Reddy Convection Heater, LP #TC101 Reviews
Awesome little heater. Make sure you follow the directions and use a wrench to tighten the fittings. I did not the first time and caught the whole thing on fire. Other than that it heated up an oversized 2 car garage in about 20 minutes to warmer than the rest of the house. I used it to heat an area about 300 ft2 in an non-insulated outdoor tent and it worked well too. Just do not leave it unattended while it is on. The propane lasts along time and it was not noisy.I bought two LP heaters. Both were as simple to operate and as safe as your typical gas grill. Both perform adequately on your standard gas grill LP tank. They do not use electricity which is an advantage during a power outage.

Update: My 20'x 20' master bedroom with a 15' vaulted ceiling is just too big for this heater. It runs continuously and can only warm the room 7 degrees above the temp of the rest of the house. It looks like I will need to switch back to central heating, since no electric space heater goes above 1500w.
Overview: Overall this seems like a great little heater, the handle does make it hard to carry, a slight curve in the inside of the handle would have made all of the difference in the world, but I had already read all of the complaints regarding the handle before I bought it so I knew what to expect.
I am using it in a master bedroom that is approximately 20x20 with a high 15' vaulted ceiling. I will find out tonight if the room is too big for this little heater. I also have it plugged into Kill-A-Watt to approximate how much it will cost me per month to run, but more on that later.
Problems: One big gotcha, big enough to almost make me take it back because I thought it was not working, was that the tip-over sensor does not work on thick carpet. After unboxing it and plugging it up nothing happened, so I looked all over it thinking maybe it needed a fuse or something. Finally figured out that the carpet was so deep that it thought it was tipped over so it would not come on. The remedy was to place a piece of cardboard between the carpet and the underside of the heater so that the tipover sensor would be pushed up inside the heater. A gravity based sensor or a more sophisticated pressure sensor would not have this problem, but it would probably drive up the cost.
Quality of Materials: Seems about on par for the price range, mostly plastic, I believe the grill in the front is metal, a nice touch is the heat indicator alerting you to when the grill is hot to the touch. It definitely is not 'cool to the touch' within a few minutes of running I would not recommend touching the front grill. As others have said, moving the heater when it is hot is a challenge due to the poorly designed handle.
Annoyances: The brilliant blue light in the front is quite annoying at night as others have mentioned. I am considering opening up the heater and just disconnecting it, but I'll give it a few days before I decide. Also, as others have mentioned the fan is really loud, its almost as loud as a window AC unit, and it did wake me up a few times during the night.
Ease of Use: Knobs and buttons are clearly labeled, unpacking was a breeze
Now the fun stuff: Most people buy a space heater to save power, the thinking being of course is that heating one or two rooms of a house is far cheaper than heating a whole house. I do not claim to be a HVAC expert by any means, but what I can tell you is that if used improperly a space heater can end up costing just as much if not more than a central heating system. For example, I intend on using my space heater from around 10pm each night until around 7am in the morning (9hrs). This heater uses 1500W of power which equals 1.5kW/h. So if this heater were to run continuously for 9hrs a day, 7 days a week for 30 days it would consume 405kWh x 0.097 which TECO charges per kWh = $40/month. So this one heater has the potential to cost me $40/month.
Of course in the previous example the heater ran continuously, which would mean the room is too big for this heater, if that is really the case then I have other problems. But it does go to show that these heaters can still rack up electric bill costs. To be certain I am saving money with this heater, I am using Kill-A-Watt to see how much it is actually going to cost me per month, I would also recommend putting a heavy duty timer on your outlet such as this: Intermatic TN311C 120 Volt Heavy Duty Grounded Timer to ensure it does not run during the day when you are not home.
Obviously my results will in no way be comparable to anyone else's results due to many variables: square footage of the room, outside temperature, building materials (i.e. block holds heat better than wood), insulation, etc. But I would recommend to anyone expecting to save power with one of these to do your own power usage testing instead of just assuming heating one or two rooms is cheaper than heating a whole house.
Scary stuff: Using the same .097/kw/h rate above and imagine placing this heater in a place that is too large for it to heat, thereby causing it to run 24 hrs/day. This one heater would add $104.76 to your power bill (((1.5kW * 24hrs) x 30 days)) x .097cents per kWh) = $104.76. Moral of the example is, make sure you put it in a room it can handle, make sure the room is reasonably insulated and the door(s) are closed as much as possible, and whatever you do, don't leave one of these running when you are not home unless you have to.
As it turns out, there is NO beeping sound when the temperature changes, and as for the annoying light...I've had alarm clocks that were worse than the light from the tower heater. If the light bugs you, all the more reason to snuggle under the blankets. I love being able to set the timer on the heater and crawl under the blankets, and not having to crawl out to turn it off!
After about 3 weeks, the automatic shut-off got activated and the heater stopped working. There is instruction on the cord that advices you to unplug the heater and wait for 10 mins before using it again. I followed it and it again started working. But after another week, everyday, the auto shut-off would kick-in within like 5 mins of switching on the heater. After that it was consistently just working only for 5 mins and then will automatically get reset after about several hours to only run for another 5 mins. It became so frustrating that I returned this back to Target.

Even though this model is not the top of the honeywell line, I'm glad I made the decision to go with it. I have three other brands in my home and none can compete with this model. Heat fills the room quickly and there is a positive difference in the electric bill. Initially when I purchased this a month back, it was heating up pretty good. The only problem I had was that the temperature difference between the heater turning off and on again was like 4 degrees. This created both cold and hot zones. After about 3 weeks, the automatic shut-off got activated and the heater stopped working. Consumer Reports listed this as the quietest AC in it's class, but I saw several reviews on-line that complained about a noise that sounded like the fan was slapping against water in the case. I decided to try one unit anyway. Sure enough, when it arrived, it had the telltale noise. Examination, however, revealed that the fan was simply scraping against the surrounding shroud. Could have easily fixed it myself, but called Friedrich instead. They were very friendly and helpful, and knew immediately what the problem was. They gave me the name of a local service store. Called them, the repairman came out two day's later, trimmed the shroud, and -voila -the problem was fixed. After the fix, even he commented that it was the quietest unit he'd ever heard. I promptly ordered two more identical units. Both arrived shortly thereafter, and neither had the noise problem. I would not hesitate to recommend this unit. Is it as quiet as central air? No, definitely not. After all, it is a window unit. Can you hear it running? Definitely. After all, it is a window unit. But it is probably about 75% quieter than the unit it replaced. The sound it does make is not particularly intrusive, and you could easily carry on a whispered conversation right next to the unit. The only mystery that remains to me is, if Friedrich knows about this problem, and it occurs with any frequency, why hasn't their quality control department redesigned the manufacturing specs to eliminate it completely? Presumably, the shroud needs to be a close fit to the fan in order to obtain the efficiency at which the unit is rated, but still...... Ahh, one of the enduring mysteries of life.

Was in contact with Freidrich service. To make a long story short, cause of excess noise and vibration found and corrected. Freidrich support responded in a quick and expeditious manner. Apparently problem solved. Am changing review from one star to four stars. Kuhl is a five star unit.

Friedrich authorized and replacement unit installed today, after noise issue returned. New unit much quieter. The problem with the original unit was with the compressor. As with any product purchase, your purchase is only as good as the company behind it. Pleased with Freidrich customer service and their response to my issue. This is a decent if not spectular performer for a window unit. If you are looking for a thru the wall,I would definetly reccomend the Kuhl series. Had one installed in living room and it is great. More expensive, but worth it.

I decided to buy a Friedrich CP06G10 after I heard a LG unit sounding like a tractor...despite most of the good reviews it got (???); the built quality of the Friedrich is remarkable, compared with units from other brands (of similar capacity 6000BTU); unfortunately, the unit is noisy, specially for the price; the fan alone is running ok but the noise from the compressor is quite loud and uneven; the customer support rep at Friedrich was very courteous and try her best in dealing with the situation; without a prompt response from the warranty technicians in my area I returned the unit to the store; when packing the unit I noticed that the compressor used in this unit is....LG Electronics.....what a shame! Hopefully the people at Friedrich will make a better selection of the (major) parts used in their products.Best Deals for Friedrich CP06G10 6000 btu - 115 volt - 10.7 EER Chill series room

Purchased this unit from an independant Freidrich dealer as well as the Kuhl. The Kuhl is a fine product. The Chill is noisy and the fromt grill vibrates. The installer has come back twice and has improved the vibration issues, but the unit is noisy and the problem is the front grill which is flimsy hence the vibration issue. Am waiting to hear from Freidrich about this issue.6/26/2012

This is our second Friedrich unit that we purchased. I have owned a couple of units in our house, and the friedrich is the quietest and best cooling. On "high" I can sleep with it next to my head. On low I can barely hear it. This is replacing a 10k BTU Sears Kenmore that went bust after 2 years, although we had a larger one which we got rid of that was 10+ years old. After extensive research on the first one, we got it, despite it being undersized, it cools half of our upstairs perfectly, and the second 6k unit will cool the other one. Do your research, notice that Friedrich has the highest EER rating, it's there for a reason, they have the technology (wifi on some models), and energy efficiency. $50 coupon (25+25) until July 31st (2012)as well. Don't oversize your a/c unit, it will cycle on and off too fast and die. A smaller one turned on in advance will use less energy and last longer.Cheap Oreck AirInstinct HEPA Large Room Air Purifier
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I have owned a number of air cleaners over the years. Most recently, I placed two Hoover Air Purifier with TiO2 Technology WH10600 in the rooms of my children to combat an unusually bad allergy season. Prior, I also owned two Winix PlasmaWave 5300 Air Cleaner Model, sold by Sears and marketed as Kenmore Plasma Air cleaners (made by same company). I rate the Hoover Air Purifier with TiO2 Technology WH10600 a better air cleaner. It's also about $100 cheaper than the Oreck as of the date of this review.
The Oreck AirInstinct is clearly targeting the advanced air cleaner market. This market is typically differentiated primarily through price and certain functions. This air cleaner offers true HEPA performance and many functional (operationally) options. However, it is seemingly missing proven technology such as UV filters incorporated in many other products and at a lesser price. Where the Oreck shines is in it's near silent operation, style, form (can fit up against a wall), various modes, sleep function, and 3 year HEPA filter, and 3 year odor filter. The value of the 3 year filters equates to anywhere from $125$400 depending on the comparison air cleaner (i.e. Plasma Replacement filters can be very expensive). The replacement filters for the Hoover Air Purifier with TiO2 Technology WH10600 will run about $85 over the course of 3 years of average household use. I did not mention the so called "mood light" because who really cares?
The unit is quality built and does not feel cheap in any manner. Operationally, the Oreck runs and looks great. It's very quiet and cleaned the air in our entire Master Bedroom pretty quickly. The filter system is comprised of three filters. The HEPA, odor, and pre-filter. In my opinion, the odor filter did nothing to remove odors (another reviewer noted this as well). My wife's perfume for example, was still evident even two hours later with the air cleaner running the entire time. The automatic operation features of the product makes it "plug and play." This includes the auto sleep feature that reduces the airflow of the unit when it senses the lights have been out for about three minutes. When the lights come back on, after a few minutes, the air flow is increased automatically. I like these features as they are more advanced than the 3 power stage and auto features associated with most of the units on the market today. But the sleep feature can be a problem if you intend the unit to run at full power regardless of the time of day.
It is important to note that when purchasing air cleaner units, they are rated for room size. In the case of this product, it is rated for a room not to exceed 248 square feet (Hoover is rated at 79 square feet). At this price point, I expect better performance in terms of room size that would let me use the unit in larger rooms. I would gladly give up the mood light and sleep function as a trade off. Also, as I previously mentioned, this product does not have any UV light to kill germs. While many people laugh at such a feature, I can tell you first hand it works when properly applied by room size. Typically, you will either use the UV light with a Titanium Dioxide coated screen or a Plasma generator, which is the functional equivalent of an air ionizer.
The bottom line is that the Oreck is a heavy duty, quality built, HEPA air cleaner without germ killing capabilitythat will save you the expense of replacing filters at least every year, if not more often. As of the date of this review, there has been a significant price fluctuation downward from the MSRP, previous Amazon price, and current price. I believe this reflects the fact that it does not have germ killing capability and people are opting for the cheaper units with such a capability. (Don't let the out of stock warning fool you, they only had 8 units when it first went online). I gave this unit 4 stars because it does what it says it does and does so quietly.
Bulk vs. Sleek Chic
Rabbit Air, quite frankly, just looks antiquated, bulky and uninspired. By comparison, AirInstinct is sleek, modern and is significantly less bulky. The Rabbit air is enormous by comparison. It's kind of like jalopy vs. elegance.
Lighted Display vs. Cool Mood Light
From day one, I always disliked the Rabbit Air's control panel and display; the glowing lights and visual cues are ridiculously bright for a product that's intended to be used in a bedroom. And there's just FAR too many things to look at, and most of it is redundant. To this day, I have to grab the user manual to decipher what half of it means; it's overdone and should be streamlined. Worse still, there's simply no way to turn off all those bright glowing lights come bedtime. So from day one, I had to drape a hand towel over the Rabbit Air's display just to darken the room so I could go to sleep. Yes, it's THAT bright. So I was stuck with this humungous $400 air purifier that looked stupid with a towel draped over it because the display lights can't be turned off or dimmed. On the flipside, Oreck's AirInstinct has a very soothing mood ring on the top left corner of the unit, that gently changes color to give visual cues to the current air quality; Blue, Purple, Magenta and Red = Monitoring, Low, Medium and High respectively. Better yet, that lighted mood ring can be TURNED OFF. So during the day, I leave the glowing ring on for a cool mood light, and at night, I turn it off. Duh take note, Rabbit Air!
Remote Control vs Streamlined Control Panel
At first, the remote control for my Rabbit Air seemed like a great idea. However, in a real world setting, it has proven virtually useless. I never use it and it's just another thingamajig I gotta keep track of. Less is more, and AirInstinct does it better. All of the AirInstinct's controls are located on the top edge of the unit. There are very few buttons to press, and the function of each one is clearly marked. Tiny blue LEDs give visual cues as to what your settings are, and there's even a pleasing chime that plays gently with each button press. Very nice and easy to use. Between the mood lighting and gentle chimes, Oreck is creating an overall feel here serenity, calming, breathe and relax nice touch Oreck.
Strikingly Similar Filters
The Rabbit Air and Oreck AirInstinct use almost identical filters in size, look and function. Both units use a 3 stage filter process -1) pre-filter, 2) odor reducing carbon and 3) a HEPA filter. The main HEPA filters for both are almost exactly the same; the only difference being, Rabbit Air has a thin sheet covering one side of the accordion HEPA filter, while the Oreck does not. This thin sheet does trap some dust, but it probably offers little benefit over Oreck's filter, since both are rated for 99.97% dust filtering and 0.3 microns. Both Rabbit Air and AirInsticnt use the same type of pre-filter. As far as the carbon filter -Rabbit Air uses carbon pellets sealed in a plastic honeycomb casing, while Oreck simply uses treated sponge. I've read that some people's Rabbit Air carbon filter broke open, only to have all the little tiny pellets spill everywhere. By contrast, Oreck's sponge carbon will produce no such accidents or mess to clean up.
Did Oreck Hijack Rabbit Air's Suggestion Box?
Honestly, every complaint and dislike I have with my Rabbit Air has been addressed and corrected by Oreck AirInstinct. It's almost as if Oreck stole Rabbit Air's suggestion box, and enacted all the good ideas customers shared. The strikingly similar filters almost have me wondering if these 2 companies are related in some way. Whatever the case, Oreck definitely improved upon Rabbit Air's shortcomings.
Bottom Line Both the Rabbit Air BioGS and Oreck AirInstinct do a great job of filtering the air. And both cost about the same for the unit itself, as well as for replacement filters. But all told, Oreck just looks better, is easier to use, has cool mood lighting that can be turned off come bedtime and has a much smaller footprint than Rabbit Air. All told, Oreck is the clear winner for me.
This is a very deluxe air cleaner, and it keeps the air nice and clean. It says that it filters all the air every fifteen minutes for an average sized room, and I believe it. It kept the air in my house nice, even with a nasty inversion outside.
Automatic mode usually keeps the device silent, and so it's not obtrusive.
The hole in the middle is just for decoration. I thought it was for expelling air, but it's just to make it look pretty. The air intake is on either side, and it expels the air through a vent out the back. The hole lights up with blue or red, depending on the speed of the fan.
Pros:
+Looks very nice
+Silent mode is very silent
+Does a great job in cleaning the air
Cons:
-No ionizer, so it doesn't remove all the smell from cigarette smoke
-The blue lights on the top never turn off, so don't put this in a room that you need totally dark.
Speaking of maintenance, it is recommended to clean the pre-filter once every 2 to 4 weeks and a couple of sensors every 2 months. Not bad at all for a good air purifier. As for how it has operated. My wife has the more sensitive nose. She reports definitely better smelling air the past 2 months and the unit is rated for a big enough space that we have it as our living room air purifier. Pet odors have been noticeably less and an overall fresher feel when she comes in from work. We run it on automatic and the speed does change depending upon activity in the house. Cooking, coming in from outside activate a higher setting. As for noise, it is virtually noiseless in all but the highest mode. In the high mode it sounds like an average sounding small to medium space fan would.
It also looks nice. I really enjoy how the mood light looks, subtle and also useful. It lets you know the air quality in the room. Also of note is a good manual and an excellent laminated quick start guide. You do have to remove plastic from 2 of the filters so do not just plug it in and go. This also gives you an introduction to removing and putting the filters back in. I highly recommend this as I also do Rabbit air purifiers. Frankly the Oreck has much longer lasting filters, looks great, and seems to work just as well if not better. Between the long lasting filters and being rated energy star, this unit will also keep overall cost of ownership down.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I've owned a Rabbit Air BioGS for almost ten years now, so I have a lot of confidence and experience in my belief that Oreck AirInstinct completely blows Rabbit Air away. Here's why:Bulk vs.
Best Deals for Oreck AirInstinct HEPA Large Room Air Purifier
I bought this product because of the problem of cigarette smoke coming into my apartment. I use it in my bedroom with the door closed. It works well but it does not remove the cigarette smoke.Honest reviews on Oreck AirInstinct HEPA Large Room Air Purifier
Customer review from the Amazon Vine ProgramThis is a very deluxe air cleaner, and it keeps the air nice and clean.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I live with a 20 month old, 2 cats, and in the allergy capital of the U.S. And I do suffer from allergies. So we have had many air purifiers over the years. This is one of my favorites. One thing people do not think of is overall cost of ownership for an air purifier. Many lower cost ones are not energy star. This one is. We use ours 24/7 so an energy star rating is a must. Also is how often you need to replace filters. This is a new model so I can't say for certain, but it is rates as 3 years for the HEPA and 3 years for the odor filter. The pre-filter is washable. Not only is that the most impressive I have ever seen in an air purifier but it also means less maintenance on removing the HEPA and odor filter.Speaking of maintenance, it is recommended to clean the pre-filter once every 2 to 4 weeks and a couple of sensors every 2 months.
Panasonic SR-G06 3 Cup Electric Rice Cooker - 220 volt For Overseas Review
Ok, I should have read the description more thoroughly before I purchased this. We predominantly eat brown rice and there are no settings or water levels on this rice cooker for brown rice. On the occasional times we eat white rice, it has cooked it fine. I would be nice to have a spoon rest on the side somewhere.

I was looking for a light-weight rice cooker for oversea travel (i.e., 220v) and this product seemed to be only one available in U.S. I brought it with me to Germany three weeks ago but after 5 uses it stopped working. I tried hard to diagnose the problem myself but could not figure out what's wrong the light would still go up but it just no longer heats up. This really sucks. I don't know who is to blame the product itself or the distributor (I bought it from Bombay Electronics. They shipped me an Arabic version even though the original web page said it has English manual...)Best Deals for Panasonic SR-G06 3 Cup Electric Rice Cooker - 220 volt For Overseas
Bought this for sister studying abroad. It came in pink and was very cute. Although I would have been horribly disappointed if it was for a male. But it worked for me. This is the cheapest we found after searching through million sites.Wednesday, July 30, 2014
Discount Real Flame Lannon 3300-X-E Electric Fireplace in Espresso - MANTEL
Installation was easy and the product has a nice finish. Looks great in our living room. Eventhough it was bought just for the look and feel of a fire place, it does give off a fair amount of heat as well when you use 3 cans of gel. I Like the center panel that flips down which hides the audio/video equipment when not in use.
Make sure you also purchace the Gel fuel it does not come with the Fireplace. You may also want to get a Snuffer.

I purchased the Cobraco Sh101 Hand Hammered Copper Fire Pit with Screen (spark arrestor) 11 months ago. As can be expected of a screen that's exposed to high heat consistantly it's now rusted through and has big holes in it which renders it dangerous to leave unattended. I contacted the company directly and was told that since I didn't keep my proof of purchase they would not replace it. I completely understand this and offered to buy a replacement from them, but I was told that they don't sell them separately so my only option is to go spend another $270 for a whole new set.
I think the fact that they won't allow me to purchase a replacement part separately is a very unfriendly policy for their customers. I mean really, who keeps receipts from every purchase you make... particularly ones that have no moving parts?
The copper bowl itself has held up well...but if you decide to purchase this item make sure you keep your receipt because you'll need it to get your screen replaced within the first year!
After having spent a lifetime at camping in the outdoors all over the country, and having earned my college degree in Parks and Recreation (which includes maintenance and design), and serving for 25 years as a park ranger/park manager, I can honestly say that I actually know a great deal about every sort of fire device which has ever been contrived. In fact, I have designed several myself.
Here we have a solid copper bowl, a steel three-legged support, a wire cover/screen, and a vinyl rain cover for when the unit is cool and not in use. The idea here is to build a fire in the bowl so that folks can sit around it, roast a few marshmallows or hot dogs on a stick, and enjoy the evening. You can do that. The company recommends that you put sand in the bottom of the bowl and I wholly agree with that. Here are my issues:
1. The copper is too thin. A really hot fire could potentially weaken the walls and possibly melt through over time (hence the sand in the bowl helps to alleviate this problem but I still would much limit the size/heat of the fire.)
2. The feet on the tripod support are entirely too small at the base. If you have the weight of sand and firewood in the bowl and the ground is soft, this thing is going to sink. If it sinks on one side only, this could cause some difficulties, depending upon how you are using the unit. I think it's also too flimsy. So you're probably going to need to set this up on some thin bricks if you plan to use this in your yard, (especially if you plan to use the same spot all the time.)
3. There are no air vents in the bowl. (This may have been an intentional design feature to keep the fire from getting too hot.)
4. Cleaning out the ashes, (without taking your sand with it), is somewhat of a hassle, a very slow and dirty project. This, I might add, is a problem with almost all campfire rings and fire pits. You MUST remove ashes after use because they are caustic and, (especially if water gets in the bowl), the bowl will deteriorate.
There are other minor issues but those are the four chief drawbacks as I see them. I would characterize the unit overall, as "a looker" rather than a highly functional unit. Given the materials used, I would have made it half the diameter that it is, thus making the copper twice as thick. The same goes for the tripod supports and I would also have added round foot pads which were at least six inches across. A few air holes low on the sides to enhance combustion would be nice too.
Using this unit for cooking, (such as a pot of beans, or laying a grill across the top) would definitely not be recommended.
I really liked the idea of the copper bowl in terms of quality materials but I think the designer got pretty far afield in terms of utility. I wish they would have called me (or another outdoor recreation professional) -I would have steered them in a superior direction.
In summary, if you want a small campfire, two or three evenings during the summer just to enjoy the night and entertain the kids a bit, then this will probably work for you. However, if I tried to use this unit as I do use my own portable fire pits, (I currently have two, both home-made), it would be in the junk-pile in about a week.
Recommended for light use.
Concrete patio; no wood deck that could catch fire.
Plenty of seasoned oak to burn. No junk sparky wood.
Moderate need for real heat (eastern NC).
The feet on the legs are stable on a concrete surface. Our fire pit arrived as intended, with no transit damage. The screen looks like it will hold up long enough. I need the copper to discolor in a hurry, actually, unlike some people who didn't appear to understand that copper doesn't hold its orange color unless you work your polishing tailbone off to keep it that way. In our neighborhood, copper wire and pipe gets stolen. I don't want passers-by to see that we have a big piece of obvious copper in the backyard. Figure a few more fires will do the trick.
The one downside we noticed on set-up that missed my attention when I selected this product: Rain.
The fire pit is shipped with a fitted vinyl cover, not unlike the kind you get for your barbeque grill. However, the fire pit is smaller than a grill, and low to the ground. My partner put the cover over the fire pit. I looked at it and said, "that's not going to work." He said, "why not?" I gestured toward the dogs (5), who have been known to destroy a car cover, blinds, couches, chairs, etc etc and so forth. Industrious little buggers.
He said, "oops."
So, for now, we are thinking about how to keep our pit covered when not being used. We might could move it into the carport, or simply tip it up on its side, or something. If dog chewing is a problem for your backyard, the cover may not work for you either.
But that's not really the fault of the fire pit; simply something we hadn't considered.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Up front, I want to note that this "portable fire pit" will do what it says it will do. This product is exactly as it's described. Amazon recommends the Veranda canvas cover and I agree it's MUCH better quality than the one that ships with it. The pit itself is nice and deep & sturdy so there is plenty of room for logs without the worry of it tipping over. The copper is a bit thinner than I expected but I'm not sure YET if that matters. Some other reviews mentioned that the mesh cover melts so I've been too chicken to put it on as the fire is blazing. You can't make a decent s'more with the cover on anyway :)Honest reviews on CobraCo SH101 Hand Hammered 100% Copper Fire Pit with Screen
We've had this fire basin for a few months now and love it. There appears to be good air circulation, so the fires burn hot (i.e. good brightness and not too much smoke, although still smoke). The copper also turns a pretty color with burning, but that's true of all copper. I also really like the cover, and have put it on several of our larger and more unwieldy fires with no detrimental effect, as far as I can tell.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for CobraCo SH101 Hand Hammered 100% Copper Fire Pit with Screen

Mr. Heater MH25NG 25,000-BTU Natural-Gas Radiant Heater Review
I have used this in my garage for several years now, if I have my garage door closed it will warm the space pretty well. Directly under the heater its really nice and toasty, but the furthest corner of the garage will still be cold. In a 20-degree day with the garage door closed (I have a two-car garage with most of the garage walls NOT insulated), I get over 70 degrees directly under the heater (where I usually change the oil etc.) and at least 40 degrees at the coldest corner of the garage. Most of the garage becomes very comfortable to work in, that I usually don't even need to wear a jacket. BUT as soon as I open the garage door, I lose all the warm air and it takes a little while to heat the whole place back up. That being said, I typically also let it run for an hour or so before I start working on my car, just so I know the area is nicely heated.
Hope that helps. :)
I do have some complaints, which keeps me from giving this 5 stars.
1. Clearance is very important. When the burner ignites, I'm always alarmed because of the small ball of fire that the heater emits across the burner.
2. Because of the radiant heat nature, I have burned my hands while working under the heater, similar to getting a sunburn.
3. I've had problems with the pilot light going out. It is easily adjustable with a screwdriver, but is very sensitive and this was very annoying to fine-tune in the beginning. I still have to adjust it about once a year.
4. The garage always smells like natural gas.
This heater worked well in my situation, because I had natural gas stubbed into the garage when the house was under construction. Had I not done this, I would probably opt for an electric heater next time, and this means you need 220 volts. Depending on the size and type of heater, most also require some type of vent.
I would recommend this heater as it works as advertised for my 625 SF garage. However, I also recommend you explore other options first.
This isn't my first rodeo with this model. I bought one 6 years ago and worked with good success. No C.M. alarms....ever.
so when the original unit started emitting natural gas fumes, I was told my their tech support that it's almost cheaper to buy a new one. So I bought the exact same model recently.
When the new unit arrived, the valve assembly mount looked bent. Sure enough, it was burning extremely hot and out of control.
when the next replacement arrived, it looked fine. It also burned hotter than normal (flames over the top) and began emitting Carbon Monoxide.(set off my alarm)
Also the thermostat had to be set at 40 degrees to maintain 70 degrees.
Amazon has been very good about taking care of the problem with me. Hats off!
Mr. Heater on the other hand needs to not be so arrogant (based on my calls to tech support)and address their quality control problem!
Also, it does recommend you cut a "vent" in your wall above it and have an opening below it (like a window open a couple inches for ventilation.
I placed my unit so it casts the infra red heat right in the middle of the pool and has an effective floor area of about 18 by 18 feet when placed 15 feet above. Since the swimming pool is at the lowest level and cold air tends to settle to the lowest level this heater comes in very handy even when the water is heated and the furnace is blowing warm air. It also feels like the sun when you come out of the water even if you are wet. If you close your eyes you can almost imagine you were on a beach in Hawaii. I am thinking about buying another one for the deep end.
Hope that helps. :)

I purchased this heater about 2 years ago to keep my garage about the freezing level, principally to melt ice and snow from the cars, but also to provide a comfortable sleeping environment for my dog (and to keep his water from freezing). For this purpose, it works very well, and even keeps the snow melted from my snowthrower, which I keep on the opposite side of the garage. It was quite easy to install after getting all the proper fittings and hoses, which are not included.I do have some complaints, which keeps me from giving this 5 stars.

Bought this to heat an insulated,2 bay garage/shop. Not bad it you are directly under it, but five feet out and your out of it's line of fire. I bought this for my indoor swimming pool. Even with the furnace heat you still need that extra warmth to make it feel like Miami Beach in NJ in January. I could not find a better looking heater and my only dislike is that this looks too much like a garage heater which it is. This unit comes with a thermostat and requires no electricity which would also be useful in the event of a power failure. I am still not sure how the thermostat manages to work without electricity.I placed my unit so it casts the infra red heat right in the middle of the pool and has an effective floor area of about 18 by 18 feet when placed 15 feet above. good fireplace bucket for pellets!!! looks good!!! hard to find item, glad i found it on Amazon!!! nice color, looks real!!!Best Deals for Minuteman International C-65MC Coal Hod / Pellet Bucket with Scoop
pail looks and works well, but scoop has a cheesy rivet on handle, which will not last, I am guessing.Honest reviews on Minuteman International C-65MC Coal Hod / Pellet Bucket with Scoop
I purchased this because my boyfriend was using the wet dry vac to clean out the ashes from the smoker...thats right, the wet dry vac. I am sure some are thinking, "Why not?" Because ash is very fine and filthy and the wet dry vac is not dedicated to this singular purpose. As such, another solution needed to be put into place. While this is not as quick or efficient, the curved scoop works perfectly along the bottom of the smoker and my wet dry vac has half a chance for survival. Great product. Excellent construction.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Minuteman International C-65MC Coal Hod / Pellet Bucket with Scoop
Perfect size for 20-2 lbs of pellets and easy to handle around the stove. Has an excellent finish where the pellets slide easily-very nice. Drawback: The pour spout should be narrower so the pellets don't spread out so much when pouting into the hopper and a little longer. A regular old fashioned coal hod is an example of a spout that is well engineered.Discount Dimplex #TD522W Line Voltage Thermostat DPST Switch
This is a very basic double pole line voltage thermostat. I rated it 4 stars because it lacks a thermometer or a temperature adjustment. Also, you have to follow the installation instructions carefully because both red wires go to line and the black to load rather than matching the wire colors in the box. I bought this to replace a top-of-the-line Honeywell which burned out in two years. Line voltage thermostats are becoming harder to find so I felt fortunate to find this one at a reasonable price. Time will tell how well it holds up.

Works awesome. It's the ticket. Great price too. What else can I say. Get one today, or maybe two or threeI thought this blower would blow much faster. This blower has no adjustable fins and the heater attachment with the blower, blows out very little heat, more cold than heat. Not a good product.

I purchased this heater to replace a Lasko ceramic heater which I have no complaints. The room I use it in has many windows and is over my garage that it not heated. Unfortunately this is my bedroom and it gets drafty and requires supplemental heat. The living pure heater heats evenly and I can use it at a lower temp than the Lasko. I enjoy the added benefit of the humidifier & purifier. It has made it easier to breathe and I dont need the ionic breeze and a humidifier that had to use. I use it about 6-8 hrs at night and I do need to refill the water tank daily. The timer feature is nice too. I dont know if my electric bill will be less but I am using 2 less products and dont use this as many hours as the previous heater.
What is important for this heater to work, at least for me, is the humidifier. Water vapor carries the heat so the small amount of humidity helps spread the heat throughout the room. If you don't use water, then it doesn't feel like the room gets warm at all.
It is overpriced. If the heater was around $120 or so, that would be a good price. But for over $300 it is too expensive for what it delivers. If I could return the heater for a full refund without having to pay for shipping, I would.
I bought a Vornado heater that seems to work a bit better. Although it doesn't have the UV air purifier or humidifier, it actually blows warm air, which in essence is what everyone basically wants to feel.
Bought Three:
1. First one opened, then Power switch is broken
2. Open 2nd one, the top lid is broken where it is attached via screws. Plus the Side Door is not attached, popped out.
3. 3rd One, one of the four wheels is broken. Also the side door also popped out.
It was a bit difficult, but I managed to pop back in the side doors for both.
Thinking that I bought it new, I should not have a problem getting help from Woot (where I bought as brand new items). However, Woot said that they don't have any in stock to replace the purchase, and I have to call the manufacture.
I called the Manufacture, they told me that I have to ship them back (which is fine). However, I have to pay for the ship cost to ship to them, and also pay the shipping cost for them to send the 3 heaters back to me. Now, I just bought them brand new, and received them as broken items, I am really upset that I now have to put out additional $$$ to have them replaced (for all I know, the replacement might be just as broken one way or another).
If this is an indication of their confident in their product, I will never buy another item made by Living Pure.
(side note: Also, I would not buy any expensive items from WOOT again since they do not any responsibility for defect on arrival).

I ordered this heater thinking that it would work great. Is it just okay. It does work and it gently warms the room. There is no fan, no air blowing out of it. Just passive heat. When you order it, what you get isn't a model 8756, but rather model 9000; so I wish Amazon would update the item description. I don't know whether a fan actually exists inside the unit, or whether mine is broken. I looked inside and cannot see any fan inside. What is important for this heater to work, at least for me, is the humidifier. The machine arrived DOA. The flimsy switch on the back of the machine was broken. I called support and they said they would only take it back for replacement if I paid for shipping. I am now trying to replace the switch to get it working. Needless to say, I am not happy and would not recommend this machine.Honest reviews on Living Pure 8756 Living Pure 4-In-1 Heater and Air Purifier

I recd this heater as a gift from my father, he thought it would heat my family room area with very high ceilings. It only heated the area directly in front of the heater. Also it appears this was not a new product because we found someone elses return information in the box.
