoleon (120F).
I first tried installing this switch it to the side of the fireplace box (same location as my newer gas fireplace). The problem with this location, is that the sheet metal box stays warm at this location for a long time, even after the fireplace flame is turned off. I discovered that the blower would stay on for 3-4 hours after the flame turned off. This is probably why Napoleon uses a 120F switch instead of the 110F switch. By the way, the 120F thermoswitch switch takes a good 15 minutes to turn on.
By experimentation, I discovered that if I mounted the 110F thermoswitch on the sheet metal air deflector directly above the fireplace box (see attached photos), the blower starts approximately 2 minutes after the flame turns on and shuts off approimately 8 minutes after the flame turns off. It is the perfect location for this switch!
The switch is held in place by two magnets that I epoxied on to the sheet metal tabs on the switch (see attached photo). I wired the thermoswitch directly into the 110VAC blower circuit using a total of 8 feet of 250C high temperature wire (available on Amazon and the major auction site).
As a point of interest, I also have the gas valves on both gas fireplaces connected to a "millivolt" thermostat located on the other side of the room. The thermostat turns on and off the gas fireplace to maintain the temperature of the room. I set the thermostat in my basement to about 65F. It works very nicely to take the "chill" out of the basement.
Summary: The switch works well, but some experimentation with the location may be required.
Hope this review helps!
What is special is not so much the item, but the wisdom and advice of the seller.
My gas Fireplace had a number of design faults since new five years ago.
One of the issues was the fan control. The original supplied thermoswitch did not cut the fan in until 207 degrees F. The original switch was not fixed (You can not drill in a fire box). So the original unit flopped about above the box. Eventually the plastic insulators over the connectors crumbled due to heat, the switch moved and shorted against the fire box. In a shower of sparks the switch and solid state fan controller were blown and the breaker tripped at the panel.
I followed this sellers advice and used his switch that cuts in at 115 degrees F. I used the heat shrink over the connectors as extra protection.
The really brilliant piece of his advice was to use powerful small rare Earth magnets to secure the thermoswitch to an ideal location above the fire box in the airstream. Now this gas fireplace works better than ever.

Unit is fine but nothing special about it. His advice free but priceless. Thank you!
I found some surplus neo-magnets at an office supply and crazy-glued them to the side tabs. That way, I could mount the switch, without drilling holes, to the bottom of the fireplace (actually, the inside top of the blower cavity).

I have two Napoleon gas fireplaces in my home. The newer gas fireplace came with a thermoswitch to automatically turn on the blower when the fireplace gets hot. The older gas fireplace had a blower but it did not come with a thermoswitch. The automatic blower is a very handy feature. I wanted to upgrade my older gas fireplace to have this feature.

This switch works as designed and has an appropriate temperature range. What is special is not so much the item, but the wisdom and advice of the seller.
