If you follow the instructions and use the included cheap plastic inserts and the provided screws, the insert will crack and the recommended 3/8 dia. drill size will not allow you to secure it tightly to a wall. Toss that package and get some 3/16" x 2" wing nut expansion anchors from Home Depot or Lowe's to go into your "already its too late I drilled the 3/8" holes." Secure the two support plates to the wall, adjust with a level and tighten. Then it works great and is not going to come loose. The glass front insert, is difficult to level in the side slots, but with some adjustment you can get it level. When filling the fuel tray remove the glass front, even though the instructions fail to mention this...any spills wll go up in flames before the fireplace fuel box intended fuel will. Fuel is expensive and if it were pegged to the price of a barrel of oil it would break the bank. All of that being said plus an additional $5.00 spent in metal wall anchors, the unit is beautiful and a perfect size for a small apartment, office or even a kitchen to add atmosphere with a bonus of a bit of heat also.

Love this fireplace, very easy to hang and lightweight. Does not get overly hot against the wall from what I've seen. Fire warms the room nicely. Definately recommend. The only issue I've had is it's hard to get the biofuel into the bins without and spilling it...and you DON'T want to spill it as it's an accelerant and will burn rapidly on anything it touches. So it would be nice if they would come up with some pour spout for the biofuel to make it easier! Otherwise, LOVE IT!

Just received my Chelsea stainless steel fireplace. I ordered the item on line on a Tuesday and received it by Friday. Item arrived very nicely packaged as to avoid any dents...great as this has occured when I've ordered other stainless steel items. Item is just as it appears on line. Very nice. It is very light so I should have no problem mounting this without the help of my husband. It's about the size of a 27" flat screen and will look great under the television. The best thing about this order was the great customer service I received. I called the seller directly as I had a problem with promotional code. I think I spoke to the owner and he informed him of my issue. The mounting instructions and the poor quality of the mounting materials made me concerned that this item could set my home on fire. The mounting instructions call for drilling a 3/8 inch hole in which to place the wall anchors to mount this thing. This is far larger than is appropriate; I drilled a smaller hole and even that swallowed up the wall anchors. The anchors and mounting gear themselves are of poor quality and failed to grip the wall when screwed in. This made me concerned that the fireplace would fall out of the wall, spilling burning ethanol all over the room.

At this point I thought it best not to experiment further with it.

I needed a gas heater for a Diwali lawn party. The big ones from Costco were too expensive. So I took a chance and bought this contraption that attaches to a propane tank. Installing it was easy. Starting it was also simple, just follow the instructions to the letter: instead of a match, use a lighter for a steady flame. Once it started up, it ran for 3 hours at the 'low' setting and the tank was still half-full at the end. The heat was more than adequate in a five-foot radius around the tank. I would definitely recommend this!

i have been using heaters like this for years now .

this is the 3rd one i have bought for my shops office , restroom and kitchen areas .

the rest of my shop i heat with a big propane heater but very little if any get's into the office area so i use this type of heater for that . when i get in every morning i turn it on the low setting and it then runs all day for about 10 hours i'm there 6 days a week . i burn about 50 LBS of propane every week so it's not to bad with that and it keeps the office about 70 to 75 degrees from the 55 to 60 degrees it is when i 1st get into the shop in the morning . it will warm the office up in about a hours time this is a cement block building that gets very cold when the out side temps are around 20 to 30 degrees .

on very cold days when it's in the single numbers i will turn up the dial to high and it will use more propane but it still keeps the office nice and warm .

The price was good. It does do a good job of heating the bladder. The only thing I would prefer is for it to have an actual temperature gauge that you could set. All it has is low, medium, and high.

I received the Duraflame Chandler 23" Fireplace damaged. All 4 casters were broken. I called the customer service number at Factory Authorized Outlet and was transferred to Twin-Star customer service without even being told. Twin-Star customer service gave me a "problem ticket" number and said someone would call in 1-2 days. After one week and no call, I called back and gave the person the ticket number and was told again that I would be called. Almost another week and no call. The damage issue could be resolved with parts, however, I will now have to return the $230 item as there is no customer service.

After much research and consideration, and after a disappointing purchase of a smaller infrared heater, I purchased the Duraflame Chandler 23" fireplace heater. This purchase was for my mom who is 83 years old. She has a woodstove in her family room and we came to a mutual agreement that last winter was her last winter to build and maintain fires in the woodstove. It had become too physically taxing for her to continue doing so. She is very pleased with the Duraflame Chandler fireplace heater. It keeps the family room (where she and her sister, who is 85, spend most of their hours)at a toasty temperature. My mother also loves being able to watch the fireplace "flames" and is really enjoying this heater. The adjustable thermostat and remote control are great additions that were not available on the first infrared heater that I purchased (and returned). Everyone who has seen the fireplace give it high marks for functionality and beauty. My mom received her first electric bill that encompassed a complete month of using the fireplace on a daily basis. The bill only went up about $11.00 and all of that cost was not totally attributed to the addition of the fireplace heater. I recommend this heater highly!

I absolutely love the Simply Automated product lineup. You will not find any other product that allows more customization and configuration options. The UPStart software makes it a breeze to set them up. I am slowly replacing every switch in my house with a Simply Automated UPB device. I currently have 28 devices and I'm about to buy my 29th. It's becoming an addiction. These devices are rock solid. I have never had one fail. I use them in conjunction with my HAI Omni IIe automation system. However, they also work great as a stand-alone system. If you plan to install a bunch of these as I have, I highly recommend some sort of whole-house surge suppressor.

I bought this based on the other 2 user reviews, and now I'm convinced these were created by the manufacturer.

There's nothing positive I can say about this product, but as for the negatives...

It has barely any effect on the room temperature when set to air-cooling mode.

It's extremely loud and obnoxious. Seriously, it sounds just like an idling lawn mower.

Emits a nasty, exhaust-like smell.

Save yourself the time and money, you really don't want this product at any price.

EDIT (6/10/11): My suspicions about the other 2 reviewers (Ken Manning, Dave Martin) at the time of my purchase can be confirmed by their reviewing and tagging history. Look for yourselfBoth have only reviewed this product (with a raving positive review of course), and have tagged every Whynter product with an assortment of positive/descriptive adjectives. After reading the other reviews, my story is hardly unique here. The product worked (marginally, I might add) for about 3 weeks before beginning one night to emit a deafening, grinding noise. I disassembled the whole thing to see if I could figure out the problem. Didn't help. I emailed Whynter customer service and after several back and forth exchanges with basically useless ideas to fix it, I got a return authorization to send it back. I heard absolutely NOTHING from them for over six weeks until I basically hounded them about the whereabouts of my unit. After TWO MONTHS of waiting, it finally arrived again. I plugged it in and was greeted by...THE SAME HORRIBLE NOISE! After over two months, they fixed absolutely nothing. It sucks. They suck. Do yourself a favor and DON'T BUY THIS GARBAGE!

Whynter Air Cooler/Heater/Humidifier

Timeframe: 2 months

My usage conditions: 51F to 78F, Humidity 60% to 80%

Functions used: Heater, evaporative air cooler, humidifier.

Design:

I selected this primarily for the design and color scheme. I did not want another white/beige appliance or some psychedelic blue or pink candy painted device. Conventionally shaped and subtle in overall appearance. Top marks.

Functionality: The Whynter air cooler is a misnomer, while it does a solid job cooling a 150square foot space, it does a whole lot more than cool. The heat was nice to have when the temperature dipped and the humidity control is very useful when dealing with dry air resulting from heater use. Intuitive and easy to control. The water tank at the base take a bit of jiggering to slide in and out but otherwise I do not have any issues with it. The filters built into the unit do provide some degree of purification. My room air purifier lasted about 30% longer before the indicator light came on. It is light weight and portable, but be careful when you move it with the water tank filled.

Quality:

Well built with softtouch controls. The remote control was responsive and fit nicely into the attached holster on the unit. Material is were primarily plastic. Easy to clean and maintain. Pre-filter is easily removed and cleaned. No fuss device.

Price:

Quite reasonable for all that it does. I would take this over 3 or 4 separate devices any day.

Overall:

One of my better purchases this year. top scores across the board.

Whynter Eco-Friendly 5 in 1 Evaporative Air Cooler (HAC-100S)

Never quite experienced an air cooler before, it is decidedly a good product that does well for the price. This unit does a good job cooling at a fraction of the cost of an air conditioner and without the power consumption or setup needed. Don't expect the room to cool down significantly, air coolers don't work that way. This provides superior comfort in a 15ft radius.

In fact, I prefer to have this on compared to an air conditioner on dryer days.

I'm not an uber technical person but from my understanding, what it does is to use water to and the cooling effect of an evaporative process. This is especially useful for sensitive or dry skin. Currently used in the bedroom but am adding an additional unit in the den.

Not real setup is required, just fill the unit with water and set it on, it makes an odd noise when the water bucket is empty but just fill it up again and you'll be fine. The louvers are a little flimsy but can be popped back into place quite easily. It's easy to move around and small enough to put in most spaces. Oh, and it comes with handy heater mode too.

This fireplace looks beautiful and was very easy to install. It provides good heating and ambiance. Having the remote control makes it even more convenient. It's hard to tell that it's not a gas flame-fireplace because the flames are realistic.

We purchased this for our new house, and it delivers! We have warm, dry towels (not hot, not mildewy) when we reach for them every morning. We put it on a plug-in timer so it only runs an hour before we need to use it and another hour or so after, and we've had nothing but clean, dry towels. We hard-wired ours and mounted it on the wall, and it looks clean and classy and works great. This is also a great size--don't be convinced by bigger-is-better--there are plenty of rungs and we fold our towels twice and they work great. We liked it so much we got one for our kids--four towels, clean and dry. Good value, great product.

I bought this towel warmer after about a year of contemplating whether this would fit in my small bathroom. Amazon was running a terrific sale so for the price, under $100, it is hard to beat. Installation was fairly easy (I have mine plugged in). Most important, it does warm my towels. Although it's not a hot as I expected it to be. The satin nickel finish is cheap looking and the adhesive used for the stickers on the rails removed part of the finish when I took them off. Overall for the price I am happy with my purchase.

I've had this experience before a quality US brand gets taken over by a Chinese maker, they cost reduce it and turn it into an inferior product. The picture is of the US made Warmrails that is NOT what you will get no welded seams, painted NOT satin nickel. The rails were loose on the one I received. It says "UL" on it but I doubt the new model was really approved from what I know about UL requirements.

DON'T TRUST ANY REVIEW WRITTEN BEFORE 2009 IT WAS A DIFFERENT PRODUCT!

They do get warm and do the job, and the price is lower than most of the other brands. CAVEAT EMPTOR.

I purchased this towel warmer about 3 years ago and made it a permanent fixture in my newly renovated bathroom. I was so excited about the price and functionality. But my excitement turned into rage when the fixture started rusting and became an eyesore! The chrome is coming off at cleaning and it looks disgusting!!! I am so upset with this purchase because it required drilling holes in my beautiful italian tiles. I would love to remove it, but the thought of the tiles that were "damaged" due to the rack installation makes my heart cry. DO NOT MAKE IT A PERMANENT FIXTURE that involves drilling holes in the tiles or you will be devastated once the product starts to wear out pretty quickly..

Purchasing this unit is the greatest thing I could have done for my bathroom. NO more musty smelling towels, and always dry for after a shower. The unit is hot, but certainly not burning to the touch, and DON'T expect it to create "Dryer warm" towels, just dry, clean smelling towels. I want to put one in the other bathroom, once I can figure out how to run electricity to that point.

BTW, mine was hardwired, and it looks perfect, like it really belongs there.

Comfort Zone heater SUCKS. I bought one of these heaters and am thoroughly disappointed. It will not turn on until it is really cold, like around 40-45 degrees or so. As a result i ended up using my old heater instead.

When it does turn on (which has been about five times this winter) it won't turn off automatically so the room just got hotter and hotter until i turned it off. I can't program it to turn on/off at certain times because that part doesn't work.

I called customer service (which is lousy-you can't get them half the time after waiting a long time) and they told me to do this and that which i did, but nothing worked. I bought it in the summer when it became available so by the time i tried using it in the winter the money back guarantee was over.

So i'm stuck with a $400 piece of garbage.

P.S. I have seen other reviews that say these units break down a lot. I never got mine to work long enough to break down these other ways. Do your homework and read the customer reviews online. This is too much money to throw away.
